August 26, 2019
Hi lovies!! 🙂 My Journal Entries seem to be turning into a weekly thing lately. The last time I wrote was last Monday. On Tuesday, August 20th, I went to Anastasia the Musical!
For dinner, before I went to the show, boyfriend made us an Ahi Tuna Steak salad. Shortly after eating, my cheeks turned super hot red. I was getting heat flashes, my stomach was cramping, I started sweating and getting dizzy.
I thought my Aunt Flo was attacking me and I was just having reeeally bad symptoms but, I was not missing the musical because of it! I strapped up and got in the car, just pushing through the pain. Boyfriend, then, started saying he was getting heat flashes, too. I looked over at him and his arms were all splotched with red…
I looked down at mine and they were also splotchy!
When boyfriend dropped me off, I immediately ran to the bathroom. I did research and diagnosed us with Scombroid Food Poisoning, from the fucking fish. They said there is NO way you can tell if your fish is contaminated until you get sick. There is no scent or color change and even if you cook it all the way through, you will still get sick.
Somehow, the magic on the stage took me away and I felt no pain or uneasiness during the entirety of Act One. I was surprised to see the theater filled with mostly adult couples and adults with their parents. I expected a lot more children than there were.
Everything from the stage set, to the costumes, the dance numbers, the songs, music, plot… they all get an A+ from me. I would have changed nothing!
Anya (who was played by Lila Coogan) absolutely took my breath away. She exuded a perfect “Princess” in the way she walked, talked, sang, and acted. Her solo, Journey to the Past, brought me to tears. I was embarrassed when the lights turned on for intermission.
I spent the whole 15 minutes in the bathroom. It was worse than when I have too much dairy. I was, fortunately, able to pull myself together in time to enjoy Act Two.
Dmitry (played by his understudy Matt Rosell) had so much passion and stage presence. His singing voice was a bit shaky, here and there, but I loved watching him perform. Vlad (played by Edward Staudenmayer) was a fun character; his duet with Countess Lily (played by Tari Kelly), The Duchess and the Common Man, was a blast and definitely one of my favorite numbers. The accent he put on was a bit too strong and muffled at times though, making it hard for me to comprehend.
I was sad when Anastasia ended, the best ones always go too fast.
When boyfriend picked me up, we went straight home and I had to spend some more time in the bathroom. Boyfriend said he was going through the same issues while I was at the musical.
I spent the rest of the night watching TV or something… I can’t really remember.
On Wednesday, August 21st, I didn’t do much of anything. Boyfriend followed a new recipe for some chicken thighs and drummies. I had a sweet potato and asparagus on the side. 🙂
I caught up a little bit with Harlots and still not sure if I want to continue it. It just seems like so much chaos and drama with no plot. Boyfriend and I have also been watching Bring The Funny on Hulu. It’s actually pretty good! I love all 3 judges!
I painted my nails a new color I bought from CVS. I had a $3 off coupon for any Essie Nail Polish. It’s a burnt orange color called, Yes I Canyon. I forgot to take a pic and I’m too lazy now. Maybe later. 😛
Thursday, August 22nd, we drove to Fremont Street looking for the Bronze Cafe. We parked where our GPS told us to and walked where it led us… to find the whole road closed down and tore down?!
We decided to just keep walking and find somewhere else to eat since we paid for parking.
The first casino we walked into was The D and their only casual restaurant was, D Grill.
We both ordered sandwiches that were different but, looked almost identical.
Boyfriend got the Blackened Chicken… it was super dry and tasted like a reheated frozen piece.
My Steak Sandwich wasn’t any better. They sliced the meat into tiny, thin slices and overcooked the crap out of them.
They were outrageously priced for such low-quality. We were quite disappointed.
Afterwards, we went to Starbucks for our espressos. I wrote my Recipe Reviews, got ready for work, and had a couple drinks at home before getting dropped off. I started around 11 PM and left around 3 AM. It was a pretty good night but, I don’t remember much…
On Friday, the 23rd, we went to my beloved, Cafe Zupas.
