10 Valentine’s Day Outfits & Date Ideas

Hello Loves! According to my 2020 Blog Schedule, I know that Tuesday’s are meant for ALL THINGS BEAUTY but, fashion is closely related enough (at least, in my book)!

Since Valentine’s Day is THIS very Friday, I came up with 10 date ideas that can easily be planned last minute. For each one, I created photo collages with the clothing and accessory pieces I would wear! Thank you to Anna @ Anna’s Little Thing for the inspiration. ❀ Check out her different outfits: here.

#1. Fancy prix fixe dinner

Most “fancy” steakhouses have special multiple course menus for couples this holiday. They are usually served at fixed rates and include an appetizer, entree, dessert, and often times, even more.

Reserve your table before they all fill up and see if you can add-on anything special for your loved one while you’re at it!

vday 1

Shoulder Shrug: Betsey Johnson – Faux-Fur Shrug in Ivory (Macy’s)
Dress: Mac Duggal – Fit & Flare Party Dress in White (Nordstrom)
Purse: Parrawe – Crossbody Bag in Medium Red (ALDO)
Bracelet: 18k Gold-Over-Sterling Silver Diamond Accent Heart Bracelet (Kohl’s)
Heels: Kenneth Cole – Women’s Riley Double Ankle Strap Pumps (Bloomingdale’s)
Earrings: Everlasting Gold – 10k Heart Hoops (Kohl’s)
Nails: Zoya – Nail Polish in Maura (Photo Credit @Mari Lumme) (Zoya)

#2. Watch movies at home with all the essential snacks, sweets, and drinks

Popcorn, chocolate, something chewy, fruity, and sour, y’know? All the easy to pop in your mouth sweets and treats need to be within arm’s reach during the entire night. Either rent from RedBox or search the many streaming services you’re subscribed to. If you aren’t subscribed to any, check out Tubi. It’s free and has so many movies I’ve never seen.

Don’t forget the biggest and coziest blanket you BOTH can fit under, too. πŸ˜‰

Pajama Set: Anais – Lace Trim Hammered Satin Short Pajamas in Pink (Nordstrom)
Bracelet: Nashelle – Mini Coin Bracelet in Silver (Nordstrom)
Slippers: Fuzzy Babba – Women’s Chenille Slipper Socks w/ Pom Pom (Fuzzy Babba)
Rings: Cheryl – Stacking Ring Set (Francesca’s)

#3. Go to the movies and the arcade/bowling

There are surprisingly a handful of interesting looking films to watch in theaters right now! I’d probably choose The Invisible Man because I almost had an accident just watching the trailer and I love to torture myself. I mean, have you freakin’ seen it? Imagine that happening to you! PLUS… you want to get a little scared so you can grab and hide behind your date, right?

Dave & Buster’s is my #1 arcade recommendation, which you can go to before or after. Depends on the time of your viewing! A movie just isn’t enough quality time together.

vday 3

Sweater: Free People – BFF Cowl Neck Sweater in Bittersweet (Nordstrom)
Earrings: Ailsa PavΓ© – Crystal Heart Studs (Francesca’s)
Skirt: JDY – Denim Zip Detail Mini Skirt (ASOS)
Socks: YOUNEEDTHAT – Ruffle Socks in Burgundy (Amazon)
Sneakers: ASOS DESIGN – Dusty Lace Up Sneakers in Warm Beige (ASOS)
Purse: Niyah Diamond – Quilted Crossbody in Red (Francesca’s)

#4. Have an indoor picnic and watch all your favorite rom-coms

Get a big (preferably checkered) blanket and set it out in front of the TV, where the couch would normally be. Make sandwiches, cut meat and cheese into slices for little crackers, wash and mix a bowl of different fruits, make homemade sangria– whatever you want, then, bring it all out, flatlay the plates on the blankie, and watch all the rom-coms you own or that Netflix has to offer.

Top: Hollister Co. – Wrap-Hem Ultra Crop Top in White (Hollister)
Socks: MartimaHandMade – Lace Socks in White (Etsy)
Bottoms: Evonne – Pleated Satin Skirt (Francesca’s)
Necklace: Marlise – Crystal Station Choker (Francesca’s)

#5. Book a nearby hotel for the night and order room service or bring in takeaway

For one night, a nice hotel is so worth it! Spice it up by staying in a whole different space and spending quiet, alone time together. Bring food from your favorite restaurant or order room service so you can make the most of your stay.

