Journal Entry #253

Wowza, June is seriously FLYING by. It’s already the 19th?? This is actually NUTS right now. It doesn’t feel like that long ago since I wrote a Journal Entry but, I guess it was nearly a week ago again!! We have to go all the way back and recap from when I last posted. πŸ˜›

Before I went to bed Friday night/Saturday morning, I finally used my bath bomb I received in my Marianella Pamper Me Box. The scent was a little strong at first but, faded away nicely over time. The water just turned black, not at all fizzy, and also stained my skin and tub. It was hard work wiping it all off but, at least my skin felt softer.

Since I was on my period, I didn’t really feel like doing anything even if it was my birthday on Saturday. Since we went grocery shopping on Friday, we had meals to cook at home, so we stayed in. On Sunday, we went to Jersey Mike’s.

I got the Classic Italian on Wheat with no cheese and boyfriend got the Club Supreme (or Supreme Club?). He kindly offered to let me take a photo of it but, I was too lazy sooo… just enjoy the looks of mine. πŸ™‚ I had only been one time before when I lived in Washington but, it was boyfriend’s first time. We both really liked our sandwiches!!

By Monday, I was finally relieved of my Aunt Flo and I needed to get my booty back to work. I was feelin’ so bloated and angry for the past two weeks but, I’m a whole new person now. πŸ˜€

We made our last meal at home, watched Celeb Family Feud while eating and then went to get espressos at Starbucks. I reshaped my nails while watching YouTube vids when I got home. It was getting late by the time I finished so I only got to spruce up my toes and put a clear coat on my fingers. I’m pretty proud of my shaping though!!

Work was pretty good. I had super nice clients except for the very last one. He was gross and also, stupid. He somehow put his debit card in the ATM, no, NOT in the card slot, like… actually IN it but, I was able to somehow slide it out using another card. I was there from like 11 PM-3 AM.

Yesterday, we went out to eat at RA Sushi at the Fashion Show Mall. I’m a little upset now that I think about it. I totally should’ve stopped into Sephora for my birthday gift… or can you only get those on the day of?

I saw they had Hibachi Entrees which I was craving but, hate sitting at that communal table and watching the chef cook the food in front of us. They never portion the stuff equally or maybe I’m just a gluttonous.

It was around 100 degrees but, their big door was open so inside wasn’t much cooler than outside. I didn’t mind and always want to sit outdoors but boyfriend usually starts melting so, I always bring a sweater and sit inside for him. It was my turn to choose a spot (since it made no difference)!!

We were lucky to have walked in during Happy Hour. Their Salmon Nigiri and Garlic Yuzu Yellowtail were both on the half-off menu. πŸ˜€

I honestly didn’t think their salmon quality was any better than AYCE and holy crap, they drowned their yellowtail in that sauce!! It was so salty and I couldn’t even taste the fish. 😦

We both got the Steak and Shrimp Hibachi Entree. It came with yummy veggies and chicken fried rice. The shrimp were a bit overcooked but, the steak was on point. I couldn’t finish my bowl so I know we made the right choice of going here instead of a traditional hibachi spot.

I have been DYING to try Honeymee since it opened up but, every time we go to the mall, I have to work the day of or the day after. Their ice creams are made of TRUE MILK so yeah. That would have never worked out.

I had a musical to go to at 7:30 but, I thought I’d be okay!!

We had such a hard time deciding what we wanted to order because EVERYTHING sounded amazing.

We shared a Honey Hibiscus Tea and it was just OKAY. The Hibiscus flavor was too artificial and the tea was a bit too sweet.

BUT THE FREAKING HONEY AFFOGATO, you guys, has me drooling just looking at it. The ice cream and honey were both SO pure and wonderful, I’ve never tasted such clean dairy and perfectly fresh and sweet honey– the color of it was nearly clear. The coffee at the bottom was the right amount of bitter to finish it off. Gosh, just wow, it was amazing. My mouth is seriously salivating right now thinking about it.

I hope Honeymee stays open for awhile because since living in Las Vegas, we’ve seen three different shops in this same location. I need this in my life forever. Even though I am still dealing with the consequences as I type.

