Tekken (2010)

tekken movie

“Jin Kazama witnesses the death of his mother Jun by Tekken in the slums known as Anvil. After finding a Tekken ID he decides to seek out vengeance for his mother’s death.” (via IMDb)

The whole story is completely different than the games but, I didn’t mind. I’ve been playing Tekken since the very first one and seeing the characters come to life was enough for me. Their costumes were SO spot-on, I couldn’t believe it! I approve of every single actor chosen for this film. Especially Jin, my gosh, that man was handsome. The chemistry he had with his costars was a pleasure to watch, if you catch my drift.

There were plenty of action scenes and it was one of those plot lines that have you on the edge of your seat, at all times. The city of Anvil was dark and dreary yet, somehow, homey. I was absolutely fond of that setting. There’s a sequel that I’m planning to watch in the future.

MY RATING: 4 out of 5

Frankie & Alice (2010)

“A drama centered on a go-go dancer with multiple personality disorder who struggles to remain her true self and begins working with a psychotherapist to uncover the mystery of the inner ghosts that haunt her.” (via IMDb)

I have watched nearly every program that focuses on D.I.D. They were all extremely engaging and oh, so interesting. When I saw Frankie & Alice and read the synopsis, I pressed “play” right away.

Sadly, it was the most BORING and I really don’t get what people see in Halle Berry. Her acting was terrible and extremely overdone. I am not a fan. There weren’t many other characters besides her and her therapist, either. The plot was slow-going and I’m sorry to say but, it was unsatisfying. I expected more.

MY RATING: 1 out of 5

A Girl Like Grace (2015)

a girl like grace

“Raised by a single mother, a bullied 17 year-old girl seeks guidance from her best friend and the girl’s older sister.” (via IMDb)

I cried, I cried, I cried. A Girl Like Grace was such a dark film. My heart is breaking just thinking about it. Even though it was more in the “indie” genre, there were quite a few big name actresses and actors featured. Ryan Destiny and Meagan Good were just excellent– I love them both so much.

When I chose to watch this, I was NOT expecting to go through as many emotions as I did. I would not have survived if I were Grace; that’s all I have to say.

MY RATING: 3.5 out of 5

  1. I know you don’t have Amazon Prime (I don’t either; I use my mom’s account πŸ™‚ ), but there’s a movie I watched on there recently called Life Itself. O.M.G. So good! If you can find it, I would highly recommend it. I also Redboxed Hustlers recently and of course thought of you. Have you seen it? What are your thoughts?
