November 20, 2019
Hiya!! Last time I wrote was a week and a day ago… I’m pretty sure I spent the rest of that night, after publishing my Journal Entry, playing Sims 4, lol.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13th, I stayed away from the game. I had to get into gear for work the next day. I watched The Masked Singer and other mindless shows, painted my toe nails, filed my finger nails, read some blogs, took a hot bath with a shitty donut bath bomb, and read a bit of The Silent Patient.
Thursday, Nov. 11th, boyfriend cooked us a delicious dinner with chicken thighs and carrots. We didn’t do much of anything until we had to make our way to Starbucks. Then, I got ready for work. Boyfriend dropped me off around 11 PM and I stayed until around 4 AM. It was a pretty good night for me!
On Friday, we ran out of groceries at home so we went to our fave spot, Café Zupas, for dinner.
Boyfriend got his Cuban Chicken Sandwich and the Chipotle Chicken Salad. I got the Strawberry Harvest Salad and the Honey Bacon Club (both with no cheese). Mm, mm. I could probably eat here everyday.
Along with Starbucks, we had to make a run to the dispensary. We saw a random taco truck sitting in Inyo’s parking lot when we got there and I was like, “I bet you get free food!” and I was right! 😀 They were giving out tickets for customers who spent over a certain amount and it was under what we usually spend anyways!
Boyfriend tried one steak and one chicken but, I forget who the vendors were. I didn’t try a bite because I was already super full and also, I hate corn tortillas/baby-sized street tacos (sorry!). He said they were really tasty though and I was surprised they had radishes to top them with! YUM!
That night, I got to work around 11 PM or 12 AM again but, I left super early… around 2ish. 😛 I was just not feelin’ the crowd and I was satisfied enough with my profit.
Maybe I was hungry, too??
When boyfriend picked me up, I asked him to take me to Viet Noodle Bar! We got an order of Fresh Spring Rolls to share and I took a risk and got the bowl of Combination Pho (with tripe, flank steak, and rare steak).
You guys, I was blown away!! The noodles weren’t too soggy and the broth was full of that wonderful, rich, beefy flavor. I was so absorbed in slurping it all up, I forgot to take a picture of boyfriend’s Vermicelli Noodle Salad. He got it with pork, beef, and egg rolls this time.
On Saturday, we were in the mood to try somewhere new! We needed to go to Total Wine to pick me up another bottle of Patrón so, we chose a place nearby called Miller’s Ale House. I never saw it on Yelp when looking up restaurants but, it looked popular from the outside every time we passed it.
We looked through their menu and couldn’t believe our eyes. Their prices were SO low and there were tons of different options to choose from!
The interior reminded me of a tavern in Minnesota. Cabin/country-style, y’know? I kinda liked it! 😛
I warned boyfriend that I was craving more Buffalo Wild Wings and that I’d want to have some after work but, he didn’t care. He still went ahead and ordered their spiciest wings called, 5 Pepper Spice (or something close to that).
He said they had a nice kick to them and the chicken was juicy, too. The only thing was too much black pepper. He said he didn’t know that was going to be one of the 5 peppers included, lol.
He also ordered a bowl of fries for us “to share.” 😉
I went with their awesome Asian Salad that was topped with the most perfectly grilled chicken. The dressing wasn’t anything unique but, they did use my favorite kind, sesame-ginger, so of course, I absolutely loved it. The toppings, greens, and dressing were all balanced out evenly. I was able to clear my whole plate with full bites of everything each time.
When we finished eating, we drove across the street to Total Wine and then, to Starbucks for our quad shots. I got to work around 11 PM and stayed until almost 5 AM. It wasn’t as good as Thursday but, way better than Friday.
As promised, when boyfriend picked me up, we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings! I was feeling quite ravenous.
The whole place was empty when we got there besides the bartender/server and his fellow employee… possibly the cook? (He ran back right when we sat down so I assumed). We asked if they were still serving food and he said, “if you’re over 21!” so, we gave him our IDs and sat down with a menu at the bar.
