Hello lovies!! Merry Christmas Eve, if you celebrate it. ❀

Twinkle Star loves her little bell toy connected to the end of the red string (poking out from under her). She’s always carrying it around in her mouth, chasing/batting it, licking it “clean,” and snuggling/sleeping with it… makes my heart melt. ❀

For Christmas we bought her two new little toys with bells on them. I doubt she’ll ditch her favorite baby but, hopefully, she’ll play with them at least a little. The green one with the furry tail is for Sushi because he loves to groom and snuggle little toys like that, too, if Benji doesn’t destroy them first! They’ll all share the catnip and each get a special Rachael Ray dinner. Sushi and Twinkie are very picky about their treats and wet food but, everything Rachael Ray has been approved by them, so far!

We also got them this little Jungle Party that we hope will distract them from their cardboard boxes (but, I doubt it)… hey, look! Benji already claimed it by modeling for the box cover. πŸ˜‰

Of course, they don’t get to eat their dinner or play with their new things until tomorrow!!

Last time I wrote was Saturday… after I published my Entry, I went and got ready for work. I had a small cocktail before leaving and got there around 11:30ish PM.

I found a fun table of Asian men to hang out with. At first, they had a bottle of Grey Goose but, once they drank it all, I suggested PatrΓ³n aaaand well, we all know it was a blur from there. Still, turned out to be the best night out of the 3 I worked all week.

And, the best part was… I didn’t even wake up with a hangover on Sunday BECAUSE

When boyfriend picked me up that night, we went to eat at Viet Noodle Bar. πŸ™‚ He wanted a whole plate of Spring Rolls to himself so we ordered two. I couldn’t finish all of mine so, we asked them to wrap the leftovers in saran wrap and they were as good as new the next day!

Boyfriend got his Vermicelli Noodle Salad with pork, beef, and egg rolls.

I got the pho with no fatty pieces, just beef and tripe. Sorry it was very messy looking but, hey, that’s kinda how I was feeling. LOL.

We also ordered hot tea to drink (not pictured). This time, I had to ask if they use the same tea my mom makes at home and guess what? The server that always chats with us showed us the tin and… I WAS RIGHT; they do!!

On Sunday, when we woke up, it was already pitch black outside. It was just a little past 4 PM and rain was pouring down. Boyfriend made us a chicken and dumpling soup for dinner while I wrote up my latest Recipe Reviews. When we finished eating and I got that published, we watched Love Island AUS together for the rest of the night.

Yesterday, boyfriend tried his hand at making tortillas into hard taco bowls– they turned out rather well and I’m super looking forward to sharing the recipe he followed with you guys! It was… interesting.

I spent my entire night, after writing a short book review, catching up with your blogs. I couldn’t believe how fast the time flew!! Everyone I follow is so talented, engaging, and creative. ❀ I can’t believe I was nearly 2 months behind and now, only 2 days! Hopefully, that will never happen again.

I ended my night with a sheet mask. πŸ˜€

Today, I woke up with a roaring tummyache around 11 AM. I forgot to mention that boyfriend went and got us strawberry milkshakes from Jack in the Box around 1 AM last night… hehe. I only drank half of a small because it was all I could handle… but, hey, everything happens for a reason because since I was awake, I heard the knock on our door and was able to retrieve a package from my sweet, sweet friend, Stephanie. Earlier in the week, I accidentally slept through the knock for my BFF, Rossy’s, package so I am very glad that didn’t happen again. It stressed me out so much to miss it!! Am I the only one who gets this way about mail? It’s exactly why I rarely online shop, lol.

All morning I read more blogs on my Reader while taking numerous trips to the toilet. Boyfriend woke up around 3 PM and we laid around for about an hour before I took a shower and found a new Thai restaurant to eat at.

I couldn’t believe that Kinnara was right next door to the dispensary we always go to! It opened 5 months ago and we never noticed it?

The interior was styled in the very modern, industrial, minimalistic, woody, planty way that all new restaurants are nowadays. There was a Thai touch here and there though, and I can’t lie– that hanging plant over the light at the front desk (above) looks pretty awesome.