Dress: Lauren Conrad – Slip Dress (Kohl’s)
Necklace: Kara Heart – Station Layered Necklace (Francesca’s)

#6. Surprise your Valentine with a new, never before seen, sexy lingerie set along with a dirty card, drinking, and/or board game

Instead of changing the scene, find a new matching lingerie set for yourself and stay in. Don’t jump into “anything” straight away, have the frisky games at hand and start the tease!

Bra and Panty Set: Enny Contour in Pink (Adore Me)
Elsie Glitzy – Cupchain Linear Earrings (Francesca’s)
Legwear: Married Bianco in White (Adore Me)

#7. Keep it more PG and have a marathon of the most popular board games or video games

If you’re not comfortable sitting around in your bra and undies all night, put on something cute and comfy and play vanilla games like Monopoly, Mario Kart, Cards Against Humanity, etc.

Top: Norine – Varsity Stripe Sweater in Pink (Francesca’s)
Earrings: Alisa CZ – Mini Heart Studs (Francesca’s)
Socks: Colorblocked Crew Socks in Golden Turmeric (Aerie)
Bottoms: Skinny Fleece Jogger Pants in Oatmeal (Hollister)

#8. Hit up your local strip club and get a couple’s dance or two, maybe even bottle service and a VIP room

Both of you can have a blast if you find the right dancer and you treat her right! Even if you go just to watch and hang out solely with each other, most clubs have bottle service specials going on this Friday and it’s more entertaining than any regular old nightclub.

Top: Hannah Black – Red Eyelash Lace Corset Bralet (Pretty Little Thing)
Earrings: Aja – Crystal Double Heart Drop Earrings (Francesca’s)
Purse: Tai – Suede Flap O Ring Clutch in Red (Francesca’s)
Bottoms: Florentine – Faux Leather Paperbag Jumpsuit (Francesca’s)
Heels: Jessica Simpson – Jivero Sandal in Gold Metallic (DSW)
Bracelets: 18kt Gold Over Sterling Jewelry Set (Ross Simons)

#9. Find a play, musical, or comedy show to attend

There are always themed shows going on for this one day only. Search Groupon, Google, Eventbrite for what’s going on near you and buy your tickets quickly!

Top: Kelly Crochet – Peplum Blouse (Francesca’s)
Top Shop – Carly Long Coat in Light Pink (Nordstrom Rack)
Necklace: Mailee – Heart Key Pendant Necklace (Francesca’s)
Bottoms: Harper Heritage – Medium Wash Stretch Skinny Jeans (Francesca’s)
Shoes: CL by Laundry Studio – D’Orsay Flat in Nude (Francesca’s)
Mira CZ – Linear Earrings (Francesca’s)

#10. Go bar hopping and try all the special V-Day themed cocktails

I LOVE bars and lounges that make specialty cocktails especially when they are limited edition, pink, red, and heart-filled. Go to two or three and challenge yourself to try ONLY the Valentine’s Day drinks.

Hair Accessory: Lexi – Hair Bow Clip (Francesca’s)
Raye – Layered Drop Necklace (Francesca’s)
Kissy – Pave Heart Linear Earrings (Francesca’s)
Audra – Sweetheart Floral Dress (Francesca’s)
Booties: MIA – Liam Heeled Hiker Boot (Francesca’s)
Purse: Briar – Mini Satchel in Nude (Francesca’s)

Which date would YOU most love to go on? Which pieces are your favorite? Do we have the same style or totally different ones?

    1. Isn’t that dress just gorgeous?? ❀ & I think prix fixe menus are my fave part about the holidays lol. I've heard such good things about Melting Pot, there's one near us & I'd love to go sometime. πŸ™‚ You should totally look up your city's Restaurant Week for more prix fixe menus, too!!

  1. These are some fabulous ideas and you’ve really catered for relationships of all different stages! I especially love the outfit you’ve put together for date number 1 – it’s gorgeous! We’re having a night in this Valentine’s Day – restaurants are always so busy it just ends up getting a bit stressful so we’re getting some nice food in and just having a few drinks, potentially going out for dinner in a few nights’ time! xx

    1. Aw thank you! I’m so glad you thought these were fab ideas. ❀ #1 really is so gorgeous, isn't it? I'd feel like a movie star all dressed up like that!

I totally get why you guys are doing the night in instead of going out. The crowds really do get a bit stressful! & you guys will have just as much fun at home anyways. πŸ™‚ The restaurants will always be open!

