Hey pals!! ❀ I can’t believe it’s already been a week into October and this is only my first Journal Entry of the month. I changed up my blog header and colors again, this time to be more Halloween-y!! If you have the time, check it out and let me know what you think, please? πŸ™‚ Also, how cute is my new Featured Image?

Last time I wrote, was Sunday, Sept. 29th, so like always– we gotta catch up from where we left off!! Currently, I’m drinking a Coffee Frappuccino with 3 shots of espresso, almond milk, and cookie crumbles on top (my new favorite!!) and I am a wee bit hyper, so sorry in advance for the extra exclamation points!! But, honestly, I always am a little heavy-handed on the Shift+1, aren’t I?! *laughing crying face here*

Alright, alright, let’s settle down now.

On Monday, Sept. 30th, we went grocery shopping at Sprouts. I spent most of my time afterwards writing my Ipsy Glam Bag review and putting together my Monthly Currentlys post, so it was ready on time for Oct. 1st. Boyfriend made us a delicious brown rice bowl with ground turkey and tons of veg. I read some blogs on my Reader and a chunk of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

At Sprouts, we saw their brand name Spicy Veggie “Chicken” Patties and decided to buy a box. In the front picture, they looked similar to the Quorn ones, that are breaded and oh so, delicious. Sadly, since Sprouts doesn’t carry the Quorn brand, we haven’t gotten to eat them in awhile. We had to see if these could compare.

Oddly, the patties were NOT breaded! We were a bit nervous to see that but, the flavor and the texture weren’t so bad at all. The “meat” was flaky and didn’t smush in my mouth and there was even a tinge of spice! Frozen fake “chicken” patties are usually always better than any frozen real chicken patties you can get– they actually taste more like real chicken… that’s weird, isn’t it? I dipped my sandwich in Frank’s Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce (yum!).

I spent Tuesday, Oct. 1st, almost the exact same way minus the trip to Sprouts.

On Wednesday, Oct. 2nd, I typed up and posted my review for Deserve to Die by Miranda Rijks and answered all the questions to The Ultimate Book Tag that I scheduled for the next day… Thursday, Oct. 3rd.

We were out of groceries so, we got to go out to eat. πŸ˜€

We went to Weera Thai, one of our go-to spots.

For our appetizer, we can never pass up on the Shrimp Spring Rolls. The veggies were so fresh and crisp, the shrimp: plump and juicy, and the wrap: perfectly moist and chewy, not at all hard.

Boyfriend got the Pad Ka Pow (stir fried chicken with basil) with white rice. He asked for the highest level of spicy but, was very, very disappointed. We couldn’t even detect a hint of it!

I got me a bowl of Yellow Curry!! I hadn’t had it in so long and was so excited for the thick, creamy broth. Sadly, I was let down, as well. This was way too sweet and did not have enough curry-flavor to it. I ate around a 1/4 and packed the rest to-go… (Admittedly, I never brought myself to reheat the leftovers before they went bad).

When we finished eating, we made our run to Starbucks, got our quad shots of espresso over ice, then came home to finish the rest of my work day routine.

I had a pretty decent night, working from 11:30 PM-almost 3 AM.

Friday, the 4th, we went to Chipotle again!! I got my barbacoa and steak bowl while boyfriend got his chicken and steak bowl (with hard shells on the side). I guess I forgot to take a picture but, I can find an old one from a previous post that’ll look the exact same, hehe… here ya go:

The lady in front of us ordered a burrito and had the Chipotle employee stir everything up with a spoon before wrapping it… I had never seen someone ask such a thing before and I don’t know why, it’s still weighing on my mind (??). Anyways, we went about our day until it was time for me to leave.

Work that night was reminiscent of a busier season. *sigh* I wish it were that way, always. I was very satisfied and so, so grateful.

Naively, I expected the same for Saturday. Maybe I didn’t try hard enough but, man, it was absolutely not my night.

Before work, we went to another one of our favorite spots, Cafe Zupas.

I had to send my sandwich back because it had cheese on it since, I’m an idiot, who forgot to mention to leave it off. So, the picture above only contains my Thai Steak Salad, boyfriend’s Cuban Pork sammy and his BBQ Chicken Salad.

When the sandwich came back to our table, the lady had freakin’ put avocado on it, though I HAD remembered to ask for none of that and the one with cheese had come without it… how could she forget so quickly? Ugh. I was red in the cheeks with anger but, of course, my lovely boyfriend came to the rescue, as always.

