Hello beautiful people of WordPress. ❀ Happy Independence Day to all Americans!! I can still hear cracklings of fireworks but, sadly, they weren’t high up in the sky enough for us to see on our balcony. Everyone give a round of applause for my cat-son Sushi for not hiding behind the toilet for the first year, ever. I am so proud of him!! Twinkle Star and Benji were never afraid of the noise.

I have been addicted to watching game shows/reality TV on Hulu so I neglected the blog once again. I have missed writing and chatting with you all! I haven’t even played the Sims since the last time I posted! Some of the shows I’ve been watching are (but, are not limited to): Mental Samurai, America’s Got Talent, Big Brother, Love Island, Chopped Junior and Deadly Wives. I’ve also been watching Kids Try on the HiHo YouTube Channel and the celebs reading Mean Tweets on Jimmy Kimmel’s YouTube Channel.

But mainly, I’ve been sick with stress because of my car situation. We left it at boyfriend’s work because we couldn’t afford to get it towed and fixed. We didn’t want to get it brought home then, to a repair shop again later so he asked his manager if it would be cool to leave it in the parking lot. She literally said “no worries” and three days later, it was GONE.

We had to go on the police department’s website to find out where the car had been taken to. My dad called me later that day and asked if we had gotten the car fixed yet. I told him how it got towed and he suggested that I visit him in Minnesota to pick up a better car (he’s a mechanic/car salesman) instead of paying tons of money to get it out of the towing company’s lot and fixed up at the shop… we didn’t even know what was wrong but, we knew for sure it wasn’t the battery, the starter, nor the security system. Going back home for a mini vacation and roadtripping back didn’t sound half bad either…

We called the towing company to see how much it would cost to just let them keep our car, it was still pretty hefty and super unfair but, cheaper than pulling it out and risking it never running again.

On June 26th, even though I rarely work on Wednesdays, I was on a mission to get my car out of or kept in the lot. I hadn’t quite made up my mind yet. For dinner, we walked to Albertsons and got a great deal on diced chicken– BOGO FREE!

The first package was seasoned with different herb-spices, salt, and pepper served alongside a mixed greens salad topped with hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, red onions, croutons, and Balsamic vinaigrette. It was yum, yum, yummy!!

At work, there weren’t that many customers but I was lucky to find a group of Cambodian men who were impressed with the fact I knew all the words they asked me to say in our language. I’m actually not the best at speaking Khmer but, I’m lucky I knew the right words to make some money off them! They were just proud I knew anything at all and even more than some of the guys in their group, too. πŸ˜‰ I was even proud of myself, LOL. I spent the whole night drinking and partying with them– it was actually such a blast!!

BUT, then I was sooo hungover, I couldn’t get myself to work on Thursday, June 27th. I tried my very best to go through my before-work routine, I even had an espresso from Starbucks but, that’s what made me feel the worst. I took a nap immediately after just a few sips…

I know. I thought it was supposed to keep me awake, too.

I didn’t even have a headache or nausea. I couldn’t throw up or drink anything to cure me. I was just feeling D E A D and weak.

Boyfriend made his own sort of Asian sauce with some stuff we had in our pantry and tossed our second package of diced chicken in it. He paired it with some garlic Earth Balance toast and a Balsamic Vinaigrette side salad. Everything was good but, not surprisingly, all of the flavors didn’t mix well.

On Friday, June 28th, boyfriend walked to Albertsons to pick up some spaghetti ingredients. He found a jarred sauce with Italian sausages and mushrooms in it– I don’t know what it was called but it was def one of the best sauces we’ve ever had!!

Work was mediocre for a Friday but EXCELLENT for the summer!

On Saturday, June 29th, I had spaghetti leftovers and boyfriend went to McDonald’s to try their new burger from France. He said it tasted the same as all McDonald’s food LOL– I know exactly what he means.

Work went really well and I’d say it was good for any night of the week, in any season. I am crossing my fingers SO hard that it’ll be the same this weekend!!

On Sunday, June 30th, I needed the day off and we needed to decide what we were gonna do about the car. My dad and boyfriend thought it would be a better idea to go to Minnesota but, I was still confused. I feel like that car was such a waste! Maybe nothing too bad was even wrong with it… it could have even been worth it to pull it out but, the car my dad has waiting for us is probably going to be more reliable in the long run so, in the end, we called an Uber to bring us to the lot.

We waited in the blistering hot heat for an hour and a half for the guy to show up, take our payment, and scan some papers. Luckily, we found a table under the shade to sit but, STILL. We were the ones paying them, they stole our car, and to top it all off, they made us wait forever to get it over with!! I was so not happy but, it did feel quite relieving to just get rid of the hassle. I wish we had never bought that car in the first place… like my dad said, (*in a mocking voice*)“it was donated for a reason.”

