Wow! The time has seriously flown by so fast today. I cannot believe it’s already past 9 PM! Has anyone ever had Starbucks’ Morning Joe ground coffee? Because, I’m drinking it right now, and man, is it strong. If you know me, you know I NEVER put any milk or cream in my coffee but, a dash of almond milk is necessary with this one, even for me.
On Saturday night, after I published my last Journal Entry, I got to work around midnight and stayed until nearly 5 AM… against my own will. I was paid for half an hour of my time but, due to my bouncer’s negligence… did about an hour or MORE of free labor. I mean, we were taking shots back to back and listening to music the entire time so I was too drunk to even realize until the next day but, honestly, I’m STILL livid. It’s been weighing on my mind ever since.
I can’t even blame my intoxication because it wouldn’t have mattered if I had complained about it at the time anyways. They probably would’ve said, “oh shit, sorry!” but, I also kind of can because if I were sober, I would’ve noticed how much time was passing. It’s truly NOT my job to keep track of the time though. We aren’t even allowed to wear watches or carry our phones and there are NO clocks in the VIP rooms??? I don’t know. I hate to be taken advantage of/walked all over but, I will just let karma do her work on him. I’ll smile and wave next time we speak but, he is definitely on the “shit list” in my head.
When boyfriend picked me up, we headed to Barcode Burger where we had the WORST server/bartender. He gave me mine with cheese on it and when I asked for a new one, he was like, “oh, I put that down but, the cook must’ve missed it so it wasn’t my fault.” I had question mark in my eyes because I did NOT care whose fault it was. If I had even taken a single bite, a stomach ache I never asked for would’ve ensued. Only I get to choose when I have my dairy, okay??
While I waited for my new burger, I devoured most of our BBQ Wings. ❤
Boyfriend had his usual bar-named burger. We’re quite disappointed because they now serve regular ketchup instead of the sriracha mixed one they used to make in house…
I had the Hangover with an over-fried egg and over-seasoned patty. He didn’t give me any new fries so I had to let the ones from the first burger sit and get cold… which sucked. I like to have bites full of both burger and fries.
I hope we do not end up there on his shift again… not only did he make me angry but, I feel sorta bad for stiffing him on a tip lol, even if he didn’t deserve a bigger one. 😛
On Sunday, I really did NOTHING. I was sliiiightly hungover and extra lazy. I ate, napped, and watched TV all day.
Monday, I awoke around noon and spent some time reading your blogs! I’ve gotten way behind again and I wish I weren’t. I miss being up-to-date with you all. 😦
After my “morning routine” (shower, smoke, stretch/workout), I played a bit of Disneyland Adventures while boyfriend made us tacos for dinner. They were meant to be these boujee “pockets” but they, didn’t work out lol. Still tasted good though.
When we finished up eating, we went to Starbucks to get some dessert lattes. I got my Almondmilk Honey Flat White with 4 shots of espresso again and boyfriend went with a White Chocolate Mocha with 5 shots of espresso this time.
Hot drinks in hand (and car cup holder), we drove to Ethel M. Chocolates Factory!! We have always wanted to go and finally, our time came. They have a really gorgeous cactus garden that they decorate with string lights every year for Valentine’s Day, it’s free and open to the public. They call it the “Lights of Love.” ❤
PERSONALLY, I was expecting way more pinks and reds, more lovey dovey shapes. There were some snowflakes up that reminded me of Christmas time instead??
We could tell from a distance that the garden wasn’t going to take long to walk through so, we went into the factory/gift shop first.
It was a LOT bigger than I thought it was going to be and they had all kinds of different chocolaty goodies, my gosh. Behind the wooden slated walls is a little walkway where you can go through and watch them work!
I didn’t see anyone doing anything but, I did get to see this HUGE slab of fudge sitting in the middle of a table. Check it out (below)!!
And… up the mini set of stairs, there was more galore!!
I KNEW we were getting a variety pack of mini chocolates but, we could NOT decide how we were going to go about it. We roamed around for a bit, checking out the premade boxes and got a delicious toffee sample and a mediocre solid milk chocolate coin while we were at it!
