Hi lovies!! 🙂 My Journal Entries seem to be turning into a weekly thing lately. The last time I wrote was last Monday. On Tuesday, August 20th, I went to Anastasia the Musical!

For dinner, before I went to the show, boyfriend made us an Ahi Tuna Steak salad. Shortly after eating, my cheeks turned super hot red. I was getting heat flashes, my stomach was cramping, I started sweating and getting dizzy.

I thought my Aunt Flo was attacking me and I was just having reeeally bad symptoms but, I was not missing the musical because of it! I strapped up and got in the car, just pushing through the pain. Boyfriend, then, started saying he was getting heat flashes, too. I looked over at him and his arms were all splotched with red…

I looked down at mine and they were also splotchy!

When boyfriend dropped me off, I immediately ran to the bathroom. I did research and diagnosed us with Scombroid Food Poisoning, from the fucking fish. They said there is NO way you can tell if your fish is contaminated until you get sick. There is no scent or color change and even if you cook it all the way through, you will still get sick.

Somehow, the magic on the stage took me away and I felt no pain or uneasiness during the entirety of Act One. I was surprised to see the theater filled with mostly adult couples and adults with their parents. I expected a lot more children than there were.

Everything from the stage set, to the costumes, the dance numbers, the songs, music, plot… they all get an A+ from me. I would have changed nothing!

Anya (who was played by Lila Coogan) absolutely took my breath away. She exuded a perfect “Princess” in the way she walked, talked, sang, and acted. Her solo, Journey to the Past, brought me to tears. I was embarrassed when the lights turned on for intermission.

I spent the whole 15 minutes in the bathroom. It was worse than when I have too much dairy. I was, fortunately, able to pull myself together in time to enjoy Act Two.

Dmitry (played by his understudy Matt Rosell) had so much passion and stage presence. His singing voice was a bit shaky, here and there, but I loved watching him perform. Vlad (played by Edward Staudenmayer) was a fun character; his duet with Countess Lily (played by Tari Kelly), The Duchess and the Common Man, was a blast and definitely one of my favorite numbers. The accent he put on was a bit too strong and muffled at times though, making it hard for me to comprehend.

I was sad when Anastasia ended, the best ones always go too fast.

When boyfriend picked me up, we went straight home and I had to spend some more time in the bathroom. Boyfriend said he was going through the same issues while I was at the musical.

I spent the rest of the night watching TV or something… I can’t really remember.

On Wednesday, August 21st, I didn’t do much of anything. Boyfriend followed a new recipe for some chicken thighs and drummies. I had a sweet potato and asparagus on the side. 🙂

I caught up a little bit with Harlots and still not sure if I want to continue it. It just seems like so much chaos and drama with no plot. Boyfriend and I have also been watching Bring The Funny on Hulu. It’s actually pretty good! I love all 3 judges!

I painted my nails a new color I bought from CVS. I had a $3 off coupon for any Essie Nail Polish. It’s a burnt orange color called, Yes I Canyon. I forgot to take a pic and I’m too lazy now. Maybe later. 😛

Thursday, August 22nd, we drove to Fremont Street looking for the Bronze Cafe. We parked where our GPS told us to and walked where it led us… to find the whole road closed down and tore down?!

We decided to just keep walking and find somewhere else to eat since we paid for parking.

The first casino we walked into was The D and their only casual restaurant was, D Grill.

We both ordered sandwiches that were different but, looked almost identical.

Boyfriend got the Blackened Chicken… it was super dry and tasted like a reheated frozen piece.

My Steak Sandwich wasn’t any better. They sliced the meat into tiny, thin slices and overcooked the crap out of them.

They were outrageously priced for such low-quality. We were quite disappointed.

Afterwards, we went to Starbucks for our espressos. I wrote my Recipe Reviews, got ready for work, and had a couple drinks at home before getting dropped off. I started around 11 PM and left around 3 AM. It was a pretty good night but, I don’t remember much…

On Friday, the 23rd, we went to my beloved, Cafe Zupas.

Boyfriend had the BBQ Chicken Salad and Pulled Pork with Ham Panini. I had the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich on Wheat and the Thai Steak Salad. Everything was sooo yummy and filling, as always.

We made our Starbucks run, then I got ready for work. There was only enough for one drink at home so we stopped at the bar before boyfriend dropped me off. I started around 12 AM and left at almost 4 AM. I didn’t drink anymore for the rest of the night so I sobered up by the end. Why can’t I always be that responsible?

I am still beating myself up for Saturday night.

Let’s start from the beginning. When we woke up, we did our usual stuff, and then headed out to eat Thai food at Table Thai.

