Hiiii guys!!! I haven’t posted for over a week now and it feels so weird but nice to be back here writing. I want to recap all of the days I missed but, I already know this entry is going to be pretty photo heavy and much lighter on the words. πŸ˜›

First, I want to start by showing you all why I love the blogosphere and the connections I’ve made on here more than anything. My beautiful friend Rossy at AyR Galaxy sent me the cutest little gift box for my birthday!!!

Everything about it was adorable and absolutely perfect for me, starting with the outer box and card. πŸ™‚

She picked out awesome beauty products, Mexican candies (that I ate all in one night), and the CUTEST SUSHI CAT keychain. ❀

Also, last week, I told you my other amazing blogging friend, Mackenzie, had sent me something as well but, I forgot to show you what!!

I jokingly commented on one of her posts when she received Cinnamon Yogurt Covered Pretzels in her mailbox that I wish I could find the same surprise in mine and what do ya know? She literally made my wish come true. ❀ I couldn’t believe it!!!

Blogging has truly shown me what real friends are, even if they are long distance– Rossy and Mackenzie (and SO many of you, too) have consistently been there for me, with supportive words and constant reassurance that someone cares. It means so so so much to me. You guys will never know just how much!!

But, other than crying over how sweet my friends are… let’s talk about what the heck I’ve been up to (SPOILER ALERT: other than eating and playing Sims 4, not much).

I last wrote on Wednesday, June 5th so, let’s start on Thursday, June 6th.

We went to one of my favorite spots called, SkinnyFats. We hadn’t been in awhile because boyfriend hates the atmosphere and the stuffiness inside the one we used to go to.

We found one that was a little further in miles but, closer in minutes. It was bigger inside and boyfriend didn’t complain about it.

Ketchup is probably our least liked condiment but, here, they had quite a few different kinds so we had to try at least two of ’em. The names and artwork were fun and unique but, the stories on the side were the best part.

I preferred the Unipeppercorn while boyfriend went for the Jalatcha.

To share, we ordered the Pimp Shrimp. They were deep-fried pieces of juicy, plump meat atop a hollowed out cucumber, stuffed with a coleslaw mix, pico, and chunks of avocado. The sauce on the bottom was a cilantro-avocado creme. We ate the whole boat but, left the creme and chunks of avocado…

Boyfriend had the Filet O Fire!!! It had nice cuts of filet mignon, fried jalapeno, avo-pico, and jalapeno ranch between Cajun sourdough bread. I’m not usually a sourdough gal but, this was really delish!!! The sweet potato fries weren’t bad either. They looked soggy but somehow had that crisp to them.

My TeriyAhi sandwich was even better. It came with seared teriyaki ahi, a slaw mix, and tomatoes stuffed between sesame crusted 9 grain bread. πŸ˜€ It was seriously sooo fresh and tasty. The slaw mix was sour but, not overwhelming and the teriyaki’s sweetness paired so well with it. The tuna was to die for, perfectly sliced and oh so yummy. My hummus on the side was fantastic, too. ❀

We got coffee and drinks before I went into work. I was super drunk and remember breaking my shoe before I went on stage. Luckily, my stage partner gave me her extra pair that were already buckled. I had a strappy backup that I was not going to be able to figure out in my drunken state so I was very grateful. When boyfriend picked me up, we went out to eat at our favorite burger joint, Barcode Burger.

He got the Hangover Burger topped with an egg, onion strings, pickles, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. It’s a thing of a beauty, ain’t it??? Their fries are hand-cut and made in-house, along with their ketchup that tastes like fresh tomatoes mixed with sriracha, and their huge perfectly pickled pickles… SOOOO freakin’ yummy!!!

I always just get the plain burger with onion strings, pickles, and lettuce. The patty has all the flavor in the world and it’s heavy as heck. I always joke about how it’s a workout to take a bite, LOL.

On Friday, June 7th, we had to go get me some new heels. I went to the same place as always, Red Shoes, and got the same exact pair as always– the 8-inch, clear, double-strap.

We went to Chuchote, the Thai restaurant next door because it was pretty late in the day, we didn’t want to drive elsewhere, and we had never been before.

They gave us waters in these little tins, which were adorable but, made our water taste funny after sitting in them for awhile. Luckily, I had my water bottle in the car.

The Spring Rolls we ordered to share cost more than anywhere we’ve been before and then $2 more to add shrimp! We still added it but the pieces they gave us were tiny slivers so we couldn’t even see or taste them. There were NO noodles inside… instead, there was just a BUNCH of freakin’ bean sprouts, tofu, and lettuce. I HATED these and will never return to Chuchote because of them.