I was craving spicy food so everything I ordered, I added, “very, very spicy” to the end of it. πŸ™‚

Papaya Salad had been the #1 thing on my mind for awhile so, I knew I had to give theirs a shot. There were full-sized, green Thai chili peppers in there and gosh, you already know how pleased I was about that. Here’s a close-up just because it was so pretty:

I was actually satisfied with the level of spice and, the flavor, I rate it a 10 out of 10! Seriously! It was so yummy, crunchy, and fresh. The sour and salty balance was so spot on, too. I usually prefer the Laos-style, which is smellier with weirder ingredients, but I could really dig this one (do people still say that?). We (well, mostly, I) cleared the entire plate.

Their Chicken Tom Kha Soup was a little on the sweet side, even though we could tell they tried to spice it up with all the useless crushed red pepper. It served as a nice palate cleanser/cool down from the salad but, I would have been pretty disappointed if I had ordered it on its own. Luckily, we only shared the small size.

They called this dish Fire Dept. Noodles on their menu. I had a feeling it would be the same or, at least, similar to Drunken Noodles/Pad Kee Mao and woohoo!! I was right again!! They didn’t make it that spicy at all but, it tasted how it does everywhere else I’ve tried it. Pretty good. πŸ™‚

Boyfriend is still on his Thai Basil Stir Fry kick. Sadly, they didn’t have ground chicken here and the big chicken pieces never seem to absorb as much sauce. It wasn’t bad though, just… not as spicy as we hoped! I know I sound like a broken record player but, PLEASE, someone make me and my tongue CRY so I can finally shut up!

The Jasmine rice came in this cute little guy ^. Too bad it’s the size of a tea cup and didn’t fit much. Boyfriend had to ask for one more helping and then paid for another scoop to bring home with his bit of leftovers. I had some noodles left to bring home, too.

When we finished eating, we went to the smoke shop to buy some blunt wraps then, came home and smoked one. πŸ˜› I had a couple cups of hot black coffee and wanted to give the Rubicon Neapolitan Cupcakes I bought from Sprouts another shot before throwing them out. Boyfriend and I shared one of them when we first bought them but, neither of us really liked it. The frosting and filling were sickening.

Sooo… I asked him if he would dissect out and clean off all the cream. I was kind of kidding but, then he came out of the kitchen with this ^… LOL! Man, I love him. ❀ BUT, I could still strongly taste the terrible frosting. I couldn’t even swallow a single bite.

As Jess always says after trying something she’s unhappy with, “well, at least I know now!I know now to stick to their delicious, mini chocolate cakes only. πŸ˜‰

Boyfriend just brought me a hot cup of strawberry tea in my Merry & Bright Christmas mug!!! ❀ How cute is he?!?!

Okay, okay… I asked him to make me the tea but, HE decided on the mug and even said, “look, I put it in your Christmas mug” when he gave it to me, hehe. ❀

Now, I will go over this post and fix my spelling mistakes while I sip on it.

    1. Lol they have actually been playing with it more than I thought they would but still, not as much as I hoped (if that makes sense). πŸ˜› It was our first time trying the strawberry tea, it’s very sweet & thank you for compliments on the mug!!

  1. Merry Christmas to you both. Thanks for being such a loyal reader and I love your comments–my girlfriend does too. I know this because she goes back and reads my posts again later hoping that you’ve commented.

    1. The cats actually weren’t happy with how big the meat chunks were in their treats this time. 😦 The Thai restaurant was pretty impressive. Thank you, LP! Hope you had a very Merry Christmas as well! ❀

  2. Whoa, that new Thai restaurant is gorgeous! I love that you guys got Benji, Sushi, and Twinkle Star Christmas gifts! But made sure they waited until Christmas Day, lol.

How sweet that your boyfriend scraped the icing off the cupcake and got you a mug of tea in your Christmas mug! What a great guy πŸ™‚

    1. I was really impressed with the restaurant! It’s in such a weird part of town, I honestly didn’t expect it to be so beautiful. & we even wrapped the toys a little bit for them to tear at haha.