We were really sad when our Duck Spring Rolls came out…

AGAIN, in place of noodles, there was an abundance of bean sprouts. Is this normal?? I don’t know but with the duck and the sauce, I actually did enjoy these. Still, with a bit of noodles, they could have been loads better.

Boyfriend got the Ground Chicken Basil Stir-Fry at their highest spicy level. It had a good kick to it but wasn’t over-the-top. I would have preferred a little more basil but, boyfriend really liked it how it was!

I went Plain Jane Style and got the Chicken Pad Thai. 🙂 It was the perfect balance between sweet and savory. Both entrees were big portions. We brought half of each dish home and they tasted fine as leftovers, too!

I wanted to buy a bottle of Patron but I KNEW that we should make the drive out to Total Wine for the discounted prices. Since it was closer to where we were, we tried Lee’s Discount first, we had never been there before but, they had samples of all kinds of booze being given out! Boyfriend had some whiskey and Merlot, lol. After we looked at the prices of the bottles though, we noticed it wasn’t much of a “discount.” We ended up driving out to Total Wine and getting a big bottle of Patron for me and a big bottle of Seagram’s 7 for him. I just don’t get why we buy booze anywhere else!

When we got home, it was already pretty late so I got ready right after we smoked a blunt. I had a drink or two before leaving and was pretty tipsy. These group of guys that have came back a few times before were there, waiting for me. They usually have a bottle of Hennessy but they ordered Patron and pineapple juice… specifically for me. I, of course, had a drink with them and was over my limit by then. One of the guys paid me to continue drinking with him and ended up bringing me into the champagne room, where we ordered another bottle of Patron. I fucking blacked out because after getting into the room, I don’t remember anything else. I have NO idea what I’ve done or said and I threw up all over our truck. Boyfriend had to stop on the freeway for me on the way home. I hope I’ve not embarrassed myself too much but, I’m definitely having anxiety over it. What if I did something to get myself in trouble?! I wouldn’t even remember! I am SO BAD. How many times have I told myself not to over drink?! Ugh.

It goes without saying, I woke up yesterday, feeling completely MISERABLE. My head was spinning and I was sensitive to all the lights and sunshine. I couldn’t think of anything I wanted more than Chicken Noodle Soup, so even though boyfriend absolutely despises Panera Bread… that’s where we went.

I got a bowl of the soup with bread on the side. I didn’t eat that much of it but, it did make my stomach feel more and more settled with every bite.

What really helped me was the super cold, Non-Dairy Peach and Blueberry Smoothie. It’s my new obsession!! It felt so good on my stomach and brain and tasted freakin’ fresh and delicious!! What Panera lacks in food, they make up for in drinks. We also really enjoyed their Prickly Pear Hibiscus Iced Tea.

Boyfriend got a whole Chili Lime Chicken Salad. He quickly removed the avocados after I took the photo– the menu didn’t mention they’d be on there.

He also got a Steak and Cheddar Sandwich with pickled onions and not much other stuff on it. 😛 Towards his last few bites, he got tired of the onions and had to pick them off. He said they were too sour.

I didn’t try any of his food because I was not feeling well. We packed the rest of my soup to-go and headed to the dispensary. We headed home after that and I spent the rest of my night playing Sims 4. I made a new family of me, boyfriend, and our three cats. 😀

Today, we went to Sprouts and bought groceries for the next few days. When we came home, we ate dinner. We had a rotisserie chicken with tomato fish sauce dip and brown/wild rice. I started typing this when we finished eating and now, here we are!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and the best week ahead of you. ❤

  1. Oh hey beaut! First of all ew that food poisining sounds nasty as heck! How awful you don’t even know if the fish is bad until you’ve eaten it! That’s great huh?!? Bless you! At least you were still able to enjoy Anastasia, it sounds like it was really good based on the fact you said you wouldn’t change a thing! That’s always good! I love the name of that Essie polish too, I think I might buy it for my friend if I can find it 😍😍 would be the perfect gift hehe!