I was telling him to just bring it back and get me ANOTHER new one but, he wanted to save us all the trouble. Plus, he could tell I was getting impatient and hangry… so, the freakin’ sweet man of mine, took his bottom buns off with cheese melted on it, and switched it with the bun of MY messed up sandwich, without the cheese so, I was able to eat his Cuban sammy and he just casually ate my gross Turkey one as if it weren’t a problem… EVEN THOUGH, he hates avocados as much as I do??? What did I do to deserve him?? I have no idea but, I already know, I am way too dang lucky!!! ❀

When he picked me up from my horrible night at work, it was a little past 4 AM. We were both wanting some Hash A Go Go breakfast.

I usually get the Chicken and Waffles but, I wasn’t in the mood for anything remotely sweet and my stomach was a bit full. I, somehow, convinced boyfriend to split his beloved Chicken Benedict with me and for the first time, ever, we left with no leftovers. Although, he does usually finish his, it’s mine that we bring home so I can see why he was a bit reluctant to share. πŸ˜›

Sunday was such a fun day!! We ran tons of errands and did loads of shopping. πŸ˜€ Our first stop was the dispensary and then, we got to go China Town. I needed to pick up some things from the 99 Ranch Market (an Asian grocery store) and Shibuyala (an Asian beauty store).

I was super happy with my buys from both places!! AND with boyfriend for doing his best at not moaning and groaning while following me around. By the end of it, I could totally tell he was getting ready to eat.

We went to Sushi Neko, since it was Sushi Sunday!! We hadn’t been there in forever; we used to recognize every employee but, not one was familiar to us this time.

The food wasn’t bad… it just wasn’t as impressive as it once was. We fear this restaurant is going downhill and no longer cares about quality due to popularity. *sigh* This always happens, doesn’t it??

We skipped dessert at the restaurant because we wanted frapps from Starbucks instead. We went to this fancy one on the way to Walmart. I forgot to take a picture of our drinks but, I did get one of the super nice interior!

At Walmart, the best thing we got was a new 8-piece bed set (so wonderfully comfy and was extremely overdue), we also got 2 pillows (ours were getting pretty deflated), bath towels, cat food and treats, cleaning supplies, and a few other misc. things I needed. It was a very successful trip!!

But, we weren’t done there. We had to make one last stop at Sprouts. They had a $10 off coupon that expired that day so we made it just in the nick of time to use it (woohoo!!).

Finally, we got to go home at just a little past 9 PM. I finished reading Hey Ladies! then, watched the film, A Simple Favor (on Hulu) with boyfriend before bed.

At the 99 Ranch Market, I finally found that spicy ramen that the YouTubers were challenging each other to eat and I could not stop thinking about it– I had to have it for a late-night snack.

I seriously doubted that it would phase me, but boooooooy, was I mistaken. This shit is off the charts.

Yet, my tongue betrayed me and actually ENJOYED the torture. I finished every last bite and even craved more! It somehow still tasted good?! At the end of the cup, I exclaimed, “we gotta go buy more of these!” BUT– sorry if this is TMI– my stomach has NOT been right since I ate it. I am scared to ever have it again and will NEVER be buying more!!

Yesterday, I dealt with the consequences of the noodles for more than half my day. For the rest of it, I read some blogs and a little bit of the book I just started, The New Neighbor by Leah Stewart, I napped as long as I could, boyfriend made us dinner, then we found that The Rap Game has a couple more seasons on the free Tubi app on Roku. Boyfriend and I watched the entirety of Season 02, I took a hot bubble bath, and then it was time for bed.

Today, when I woke up, I was upset to find out my stomach still wasn’t feeling any better– I have not been able to have a full 6 hours of sleep without it waking me up. 😑 Boyfriend cooked a sausage and cauliflower rice skillet that had some cayenne and red pepper flakes in it, he knew I wasn’t feeling well so he went on light on both, but my stomach definitely knew it was in there (yikes).

The bathroom runs aren’t as frequent as yesterday, at least, so I see a full recovery in the very near future. I cannot wait to feel better.

After dinner, we decided to go to Starbucks for dessert again. Hey, boyfriend had to go to the smoke shop anyways. πŸ˜‰ We both switched our flavors up a bit this time, like I said in the very beginning of this rather long entry, I got the Coffee flavor with cookie crumbles on top. Next time, I’m gonna ask for a tiny bit of the crumbles mixed in, too. It was so delicious!!! And our sweet barista was there, giving us all the discounts. She suggested we get the app but, I tried it once and it confused the heck out of me… someone help? I just told her, “I’ll have to check it out!” like I never have before or something, LOL.

Boyfriend tried the Mocha Cookie Crumble with only 1 pump of chocolate (instead of the standard gajillion) and 3 shots of espresso. He said it was still a bit too chocolaty and there were a lot of those java chips but, otherwise, tasty!!! It looked amazing to me.