I’m obsessed with that white flared dress from Nordstrom, as well as the ENTIRE outfit for the bowling / arcade date as that is def my vibe!!

Hope you have a wonderful day / evening celebrating! πŸ’œ

    1. Aw yay!!! I’m so happy you liked how I put the outfits together & that I was able to capture the vibe for each date. πŸ˜€ ❀ The flared white dress is gorgeous, isn't it? & yesss, I almost bought that denim skirt in the outfit– it's TOO cute & nothing beats an arcade/bowling date!! ❀

Thank you so much, LP!! ❀ ❀

  3. Look #3 is my favourite, it’s casual and cute! Ideas 3 and 4 are also great go to’s for an easy way to spend quality time together. I don’t know if I should admit this on the internet but idea #6 reminds me of the time I played strip Trivial Pursuit, if a person got a question wrong they had to remove something and if they got it right they could put an item of clothing back on. Keeps the mystery for a while that’s for sure πŸ˜›

Hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day! ❀

    1. Yes, look #3 is one I’d probably wear any day, whether I’m on a date or not. πŸ™‚ & I’d love to do an indoor picnic sometime, I’ve done it with a friend before but, never boyfriend!

So fun that you played strip Trivial Pursuit before!! Super exciting & the tease makes the good part even better, doesn’t it? πŸ˜‰

      Thank you, Chanelle! You too!

  4. Happy Valentine’s Day, Hunida! Lots of fun ideas and outfits! You’re seriously just full of creativity πŸ™‚

What are you guys doing to celebrate Valentine’s Day?! We’re going to put our names in a hat (me, Jimmy, and Sadie, lol) and draw one and then shop for each other with a price limit (like $10 or something!) and exchange gifts and cook a dinner together! ❀

    1. Happy Valentine’s Day, Allie!! πŸ™‚ Thank you, it was so much fun putting this post together!!

I’ll be writing a journal entry of all that we got up to later tonight. πŸ™‚ That’s so cute that you guys celebrated with Sadie & did the drawing for gifts! I hope you guys had the most lovely night. ❀ I already know that your dinner must've been amazing!

  5. Oh my goodness I love the idea of a white dress (exactly as the first one) but I also hate the idea of wearing white for dinner lol. Too afraid of getting it dirty. Also, the red heels you paired with that white dress are right up my alley too
#2, #3 and #7 just look so cozy to me, love it! I think #7 is more me lol.
I wish I had the body for a corset bralette. I think those are so fucking cute but eh lol
Ah #10 is also my kind of style. You are so right, we do seem to have similar style when it comes to clothes and accessories lol.

    1. Lol! Right? My mom used to never let me wear white because it gets dirty/stained too easily so I usually never wear it but, man, that dress caught my eye. ❀ I'd so wear it if I were less of a messy eater. & aren't those heels perfect?!? I don't own any pointy toed shoes but, I think I'm starting to appreciate the style a bit more as I get older.

I want one of those corset bralettes but, they get ruined so easily/you can't really wash them. πŸ˜› & I am sure Alex would LOVE you in one!!!!

& I don't think I have one certain style but I really do think you & I like a lot of the same pieces & accessories. πŸ˜€ ❀

      1. There were a lot of events we would go to or would be invited to and I remember my mom always forcing me into dresses and white clothes. I hated it haha.
I wasnt into the pointy heels either until I got my first pair a few years ago. Then again it seemed natural as I dont like wearing open toes shoes AT ALL. And even so, I prefer booties anyway, they are my go to. I might get another pair lol.
Ah really? Is it because they are lacey?
Haha right, me neither, I have different styles too but for the most part, we seem to like the same kinds of clothes more or less.

        1. Oh my gosh. You must have been a very good kid to be able to wear white LOL my mom would NEVER let me. πŸ˜‚ & I’ve never owned a pair of pointy toed anything but I love booties, too!!

Yeah, the lace & the stringy/ribbony parts always get frayed! & I totally agree, I always love everything you’re wearing!!

          1. Nah, my mom would get pissed as would my auntie haha. They would yell at me like “I thought I told you to be careful” but I mean, I was a kid haha. Guilty for doing the same with Ciel haha, he doesn’t know any better.
I went shopping for a dress today and Alex got a new button up and a vest. Cannot wait to wear it Saturday lol I will definitely try to have Alex take photos of my outfit πŸ˜€