Uhhh BEER FEAR! Boooo! Girl we have all been there, please don’t feel down about it. At the end of the day, you can’t remember what you said or did but I am so sure if anything bad happened you would know about it by now! Someone would have said something to you already!! So I can guarantee you’re fine hun and all is well ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Don’t dwell on it too much hun, honestly it’s not even going to matter in a couple of weeks time like this time next year are you gonna remember that one time you got black out drunk? No, it’s not going to affect your life so don’t let it affect it now! And thank goodness you have your lovely boyfriend to look after you (and vice versa)!!! It’s super annoying that you almost have to drink with your job, it must make it hard because you almost can’t really control how much you drink if that guy specifically paid you to drink more with him?!? Maybe smuggle in some snacks to keep you sober-ish whilst your there, even for your own safety beaut! You gotta look after you! But please don’t feel bad hun, you are beautiful, supportive and a wonderful, unique person! Be proud of yourself ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Hii babes!! ❤ The food poisoning WAS nasty as heck. I can't believe that happened to us! I had read about it many times but never knew I'd be a victim lol. I am happy I was able to watch Anastasia still though. 🙂 It was such a beautiful show, I really wouldn't have changed a thing! You are so thoughtful to think that nail polish would be a cute gift. ❤ Love that about you!

Ugh yes, I had the absolute worst beer fear over Saturday night but, thank you thank you thank you for always having just the right words to say to make me feel better. Sometimes I do still think about when I blacked out drunk two other times at work though so maybe this will still haunt me in the future, too. :/ If boyfriend wasn't around to take care of me, I don't know where the heck I'd be by now!! I'm so very grateful for him. ❤ ❤ It IS extremely hard not to drink at my job! So many clients want us to sit & drink with them BUT ultimately, it is up to me to be strong-willed & stay sober. 😛 I actually ALWAYS have a bunch of snacks in my locker lol my co-workers always know I've got the goodies & our House Mom cooks food & brings tons of stuff for us to eat, too. I just never go back in to the locker rooms to eat anything when I'm wasted LOL. I am a mess!!

❤ ❤ again, thank you for all the encouraging words, Jennie, they truly mean the world to me!!!

  2. Oh, gosh. It’s a terrible to get food poisoning, but to get it during an event!? Ugh, i’m so sorry that happened to you all! I love how musicals and works can just bring a person to tears, that is so pure and magical in itself! I hope work turned out okay for you, did you find out if anything happened when you blacked out at work!? Also, final question, hehe, why does boyfriend not like Panera Bread!? Hope your week is going terrific so far and thanks for sharing what seemed like a rough week for you!

    1. I couldn’t believe we had food poisoning, y’know?! I never thought it’d happen to us & our skin getting splotchy was scary… I am happy that I still went to the musical though, it’s truly magical to be brought to tears. ❤ I did go to work last night & my managers laughed at me a little bit but, I was not in any kind of trouble LOL, phew!! & hey, ask all the questions you want, babe, no worries!! Boyfriend doesn't think the food at Panera is that good, he says it's plain & a waste of money…

Thank you for reading, I hope you're having an awesome week, too!!!

  3. omg I’m so sorry to hear about how sick you both got from the fish – I can’t even imagine, but you’re strong to have made it through the Anastasia performance! How did you like the musical compared to the original movie? I liked the musical, but it just couldn’t compare to how I felt about the original.

Also, the non-dairy peach smoothie looks and sounds delicious!

    1. I am scared to eat fish ever again now but, thank you, I am so happy to have made it through the musical. 😀 I can’t remember the movie at all for some reason! I’ll have to re-watch it somehow.

I haven’t stopped thinking about that smoothie since I drank it LOL!

  4. Girlfriend sorry to hear about the food poisoning . Glad that your better now. Watch the drinking. Not telling you to stop cause God knows the Sports Diva loves her Jack Daniels and Fireball , but just be careful . You never want to get that wasted that you have to wonder if you did something that you would have to question later. The D grill looks like it hasn’t changed much since I worked at Fitzgeralds /The D . As usual , love the reviews and pictured of the food. You’ve given me so many ideas of what to eat when I come to Vegas .

    1. The food poisoning was scary business! & thank you for looking out, Jo Ann. I totally do need to watch the drinking, especially at work with clients!! I never want to black out, I absolutely hate it. 😦

The D Grill was pretty bad lol, we won’t be going back! Always love giving you ideas to come back & visit though!!! ❤

  5. Hi Hunida! I was really sick for almost four days last week too, and I suspect it may have been food poisoning. Either that or I picked up giardia while camping, which would be bad news, cause that lingers for 6-8 weeks.

It can be very hard to limit your drinking when you’re with people who keep offering you booze. I imagine it’s even harder when you’re with clients, because you don’t want to tell them no and hurt their feelings.

I have to say, I’m not too crazy about Panera’s either, but I’m glad they helped to cure your hangover!

    1. Hi Josh!! Nice to hear from you. ❤ Luckily, the food poisoning we got passed within a day. I can't believe you were sick for 4! That's so scary but, I hope you're feeling 100% better now & it isn't that 'giardia'!