We went to the dispensary to get more weed and also stopped at Albertsons to buy some ground coffee. I wanted to drink a cup or two before seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but, nah, my stomach was having enough of a fit already… if you know what I mean.

There were a ton more kids than usual, of course, but actually they were all so well-behaved. It was the parents who kept talking to them and asking them “is that how it happened in the movie? I don’t remember that!” or “how are you doing? You okay?” over and over again.

The show started at 7:38 PM, AKA 8 minutes late.

I was reading that boring Eleanor Oliphant book and nearly dozed off. Like, how long was she going to go on about Raymond’s mom’s house?! I am done with her and her far-beyond-me vocab. It was a draaaag and I don’t care about all the good reviews.

What I DID enjoy, what kept me awake, was the musical!! It went by super quickly and ended earlier than excepted but, man was it CUTE.

I loved how each Golden Ticket winner got their own song. They made it seem like a music video each time and it was so awesome. There were some really cool props and special effects, but MAN, there were so many screens playing cartoons and different videos a lot, too. I got a headache from all of it by the end.

My biggest complaint was how loud the music was. I could barely hear or understand the singing especially during Augustus Gloops’ and Veruca Salt’s songs– they had strong accents so it made it 10x worse.

The cast also seemed a bit tired and less lively than I would have liked besides Charlie, who was played by Collin Jeffery. He was adorable, had so much spunk, and his voice carried throughout the whole theater. The Oompa Loompas were actually terrifying and the way the other kids were taken out of the competition was WAY more gorey and scary than the original.

All of the songs were fun and upbeat, the choreography was a bit all over the place but, the ballet dance scene in “If Your Father Were Here” with Mrs. Bucket and the ghost of Mr. Bucket was beautiful. I also enjoyed hearing a slow song in the midst of all the chaos.

I do think the show was quick and upbeat to keep kids entertained throughout the whole thing but, there are definitely some 18+ jokes sprinkled in that will keep the adults laughing and I am still a bit shocked by how the other kids were taken out of the factory.

Boyfriend picked me up when the show was over and then, I played Sims 4 all night. There’s a new expansion pack coming out on the 21st but, I just bought Jungle Adventure and haven’t done much with it so I’ll wait until their next sale to get it. πŸ˜‰ It does look awesome though!!

Today, all I’ve done is take a shower, smoke a blunt, and write this. We’re probably gonna heat up some dinner to eat now and then, I’m gonna spend my night gaming. I’ll try to be back with a post of some kind tomorrow before I go to work but, I have to paint my nails so I might not be back until Friday!!

  1. Oh my god, that honey affogato looks like the best thing ever! My mouth is seriously watering drool just thinking about it…

Ice cream kinda messes me up too, though. I can handle most dairy, but ice cream seems to be harder on my stomach. But, sometimes it’s worth it.

    1. LOL my mouth is watering again now, too. That honey affogato was seriously amazing!! & yess, ice cream is probably the worst on my stomach but, it is SO worth it once in awhile. πŸ˜€

  2. I have never had affogato of which you speak often and I need it, need it, need it.

Mmm I miss Jersey Mikes! Your sandwich looks delicious!

Charlie sounds like it was good and interesting and yes, stupid-ass parents, different from the movie. LOL I don’t understand why so many parents these days talk to their kids CONSTANTLY, asking them questions about everything. Let the poor kids have some peace and think their thoughts for awhile.

I, too, wonder where the heck the time has gone. Wasn’t it JUST CHRISTMAS??? How can it be almost July????

    1. You do need to try an affogato!! It’s seriously amazing. ❀

Jersey Mike's is probably the best sub shop we've been to, aside from Potbellys which aren't around here!

I KNOW! I so agree about the stupid ass parents. Their kids were doing just fine so I don't get why they constantly needed to ask if they needed anything or were enjoying it… like give the kid some space!!

