Hello fellow beauty lovers!! Here I am, on the very first day of DECEMBER (happy new month!), sharing with you what I got in my Ipsy Glam Bag Plus from October. I hope you’ll excuse my tardiness and still take interest in what I got!? 😛

The PLUS subscription has been my favorite consistently… sadly, I’ve been on PAUSE for the past month, going on two, and it kind of hurts, especially since they started including makeup bags again! I’m trying my hardest to, at least, test out every unopened product I have back stocked before resuming.

Oh and I was reading Ipsy’s FAQs page and they mentioned why they changed their Original $12/mo. mailer bags from the signature shiny pink to millennial pink. They wanted them to be recyclable, which totally makes sense now.

They also had to change their PLUS boxes to match. It was designed exactly the same as the ULTIMATE, just a bit smaller.

The theme and pamphlet image is the same throughout all three subscriptions. They’ve changed from the big accordion-style brochures to the smaller flip up cards, which I don’t mind. All I care is that the descriptions and retail values are included, and in this one, they *are.* 🙂 Yay!

What Was In My Box?!

Purlisse
Blue Lotus Brightening Serum
Ipsy’s Description
“Bring on the glow. This anti-oxidant rich, lightweight serum uses a powerhouse of nine plant extracts to nurture, brighten, hydrate, and repair your skin–without irritation or redness. And the hydroquinone-free formula gently fades discolorations, too.”
My First Impressions
I’m currently testing out the Biorace serum I received in my October Ultimate so, I can’t mix it with other new face products right now. I do really like the claims this one makes, though, and I’m excited to try it out. ‘Blue Lotus‘ just sounds so luxurious.

Dr. Brandt
Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator
Ipsy’s Description
“It’s like a trip to the derm in a jar–because it was developed by one! A mixture of lactic acid and micro crystals slough away the day to reveal brighter, tighter skin. A smoothing blend of jojoba, chamomile, and aloe vera help reduce redness. Wow, look at that glow.”
My First Impressions
I have only heard the best things about Dr. Brandt and I am all for anything that will stop my skin from aging. If you’ve tried this before, please, let me know your experience! Like I said, I am in the process of trying other new face products out so it will be a little while until I get to this one.

Betty Boop x ipsy
That’s So Betty Eyeshadow Palette
Ipsy’s Description
“Inspired by the iconic beauty muse Betty Boop, this Ipster-exclusive eyeshadow palette is here to help you obsess over you. With eight buildable hues–like shimmery champagne, powdery pink, and rich plum–these velvety shadows glide onto lids with ease.”
My First Impressions
I wasn’t expecting much after trying the blush palette from this same Betty Boop collab. For the quality of these shadows, this is not worth $30… they have got to be kidding themselves with that price. Every single shade felt super chalky and dry as I swirled my finger around. It felt as if I was playing with children’s play makeup!
It was hard to get pigmentation when I applied with a nice brush to my lids. A lot of product needed to be packed on and, I wasn’t even satisfied before I just gave up. Blending was not easy, either. I was surprised to see that what did show up, never went away or creased the entire night I wore it.

Glossier
Milky Oil Waterproof Makeup Remover
Ipsy’s Description
“From product to packaging, the essentials of Glossier are all about you. This balanced combo of micellar water and weightless oil melts makeup (yep, even the 24-hour wear stuff) and conditions the skin with comfrey root extract and pro-vitamin B5.”
My First Impressions
I was SO excited to finally receive and try something by Glossier. I just think their packaging is so darn cute. Unfortunately, I don’t really like oils to remove my makeup because the greasy residue bothers me to no end. I gave this two shots and the second time confirmed that I didn’t want to use it again, at least, not on my entire face. I will save it to wipe off lipstick and arm swatches. It gets the job done, has no scent, and didn’t cause any type of bad skin reaction.

Jules Smith Beauty
Power Gloss Duo in Namaste All Day and Serene Queen
Ipsy’s Description
“From jewelry to beauty, founder Gina Nigrelli-Smith knows how to shine. This pair of rosy, crystal-inspired glosses from Jules Smith Beauty give high-shine moisture with vitamins A and E–and a hint of shimmer.”
My First Impressions
This gloss is NO JOKE. It’s super thick and heavy but, that’s what makes it so extremely easy to apply, you can feel when you go out of the lines right away. It also lasts on your lips forever, which is so rare for a gloss! My lips are still shining (and feeling gloopy) after a cup of hot coffee, a few smooches, and a whole blunt. Boyfriend explained it as a maple syrup texture when it got on his lips and I agree. It can be a little uncomfortable but, if you have to go somewhere and cannot reapply for a long time, it’s completely worth it. You won’t have to worry if it’s gone because you can FEEL that it’s still there.
Namaste All Day was a tinted gloss, it gave me a nice berry toned shine. With more noticeable color, I had to apply quite a bit of product to evenly color my lips, making it even heavier than Serene Queen. Serene Queen was a light, translucent pink that automatically blended in with the natural shade of my lips and the shine was evident at first swipe. As this gloss fades, it does not smudge, smear, or bleed. The shine gradually and gracefully disappears. Trust me when I say, that does not happen for a long while, though!!
The packaging is out of this world, too. Very sleek and creative. I love the little icons that go along with the shade names. Whoever said “it’s the details that matter” really knew what they were talking about.

Aren’t they?! I can deal with the stickiness for these ones. 😊

OMG I cringed looking at those palette swatches. I’ve yet to hear anything good about the IPSY Betty Boop collaboration outside of the cute packaging.
I was SHOOK that you received a Glossier item in your bag – its a bummer that you don’t like it much, but I understand. Oils are amazing for removing liquid liner and liquid lipsticks. Also, they feel kinda meh BUT they aren’t as harsh on your skin!
Jules Beauty is Cruelty Free and Vegan I believe, which is awesome! Those glosses you received look so lovely and it seems like they wore well throughout the day!

LOLOL, right?? That palette was so sad. It seriously felt like the stuff we played with as little girls. 😛 Literally, from the ‘toys’ section. The only good thing about the Betty Boop collab was the packaging.
I was SO excited to see the Glossier Makeup Remover! It’s nice to know it’s less harsh on your skin. That may make me want to use it on my face more.
Oh that’s awesome! I couldn’t seem to find anything about it on their main website nor on Cruelty Free Kitty? The glosses were damn sticky but, they did not budge lol.

Sometimes Cruelty Free Kitty & Ethical Elephant don’t always have some of the smaller brands on their site!

I noticed that neither of them had Purlisse on there but, everywhere says they are CF!
