Journal Entry #320

My gosh, it is hot here in Vegas!! We have been in the 90s to high 110s (degrees Fahrenheit) since May hit but, we hadn’t been out and about to deal with it as much.

We just got home an hour or so ago and I’m only starting to cool down now.

Our governor announced, today, that face masks will be mandatory in public spaces which I’m fine with, as long as everyone else abides by the law, too! All discussions of going into Phase 3 are on hold so, I will be out of work for even longer. There was a spike in cases here, some restaurants have even shut down of their own will and some because they were ordered to (due to employee(s) testing positive).

I may order some more masks, maybe the white ones this time? Where is everyone else buying theirs?

On Sunday, boyfriend had the day off. We went to Sprouts to buy our groceries for the week. We hadn’t been there in so long and it was nice to shop in peace! Walmart is always so squishy and hectic.

When we got back home, he made us both a chicken breast to mix in with our salad kit bags. I got the Asian one, as usual, and he got an Everything Bagel Seasoning one with ranch dressing.

I spent all night brushing my hair (I had not done so ALL of lockdown and guys… it was gnarly) and playing the Sims while boyfriend gamed on the XBOX.

On Monday, he worked the day shift. I spent the day cleaning, brushing MORE tangles out of my hair, working out/stretching and taking the photos for my Empties & Discards post.

When he got home, he whipped up some burgers and Annie’s Vegan Mac cups in the microwave.

Everything was scrumdiddlyumptious!!!

After dinner, I spent a good chunk of time writing my TV Show Reviews and responding to your lovely comments. ❀

When I finished up with all things WordPress, I dived back into playing the Sims!

Yesterday, boyfriend worked the day shift again. I finally, completely got ALL the worst messes out of my hair. I can’t even believe how soft and flowy it is now. LOL like, is this even my hair?!

I did my makeup with my new Colourpop palette, took about 100 photos of myself, then did my stretch/workout routine and wrote up my Empties & Discards post.

Boyfriend came through the door right when I was putting my signature in!

He made us a sheetpan with Italian Chicken Sausages wrapped in bacon.

A bit greasy but, still, yummy!!

For the rest of the night, you guessed it, we both played our games. πŸ™‚

Today, I was finally able to get my taxes done!! I had my appointment at 2:30 PM and got there just a smidge early. It was easy peasy, like every other year before, yet I always get anxiety before going. I don’t know why.

We had to pick up some household necessities from Walmart and then, we went to Sushi Zone!!! It’ll probably be our last dine out sesh for awhile but, we *needed* to curb this craving.

Plus, we had the absolute entire restaurant to ourselves, anyways. Just boyfriend, me and the few employees.

Of course, we always go for the All-You-Can-Eat option so we get to order as much as possible for one price. πŸ˜€

I also added on a Red Sangria. I had never tried theirs before; it was quite lovely. I loved the fresh fruits inside! Boyfriend had a boring old Corona beer I didn’t bother to take a picture of. πŸ˜›

We always start with a steaming bowl of Miso soup each. I was a bit too overheated to finish mine, though.

Then, we each got a plate of their freakin’ delicious Carpaccio. For each person, you are only allowed to order this once– it’s THAT good!

We shared a single order of seaweed salad. ❀

Had some Tempura Shrimp, Gyoza, and Jalapeno Poppers.

An order of Karaage that we got seconds of, later on.

Baked Mussels covered in cheese (I didn’t try them).

2 half rolls: Bonzai and Screaming Orgasm.

Another half roll: Kiss of Fire.

2 orders of Red Snapper, 1 Cajun Tuna (boyfriend’s), and 1 Mackerel (mine) Nigiri.

One last round: that second order of Karaage I mentioned (not pictured), 1 more half roll (another Screaming Orgasm), 2 orders of Coconut Shrimp, and Chashu Fried Rice.

Lastly, we each had an Affogato for dessert!! Mm, mm!! ❀

We had to make one last stop at the gas station before heading home. When we got here, we smoked a blunt, brewed some coffee, and I started typing this. πŸ™‚

Now, we’re all caught up!

Hope you’ve all been having a wonderful week and if not, I hope it gets better. ❀

    1. This took me about an hour! Sometimes it takes longer if I need to take breaks lol. My hair gets tangled & matted quickly, too. 😦 I always have it in a ponytail– I’m not that great at doing braids. πŸ˜›

  1. That red sangria looks delish! I don’t drink much alcohol … it makes me sleepy, and then I pass out. We had sushi too the other night, except it was store-bought sushi so not nearly as good as restaurant sushi.

    1. Lol! Certain types of alcohol make me sleepy, too! The red sangria was just so tasty & refreshing, it was more like juice to me. πŸ™‚ Sometimes store bought sushi can be alright!! ❀

  2. Have you found masks yet? I actually bought some off of Amazon this past week because I left mine while visiting family! Your hair mess sounds unreal and I can hardly believe that! Haha, but I’m glad you got it brushed out.

Ahh, I love the amount and variety of sushi you ordered! The sangria looks divine. The baked mussels sound like and interesting combination, and I’m not sure how I feel about them being covered in cheese. I’m sorry about you not being able to work yet. I can imagine how tough that is for you, but I hope things will open up safely for you to return in time! β™₯

    1. Yes, the masks we bought were featured in my last Friday Faves. πŸ˜‰ I was just wondering where everyone else was getting theirs lol. I’d love to see the ones you ordered off Amazon!

My hair mess was an absolute disaster 😦 I almost cried a few times & got a major headache once, too. It felt good to get it all brushed out but, now I have to keep up with it every single day so it doesn’t go back to the way it was. 😦

Can you believe our waitress said we didn’t eat much?? We thought we ate a ton lol. The sangria was sooo lovely, especially since I was so hot! Boyfriend likes those mussels covered in cheese… I’ve tried it at other places & it isn’t so bad but, def not my favorite way to have mussels. πŸ˜›

I just miss performing on stage so much!! I want to go back to work but, only when things are more “normal” so it’s okay for now, I can be patient…

      Thank you, Stephanie! ❀

  3. Ughhhh I hear you re the heat. I’ve got 90s with 70% humidity so it FEELS LIKE over 100. Thank god for AC, right?

My neighbor in L.A. made me and Mom each a washable mask + 1 extra mask so I don’t have to buy any. I just toss them in the washing machine.

Squishy and hectic is the perfect description of Walmart.

I wish we had a Sprouts here. The Asian salad kit from Walmart has a yucky dressing and I want to try that Everything but the Bagel salad!!!!

Oh jeez I forgot all about my taxes!!!! I should do that on one of the two vacation days I have left. Congrats on getting yours done and thanks for the reminder.

Sangria is one of my favorite beverages in the world but I love it so much I tend to gulp it down.

I have that Affogato on my foodie bucket list. I want to try it so bad!

    1. Seriously!! If we didn’t have AC, we’d probably die in this sort of heat.

That’s awesome that your neighbor made you guys some washable masks. πŸ™‚ We’ve been using reusable ones, too!

Lol, yes, Walmart is literal chaos. Boyfriend is always pushing & shoving in there!

The salad kit brand we get is called Taylors Farms. I don’t think it is exclusive to Sprouts but, it’s not at Walmart. πŸ˜›

LOL! Oh no! Your taxes are almost due, Jinjer!!! & thank you for the “congrats,” it def feels like an accomplishment!!

About the sangria, SAME HERE. So tasty & TOO easy to drink.

You will LOVELOVELOVE an affogato! I hope you get to try ONE soon!