Boyfriend had the BBQ Chicken Salad and Pulled Pork with Ham Panini. I had the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich on Wheat and the Thai Steak Salad. Everything was sooo yummy and filling, as always.
We made our Starbucks run, then I got ready for work. There was only enough for one drink at home so we stopped at the bar before boyfriend dropped me off. I started around 12 AM and left at almost 4 AM. I didn’t drink anymore for the rest of the night so I sobered up by the end. Why can’t I always be that responsible?
I am still beating myself up for Saturday night.
Let’s start from the beginning. When we woke up, we did our usual stuff, and then headed out to eat Thai food at Table Thai.
We were really sad when our Duck Spring Rolls came out…
AGAIN, in place of noodles, there was an abundance of bean sprouts. Is this normal?? I don’t know but with the duck and the sauce, I actually did enjoy these. Still, with a bit of noodles, they could have been loads better.
Boyfriend got the Ground Chicken Basil Stir-Fry at their highest spicy level. It had a good kick to it but wasn’t over-the-top. I would have preferred a little more basil but, boyfriend really liked it how it was!
I went Plain Jane Style and got the Chicken Pad Thai. 🙂 It was the perfect balance between sweet and savory. Both entrees were big portions. We brought half of each dish home and they tasted fine as leftovers, too!
I wanted to buy a bottle of Patron but I KNEW that we should make the drive out to Total Wine for the discounted prices. Since it was closer to where we were, we tried Lee’s Discount first, we had never been there before but, they had samples of all kinds of booze being given out! Boyfriend had some whiskey and Merlot, lol. After we looked at the prices of the bottles though, we noticed it wasn’t much of a “discount.” We ended up driving out to Total Wine and getting a big bottle of Patron for me and a big bottle of Seagram’s 7 for him. I just don’t get why we buy booze anywhere else!
When we got home, it was already pretty late so I got ready right after we smoked a blunt. I had a drink or two before leaving and was pretty tipsy. These group of guys that have came back a few times before were there, waiting for me. They usually have a bottle of Hennessy but they ordered Patron and pineapple juice… specifically for me. I, of course, had a drink with them and was over my limit by then. One of the guys paid me to continue drinking with him and ended up bringing me into the champagne room, where we ordered another bottle of Patron. I fucking blacked out because after getting into the room, I don’t remember anything else. I have NO idea what I’ve done or said and I threw up all over our truck. Boyfriend had to stop on the freeway for me on the way home. I hope I’ve not embarrassed myself too much but, I’m definitely having anxiety over it. What if I did something to get myself in trouble?! I wouldn’t even remember! I am SO BAD. How many times have I told myself not to over drink?! Ugh.
It goes without saying, I woke up yesterday, feeling completely MISERABLE. My head was spinning and I was sensitive to all the lights and sunshine. I couldn’t think of anything I wanted more than Chicken Noodle Soup, so even though boyfriend absolutely despises Panera Bread… that’s where we went.
I got a bowl of the soup with bread on the side. I didn’t eat that much of it but, it did make my stomach feel more and more settled with every bite.
What really helped me was the super cold, Non-Dairy Peach and Blueberry Smoothie. It’s my new obsession!! It felt so good on my stomach and brain and tasted freakin’ fresh and delicious!! What Panera lacks in food, they make up for in drinks. We also really enjoyed their Prickly Pear Hibiscus Iced Tea.
Boyfriend got a whole Chili Lime Chicken Salad. He quickly removed the avocados after I took the photo– the menu didn’t mention they’d be on there.
He also got a Steak and Cheddar Sandwich with pickled onions and not much other stuff on it. 😛 Towards his last few bites, he got tired of the onions and had to pick them off. He said they were too sour.
I didn’t try any of his food because I was not feeling well. We packed the rest of my soup to-go and headed to the dispensary. We headed home after that and I spent the rest of my night playing Sims 4. I made a new family of me, boyfriend, and our three cats. 😀
Today, we went to Sprouts and bought groceries for the next few days. When we came home, we ate dinner. We had a rotisserie chicken with tomato fish sauce dip and brown/wild rice. I started typing this when we finished eating and now, here we are!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and the best week ahead of you. ❤