Exactly! It's super hard when everyone around you is drinking but, ugh, I just need to not OVER drink. 😛 I always think I'm okay, until I'm not.

Yeah, Panera isn't the best spot for soups & sandwiches so I get why you & boyfriend hate it lol. 😛 It's kind of girly, honestly!

      1. It’s nice to be back! I couldn’t comment for over a month, because almost all of my comments were being classed as spam. Of course, I kept procrastinating on fixing the problem…

Giardia’s a parasite you can pick up from contaminated water. Obviously drinking untreated water’s the easiest way to get it, but just rinsing your face with the water can be enough. You can also get giardia from anal sex with someone who already has it.

Just so we’re clear, if I’d gotten giardia, it would’ve been from the lake water while camping…not the other way.

Lol some of Panera’s sandwiches are good, but way too small! It is a little girly, but not so much that it threatens my hyper-fragile gender identity.

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Wow! Your comments were being sent to spam for a whole month? That’s so annoying! How did you fix the problem? One time I contacted WP support & they were NO help!

Oh my gosh, I’ve never heard of Giardia! That’s so scary you can get sick just by washing your face! LOL thanks for making it clear how you could have gotten it! I wouldn’t judge ya either way. 😉

I just think there are better options that Panera!

          1. Yea, it was super annoying…I just stopped reading other people’s posts because I couldn’t comment on them. I ended up contacting Akismet support, the people who manage the spam on WordPress, and they fixed the problem right away.

            Lol thanks for not judging!

            I agree about Panera!

  6. Oh my fucking gosh! Food poisoning?? I’m so sorry doll!! I hope you’re feeling much much better now that sounds terrible!
On the bright side, I’m glad you were able to enjoy the show!
I would love to see the nail polish color it sounds cute lol
The sandwiches look so good but it sucks they were crappy. You can tell when something is fresh or has been frozen. Oh well.
Cafe Zupas sounds really good. I’ve had paninis before and loved them! You must take us there too I would love to see what else is on the menu.
I haven’t had spring rolls, like ever, so I’m not even sure what’s normal but I’d expect there to be some noodles too lol
Alex loves pad thai so maybe take us there too lol
Omg I’m so sorry that you blacked out! That’s the worst! Hopefully nothing happened. 💙💙
I havent been to Panera in years I wasnt impressed with their menu either but I have actually had one of their cheese paninis idk if they still have it but I liked it and that was about it lol
I hope you’ve had a better week since then! Miss you lots! I’m catching up on reading right meow lol

    1. Boyfriend & I keep saying to each other, “remember that one time we had fish poisoning?” LOL it was seriously unbelievable. I didn’t think it would ever happen to us!

I’m so happy I still got to sit through the show comfortably though. & I just repainted my nails but you’ll see the nail color in my August Boxy post!!

The sandwiches sucked, they def freeze their meat there & you’re right, you can always tell!

I would LOVE to take you to Cafe Zupas & to get spring rolls!!! ❤

Gosh, I am surprised that nothing happened when I blacked out. My locker was even neater than I leave it when I'm sober? Phew!! Thank you for caring, Rossy. ❤

Panera is allllright. I feel like it's kind of girly, like for women when they need a little break while shopping all day!!

I hope you've had a nice week, too & an even better weekend!! ❤ ❤ I think we are both caught up on each other's blogs now!! Love ya!! ❤

Ah okay I’m behind a bit with reading. Hopefully I catch up in the next few days.
Ah yes I’ll do my best to try spring rolls before you take me there, so I can compare haha
Well thats good to hear! I’m glad everything is in order. Get it? 🤣 cause your locker was neater lol. Ok I’ll see myself out.. 😶
Haha yes! Panera being described as girly is exactly it!
My weekend was eh lol. I didnt do anything, really. Nothing exciting at least. I’ve been getting weird headaches, I also feel a bit lazy and have been stress eating. I’m sure i know what it is, I just need some time to get over it lol.

Let me know when you try the spring rolls. I'd love to hear your thoughts. 😀 & I LOVE YOU lol yes, everything was in order. 😉 ❤

          1. I’d be too honestly lol. Funnily I ate salmon yesterday with my dad. It was good. And I feel fine so I think all is fine lmao
No we had some little thing happening here, it’s nothing bad or anything but its taking me a while to get over it I thought I was fine haha one of the reasons I havent come back, just cause I’ve also been feeling unmotivated. So…I will come back a bit this week to announce my giveaway winner though I feel so bad I keep putting it off.