Really though… time is just flying by!! Summer will be over before we know it. 😦

  3. I hate cleaning the tub it is the worse task ever. Are you dairy free or lactose intolerant? I guess that is kinda the same thing. I need recommendations for food because I love dairy and I don’t think I could part ways. Family feud is the best, the answers they come up with are ridiculous. I don’t like when chefs cook in front of me at restaurants either. I find it awkward especially when they throw the food to go in your mouth. It never makes it! lol I always hated the Oompa Loompas they scared me in both movies. The movies besides them are great! I love Sims 4! I use a lot of mods and custom content that I downloaded. I have way more options of cute clothes and home decor. I hope you are doing well. β˜ΊοΈπŸ’•

    1. Lol I have to agree about the tub being the worst task ever, aside from doing the dishes though!

I am lactose intolerant, unfortunately. 😦 I guess it’s a bit different than “dairy-free” because I think those people choose not to eat it. I have a couple posts of my fave dairy-free snacks & alternatives. I could link you to them if you want! I have never found any good ice creams though. 😦

LOL seriously HATE when they throw the food around. I just want to freaking eat it on my plate & not waste it by playing! πŸ˜› But I didn’t really ever think of the Oompa Loompas as creepy until this musical! They weren’t made to be evil in the movies, were they?! I can’t remember.

Yesss!! Sims 4 is the BEST. I have just started getting into mods & CC. What are your favorite sites to download your stuff from?!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Yes, I hate doing the dishes too. I ask Tyler to do them when there is a lot and he kindly does. Yeah. I think I’m lactose intolerant too. Yeah that would be great if you could link the snacks and alternatives. I don’t think they were meant to be evil. I just get scared easily. I hate scary and creepy things. Tyler made me watch Sweeney Todd with him the other day. I hated it. lol Hmm I can’t remember the sites it was such a long time ago. It takes a long time for them to download. I’ll list these two links. At first I just picked things out singular. Then I found sets and just downloaded the folders. I found some mess up the game though. So you have to fix in the settings to allow cc and mods.

        1. Lol my boyfriend does our dishes all the time BUT the compromise is that I clean the tub. πŸ˜› Being lactose intolerant totally sucks! You can find my dairy-free recommendations here: https://hunidasblog.com/category/dairy-free-me/ πŸ™‚ hope you find something delicious that will help curb your dairy cravings!

I’ve never watched Sweeney Todd but I kind of like creepy things. Even though they give me nightmares for weeks LOL.

          Thanks for the links!! ❀

  4. The worst thing about a bath bomb is when it stains your bath, like seriously I just had a relaxing bath and now I’ve gotta hard core clean? Uh!!! Also HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY HUNIDA!!!!! I hope you had a lovely day and this is your best year yet!

And yes, I can’t believe how fast this month / whole year is going… crazy crazy! Let’s make the rest of the year the best of the year! Enjoy the rest of June Hunida! ❀️

    1. I saved the cleaning for the next day which might have been a mistake, making it even more tough to scrub off!

Thank you so much, Jennie!! ❀ I will try my best to make the second half of the year better than my first. I hope you are enjoying your June, too!! ❀

  5. The sandwich looks amazing! I haven’t had a sub sandwich in a while, but it’s one of my fave meals! The thing about portioning food equally at a Hibachi place is so relatable, girl. I thought I was the only one that thought that LOL!

And OMG, Happy Belated Birthday, Hunida!!! πŸ’“

    1. Sub sandwiches are just such a great meal, aren’t they? One bite & you get everything, hehe. πŸ™‚ LOL I am SO happy to know that I’m not the only one who gets upset about the portioning at Hibachi places. I was feeling greedy when I said that but it’s SO true!!

Thank you so much, Nunzia!!! ❀ ❀

  6. How is Jersey Mikes?? I’ve never eaten there! Firehouse Subs is my favorite, and of course I’ve had Subway, Quiznos, and Jimmy Johns too. Do they do hot subs at Jersey Mikes or only cold like Jimmy Johns?

The honey affogato looks FREAKING DELICIOUS!! OMG I need that in my life lol

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I liked Jersey Mike’s! They sliced the meat & cheese right in front of us on one of those big machines & the sandwiches were super yummy! It was def better than Subway & Jimmy John’s but, I’ve never tried Quiznos or Firehouse Subs! Do you have Potbelly’s near you?!

You DO need that honey affogato in your life. It was amazing!!