Obviously, my self-control was out the window by this point, so we got the cheesiest cheesy thing we could find for our appetizer. The Chili Con Queso dip with chips. Ohhhhh my gosh, it was everything. So darn worth it. When you don’t have real cheese for so long, you really forget how good it is. GOSH!!! I wish I had a stronger stomach to eat this kind of stuff ALL the time. 😦
We went all out because we knew we wanted to bring some home for Sunday’s late night snack. 😉
For our sauces, we got 5 of each: Blazin’, Wild, Parmesan Garlic, Spicy Garlic, Thai Curry, and Nasville Hot. It was our first time trying the Thai and Nashville ones. We ended up HATING the salty ass Thai Curry but, the Nashville was alright. I wouldn’t order it again but, boyfriend said he probably would.
Anyways, can someone please tell me if your tongue gets more sensitive to spice when you’re drunk? I actually CRIED from my first bite of a Blazin’ wing. I cooled myself down with a Parm Garlic one then, had a second Blazin’. It wasn’t half as bad though… maybe because I was expecting it? Then, when we reheated them… I was sober and shook my head at myself. How could I have ever cried over it? It didn’t burn nearly as bad.
On Sunday, we woke up kind of late but, we needed to go grocery shopping. We are smarter than to go to Sprouts before going out to eat now so, first, we went to Viet Noodle Bar. I was craving a Vietnamese Crepe AKA Banh Xeo but, I also couldn’t get their pho out of my mind.
I convinced boyfriend to get the large bowl of pho so I could have a few slurps and I went with the crepe!! ❤
I don’t know how I forgot both times at this restaurant to take a photo of his meal! Dang it! He had me mix in all the sriracha, sambal, and hoisin sauce for him. At first, I didn’t do enough and the broth was bland but, after doctoring it up a bit more… we found that beautiful flavor again. It’s crazy how much the toppings/sauces can change up the whole bowl.
And, I’m sorry if you’re sick of seeing these spring rolls but, we are not sick of eating them. Of course, we had an order to share! 🙂
Afterwards, we ran quickly through Sprouts, barely even picking up snacks, except a box of crackers and kettle chips. We would come to regret that later but, man, I just wanted to get out of there. We had to get to Starbucks before it closed!
I’m very sad because they no longer have the cookie crumbles so, I got a plain Coffee Frapp with 3 shots of espresso and almond milk and boyfriend got his traditional, once a year, Peppermint Mocha Frapp with regular milk and 3 shots as well. I love that the holiday cups are out now and the stores are already festively decorated!
Monday, I woke up, took a shower and started playing the Sims 4 right away. We had a lovely salmon dinner with garlic noodles and zucchini. I ate it without even pausing my game, lol. Luckily, boyfriend didn’t mind but, if he were to do the same, I’d get upset, I think? 😛 I decided to purchase a bundle that included the new University Expansion Pack, The Realm of Magic Game Pack, and the Moschino Stuff Pack. The only one I’m missing now is the Strangerville one! I’m actually a little scared of it but, when it goes on sale, it will be mine. EA is letting us Simmers take a survey and vote for their next release! I can’t wait to see which one wins!
Around 1 AM, I looked at boyfriend and asked him if he was hungry. He said “starving but, we didn’t buy any snacks.” So, I ordered takeout online through Yelp/Grubhub for some Barcode Burgers and then, he went and picked them up for us.
It was just as tasty as eating it at the bar if not tastier since we were comfy at home. 🙂 I got the one with Boston pork butt, bacon, and blueberry BBQ sauce.
Yesterday, I finally took the time to share what I got in my Influenster VoxBox with you! In the middle of typing my post, I had to pause for dinner. We had an Udon stir-fry and watched Glee while eating.
After publishing my post and checking my notifications, I disappeared back into my Sims world. I am working on becoming a very skilled Spellcaster. I was cracking the heck up when I did a “duel” because my Sims were doing the signature Harry Potter stance in the second film, against Draco. LOL!!
I quit the game around 2 AM to write out my review for The Silent Patient. My thoughts were whirring around in my head and I was ready to get them out (it’ll be up tomorrow). I read some blogs on my Reader and organized some books on my Goodreads shelf. I started a new book by Augusten Borroughs called, You Better Not Cry. It’s a short, kind of dark but, funny book all about his past Christmases. I think I’ll get through it quickly.
Today, I’ve only woken up, took a shower, and started typing this. Dinner is almost done and we’re all caught up now!
Tomorrow, we’re going to meet Rossy (@AyR Galaxy) and her cute little family for dinner!! They’re coming to Vegas for a mini vacation and I CANNOT wait!!
Hope YOU have the bestbestbest rest of your week!! ❤
