March 25, 2020
Hello there beautiful people!! It’s been about 10 days since I last wrote a Journal Entry. Obviously, things have drastically changed since then, due to the worldwide pandemic.
My job shut its doors on March 18th and claims that they’ll reopen in 30 days from then. I would love to go back and have things be the way they were before but, unless we are *all clear* of this virus, I won’t feel safe. It doesn’t seem like that amount of time will be long enough for this all to go away. Especially with so many people refusing to follow social distancing rules.
Boyfriend and I have been staying at home as much as possible since the 16th. I was working up until that point because admittedly, I was not taking this deadly virus seriously. Now, I’m not only worried about my dire financial situation but, I’m also paranoid that I’ll have symptoms showing up in a week.
I feel healthy as ever but, I’ve read enough articles to scare me…
On Sunday the 15th, I went to work just knowing it was going to be one of my last days. I was so so so freakin’ lucky to meet an awesomely generous army man. He bought us a bottle of Patrón and spent his entire night with me in the VIP rooms. We ended around 3 AM and we first started talking around 11 PM.
We were almost the only people in the club the whole night and the only ones upstairs for most of the time, too. Our crowds were getting smaller and smaller as the week progressed.
When boyfriend picked me up, we made our very last restaurant outing!!
We chose Viet Noodle Bar, of course, and it was SO empty… I nearly cried. There was literally ONE other customer besides us…
We had an order of egg rolls, spring rolls, and vermicelli salad– all to share. ❤
I’m glad we were able to support them and eat their food one last time. I miss them so much already!
The next night, Monday the 16th, was my very last one at work. 😦 There was a group of men from Singapore who were stuck in Vegas for another week until their country would let them return. I spent the night at their table, playing drinking games while one of the men paid me to just sit there with/entertain them until they left.
Looking back, I should’ve pushed for more! I just… did not think it was going to be the last amount of income I would make. All of my managers, DJs, house moms, even co-workers were saying that we wouldn’t close down, like, no matter what and they were so sure of it, too.
Until… we did. Tuesday the 17th, was the last night we were open but by then, I had already read too much about how quickly the germs were spreading. I couldn’t bring myself to go back anymore.
I wanted to stay indoors and never go outside again on this day. My panic and anxiety were at an all-time high.
We went to Albertsons to pick up some more food, for us, and another bag for the cats, too. I had tears in my eyes while there because I didn’t want to be so close to other people, lol. Like I said, I was freaking out, okay? Even though *I* was the one who was stupidly giving lap dances just the day before…
We also stocked up on more weed, water, and blunt wraps on the way home.
Boyfriend’s been making us dinners off the top of his head with no recipes whatsoever, and each one has been SO wonderful. I am more than lucky to have such a chef in the house during this!! ❤
For our first night “locked in,” he made us beer brats on egg buns with baked beans and canned green beans. It was simple yet, extremely satisfying.
On Wednesday the 18th AKA Day #2, he made us a seriously delicious and heartwarming chicken noodle soup.
It was actually the best one I’ve ever tasted. Better than any that I’ve ever featured in my Recipe Reviews, and I’m not just sayin’ that!!
Thursday the 19th, we heated up the soup leftovers and ate the rest of it.
On the 20th, he made us breakfast steaks with onions, potato fries, and frozen mixed veg.
It was fantastic, you guys!! His fries were so cute (and tasty). 🙂
At midnight, it was officially boyfriend’s 25th birthday!! I had luckily remembered to pick up the mini assorted cheesecake for him when we were at Albertsons so when the time came, I lit a match and stuck it into his individual piece for him to blow out (after singing “Happy Birthday”).
He chose strawberry, I chose the super chocolatey one. They were alright but, not very cheesey, if you ask me!
On the 21st, I said “happy birthday, babe!!” every hour. 😉 Not even exaggerating!
For dinner, he made us each a chicken breast, a medley of baked baby potatoes, and broccoli.
When we finished eating, we played some XBOX games together until it was around 11 PM… then, we poured up some cocktails!!
We played this Harry Potter drinking game that Rossy sent to me for Deathly Hallows Part 1 and were out of alcohol by like, almost an hour in. The amount of times they said “horcrux” was ridiculous!! We got pretty wasted. 😀
Before it was even over, I decided to turn off the film and told boyfriend to choose two songs for me to dance to. I put my hair in a cute bun and wore his fave little slinky, black and purple, see-through lace dress. I came out when the song started playing, I’m pretty sure he chose one by Halsey and uh… we never did get to the second one. 😛
He woke up the next day with a smile on his face and said, “that was fun last night.” ❤ My heart melted. I was so happy that we were able to find a way to celebrate while stuck at home, but, I still feel sad that I couldn’t take him out for a nice dinner or some fancy cocktails like he so deserves.
Probably before or during Harry Potter (can’t remember), he made us these tuna salad sandwiches for a snack. Again, I’m not just saying this but, it was the *best* one I’ve ever had and he made it all on his own!!
The chips were Cape Cod’s Sweet and Spicy Jalapeño flavor.
On the 22nd, boyfriend’s mom was so, so generous, kind, caring etc. She sent us a bit of money through Walmart. I wasn’t very happy about having to go there but, we had to get it somehow, right?
I let boyfriend go in there alone and waited for him in the car. Afterwards, we went to Albertsons (yet again) to pick up even more food so we could stay at home without going out to shop for as long as possible.
We were able to score a 4 pack of toilet paper and 1 pack of ground chicken while there, too!! Woohoo!!
That night, boyfriend made us a chicken marinara pasta.
On Monday, he made us honey, soy, lime-flavored salmon, popcorn shrimp, and cut green beans.
I was super impressed, especially since everything was bought frozen!!
Yesterday, he made us a ground chicken stir-fry with the last of our brown rice.
Aaaaaand TODAY, he made us a perfectly crispy kielbasa sheet pan!!
Other than eating, I’ve spent most of my time playing video games… on PC, Nintendo 3DS, XBOX, and even my phone. I’ve found a few good ones I’ll share with you on Friday. 🙂
I also started reading a new book last night even though I still haven’t finished Love, Rosie. It’s was just dragging on for me and I’m already really into this new one. I’ll probably share it with you on Friday, as well!
TV’s been a bit of a bore to me, honestly, but, I did watch mostly all of the Good Girls S3 episodes that are currently available on Hulu and have been keeping up with The Voice and Masked Singer.
We haven’t watched a season of The Voice in the longest but, with the addition of Nick Jonas as a judge, it made me want to check it out again. Adam Levine was so annoying to me anyways, and the new banter between Blake and Nick is even better and funnier! I’m glad we tuned in but, I’m concerned that there will be no ending (due to this pandemic)? Or has the winner already been chosen? I thought the finale was live? I don’t know. If you do, please, ease my mind.
If you didn’t notice, I have been taking lots of pictures of my cats, too. We’ve been spending all our days together so it’s hard not to, lol. I’ll save some for the next post, though. 🙂
Hope you all are safe, well, and stocked up!! ❤
P.S. We’ve been waking up so late, like, 5 PM everyday so my posts have been going up way, way later than usual. Sorry!!