    1. Thank you so much, Kristen! I had heard about bath bombs leaving a mess but, it had never happened to me before. I was very upset lol! The musical was definitely delightful but some parts were def scarier than I expected!

  7. Oh my the black water makes it look like drain water but i guess looks are decieving, your skin turned out nicely moisturized! URGH BLOATEDNESS, its the worst, i feel fat i feel gross, good for you now that its over. Hahaha, that client, was he drunk? I think you can get the gift on the month itself! Omg, why did they put so much sauce!? how is one supposed to appreciate it! That honey affogato looks so good and there’s coffee at the bottom GOSH. I hope your readers will see this and patronize that place! Wow, that book is really bad eh? Oh well. The play sounds so lovely although extenuating circumstances may have made it hard to enjoy ): Alright, catch ya on the next one!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. LOL the black water is def not pretty, it totally looks like drain water but I did love how moisturized my skin was afterwards. πŸ™‚ Being bloated is seriously the worst feeling– so glad it’s over!!

I am pretty sure that customer was drunk. The spot he put it in was just a crack in the machine. It didn’t look anything like a spot for your card LOL.

Oh good to know about the Sephora gift! I better run in & grab mine before the month ends!!

RIGHT? Who the heck drowns yellowtail like that?! 😦 The affogato was amazing, I hope they stay open for awhile!

YES, to me, Eleanor was SO boring. I am sure the second part of the book picks up or something but I couldn’t make it past 30%. I did love the play though. πŸ˜€

Thanks for stopping by, Cordelia!! ❀

  8. YAY! So glad you finally enjoyed a nice relaxing bath  A couple of bloggers have had hibachi lately and it’s making me crave it so badly! We have a Benihana right across from us, but also have to finish all our groceries in 8 days before the move- the struggle!!!

I think we have a HoneyMee here too! I see it all over insta- so good to know it was really tasty and anything affogato- yessss pah leeeassseee! I was just gonna say hope the lactose didn’t bite too badly- but then you answered that in the next line- well hopefully by this point it’s all better πŸ™‚

Always so enjoy your broadway reviews! Thank you for sharing, Hunida! XO

    1. Yess!! The bath was so nice, you inspired me to hop in. πŸ™‚ I haven’t been up-to-date with bloggers lately but I love how we have all been eating hibachi!! I am still somehow in the loop lol. I have actually never tried Benihana though! There is one at the same mall we were at. I can’t believe you’re already moving in 8 days!!

GIRL, HoneyMee is a MUST. They had a Matcha Affogato too. Looked amazing!! But yeah, dairy hates me. 😦

Thank you for reading & commenting, Mackenzie!! ❀

  9. I always liked the idea of taking baths, but can never bring myself to actually do it.
Last week, in the hotel i did – after like 10 years of having showers only. It was quite nice. I think a black bath bomb would prolly just freak me out. One of my phobia about bath is that the water gets “dirty”… πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

That ice cream w honey looks soooo yumm ❀

    Liked by 2 people

    1. LOL yes, the black bath water does make it look dirty, doesn’t it? I heard a bath really is just bathing in your own dirt/dead skin so I get why it’s a phobia but, it’s soooo relaxing, I can deal with it lol.

I neeeed that honey affogato again. So yummy!! ❀

  10. Hey Girl! Happy Belated Birthday! Man that Honey affogato looks delicious! That’s annoying about your bath bomb staining, hate when that happens… it makes the whole experience bitter sweet. Glad you enjoyed Charlie and The chocolate factory, I kind of love that the Oompa Loompas were a bit freaky, and that there were a few adult jokes in there too πŸ™‚ xxxx

    1. HI KAYA!! Thank you so much. ❀ That honey affogato was sooo wonderful. I need to have another one right now lol. I was so sad about staining the tub but it wasn't the hardest to get off, luckily. I loved the adult jokes in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory but I was NOT expecting all the deaths LOL.

        1. It was seriously dark how they killed all of the other children but I do get they wanted to shake things up a bit & it was still way fun. πŸ˜€ I would LOVE to see Matilda!! The next one I’m seeing is the Book of Mormon at the end of July!!