Aw yeah, he is a pretty great guy. πŸ˜€

  3. Stephen was looking over my shoulder as I was reading your post and he asked what the dipping sauce for your spring rolls were πŸ˜‚ He said that it reminded him of peanut butter and chocolate! We had pho last night and I forgot how much I liked it. I was craving the noodle salad but the restaurant didn’t have it. That’s so sweet that boyfriend scooped out the icing for you and made you tea in your cute little mug!

I had a package delivered to the apartment whenever we went to the cabin a couple of weeks ago. It was supposed to arrive on Sunday, but it delivered on Saturday and we wouldn’t be back until Sunday! So, it was at our doorstep a whole day, and I was so paranoid something would happen to it, but it was still there, thankfully! Glad you had such a lovely Christmas, Hunida! ❀

    1. LOL he is not too far off actually, the sauce is peanut butter based but no chocolate. It’s brown from the hoisin sauce that’s also mixed in there. πŸ™‚ Sometimes, I forget how much I like pho, too. Glad you enjoyed yours last night ❀ hopefully you can get the noodle salad somewhere else soon! Boyfriend is so funny, I didn't actually want him to dissect that cupcake but, he's so sweet. ❀

Oh my gosh, that would have gave me so much paranoia, too! I would really rather just buy everything in-store but, online has many more options nowadays.

      ❀ ❀

      1. Interesting, I don’t think I’ve ever had that sauce as an option for spring rolls! I hope I come across it someday. That was definitely a sweet gesture, and I hope the cupcake was good! I guess that shows how good of an apartment complex we live in for the gift to be untouched for a day! What a huge relief. Also, I like being able to go out, but they’re really pushing us to do more online shopping with options for sure.

        1. It’s interesting how different restaurants make different spring roll sauces, isn’t it? I hope you like the peanut butter kind if you come across it. πŸ™‚ That really is nice that you live in a trusting complex. I’m not sure if a package would last on our doorstep, to be honest! & I agree, the online shopping is totally taking over!

  4. Ohhhh Twinkle Star you are so pretty!!!!! I hope you and your siblings love your new toys! I found some toys for Marilyn when I was cleaning off the top of my dresser (Hello Kitty plushies) and I scattered them around the house for her to “find” the next time she comes over. I have no idea if she likes to play with toys or not.

How do you guys like Jungle Party?

Ohmygosh I think Marilyn needs some of that Nutrish cat food!!!! Sounds like it comes highly recommended by you three kitties!

And now, go play while I talk to your mother!
OMG…I need that Vermicelli Noodle Salad with pork, beef, and egg rolls!!!!! How scrummy does that look?????

That’s so cool that the one place uses the same kind of tea as your Mom!

{screams} Ack!!!!! You scared me with that sheet mask picture!

PLEASE, someone make me and my tongue CRY so I can finally shut up! — bwaaaa haaaa haaa!!!!!
Sounds like boyfriend was extra sweet and cute that week.
Speaking of cute…that little rice bowl thingie with a lid !!!!!

Hmm…no, I don’t think we say that we dig something anymore, but I kind of appreciated the throwback phrase and I’m ok with you using it.

Was the yucky cake & frosting kind of like a Hostess Cupcake? If so then hand it over.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Twinkle Star says, “thank you so much! I know I am so cute & I love my new toy but still, not as much as my red string baby!” LOL.

My boys are kind of scared of plushies because they’re big but, Twinkle sleeps with one in her cat bed every night. I hope Marilyn likes the Hello Kitty!

They have neglected to play with the Jungle Party unless we put catnip on it…

& you should get her the broth pouches by Rachael Ray, they all liked those much better!

I do think you would love the noodle salad πŸ™‚ have you tried it before?! & I AM LAUGHING SO HARD!! Boyfriend never stops making fun of me when I have those masks on. SO SORRY I scared you though. 😦

I KNOW!! The little rice was adorable. ❀ & dang, I guess I shouldn't say "I dig it" anymore hahaha.

No. It tasted like a Hostess cake made out of Stevia or some type of fake sugar, you know?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Marilyn has no interest in the Hello Kitty plushies but went crazy over the ribbon I found for her. I will make note about the broth pouches.

