Hi there! I hope you are holding up well. ❤ It’s been exactly 1 week since I wrote my last Journal Entry.
After I published it, boyfriend and I played some video games on the XBOX together.
Sushi, of course, had to join in on the fun! 😛
On Thursday, I started playing Animal Crossing, both on the phone app and on my Nintendo 3DS. Not the newest one that everyone is talking about (because I don’t have a Switch and can’t afford one) but, still, it has been a blast. Super relaxing and cute. I get the hype.
Boyfriend made us some steak tips with baked beans and corn. It was mighty delicious.
Friday, he cooked up some thick pork chops and served them with mashed potatoes and broccoli!
I wrote up my FFF post, read a huge chunk of Coreygraphy, and caught up on some blogs on my Reader. I’m still pretty far behind but, I am so happy to have tons of unread posts while locked inside. ❤ Thank you for entertaining me!!
On Saturday, we had our first unpleasant meal…
We tried these frozen Swai fillets for the first time and they just… were not *it.* I don’t know how or why but, it tasted like a plain omelette…. and had the same texture, too. We hated it.
Boyfriend whipped up some lemon-flavored orzo and corn for the side. They saved the meal and helped me finish it all.
Sunday, we went to Albertsons, once again, to grab MORE food to fill our freezer, fridge, and cabinets. We had brats, marinara pasta, and frozen mixed veg for dinner.
I played some more Animal Crossing and was petting Sushi when I noticed a weird bump on his chin… I did hours of research and decided it was probably acne but, could not stop worrying. Luckily, the vet is still open and taking patients but, they were only allowing call-ins, from 9 AM-4 or 5 PM.
Since we haven’t been sleeping until nearly 7 AM everyday, we knew we wouldn’t wake up on time to call and set an appointment so, we decided to just stay up.
The receptionist, at first, wanted us to just drop our boy off and leave him there until they were able to see him– saying they’d call us when they were done. I said, “absolutely not, we will be accompanying him, at whatever time that’s possible.”
We also were super low on weed and the dispensary we buy from has limited their deliveries to 50 people per day. You have to order a day ahead and you have to do so within the time frame, before all 50 slots are taken up.
Since we were up to call the vet, we were up to get our order in right on time. 😀 Phew!
We were set to bring him in at 1 PM which meant… only about 2-3 hrs of sleep for us. We slept right after making the call and putting in our weed order.
We got up around 12:30 PM and put him in his carrier, he was so good and calm. Only meowing a bit in the car.
When we got there, my gosh, it was so nice to talk to other people. The receptionist was such a joy. The vet called him in quickly, determined it was acne (as we thought), and gave us some shampoo, wipes, and antibiotics to help it go away.
They shaved his little chin, too!!
Aaaaaand, of course, they had to mention that he was overweight but, the vet actually said, “it’s no big deal, we are all overweight– even I am” as he patted his own belly. LOL.
On the way home, we let him out of his carrier. He was walking around and looking out the windows, happily. I think he enjoys car rides. 😀 Benji would be straight-up howling the entire time and Twinkle would not want to leave her carrier at all.
We tried to give Sushi his antibiotic by opening the capsule and mixing the powder in some wet food but, he was smart as heck, took one lick and ignored it completely.
Benji’s crazy ass found it on the counter later and ate it all up though!! I knew I should’ve just thrown it away but, I was saving it to try to give to Sushi again. So, on top of worrying about Sushi not eating his medicine, I was worried about Benji sneakily eating it?? I don’t get HOW or WHY he didn’t mind the taste!!
Sushi, I guess, is so stuck up sometimes (especially about food… believe it or not!) and Benji WILL eat anything, even if it’s doused in Blazin’ sauce from BWW. I don’t get him.
BUT, both of them are perfectly fine, health-wise. Thankfully.
When we got home, we didn’t even take a nap. I watched the entire Season 03 of On My Block and then, started the film, Big Time Adolescence.
Boyfriend made us a steak with fries and corn for dinner.
I had a small headache so I ended up turning the film off before it was over and went to lay down in our bed. Boyfriend joined me and almost fell asleep but, by then, my headache had disappeared and I wasn’t ready to sleep for the rest of the nigh soooo, I woke him up and we went back out into the living room. 😀
I watched some more of the film and played a bit of Animal Crossing until we went to bed, around 5 AM.
Yesterday, we called the vet and asked if there was another way to get Sushi to take his pill. They told us if he was detecting it in the food, we had to force-open his mouth and get it in there. Sadly, it pained me so bad but, we did have to do it that way.
Boyfriend held his mouth open and I had to get the pill in, he pushed it out with his tongue about 3 times before we finally got him to swallow. We gave him some wet food as a treat afterwards and he quickly forgave us.
For dinner, we had lovely beef fajita burritos and some rice, that didn’t turn out too well…
I spent my night watching the newest episodes of Good Girls and The Voice then, finished Big Time Adolescence and moved onto Season 02 of The End of the F***ing World.
I had a few episodes left when it was time for bed.
I started a new book, Little Monsters, before falling asleep.
Today, we woke up around 2 PM. I took a shower, played Animal Crossing, and then did my stretch and workout routine. I should probably start doing it every single day now since I’m getting NO exercise otherwise!
Benji was laying on my mat the entire time and would not move, no matter how many times I nudged him!
For dinner, boyfriend made us these awesome teriyaki chicken thighs and steak seasoned asparagus.
We watched EOTFW while eating and then, I started typing this when I finished.
I’m disappointed because The Smith Center sent out e-mails about all their upcoming shows and announced that the rest of my Broadway season has been cancelled, not even postponed. I really was dying to see Mean Girls and The Band’s Visit wasn’t even scheduled until late-June so I feel like they could’ve held off on deciding for that one. But, oh well, hopefully they give me my refund soon.
They have closed all call centers and are only working by e-mail so we will see how long that takes. They haven’t responded yet and I’m kind of annoyed but, I also totally understand that there’s tons of subscription holders sending them the same e-mail. I’ll have to be patient.
I’m even more disappointed in my apartments because they did *not* give any sort of leniency towards rent payments. Instead, they put up a sign in their office, listing the places who are hiring.
Honestly, I probably should find one of those jobs BUT, I do not want to get sick and be in contact with people every single day!!
Initially, cats and dogs were excluded from being able to catch the virus but, data has come up and the first cat, one in Belgium, tested positively. That truly terrifies me.
We still have another appointment, too, to check up on how Sushi’s acne is doing (on the 6th). I get paranoid that you could have 0 symptoms, test negative, and/or not know for 24 whole days! I hate that!
If his chin is cleared up by then, we may just not go. We do not need anymore exposure, y’know?
Two of my aunts in MN got letters from work, informing them that they had been exposed. One of them went to get the test. She said she sat in her car and they came to her window, stuffed a super long q-tip through her nose, all the way to the back of her head. She said it was extremely uncomfortable, which I could only imagine… so seriously, guys. Stay safe and clean!!!! You do not want to have to do that.
I’m really hoping we won’t all of a sudden need something and have to go out again. We are so ill prepared for this pandemic, we just need to get our shit together, for real. 😛
Please, wish Sushi’s acne away so we don’t have to go back to the vet!! ❤ Thank you in advance and have a great rest of your week!!