          Liked by 1 person

          1. In the film you at least see the children leave the chocolate factory, a little worse for wear, but they’re still breathing!
I’ve heard great things about the Book of Mormon. Next day day I may have to treat myself and get tickets for the next show! Xxx

            Liked by 1 person

            1. Yeah! That’s exactly what I thought happened in the movies. The other kids were all dead in the musical except Mike TV who was turned into a doll-sized human LOL. I can’t wait to see Book of Mormon. I’ve heard so many good things!! πŸ˜€

Oooo I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was touring near me but I didn’t plan to go. I’m okay with skipping out on it but it’s funny you had kids that were well behaved and parents that weren’t! Knowing my luck both would be misbehaving if I went… Haha!

  12. Heyyy, guess who’s behind on reading again? Lol
I loooove Jersey Mike’s! I go there so often as opposed to Jimmy John’s or subway lol
Hahaha the guy that put his card in the atm, how dumb must you be or rather how drunk if he was haha
I think all month long you can pick up your bday gift from sephora, it’s only at ulta that you have to wait until your actual bday for them to send you some code or whatever
That sucks about the salmon and the yellowtail being so salty
Oh oh oh that honey affogato looks so cool! I think Alex has gotten affogato ice cream but I dont remember. Well whatever he got was super delicious and I cant wait to go back to that shop it’s some gelato place I think near our favorite japanese restaurant
I had forgotten that you had the charlie and the chocolate factory musical to go to! I’m glad you enjoyed it!. I would have loved to see what they did differently, if it was really more gorey than the original when they got taken out that’s something I gotta see lol

    1. Lol who me? I am a whole month behind on reading & almost 2 weeks behind on writing & responding. So sorry if I missed any of your comments because I can’t find them all. 😦 Are you all caught up again yet?

I couldn’t believe that guy put his card inside the ATM like that. The part where you put your card is clearly visible but yeah he was prob both extremely dumb & drunk LOL.

I never went to Sephora or Ulta to pick up my birthday gift. I’m kind of disappointed. I wanted to try that Kat Von D powder. 😦

I was so sad they drowned the yellowtail in that salty sauce but yessss, that honey affogato was EVERYTHING. πŸ˜€ I would love to try the one by your fave Japanese restaurant!!

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory was a blast. I was so shocked about the gorey scene changes. You would def enjoy it, I think!!

Oh that has happened to me before! I have lost comments because they disappear from my notifications. I try to stay on top of that but its hard LOL But yes, I’m all caught up now! I’m two days out which isn’t much because of the festivities, hardly anyone has posted anything. Me however, I think I posted four times this week and I’m about to post five times next week most likely :O
You might still be able to pick up your gift from Ulta, you just need whatever code they sent you to your email.

  13. Wow, I can’t believe that bath bomb stained your tub and skin!! I didn’t know some of them did that, lol.
I’ve heard sooo much about Jersey Mikes lately!! I really want to try them and that sub looks delicious! Are they like Subway?
I hate it when places keep their doors open so it’s just as warm inside as it is out. I mean, it’s not a big deal when it’s nice weather but when it’s super hot, it’s just annoying!
Oh my GOSH, that Honeymee ice cream looks amazing!! I’ve never heard of anywhere drizzling honey over their ice cream, but that is brilliant and sounds so delicious!
Oh I love Willy Wonka! I’ve only seen the movies but it sounds like a fun play. Too bad the volume was so loud, I could see how that would make it less enjoyable. :/

    1. I know! I was so upset about the tub & even more so when I saw it on my skin. 😦 I had read reviews of other bath bombs doing the same to other people but had never experienced it myself.

Yeah, I would say Jersey Mike’s & Subway are similar except that Jersey Mike’s has their own meats & cheeses that they cut up right in front of you when you order it. We liked it a LOT better!

It makes no sense when places open their doors, there’s no such thing as “cool air” or “wind” around here lol.

That HoneyMee Affogato was seriously a thing of dreams. The honey on top was so fresh. I always buy the raw honey from the store but this was still like nothing I’ve ever had before. Sooo yummy!

I loved the Charlie & the Chocolate Factory movies & the book, and now the musical, too. πŸ˜€ It did suck that the volume was so loud though. I wanted to hear the voices & lyrics!!