After finally releasing our responsibility over that POS, we took the Uber back home, smoked a fat blunt and then Ubered to the Boulder Station Casino Buffet. For the price, food quality, and options– I’d give that place a 10 out of 10. It was super satisfying after the longest day ever.

When Monday, July 1st rolled around… I had to get back to work and start saving for our trip. Boyfriend went to Albertsons and the Laos Market to pick up a rotisserie chicken and the ingredients to make my dad’s special fish sauce. I had a shot of Patron before I got picked up and another mixed Patron and Pineapple Juice while working. The night didn’t go so badly at all.

Tuesday, July 2nd, we went to Albertsons for dinner yet again. We picked out some sandwich ingredients and mayo-based salads for the sides.

The sandwich had pepperoni, turkey, and roast beef on it with mixed greens, tomatoes, red onions, and mayo. The bun was an Egg Onion one we found in the bakery section and the sides were the Chicken with Mixed Nuts and Fruit Salad and the Mustard Macaroni Salad from the deli. πŸ™‚ Everything was so dang delish and felt extra summery. ❀

Work that night was horrible. The amount of dancers that showed up was RIDICULOUS. I expected that though because, of course, no one wanted to have to be there today. I am still totally grateful for making the tiny profit I did…

Yesterday, we finally used our brains and picked up more than one dinner from Albertsons. The chicken deal was still going on so we got two packages of the diced stuff again, a pack of bacon, mayo-based seafood with shrimp salad, a big family-sized Asian salad kit, beer brats, buns, corn on the cob, baked beans, a cucumber, stir-fry veggies, and stir-fry sauce.

For dinner, we ate the beer brats with baked beans and corn on the cob.

It was another summery meal and I loved it all!! ❀

I took the day off to recharge… and I just knew I couldn’t handle sitting around again. I expected the same sort of crowd as Tuesday, y’know?

I actually hate that today is July 4th because I really wanted to work BUT, I already knew it was a bad idea! Last year (or the year before?) I went and seriously was the only dancer and there were NO customers… LOL. Everyone was outside watching fireworks and partying with family/friends elsewhere, I guess…

We had another spell of bad luck when I tried to buy our one-way tickets to Minnesota, too. There was this awesome deal I could’ve gotten IF my dad’s vouchers worked but for some reason, they were invalid. If those were mine, I would have thrown a fit and chewed the airline out BUT, they are his so, he can do as he pleases about it…

Without the vouchers, switching airlines was going to be cheaper so I went that route. I tried and tried again to submit my payment but kept getting an error that I should wait a few moments and try again… I remembered how my bank blocked my payment when I bought my tickets to NY so, I called and asked them if that was what was going on. The man told me that they approved it but, there was no fee/amount. I called Expedia’s customer service and they told me that the flight had changed or something… “even if it’s still online– it’s no longer available. You will have to change your schedule.” The problem was that every other flight was double the price I wanted. I complained to my dad and he tried to use his voucher but came across the same problem of it being invalid, even logged into his account. He told me to just freakin’ buy it because the price could go up. I guess it would have been way too nice for us to have gotten any kind of deal or discount with the type of luck we have so whatever, my dad bought the tickets for us (for now). He is the very best even if he talks so much crap!! I am just happy to officially be going home for the first time since moving to Vegas.

I e-mailed a professional pet sitter I found on Google and read reviews about on Yelp. I was thinking of using Care.com but, then read horror stories about the service and saw someone say on a forum, “why not hire a professional pet sitter?” WELL, because! I had NO idea there was such a thing, LOL. Why did no one ever tell me?

The lady I contacted seems so legit. She hasn’t e-mailed me back about a time but we are supposed to meet her this coming Tuesday. I didn’t expect her to e-mail me on a holiday so I’m not stressed. I do hope she gets back to me tomorrow, though. I need to know she’s responsible. It’s really so last minute since we’re leaving on Wednesday and she’s really our only option. That part kind of freaks me out. I hope we all like her (me, boyfriend, and the 3 cats).

We cleaned our house today, to make sure it looks nice and spiffy for our meeting with her and hey, it’s always nice to come back to a clean space after vacation, right?

For dinner, we had stir-fry chicken with egg noodles. The bottled sauce we bought was a bit salty so boyfriend had to add sugar and such to make it better. In the end, he got it tasting so good!!

I finally took photos of all my sub box items and responded to all of your wonderful comments. I truly apologize it took me a week to get back on here. 😦 I missed writing so much (if you couldn’t tell by the length of this post…).

