Ipsy Glam Bag PLUS | July 2019

Hey there fellow beauty lovers! I’m finally here to discuss July 2019’s Ipsy Glam Bag PLUS with you.

BUT, FIRST OF ALL, did you guys hear about the NEW Ipsy Ultimate?! You can sign up for it now! The first ones will be sent out in October, containing a makeup bag with 8 full-sized products and 4 deluxe-sized ones, it will cost $50/month. The mini (OG) Glam Bag’s price is going up from $10/month to $12/month and a makeup bag is being added to the PLUS, which will be staying at $25/month. I am in cahoots about which combo of subscriptions I should get. What’s the best deal, do you think?

ANYWAYS, sorry to be so dad-ish but, I have to say it… let’s DIVE IN to the box. ๐Ÿ˜‰

What Was In My Box?

Theme: Dive In

Thrive Causemetics
Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara in Brynn

Ipsy’s Description

A single swipe of this volumizing, lengthening mascara will even help make sparse lashes look like extensions. It comes with an innovative comb-shaped wand that adds definition, separates lashes, and helps prevent clumping, while the formula is infused with Orchid Stem Cell Complex to stimulate lash growth, and soft fibers for dramatic length and lift.

My First Impressions

Believe it or not, I am actually in love with a mascara. The new ‘innovative‘ wand, mentioned in the description (above), is truly something special. It separates my lashes, leaving me with a clump- and flake-free look. I do wish there was a more dramatic effect but, the fact that there were seriously NO smudges under my eyes after a long night of work, it has won my heart.

Cruelty-Free? Yes
Retail Value: $24

Pixi by Petra
Glow Mist

Ipsy’s Description

Step up your summer glow with this lightweight mist. It’s formulated with 13 natural essential oils (like rose flower and lavender), aloe vera, and fruit extracts to set your makeup, hydrate, protect, and give your skin a gorgeous, dewy finish.

My First Impressions

Hmm… my skin tingled and burned a little when I sprayed this on my bare face. I let it dry and then, applied makeup. I didn’t notice any difference in pigmentation and nothing went on smoother/easier. I continued to feel a slight burning sensation when I applied liquid makeup on, like concealer and foundation, but the feeling quickly went away. I will not be using it on my bare face anymore but, I DID try it again AFTER applying makeup. I don’t see a MAC Prep and Prime Fix+ finish– I don’t see anything at all.

Cruelty-Free? Yes
Retail Value: $15

Touch in Sol
Pretty Filter Waterful Glow Cream

Ipsy’s Description

Looking for the most innovative skincare? Look to K-Beauty brands, like Touch in Sol. This lightweight cream is formulated with hyaluronic acid and hydrolyzed collagen to plump, firm, and moisturize your skin. Plus, it’s safe and gentle enough for all skin types, including sensitive.

My First Impressions

Ooo, prrreeetttyyy!! I am currently using the Sunday Riley cream they sent me in my June PLUS box so I haven’t even opened this yet. I am dying to, though! I love the purple color of the jar and I am super interested in K-Beauty lately.

Cruelty-Free? I’m gonna say no but, I’m unsure
Retail Value: $28

Tone Up Primer Essential Glow

Ipsy’s Description

Infused with black tea, shiitake mushroom, chia seed, and more nourishing ingredients, this primer helps correct and blur fine lines, pores, and uneven skin texture–all while giving you subtle sheen. The best part? It helps your makeup look fresh and bright all day long.

My First Impressions

I am trying a new moisturizer and face wash right now so, I don’t want to add a primer into the mix. I’m saving this for future use. I love the ingredients mentioned and the claims sound wonderful (if they’re true).

Cruelty-Free? Yes
Retail Value: $35

HUDA Beauty
3D Highlighter Palette in Bronze Sands

Ipsy’s Description

We’re head over heels for anything this beauty influencer-turned-makeup maven creates. With a mix of one creamy and three pressed powder pearlescent highlighters, this palette has everything you need to customize your glow.

My First Impressions

I have only used the shade ‘Aruba’ for a kind of bronzer all over my face. I dusted it on my t-zone, cheeks, and chin. I really liked the outcome and the pigmentation was amazing. One little swipe showed up right away yet, wasn’t too dramatic. It blended into my skin perfectly.