The baked goods were hard to resist but, I knew eating one would spoil my appetite for the mini chocolates…
Which we ended up hand picking out of a case and creating our own box of 12. 😀
They had different heart shaped packaging available, too, made out of satin and tin. They were super cute but, even without paying for anything extra, this little box was already adorable. ❤
I wouldn’t say the taste of these little guys are worth flying all the way over here to Las Vegas for and I’m sure there are places with more variety and higher quality but, it’s all about the experience, isn’t it? And, we had such a good one!!! ❤
I’m gonna try to remember all the flavors we chose just by looking at them so skip this paragraph if you don’t give a hoot! From left to right: dark chocolate almond, dark chocolate honey truffle, dark chocolate chewy caramel, milk chocolate filled w/ PB&J, dark chocolate peanut cluster, dark chocolate espresso truffle, milk chocolate bourbon, almond butter brittle, milk chocolate peanut butter, milk chocolate caramel, dark chocolate agave tequila, and a milk chocolate pecan cluster.
We also picked out this crazy dipped Caramel Apple with Chocolate & Peanuts. I have to say, it was kind of nasty. The chocolate was so overpoweringly sweet, I actually picked it off and just ate the apple with the caramel and peanuts. Oops…
Once we purchased our sweets, we took a stroll through the 3 acres of lights and cacti. 😀
Like I said, I wasn’t the most impressed because I wanted to see more of a theme. It’s kind of like they put up whatever they had in their closets!
I did spot some ‘XOXO’s that were more approriately colored. There were two but, the one I took a photo of (below) is the only one that was lit up… 😛
Anyways, I hope I’m not sounding negative. We had such a beautiful time together, truly, I’m just being honest about what I saw and tasted!
On our way out, this lady actually FORCED us to take a selfie in front of this round flower ‘LOVE’ sculpture…
She was nearly on the backs of our feet while walking behind us and as we got closer to this thing, she shouted, “okay, if you guys don’t take a selfie in front of this, I’m gonna just take one of you!” So… to appease her and in HOPES of making her disappear (and NOT take pictures of us…), we took this selfie on my phone in front her:
But, WTF… you guys, she just stood there and stared at us the whole time. She didn’t walk away OR even offer to take one for us?! After we snapped our shot, she told us to move over to another side for a better angle… and, since we were trying our best to be polite, we stood where she suggested and took another one VERY quickly and… STILL, she just stood there with NO offer to help out or any sign of walking away soon?! When she, once again, suggested another selfie spot at a “better” angle of this ‘LOVE’ thing… I put my phone down and said, “we’re going to go in the store now, thanks for your suggestions– our pictures turned out great!” LOL.
We really didn’t need to go back in the store but, since we did to get away from her, we got a black coffee to share. It was gross, especially compared to the delicious Starbucks we JUST had. We did not need more caffeine anyways so I’m glad it wasn’t the best. 😛
On our way home, we made a stop at the dispensary and I wrote some drafts for future posts and read some of your blogs for the rest of night!
Yesterday, I was awake by 11 AM. I browsed the web for pieces to include in my 10 V-Day Outfits post, took a shower, and played Disneyland Adventures while boyfriend made us a sweet and sour stir-fry with pork and butternut squash.
When we finished eating, I played a bit more of my Disney game and then, wrote our shopping list. We went to Sprouts to pick everything up and then, I spent most of my night putting together yesterday’s post. It took forever and a day but, I had a blast!!
Today, when I woke up, I had work on my agenda for the night. I even shaved in the shower and everything but, of course, right after dinner my Auntie Flo came for her monthly visit.
I haven’t done much besides play video games and watch Love Island.
What are YOU doing for Valentine’s Day? Even if you don’t have a date, why not treat yourself? ❤ Self-love needs to be celebrated, too!
P.S. Sorry my blog is now spammed with ads all over, I did not want/need to renew my Personal Plan and this is how WordPress repays me (and all of us who are on the free site plan). 😦