I still haven’t tried any of the sub box items but, I will get to it and still talk about everything with you guys eventually. Sadly, June was my last Boxycharm because I am so overloaded with items I haven’t tried yet. I think I am addicted to Ipsy though, I can’t press skip or cancel on them for some reason… not even on the samples.

I won’t be doing a Currentlys this month though. I did have a few things to share but, I’ll skip it. πŸ˜› I’ll write one for August… when I’ll also host my big two year blogiversary giveaway!! Don’t forget!!

I’ll probably post another Journal Entry before we leave on the 10th and then, I may or may not have some posts scheduled while I’m away but, I reeeeally do plan to get back into a real consistent blogging groove when I return from Minnesota on the 16th. Until then, I will be catching up on all of your posts. I’m seriously a whole month behind but, don’t want to skip any!! WordPress is so rude when I binge-read and comment, too. I hate being sent to spam. 😑

Last night, boyfriend made us awesome sandwiches with bacon, turkey, tomato, mixed greens, and red onions. He’s making those again but, I told him to also add sliced cucumbers. I didn’t take a picture but this time, I will. I’m gonna end this entry now though so you’ll have to wait until my next one to see it. πŸ˜‰

Hope you all have the very best weekend!!!

    1. RIGHT? We seriously have the absolute worst luck with cars. We go through about 2 or 3 in each year. 😦 I was so confused about the plane tickets not working, too! Ugh!

Can’t wait to be blogging on the regular again when I get back. ❀

    1. I know!! I feel so bad for the pets during fireworks. I heard a dog next door barking the whole time. 😦 I think his parents were out & about– I felt so sad for him/her!!

      Thank you, Diane! ❀

  2. Wow, the car situation really sucks. I’m so sorry! On a positive note all the food looks so delicious! Albertsons was my favorite grocery store growing up but they’ve all closed down in Florida at least a decade ago :c

    1. Ahh thank you! The stress over the car is eating me alive lol. Food is def a cure all, though. ❀ I love Albertsons deli but, their groceries are a little pricier than my preferred store!!

  3. That car situation sucks! I would be so mad that they towed the car, if the manager said that it could stay there then it’s not illegally parked right? I would have thrown a fit!

I hope your new car ends up being more reliable.

    Happy Independence Day!

      1. No not at all . It’s funny how that works . I hope this next car is better. When you purchased the other one did it feel right ? I alway ask my son that when he looks for a car and after a bad experience he’s like that didn’t feel right. Lol

  4. Ok I just came to check your blog and it didnt appear on my feed for some reason. Anyway I’m glad I stopped by.
And sorry about your car! That’s the fucking worse. It seems they’re less lenient about leaving cars in parking lots over there huh? Here they at least leave notice before taking them wtf lol
Anyway… so nice of your dad to tell you you can pick up another in Minnesota. But wow all that deal with the voucher being invalid and then cancelling or changing the flight wtf. You know what, actually, my cousin told me about her calling Expedia for some trip her and her family were taking but that it was the worst booking everything through them. They messed up and or overcharged them for something but my cousin doesnt take shit from nobody so she got it all fixed lol. Anyway, dont use Expedia if you can help it.
Anyway nice to see your posts around here. And I’ve already said this a bunch of times: skip my stuff up until Thursday. That’s really the only thing you’re missing. Everything else is more or less just beauty stuff Haha
I hope you have a wonderful mink vacation and I hope that this pro pet sitter is legit!! Sending lots of love, hugs, and safe travels! xx

    1. So glad you stopped by, too!! β™‘β™‘β™‘ I HATE that car & the place we bought it from. Yeah, Vegas seems to be very quick with the towing & stickering of cars! It’s really ridiculous!!

I am so grateful for my dad & I can’t wait to see my family in MN so I guess everything happens for a reason!

I actually love Expedia & have never used anything else for flights nor hotels, they’ve always been good to me. I guess it was Spirit Airlines that took off that sale price I wanted but yeah. I didn’t like how Expedia hadn’t updated their site on time!! I’m glad your cousin was able to get everything fixed in her situation!!

I love your beauty stuff, okay? I want to & I am going to read it all!! πŸ˜„

Thank you so much, Rossy!! β™‘β™‘ We are meeting the sitter tomorrow & if she is legit, guess where we will be vacationing next?!? πŸ˜‰

      1. Maybe they just have different laws or whatever down there since it’s more of a touristy city, I don’t know.
Awh yay! You plan on staying in MN for a while or are you just picking up the car and coming back?
Ah I see, yeah that can be kind of a drag when it doesn’t get updated quick enough. Like you’d think it would. But at least you got it all fixed as well.
Oooh fun! Hope the sitter meeting goes well! And if I don’t get to comment/reply to any other comments from you before you leave, I want to say that I hope you have an amazing vacation!! πŸ˜€

        1. Yeah, you’re right! All states have different laws about everything.

We are here in Minnesota for a few days, we’ll be leaving on the 14th. πŸ™‚

The sitter meeting went well but, I’m still nervous about not being with them!! Thank you so much, Rossy! ❀

  5. Man oh man that car!!!!! What a hassle!!!! And then the whole plane ticket fiasco. I would be curled up in a ball, crying. Glad your dad is helping you out.