When we got home, that’s when I started typing this so I guess that means we’re all done here. I am SO SO excited for all my Ipsys (Ipsies?) to arrive this month, I got the e-mail that they shipped today!! EEEE!!! I can’t wait to share what’s in them with you all. I’ve also got another book review and another Recipe Reviews coming your way later this week so stay tuned, if you’re interested. πŸ™‚

Oh! And, I know I said that I would have a TV Shows review post for you last week but, 13 Reasons Why has been harder to get through than I thought it would be. And no, it’s not triggering meI’m bored!!! I wanted it to be part of the post but, I may have to watch a different series, putting it off for a little while longer now. I’m sorry!!

I hope you’ve all been having the best October so far! I can’t wait to read all your Blogtober posts! ❀

  1. Hopefully you are feeling much better and sounds like you shouldn’t buy those noodles anymore no matter how tasty they are!! At least you man doesn’t complain when you are doing your beauty shopping, my husband always is ready to get the hell out of Ulta every time we go in together. He usually ends up in Game Stop!! LOL!!

    1. Thank you, I am finally feeling much better. πŸ™‚ I will def have to stay away from those noodles lol. Boyfriend does complain a lot when I am beauty shopping, he just held back a bit that day. I WISH he would go to a Game Stop or something hahaha.

  2. I agree with you on how frozen fake chicken seems to taste better than frozen real chicken. How weird! That’s so sweet of your boyfriend to fix the sandwich for you, I love it! But gosh, I looove avocados! I would eat them by themselves all the time, haha.

All of your food from Sushi Neko looks so good, but how disappointing that your favorite place isn’t that good anymore. Shouldn’t the budding popularity mean that they should step up their food game!? You’d think, but who knows. Hopefully they figure out their crap or you find a better place!

I haven’t even heard about the noodles, but despite your warnings and consequences of eating them — so sorry! I hope you’re feeling better today — I still wanna try them! Haha, I’ll have to look for them and give them a shot. Thanks for catching back up, and I hope your October is off to a lovely start!

    1. Isn’t that weird? I wonder why that is! I rather eat a fake chicken patty any day. & I told him to bring the dang sandwich back but, it was sweet of him to just take it himself. We both really hate the smushiness of avos lol my sister eats it like yogurt out of the skin, too… πŸ˜› it seems to be a popular food– just not for us!

Ugh yeah, it seems to me the more popular a place gets, the less they care about quality. They know people will come in just because of the OLD good reviews. When a place is new, they try to be better to get those reviews, y’know? Sadly, there are already a few other places we prefer over Neko now.

Oh my gosh, watch Spicy Ramen 2x Challenge on YouTube. It’s crazy spicy but somehow still sooo good! You have to let me know if you ever try it! I do finally feel better, thank you! I had never had that kind of stomach problems for nearly 3 days before LOL.

Thank you so much for reading & commenting, Stephanie! I love hearing from you. ❀ & I hope your Oct. is off to a lovely start, too!

  3. Look at the adorable ghosts in your Featured Image!!!!! And how did you make that cute pumpkin viney writing at the top????? I don’t know how to do any of this kind of stuff.

OMG I totally needed your hyped up silliness and exclamation points. Thank you for that.

OMGGGGGGG yellow curry is my favorite!!!!!

That woman at Chipotle who wanted her burrito stirred is a genius. That way you get everything in one bite instead of separate bites of stuff.

Red in the cheeks with anger! I am dying…

Dang, Boyfriend!!!!! Could he please get some kind of Man of the Year award???? He is beyond awesome. Who RAISED him?

Very cute picture of the two of yas.

    Cute kitty on that menu!!!!

Sorry about your tummy issues. Why can’t our stomachs just let us eat what we want and stop bitching about it??? Why so picky, Stomach??? Or is it actually our intestines? Google says intestines.

    1. Aren’t the ghosts soooo cute? Lol I’m so happy you like them, thank you for coming to check it out!!! ❀ I made the pumpkin writing with fontmeme.com & just saved it to my computer & uploaded it as a header. πŸ™‚ I could explain a bit better if you need me to, let me know if that didn't make sense.

LOL aw yay, I've read a lot of people say exclamation points are a pet peeve of theirs but, I just LOVE them & feel they are often needed. ❀ Thank you for accepting & appreciating my silliness, you are just the best!!

I need to see if boyfriend can follow a yellow curry recipe & make it taste yummy. πŸ˜‰ & that's exactly what I thought about the woman at Chipotle… but, I wasn't sure. That makes so much sense lol.

Oh my gosh, don't you ever just get so angry you can feel your cheeks get hot? Ugh. I get that way about messed up food a LOT. :/ & boyfriend does deserve a Man of the Year award. His mom & dad are pretty cool, too– they def raised him well!!