I have NOT tried the noodle salad but I want to!

That mask picture was REALLY unsettling as I scrolled. LOL

I think you should continue saying “I dig it” and maybe it will become popular again.

Ew. I don’t like fake sugars of any kind. Gimme pure cane sugar, from Hawaii.

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Lol! Kitties really do love ribbons & strings. Maybe she will use the plushie as a cuddle buddy sometime. 😊

Ooo, I would love for you to try the noodle salad! & again, so sorry about the mask picture LOL.

& agreed about fake sugar. Blech!

  5. Merry Christmas again, gotta take a trip to Chinatown in Las Vegas when I come to town since it’s so easy to get there by public transportation . Viet Noodle Bar food looks good as does most of the food that you show us. The furbabies look like they eat well too.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Yesss! You would love Viet Noodle Bar & they have opened up & built SO many more establishments in China Town now, too. πŸ™‚ The fur babies do eat pretty well! Lol. ❀

  6. We’re back in the air and again trying to stay calm during the turbulence! Thankful to have your blog to distract me haha. Twinkle Star is too stinking cute!! Sounds like they are living their best cat lives this Christmas!! Oh my gosh, pho sounds SO good right now. I haven’t had it in a while; we are much overdue for some. I am majorly impressed you caught up on all those blogs like that!!! Mmmm I had papaya salad this past year for the first time and it’s sooo refreshing and yummy. I’m glad they got the spice level right for you too. Aww that Christmas mug is too cute!! I adored reading this. Thanks for sharing, Hunida! Xo

    1. Ah I hope the turbulence calmed down & you had a safe landing! So happy to have been able to distract you.

Twinkle says, “thank you!” ❀ & ugh, pho is so addicting in the winter. I want some again already.

It took me awhile but, it felt so nice to catch up on the blogs. πŸ™‚ I'm a bit behind again though… & yesss, papaya salad is so yummy!

Thanks so much for reading, Mackenzie! ❀

  7. That is so cute that the fuzzies got xmas gifts too! Cuteeeee!!! I got some snacks for Sophie too lol
So glad you didn’t suffer from a hangover, but yay for a great work day!! Aahh those spring rolls look so amazing!
So what kind of tea do they use there? Is it something you can buy at the store? I’m a tea person so naturally, I’d like to try lol.
Its the worst when you fall behind on reading blogs πŸ˜• it happens to me all the time and i dont even mean for it to happen. i might have to set some time aside to read blogs every day once I catch up. I was literally three days out and now I’m back up to a week but considering that people post less and less during the holidays, I might catch up soon
That place Kinnara looks super cool on the inside. And I have never heard of papaya salad? Does it actually have papaya in it?? Lol
The rest of the dishes look delish, especially the fire dept. Noodles and the thai basil stir fry
Lol you and your coffee. I’ve tried to drink coffee again and I just cannot lol.
And I’ve tasted cupcakes and cakes with disgusting frosting too. It’s the worst lol. Taking the frosting off does help though.
    That mug is so cuteeee!

    1. Lol the fuzzies have actually been liking their toys & of course the cat nip but the jungle has been ignored, just kind of in the way now. πŸ˜›

I am just so happy that the holidays are over, work is always so slow when they come around. I need to bring you to try spring rolls when you come back!!

Okay, I looked up the tea & I guess the brand is called Sunflower but it’s really just an orange tin that says Jasmine Tea in english & the rest is in a different language. You can get it on Amazon or at an Asian grocery store. πŸ™‚ One day when I put together your snack box, I will include it if you can’t find it before then!

I knooow, I hate being super behind on blogs but, at least I never run out of reading material that way lol. I try to carve out an hour or so in my day just to catch up a little, too. & oh my gosh, I totally noticed people stopped posting after Christmas & waited to return on New Year’s! I am only 3 days out now. πŸ˜€

Kinnara really did look cool inside! The plants were so green & alive! & yes, papaya salad is just a peeled & shredded papaya. πŸ™‚ The food was pretty impressive there!