There are instructions, written right inside– where a mirror should be, on how to use each shade of the palette on your face. Honestly, I’ll probably not be doing that… I like them all separate. I was surprised that ‘Barbados’ was creamy! I’m nervous to try it but, it is just absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to see it on my cheeks.

Cruelty-Free? Yes

Total Box Value: $147

I am IN LOVE with Ipsy and everything that they’re doing! I am so ready to see all the new changes! If you’re looking to sign up for either of their three subscriptions, consider using my referral link (at no extra charge to you!): right here.

  1. I love that Ipsy always mixes it up by using well known brands and the smaller, not very well known brands.

Iโ€™ve loved the few things Iโ€™ve had from Touch in Sol, so I have no doubt you will probably love the product you got!

  2. All of these products in this box seems amazing. Itโ€™s makes me want to start my subscription back up. I think I might go ahead and sign up for the $50 subscription because itโ€™s seems like a good deal for the amount of products youโ€™re getting. Great review Hunida ๐Ÿ’œ

  3. All the packaging of these products look so pretty and gorgeous especially the mascara packaging and the Touch in sol cream! Super cute!! That mascara does look really good, and even better that itโ€™s Cruelty Free! Also I love Huda Beauty, that highlight palette looks gorgeous, Iโ€™m definitely going to have to try it for myself now my ABH is almost finished, itโ€™s time to try a new one and that one just seems perfect. Thanks for sharing Hunida โค๏ธ

    1. I know, right? The Touch in Sol Cream is sooo pretty, I love it & I haven’t even used it lol. I will probably be repurchasing the mascara in the future, it’s so good!

The Huda palette is really nice! I hope you like it if you do end up getting it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for reading, Jennie!! โค

    1. I am loving the highlighter palette, all of the shades are perfect for my skin tone. ๐Ÿ˜€ I’ve never tried using two mascaras before but, I’ve heard a lot of people do that. Do your lashes get crunchy??

          1. Okay please don’t think I am a crazy person as I tell you this. I use Maybelline lash sensational and Loreal voluminous paradise. The Loreal I started using bc it’s supposed to be a dupe for the better than sex from Too Face. It definitely adds thickness, but can be clumpy esp with a fresh tube of mascara. I like it better when it’s had some time to dry out a bit. That’s where the Maybelline comes in because it does a great job separating the lashes and not making them so clumpy. Both formulas tend to be pretty wet when you first open so I like them both better when they’ve had a little time to dry out. I have left a tube or two open for a few hours to help that process ๐Ÿ˜ Okay! That’s a long enough paragraph to answer your very simple question!

  4. Good to know you like the mascara. I have heard that thrive causemetics is really good!
Hmm about the glow mist, I dont think I’ve ever seen that or heard bloggers or beauty influencers use that before. I wonder if it’s one of their lesser known products. Sucks it felt like it burned your skin on bare skin. Might be a product to pass on.
Omg the touch in sol glow cream looks super gorgeous! The packaging ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I can’t wait to see what you think of it when you finally get to try it!
The huda palette looks pretty but honestly not impressed with the shades so it wouldn’t be something I would personally use lol.
Lots of “glow” products this month.

    1. I am obsessed with the mascara. It is so good & I looked at Thrive’s website & I love what they stand for. I was thinking about getting the mascara shipped monthly to me lol. I wish they were sold in stores though.

Hmm… sketchy that no one talks about the Glow Mist lol. Maybe it didn’t work for anyone? I won’t be using it anymore, I don’t think.

I KNOW RIGHT? I love the packaging of that Touch in Sol cream. I can’t wait to try it. It’s next on my list of moisturizers. ๐Ÿ˜€

I really liked the shades of the Huda palette but I know they’re not your style. I gotta watch some vids on how to use the creamy one!

There WAS a lot of Glow stuff this month, nice catch, I didn’t even notice!! They should have made that the theme!!

      1. You go through mascaras monthly? Lol it takes me a while to get through one or I just toss it when it starts drying up lol
Maybe, but they do also have a ton other products that people like more.
Yeah because “dive”…? What about it was diving? Maybe even summer glow as a theme would have been cool lol

        1. Yeah, I throw my mascaras out at the first sign of drying out! I use a tube or two a month. ๐Ÿ˜› I like them when they’re fresh because they’re so much easier to use.

I know, I hope to try something by Pixi that will work out for me! Their packaging is so cute lol.

I agree, Summer Glow would have been a WAY better theme name!
