Indian-Spiced Crispy Baked Chicken Wings & Curried Cauliflower

Recipe found on Mind Over Munch
My Rating:
5 out of 5

My Review

YUM!! Everything about this meal was fantastic. The wings were very crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside, and absolutely spiced to perfection with all the Indian flavors (maybe the price tag on the Garam Masala WAS worth it, eh?). The raisins were a cute, sweet touch in the savory cauliflower side, too.

For boyfriend and me, this dish wasn’t, at all, too spicy but I will warn those with sensitive tongues that, there is a definite kick to the seasoning.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Crispy Baked Chicken Wings

  • 3 Tbsp garam masala

  • 1 Tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ยฝ tsp salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Sticky Sriracha Meatball Lettuce Wraps

My Review

Mmm, mmm!!! I was a BIG fan of these meatballs. The Sticky Sriracha sauce was the right blend between sweet and salty, with a tiny bit of spice. I LOVED how flavorful the meat was, even without it, and how they weren’t too mushy to bite into. They cooked evenly and had nice little burned edges. Every bite was just amazing.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 1 lb extra-lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp dried minced onion
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Sticky Sriracha Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Sriracha
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 head Boston leaf lettuce
  • sliced red cabbage
  • Carrot matchsticks
  • Diced red pepper
  • diced cucumber
  • sesame seeds
  • scallions, sliced
  • chopped cilantro
  • Extra sriracha

  1. Wow! I think this is the first time all three recipes have gotten a 5 out of 5 rating!!! They all sound really delicious and me and the 92-yo will definitely be trying all three. Soon! Thanks for the warning on the spice level. It’s funny because Mom always asks all panicky “That one’s not spicy is it???” But whenever I give her a plate of something that I think MIGHT BE too spicy, she shakes her head “Nuh uh” an gobbles it down. So, she can eat spicier things then she thinks she can. LOL

    1. I know!! When I gathered the recipes for this week, I was like “every single one was SO delicious!!” I couldn’t rate them any lower. I hope you & your momma enjoy them, too!!! โค That's too cute that she's afraid of spice but she can handle more than she thinks lol, let me know if she likes the Indian-spiced wings. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. Oh no problem my pleasure I don’t think that I can like a post of yours and not comment if I’m being honest ๐Ÿคฃ
And I’m sure we’ve talked about it, me cutting red meat out is mostly due to health reasons just like with milk lolol I do have it every once in a while but I’ve massively reduced my intake. Still make stuff for Alex though I know he’s not ready to give it up completely and I’m not gonna force it on him either lol

        1. LOL I am the exact same way with your blog!! I always have a response to your posts. ๐Ÿ˜€ โค

That's sweet of you not to force the diet on Alex. Boyfriend would die if I tried to take meat away from him, LOL. I hope the less red meat & milk you eat, the better you feel!!

          1. Awwwhhh!! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ
I just couldn’t do that to him lol. He is a man after all. Sad though because he looked up his diet based on his blood type and he actually shouldn’t be eating red meat as much, especially pork, his fave, so I feel really bad for him because he has decided to cut back on it too lol. I’ll have to come up with beef recipes just for him.
I definitely feel much much better. I havent eaten red meat and who knows how long lol.

            1. Aww poor Alex!! I heard so many bad things about pork & try to stay away from it but it’s soooo goooood!! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

I’ve heard a lot of health benefits of quitting red meat, so happy it’s helping you!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Man, Hunida…I don’t know WHAT I am doing wrong in the kitchen but once again my food did not come out looking anywhere near as delicious as Boyfriend’s food does! And I wonder if he put in the 1 TABLESPOON of salt that the recipe specifies for the spices for the chicken. I doublechecked and yah, the original recipe definitely says 1 TABLESPOON. Man that’s a lot of salt and ours were so salty I had to pull the skin off after they were cooked AND wipe them down with a damp paper towel. They were still salty after that.

HOWEVER, the overall flavor was really good so I want to make them again sometime but maybe only use 1/2 TEASPOON of salt.

The cauliflower with raisins & nuts was really good!!!

    1. Crazy that it was so salty!!! I asked boyfriend if he used 1 TBS & he said, “no, I just grind up what looks right, I never measure salt or pepper” lol. We use Pink Himalayan Salt, it’s a bit stronger flavored than regular salt so he never goes by the recipe anyways. Oops! I’m so sorry!! I didn’t even think to mention that.

Glad you enjoyed the cauliflower though! โ™ก

    1. You know, meatballs aren’t my very favorite, either but these were so yummy! I recommend making them a bit smaller so they crisp on the egdes. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you enjoy them if you try them!

    1. I know, right?! It was a good week in food!! ๐Ÿ˜€ The Indian Chicken Wings tasted good but one of my other blogging buddies said the 1 TBS of salt was too much. Boyfriend eyeballs his salt so he said he probably didn’t use that much! Just a heads up, if you try it. ๐Ÿ™‚

That is going in my Top 5. I could eat nothing but the mushrooms & mashed potatoes for the rest of my life.