Hehe, thank you!! Glad you think the photo of us is cute. πŸ˜‰ ❀

& oh my gosh, if I had three wishes, one would be for 20/20 vision without surgery or contacts/glasses then the second one would be for my stomach (or intestines) to let me eat what I want!! *still thinking about the 3rd*

    1. It’s really so annoying, why say something is spicy when it’s not? The chicken benedict is a thing of dreams! & oh my gosh, you have to try the ramen. Please make a YouTube video if you find it lol.

  4. A pretty busy beginning of the month I would say…except that bathroom’s trips though everything else sound ok πŸ™‚
I hope you are feeling better! I have it when a restaurant is going downhill and no longer cares about quality just because has popularity! It should be even more interested in preparing and serving even better!

    1. Lol yes, besides the bathroom breaks the beginning of the month has been pretty good. πŸ™‚ I am finally feeling better now, thank you!

I agree, the more popular you get, the more potential you have to get even better but, most restaurants just become careless!

  5. First, I’m so sorry you weren’t feeling well. That’s the worst.

So sweet of your boyfriend to swap with you when your order was messed up. A very thoughtful thing to do!! πŸ’œ

Also, pls tell me you will do a haul post of what beauty items you grabbed at
Shibuyala!! I’ve never heard of this store so I’m so curious to see what you got!

    1. Aw thank you, it was pretty terrible but, am doing better now. ❀ Boyfriend is the sweetest, I don't think I give him enough credit sometimes. :/ I only grabbed one thing for myself at Shibuyala, I mostly went to buy some gifts for a friend. I'll def show you the cute item I got though! I looked it up & saw there a few stores in Cali, a couple in Texas, one here in Vegas, & another opening up in MA soon. How exciting!

  6. You guys always eat the most amazing food. I wish we had these amazing places around here. I’ve basically just been eating the same things over and over. (TV dinners, subs from Walmart, and Taco Bell 2-3 times a week). I think I’m gonna go out to eat this weekend though, so hopefully it will be good.

  7. I like the header it’s cute.
I havent had Quorn’s chicken patties but I have had the nuggets and they’re delicious. I’ll have to try these patties next time. I think fred meyer has them.
The stir fried chicken with basil looks freaking amazing but shame it wasnt as spicy. Also sorry the curry was a letdown. That always sucks when you’re excited for food and it doesnt live up to your expectations.
Haha I had never heard of such request being done at chipotle lol. I’m most likely gonna remember that too even though I didnt personally experienced that haha
I hate it when you mention your preferences to someone making your food and they forget instantly like wtf I just asked haha. Good of him to take your sandwich.
That sucks the food at Sushi Neko is no longer as good. Hopefully it was just this one time. Do you plan on going back there or not anymore after this?
I need another comforter or bedding set. I actually only have two but they get dirty so fast. I think I also need more pillows lol.
I’ve had those spicy noodles but wasnt much of a fan? I thought they were just ok. I wonder if what made your stomach hurt was how spicy it was? Or maybe some other ingredient? Idk. Sounds terrible though. I’m sure you’re better by now as this post is from 10 days ago?
So you did get bored by 13RW! Lol. I felt like the entire season dragged on, some episodes more than others.

    1. Aw, thanks for checking out my header! Happy you think it’s cute. πŸ™‚

The Quorn spicy chicken patties are the best. We actually noticed Sprouts just stocked their “fish sticks” & “buffalo chicken bites.” We ate the chicken bites last night & I hated them lol. So smushy!! Their patties aren’t like that at all?!

The stir-fried basil chicken really was yummy but, when boyfriend asked for spicy level 5, the server was like ‘are you sure?’ & still didn’t believe him! I hate being letdown by food but, man, I think I’m starting to get used to it!

The employee & boyfriend were so mad about the lady asking for the burrito to be stirred but, I kept thinking it was a good idea lol.

I KNOW! She had brought the sandwich back with no avocado so why did she put it on?? I don’t get it lol. I really wish he would’ve returned the sandwich but he always wants to ‘save the day’, it made me feel bad he had to eat it!

Sushi Neko is still good, it just used to be WAY better. I think we’ll be going to other sushi spots more often but, we’ll prob still go there once in awhile. Or their sister restaurant instead.

I know! Comforters & bed sheets feel so nice when they’re new & clean but, they start to feel dirty so fast! The new pillows are great, too. πŸ˜€

Hmm… you’re not that big a fan of spicy foods at all, right? Maybe that’s why you didn’t like the noodles so much? I do think it was the spice that fucked me up but, boyfriend reminded me I also ate the dairy-filled Benedict with him at Hash House & that’s what started it. πŸ˜›

I do feel better now, it lasted like 3 1/2 days LOL.

I did get bored by 13RW!! I’m glad I got through it though!!
