Hiiii guys!!! I haven’t posted for over a week now and it feels so weird but nice to be back here writing. I want to recap all of the days I missed but, I already know this entry is going to be pretty photo heavy and much lighter on the words. 😛
First, I want to start by showing you all why I love the blogosphere and the connections I’ve made on here more than anything. My beautiful friend Rossy at AyR Galaxy sent me the cutest little gift box for my birthday!!!
Everything about it was adorable and absolutely perfect for me, starting with the outer box and card. 🙂
She picked out awesome beauty products, Mexican candies (that I ate all in one night), and the CUTEST SUSHI CAT keychain. ❤
Also, last week, I told you my other amazing blogging friend, Mackenzie, had sent me something as well but, I forgot to show you what!!
I jokingly commented on one of her posts when she received Cinnamon Yogurt Covered Pretzels in her mailbox that I wish I could find the same surprise in mine and what do ya know? She literally made my wish come true. ❤ I couldn’t believe it!!!
Blogging has truly shown me what real friends are, even if they are long distance– Rossy and Mackenzie (and SO many of you, too) have consistently been there for me, with supportive words and constant reassurance that someone cares. It means so so so much to me. You guys will never know just how much!!
But, other than crying over how sweet my friends are… let’s talk about what the heck I’ve been up to (SPOILER ALERT: other than eating and playing Sims 4, not much).
I last wrote on Wednesday, June 5th so, let’s start on Thursday, June 6th.
We went to one of my favorite spots called, SkinnyFats. We hadn’t been in awhile because boyfriend hates the atmosphere and the stuffiness inside the one we used to go to.
We found one that was a little further in miles but, closer in minutes. It was bigger inside and boyfriend didn’t complain about it.
Ketchup is probably our least liked condiment but, here, they had quite a few different kinds so we had to try at least two of ’em. The names and artwork were fun and unique but, the stories on the side were the best part.
I preferred the Unipeppercorn while boyfriend went for the Jalatcha.
To share, we ordered the Pimp Shrimp. They were deep-fried pieces of juicy, plump meat atop a hollowed out cucumber, stuffed with a coleslaw mix, pico, and chunks of avocado. The sauce on the bottom was a cilantro-avocado creme. We ate the whole boat but, left the creme and chunks of avocado…
Boyfriend had the Filet O Fire!!! It had nice cuts of filet mignon, fried jalapeno, avo-pico, and jalapeno ranch between Cajun sourdough bread. I’m not usually a sourdough gal but, this was really delish!!! The sweet potato fries weren’t bad either. They looked soggy but somehow had that crisp to them.
My TeriyAhi sandwich was even better. It came with seared teriyaki ahi, a slaw mix, and tomatoes stuffed between sesame crusted 9 grain bread. 😀 It was seriously sooo fresh and tasty. The slaw mix was sour but, not overwhelming and the teriyaki’s sweetness paired so well with it. The tuna was to die for, perfectly sliced and oh so yummy. My hummus on the side was fantastic, too. ❤
We got coffee and drinks before I went into work. I was super drunk and remember breaking my shoe before I went on stage. Luckily, my stage partner gave me her extra pair that were already buckled. I had a strappy backup that I was not going to be able to figure out in my drunken state so I was very grateful. When boyfriend picked me up, we went out to eat at our favorite burger joint, Barcode Burger.
He got the Hangover Burger topped with an egg, onion strings, pickles, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. It’s a thing of a beauty, ain’t it??? Their fries are hand-cut and made in-house, along with their ketchup that tastes like fresh tomatoes mixed with sriracha, and their huge perfectly pickled pickles… SOOOO freakin’ yummy!!!
I always just get the plain burger with onion strings, pickles, and lettuce. The patty has all the flavor in the world and it’s heavy as heck. I always joke about how it’s a workout to take a bite, LOL.
On Friday, June 7th, we had to go get me some new heels. I went to the same place as always, Red Shoes, and got the same exact pair as always– the 8-inch, clear, double-strap.
We went to Chuchote, the Thai restaurant next door because it was pretty late in the day, we didn’t want to drive elsewhere, and we had never been before.
They gave us waters in these little tins, which were adorable but, made our water taste funny after sitting in them for awhile. Luckily, I had my water bottle in the car.
The Spring Rolls we ordered to share cost more than anywhere we’ve been before and then $2 more to add shrimp! We still added it but the pieces they gave us were tiny slivers so we couldn’t even see or taste them. There were NO noodles inside… instead, there was just a BUNCH of freakin’ bean sprouts, tofu, and lettuce. I HATED these and will never return to Chuchote because of them.
I tried something different and went for the Sukiyaki. It was made with silver noodles and served with sweet and sour sauce on the side. I liked the flavor but found no use for the sauce. Mostly, I was upset because I was only given 3 pieces of shrimp.
Boyfriend went for his usual, Pad Woon Sen dish with the highest spicy level. It definitely had a kick but without the peppers, the flavor would have been a miss. There was nothing really Pad Woon Sen about it.
We had coffee and drinks before I went to work and the night was more blurry than Thursday night, even though it was more recent.
I needed another Barcode Burger when I got off so we went back.
I got the same thing so, I don’t even know why I took a photo but, here it is on Day Two, LOL.
Boyfriend got the fried chicken sandwich and to no surprise, it was SPECTACULAR.
I also ordered a grilled chicken to-go and reheated it the next day on Saturday, June 8th. Boyfriend worked in the evening and got home around 9 PM. We went for drinks before he dropped me off and everything about the night has slipped my mind exceeeeept, our breakfast at Blueberry Hill when he picked me up.
I got the Monte Cristo sandwich. I left the cheese on because I didn’t have to go back to work the next day. 😀 I had never tried one before but, was always curious. The french toast wasn’t too sweet or overpowering like I worried it would be and I definitely enjoyed all that meat they stuffed in it. You can see in the background boyfriend got his usual meatloaf breakfast which was served kind of cold this time. He packed most of it to-go and heated it up the next day.
On Sunday, I was sick and tired of restaurant food and needed my man to make us a homecooked meal so first thing we did was go to Sprouts for groceries. I spent all day playing Sims 4, even while I ate. I have gotten into the world of CC and mods which I won’t get into here unless you’re a Simmer, too… let’s chat about it!!
Monday was more of the same. We just stayed at home and played games all day. 😀 Same with Tuesday and Wednesday, too.
Yesterday, boyfriend was called off work yet again but at least this time, they told him before he walked in. We went to Karved for dinner and got espressos from Starbucks.
OF COURSE, my period came right when I was about to start doing my makeup for work so I had to abort mission. I was still in the mood to play with my face though so I spent some time with the HUDA Mauve Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette I got awhile back in an Ipsy Plus. I’m probably only going to try one more look with it and I already got both my Boxycharm and Plus this month (my minis bag has been delayed somewhere in Cali). I can’t wait to share and talk about it all with you!!!
Today, we went to the DMV to turn in our old license plates, Sprouts for more groceries and the dispensary for more weed. I started writing this pretty much right when I walked through the door. Boyfriend is cooking dinner, it’s smelling yummy, and I think it’s almost done. I better end this so I can publish before it is!!
Ope. Dinner was just placed in front of me. Ahhh, will eat and publish after.
