WOW! I haven’t done one of these posts since November of last year. Usually, I don’t buy many items I pick on my own because I get enough from my subscription boxes. There is so much makeup out there, it’s hard for me to choose for myself and, to be honest, I like getting a discount. Which is WHY when I do pick out my own beauty items, a lot of the times, I go to Ross Dress For Less. I seriously hit the jackpot today so I have to show you what I got right now!!
Eyeshadow Palettes x2
Chill in the Six
You Had Me At Aloha
I Paid: $7.99 each
Retail Value: These specific palettes are no longer available on their website but, the same sized ones are $34
Yesterday, I went to the Ross nearest me but, they didn’t have much. I did find the Chill in the Six Palette over there, though, and I even spotted two palettes from theBalm (who are popular but, I’m not personally a fan of), it was what initially set off my beauty shopping spree. I had this urge, telling me I needed to see what they had at the other Ross, just a liiittle bit further away.
And that is how I found everything else I’m about to show you!! I couldn’t believe how much high-end makeup they had. They were mostly all packed in plastic security boxes that can only be taken off at the register, too. How amazing.
Chill in the Six Swatches
You Had Me At Aloha Swatches
Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick in Chiffonade
I Paid: $4.99
Retail Value: $24 (currently on sale at Sephora for $12)
There was a Clinique and an Estee Lauder lipstick, a Pacifica lip balm, a whole pack of theBalm lip tints, Honest Beauty’s Lip Crayon, Smashbox’s metallic lippie, Kat Von D, Smashbox, Buxom and Bite Beauty liquid lips. Bite Beauty’s lip liners and Amuse Bouche Lipsticks were also available.
I nearly had a heart attack! I could’ve bought every single different shade of everything but, phew! I narrowed it down to only two lip items eventually. Since I already have one of Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche Lipsticks and know they’re awesome, my first choice was their Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick. I had to try it! I’m not sure how I feel about the shade I chose and the formula takes forever to dry and got all over my teeth. 😦
Lip Crayon Sheer Lush in Raspberry Kiss
I Paid: $3.99
Retail Value: $12.99
The second lip product I chose was Honest Beauty’s Lip Crayon, it was the only one there and I’m lucky it was such a cute color! I know the Clinique and Estee Lauder ones would have been such a steal and they probably both have amazing formulas but, I couldn’t do that to the animals!! I made sure everything I bought was CRUELTY-FREE. 😀 ❤
Sheer Powder & Sheer Finish Blush Makeup Brushes
I Paid: $3.99 (Sheer Powder) & $2.99 (Sheer Finish Blush)
Retail Value: Their indvidual brushes range from $7.99-$9.99
I can’t find these exact brushes on their website. They must have been discontinued?
7 PC Beautiful Eyes Flip Kit
I Paid: $6.99
Retail Value: $19.99
I admit, I was sad not to get the MODA brushes that Boxycharm included in their box this month so, imagine my joy when I found their 7 PC Beautiful Eyes Flip Kit on the shelf. On Royal Brush’s website, this very set is available, but named without the word ‘Flip’ for some reason, it’s just 7 PC Beautiful Eyes Kit.
Zodiac 25 Color Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette
I Paid: $8.99
Retail Value: $27 (currently on sale at BH Cosmetic’s website for 50% off – $13.50)
I remember Britney (@Surrealistique) recommended BH Cosmetics to me awhile back and she had posted a few hauls from them so when I saw this gorgeous Zodiac Palette, I knew I had to buy it. I don’t usually go for the bigger sized palettes like this but, I couldn’t resist the fun theme and shades! I love how each zodiac sign was assigned both a metallic shade and a matte one. There were two other tempting BH Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palettes on the shelves and I, now, regret not buying them after touching the formula. Both the metallic and matte shades feel super soft, not at all dry, and all of the swatches I tried came out so beautifully pigmented— I was actually stunned.
I also strolled through Ulta last week-ish to pick up a couple essentials:
Miracle Complexion Sponge
I Paid: $5.99
The prices are different wherever you buy it and I actually saw one at Ross for a dollar off… 😡 This is my all-time favorite sponge.
Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Facial Toner in Rose Petal
I Paid: $10.95
Thank you to Rossy (@AyRGalaxy) for sending me a sample of this on my birthday, I can no longer live without it so I got the full-sized bottle!! Any bumps, pores, or red marks that are visible on my face, instantly get smaller and less noticeable after toning with Thayers. It feels so calm and refreshing, I’ve never felt irritated by it in any way and my face feels SO freakin’ soft now. Other toners I’ve tried have done nothing for me.
Alright, that’s it for now. 🙂 What did you guys think of everything I bought? Do you ever shop at discount stores? What’s the best product you’ve ever found on sale? Do you have a favorite facial toner? Which team are you on: Real Techniques or beautyblender?