All the foods look super yummy as usual! I have to get back into cooking mode this week so I went shopping today. I hope I can force myself into the kitchen to do it. Not sure what my problem is but lately I just can’t.

I miss Albertsons and their deli and bakery! They make the best cakes!!! With that sugary frosting I love.

So proud of Sushi kitty!!!! Little brave boy.

    Safe travels!

    1. Yes, the car was seriously a hassle. We should have never bought it! 😦 & I am running into more problems with my plane ticket as I type. I am almost ready to curl into a ball but I won’t let life get me down lol!

We have been cooking randomly without recipes lately. It’s been real simple & easy!

I love Albertsons cakes & deli, too!! What is your grocery store called in Arkansas?

I was so proud of him, too. ❀ Thank you, Jinjer!! ❀

  6. Bloody hell, you certainly had some eventful few days!
That car thing… they took it after only 3 days? Ugh. Well, i hope your dad is right, and you find a better deal.
That airline crap reminds me of last week when i was trying to book a room in a bed & breakfast and it kept declining. I got super annoyed, and just hoped they won’t then take the payment 3 times on a later date… :/

    Good luck with the trip!!

    1. RIGHT? It was only 3 days AND his stupid boss said it would be fine when it wasn’t. 😑

I sure hope the car my dad is selling to me is more reliable. We have the worst luck with all of them though, so we’ll see!

Ugh!! That’s so annoying you ran into the same declining problem. I also was a bit worried that they’d take the money out on a later date but I kept checking my account for a few days after & didn’t see any charges, phew!! Lol.

      Thank you, Norrie!! ❀

  7. Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry to hear about your car!! That totally sucks and I can see how it would just feel like a waste all around. What a disappointment! That’s so nice of your dad to have a car for you guys, though, and at least you get a fun trip out of it! I bet it will be nice to go home and see everyone for a few days. I hope you guys have a good trip! Also, I’ve heard Rover.com is great for pet sitters if you’re still not sure about one. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Courtney. That car was definitely a waste all around. It worked for only a month and a week! Lol my dad is still making me pay for the car… but yeah, I am happy he has one all fixed up & ready for me! I am a bit excited to visit MN & do the li’l road trip home though. πŸ™‚

I read a bunch of horror stories about both Rover & Care lol. I was so sketched out & of course, believe the bad reviews over the many good ones!

  8. The car thing totally sucks! It’s always hard to figure out what to do because there is no easy choice and you can never be sure if it’s the best decision, but sounds like you probably did the right thing! I hope the cat sitting lady works out too so it’s one less thing you have to worry about. Hang in there girly! There is a light at the end of the tunnel!

    1. Seriously, the car troubles are outta hand LOL. We constantly are having them– no matter how many new cars we buy! The visit to MN will make this new one more worth it though, I am hoping. πŸ˜›

I really hope we like the cat sitting lady, too. We are supposed to meet her later today!

Thank you so much for your positivity, Jess. I’m desperately searching for that light!!

Yeah, we've been in Nevada nearly 3 years & have not returned to Minnesota yet. πŸ˜› I can't wait to share all about the trip with you!

I am sorry for the wait on the subscription box posts!! I will try to use everything so I can write about it all when I get back! Having the new car will hopefully clear my mind & help me write more!!

Ok that car situation sounds AWFUL- ugh, I really hope at this point the car issues are behind you- how frustrating!! I also think they should have definitely paid for that whole situation because they said you were ok to leave it there, right?!

I have to hear more about this McDonald’s burger from France- what is it exactly?!

I’m excited you got to go back home! Can’t wait to read about it! xo

    1. LOL yeah, I was so proud of my li’l brave Sushi. ❀ He didn't let the fireworks bother him at all, I was so surprised!

Uh yeah, I totally wish they would've paid for that because they LIED about it being okay to have our car there. His manager really just shrugged it off like it wasn't a big deal. I'm still mad lol.

The McDonald's burger just had Gouda cheese on it. I guess they brought regular McDonald's items from other countries to America for a little bit. None of it is really good or anything!

Thanks for stopping by, lovely!!! ❀ So nice to hear from you!!
