Hello lovies!! Merry Christmas Eve, if you celebrate it. ❤
Twinkle Star loves her little bell toy connected to the end of the red string (poking out from under her). She’s always carrying it around in her mouth, chasing/batting it, licking it “clean,” and snuggling/sleeping with it… makes my heart melt. ❤
For Christmas we bought her two new little toys with bells on them. I doubt she’ll ditch her favorite baby but, hopefully, she’ll play with them at least a little. The green one with the furry tail is for Sushi because he loves to groom and snuggle little toys like that, too, if Benji doesn’t destroy them first! They’ll all share the catnip and each get a special Rachael Ray dinner. Sushi and Twinkie are very picky about their treats and wet food but, everything Rachael Ray has been approved by them, so far!
We also got them this little Jungle Party that we hope will distract them from their cardboard boxes (but, I doubt it)… hey, look! Benji already claimed it by modeling for the box cover. 😉
Of course, they don’t get to eat their dinner or play with their new things until tomorrow!!
Last time I wrote was Saturday… after I published my Entry, I went and got ready for work. I had a small cocktail before leaving and got there around 11:30ish PM.
I found a fun table of Asian men to hang out with. At first, they had a bottle of Grey Goose but, once they drank it all, I suggested Patrón aaaand well, we all know it was a blur from there. Still, turned out to be the best night out of the 3 I worked all week.
And, the best part was… I didn’t even wake up with a hangover on Sunday BECAUSE…
When boyfriend picked me up that night, we went to eat at Viet Noodle Bar. 🙂 He wanted a whole plate of Spring Rolls to himself so we ordered two. I couldn’t finish all of mine so, we asked them to wrap the leftovers in saran wrap and they were as good as new the next day!
Boyfriend got his Vermicelli Noodle Salad with pork, beef, and egg rolls.
I got the pho with no fatty pieces, just beef and tripe. Sorry it was very messy looking but, hey, that’s kinda how I was feeling. LOL.
We also ordered hot tea to drink (not pictured). This time, I had to ask if they use the same tea my mom makes at home and guess what? The server that always chats with us showed us the tin and… I WAS RIGHT; they do!!
On Sunday, when we woke up, it was already pitch black outside. It was just a little past 4 PM and rain was pouring down. Boyfriend made us a chicken and dumpling soup for dinner while I wrote up my latest Recipe Reviews. When we finished eating and I got that published, we watched Love Island AUS together for the rest of the night.
Yesterday, boyfriend tried his hand at making tortillas into hard taco bowls– they turned out rather well and I’m super looking forward to sharing the recipe he followed with you guys! It was… interesting.
I spent my entire night, after writing a short book review, catching up with your blogs. I couldn’t believe how fast the time flew!! Everyone I follow is so talented, engaging, and creative. ❤ I can’t believe I was nearly 2 months behind and now, only 2 days! Hopefully, that will never happen again.
I ended my night with a sheet mask. 😀
Today, I woke up with a roaring tummyache around 11 AM. I forgot to mention that boyfriend went and got us strawberry milkshakes from Jack in the Box around 1 AM last night… hehe. I only drank half of a small because it was all I could handle… but, hey, everything happens for a reason because since I was awake, I heard the knock on our door and was able to retrieve a package from my sweet, sweet friend, Stephanie. Earlier in the week, I accidentally slept through the knock for my BFF, Rossy’s, package so I am very glad that didn’t happen again. It stressed me out so much to miss it!! Am I the only one who gets this way about mail? It’s exactly why I rarely online shop, lol.
All morning I read more blogs on my Reader
while taking numerous trips to the toilet. Boyfriend woke up around 3 PM and we laid around for about an hour before I took a shower and found a new Thai restaurant to eat at.
I couldn’t believe that Kinnara was right next door to the dispensary we always go to! It opened 5 months ago and we never noticed it?
The interior was styled in the very modern, industrial, minimalistic, woody, planty way that all new restaurants are nowadays. There was a Thai touch here and there though, and I can’t lie– that hanging plant over the light at the front desk (above) looks pretty awesome.
I was craving spicy food so everything I ordered, I added, “very, very spicy” to the end of it. 🙂
Papaya Salad had been the #1 thing on my mind for awhile so, I knew I had to give theirs a shot. There were full-sized, green Thai chili peppers in there and gosh, you already know how pleased I was about that. Here’s a close-up just because it was so pretty:
I was actually satisfied with the level of spice and, the flavor, I rate it a 10 out of 10! Seriously! It was so yummy, crunchy, and fresh. The sour and salty balance was so spot on, too. I usually prefer the Laos-style, which is smellier with weirder ingredients, but I could really dig this one (do people still say that?). We (well, mostly, I) cleared the entire plate.
Their Chicken Tom Kha Soup was a little on the sweet side, even though we could tell they tried to spice it up with all the useless crushed red pepper. It served as a nice palate cleanser/cool down from the salad but, I would have been pretty disappointed if I had ordered it on its own. Luckily, we only shared the small size.
They called this dish Fire Dept. Noodles on their menu. I had a feeling it would be the same or, at least, similar to Drunken Noodles/Pad Kee Mao and woohoo!! I was right again!! They didn’t make it that spicy at all but, it tasted how it does everywhere else I’ve tried it. Pretty good. 🙂
Boyfriend is still on his Thai Basil Stir Fry kick. Sadly, they didn’t have ground chicken here and the big chicken pieces never seem to absorb as much sauce. It wasn’t bad though, just… not as spicy as we hoped! I know I sound like a broken record player but, PLEASE, someone make me and my tongue CRY so I can finally shut up!
The Jasmine rice came in this cute little guy ^. Too bad it’s the size of a tea cup and didn’t fit much. Boyfriend had to ask for one more helping and then paid for another scoop to bring home with his bit of leftovers. I had some noodles left to bring home, too.
When we finished eating, we went to the smoke shop to buy some blunt wraps then, came home and smoked one. 😛 I had a couple cups of hot black coffee and wanted to give the Rubicon Neapolitan Cupcakes I bought from Sprouts another shot before throwing them out. Boyfriend and I shared one of them when we first bought them but, neither of us really liked it. The frosting and filling were sickening.
Sooo… I asked him if he would dissect out and clean off all the cream. I was kind of kidding but, then he came out of the kitchen with this ^… LOL! Man, I love him. ❤ BUT, I could still strongly taste the terrible frosting. I couldn’t even swallow a single bite.
Boyfriend just brought me a hot cup of strawberry tea in my Merry & Bright Christmas mug!!! ❤ How cute is he?!?!
Okay, okay… I asked him to make me the tea but, HE decided on the mug and even said, “look, I put it in your Christmas mug” when he gave it to me, hehe. ❤
Now, I will go over this post and fix my spelling mistakes while I sip on it.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY!!! ❤