& I need to cut back on drinking coffee, mostly for the sake of my teeth but, I love it so much.

I hate a lot of frosting! I could do without it on most cakes/cupcakes but this one was reeeally gross.

Thank you about the mug, we have a matching one that says ‘Ho Ho Ho’ too lol.

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Awwh lol. They don’t like the jungle as much as they do boxes huh? πŸ˜„
I’m glad the holidays are over too. Now I can focus on me lol. Kind of. Have to deal with so many things that have gone wrong lately but we are taking it in stride and trying not to stress so much. Though easier said than done lol.
Yasss I’m excited!! I’ll be sure to ask Jennie about the dates, maybe I can be there for a day or two and come back lol. The boys want to go too though lol.
Oh okay, I’ll take a screenshot of this comment and look for it when I go to the asian super market again. We were just there shortly before new years.
Yeah I’m all caught up on reading now. Officially. Lol. Now I’m just replying to comments haha
I’ll have to try that then, never had papaya that way lol

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Lol exactly! & yesss, babe! You need to focus on you. ❀ I hope nothing too bad has gone wrong but, it will all work out in the end! You got this. ❀

Yay! I'm so excited to hang out again. πŸ™‚ & it won't be so cold out! Are you planning on coming alone? Have you ever slept without them?

I can send you a picture of the tea if you want me to! Congrats on catching up! I am STILL 3 days behind lol.

I'm not sure I've ever had papaya any other way! How do you eat it?

So I don’t have to bring a sweater this time? Lolol. Jk. How is the weather around March over there anyway? I guess compared to November? 🀣
And no, the only time I was ever alone was years before CL was born and Alex used to work as a security at a bar. I think I would miss them. πŸ˜‚ but I would love to travel alone at least once. Since I’m going to meet Jennie, I thought to go by myself but Alex was like “I want to go again”. Im not even kidding when I say he is actually very excited about going back lol. In fact, it was his idea. I love it! In 2018 when I told him I wanted to travel he said he didnt want to do that (except japan) so we’ve had these little mini getaway trips to Seattle and the coast (and recently Vegas) and now he’s all about going places, lol.
Ooh yes please! Send me a picture! It will be so much easier for me to find it if I know what it looks like, though I might have an idea of what it might look like it.
Where I grew up in Mexico, they used to just cut it in like wedges with salt, lime and hot sauce (like Valentina). That’s usually how they would serve a lot of fruit.

            Liked by 1 person

            1. I always bring a sweater, even when it’s like 100 degrees out because the casinos & restaurants always blast the AC. The weather is very nice in March though, most people do not wear sweaters lol.

Aw I love that Alex is excited to come back! I can’t wait to hang out with ALL of you again. ❀

              Here's the tea: https://www.amazon.com/Sunflower-Jasmine-Tea-LB-454/dp/B000NIHZMU/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=jasmine+tea&qid=1577600437&sr=8-6

Oooh, man!! I love to eat mangoes like that. ❀ Papaya would be yummy, too!!

                1. Oh okay! Cool! Hope you find it at the bigger supermarket. I’ve been meaning to go to the one at China Town to buy some for us, so let me know if you can’t find it. I’ll pick up a tin for you. πŸ™‚ Also, it’s loose leaf tea, you can make it in a coffee maker (put it where the grounds usually go) if you don’t have one of those balls or cups!

                  Liked by 1 person

                  1. Oooh I’m intrigued. We tried a loose leaf tea once and we had a hard time because we didn’t have anything to strain it lmao. I will have to go buy a ball or something, I’ve always wanted one of those anyway ;D

                    Liked by 1 person

  8. πŸ˜‚ I actually say it out loud too! How would you know if you hadn’t tried it, right?? Spicy food is definitely difficult even with Indian food because I think they get nervous that people can’t handle their spice-they just don’t account for us πŸ˜‰

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Right! You’ve always gotta try everything once. πŸ˜€ & I knooow, I wish they’d just make it as spicy as possible but, I’ve heard tons of people complain after asking for ‘extra spicy’ before so I see why they get a little scared.