            1. When I was looking at the fishes most common for poison, I didn’t see salmon so maybe it’s okay always. 🙂 Ahh, if you need to talk about whatever’s going on, you can always e-mail me. ❤ I'm sure everyone who entered understands that the winner announcement has been delayed. ❤

  7. Whaaaaat???? OMG that is SO SCARY about that food poisoning from the fish!!!! I didn’t know we could get that! Reminds me of the WEEK that I was sick as a dog from eating this horrible fish called Escolar. DO NOT ever eat it. Doesn’t matter if it’s fresh or not, it can make you deathly ill. My friend and I ate the exact same Escolar sandwich. I got sick. She didn’t. I missed a week of work.

I’m amazed you were able to make it to your musical after your fish-poisoning. And I’m glad it worked its way through you pretty quickly and was over and done with. Those red splotches would’ve freaked me out. I would immediately think I had measles. LOL

Oh dear…blacked out!!! That sounds so scary! Did you ever find out from anyone what all you said or did? LOL

    All the food looks scrumptious!!!!!!

    1. Seriously, I always heard people say they are afraid of raw fish but you can get poisoned even if it’s cooked! I’m not sure if I’ve ever heard of Escolar but, I will for sure stay away from it. Thanks for the warning!

I know! I am super amazed I made it through the musical, too. I am glad I didn’t eat my whole fish filet! The red splotches did freak me out but they disappeaered so quickly, phew!

Lol yeah my managers were poking fun at me a bit but they said I’m not in trouble or fired… hehe. 😛 I hate when I black out!

      1. Man…I better never get poisoned eating one of my beloved tuna melts! It’s bad enough I have the whole mercury thing to deal with. Do I need that special fish poisoning on top of the mercury poisoning????

Too bad the Escolar is so vicious on one’s body because that was the most delicious fish sandwich I’d ever eaten in my life.

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Yeah! Boyfriend thought it was the mercury poisoning but that’s way more serious. For the scombroid poisoning, they said it can be in any tuna! No smell & doesn’t even matter if it’s cooked!

I have never tried Escolar! What does it do to your body?!

          Liked by 1 person

          1. Oh dear…are you sure you want to know what Escolar does? Now keep in mind me and my friend Lori ate the same sandwich and it didn’t do anything to her, but this article tells EXACTLY what I had to deal with for a solid WEEK:

            The Problem with Escolar

Escolar cannot metabolize the wax esters naturally found in its diet. These esters are called gempylotoxin, and this is what gives the flesh of escolar its oily texture. The downside is that these esters are are very similar to castor or mineral oil, and when full portions of escolar are consumed, they can cause gastrointestinal symptoms.

To be frankly and bluntly specific — and I’m sorry for this — consumption of escolar causes explosive, oily, orange diarrhea. People have reported that the discharges are often difficult to control and accidents can happen while passing gas.

I had forgotten that it was orange!!!! Yes!!! And my god the smell….ughhhhh. You can see why I couldn’t go to work. I wasn’t working at my work-from-home job yet.

            Worst experience of my life.

The fish is banned in Japan and Italy.

              1. I shudder at the memory. What I remember most, however is the ride home. My friend and I had driven to Oxnard or somewhere to go kayaking. We ate our fish sandwiches and then went kayaking. THANK GOD the symptoms didn’t kick in while I was in the kayak! Can you imagine????? And then we drove back to L.A. and I was so glad it was my friend’s turn to drive because I started getting chills. Freezing to death. And so sleepy. I remember that long drive home more than I do the other stuff that came later.

Oh and I had actually Googled the fish while we were eating it and we both kind of laughed it off like “Oh boy…hope that doesn’t happen…” Who knew that it would definitely happen to one of us and not the other?

The chicken stir-fry was pretty good! & ugh, yes. I had way too much to drink lol. Luckily, nothing bad happened!

Ooh next time I play I will take a screenshot of my family. 😀 The cats are sooo cute!! I can’t wait to show you!!

That’s so rubbish, but you are frigging incredible for pulling through and watching Anastasia! Man, I’d of loved to of seen it, and I’m so glad they had a wonderful Anya 🙂
Oh hunni, well I’m sure all will be fine at work, if you did something inappropriate, then surely someone would of called and told you after?

You're right! I'm sure I'd be fired on the spot if I did something inappropriate. I'm just crazy & always worry!

Hope you have a great week, too, lovely!! ❤ ❤

  10. Wow I can’t believe you got so sick from that tuna! That’s crazy. I’ve never heard that you can just randomly get sick like that, and there’s no way to tell if the fish is bad. Kind of makes you wary of eating it again, right?! O.O