I tried something different and went for the Sukiyaki. It was made with silver noodles and served with sweet and sour sauce on the side. I liked the flavor but found no use for the sauce. Mostly, I was upset because I was only given 3 pieces of shrimp.

Boyfriend went for his usual, Pad Woon Sen dish with the highest spicy level. It definitely had a kick but without the peppers, the flavor would have been a miss. There was nothing really Pad Woon Sen about it.

We had coffee and drinks before I went to work and the night was more blurry than Thursday night, even though it was more recent.

I needed another Barcode Burger when I got off so we went back.

I got the same thing so, I don’t even know why I took a photo but, here it is on Day Two, LOL.

Boyfriend got the fried chicken sandwich and to no surprise, it was SPECTACULAR.

I also ordered a grilled chicken to-go and reheated it the next day on Saturday, June 8th. Boyfriend worked in the evening and got home around 9 PM. We went for drinks before he dropped me off and everything about the night has slipped my mind exceeeeept, our breakfast at Blueberry Hill when he picked me up.

I got the Monte Cristo sandwich. I left the cheese on because I didn’t have to go back to work the next day. πŸ˜€ I had never tried one before but, was always curious. The french toast wasn’t too sweet or overpowering like I worried it would be and I definitely enjoyed all that meat they stuffed in it. You can see in the background boyfriend got his usual meatloaf breakfast which was served kind of cold this time. He packed most of it to-go and heated it up the next day.

On Sunday, I was sick and tired of restaurant food and needed my man to make us a homecooked meal so first thing we did was go to Sprouts for groceries. I spent all day playing Sims 4, even while I ate. I have gotten into the world of CC and mods which I won’t get into here unless you’re a Simmer, too… let’s chat about it!!

Monday was more of the same. We just stayed at home and played games all day. πŸ˜€ Same with Tuesday and Wednesday, too.

Yesterday, boyfriend was called off work yet again but at least this time, they told him before he walked in. We went to Karved for dinner and got espressos from Starbucks.

I always get the French Dip.
He always get the Beef Tri-Tip.

OF COURSE, my period came right when I was about to start doing my makeup for work so I had to abort mission. I was still in the mood to play with my face though so I spent some time with the HUDA Mauve Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette I got awhile back in an Ipsy Plus. I’m probably only going to try one more look with it and I already got both my Boxycharm and Plus this month (my minis bag has been delayed somewhere in Cali). I can’t wait to share and talk about it all with you!!!

Today, we went to the DMV to turn in our old license plates, Sprouts for more groceries and the dispensary for more weed. I started writing this pretty much right when I walked through the door. Boyfriend is cooking dinner, it’s smelling yummy, and I think it’s almost done. I better end this so I can publish before it is!!

Ope. Dinner was just placed in front of me. Ahhh, will eat and publish after.

  1. How sweet to receive the kind gifts from friends across the States! I’m so shocked and disappointed for you over those spring rolls! I absolutely loooove bean sprouts and all, but the noodles are my favorite and best thing I look forward!

I’ve missed seeing your posts this past week, but you’ve probably had a busy, but wonderful week! I hope you enjoyed your dinner, cannot wait to see what it was. Having a lovely night and wonderful birthday soon!

    1. It truly was so sweet to receive the gifts. β™‘ I wasn’t expecting them at all! & oh my gosh, right? We were both extremely shocked about the lack of noodles… I like bean sprouts, too, but come on… that’s not how you make a spring roll lol.

I’m so happy to hear you missed me!! β™‘ I missed everyone here, too!! We’re not going out for my bday until next week but I can’t wait to share all about it. πŸ™‚ Thank you so much, Stephanie!!

      1. If they were so bad, hopefully those will be the worst that you try! Looking forward to hearing about your celebration! I think I’ll be celebrating mine with some friends next weekend as well. Have an awesome day today & happy birthday once again! πŸ™‚

        1. They were the worst we ever had so far & I truly hope we never come across any that are even worse lol. I hope you have an awesome celebration, too! Thank you so much, Stephanie! ❀

  2. Yayyyyyyy so glad you’re back!!!!! Missed your awesome posts.

I love that birthday box and card! The colors! The stripes! The shiny-ness! I love the sushi cat!!!

That is so cool that Mackenzie sent you the infamous cinnamon yogurt pretzels. I remember when she blogged about them and I instantly Googled and bookmarked the source. Just the words “cinnamon yogurt” make me drool.

This made me laugh: (SPOILER ALERT: other than eating and playing Sims 4, not much).

Love the ketchup bottles with stories on them!

Yes, that Hangover Burger is indeed a thing of beauty!

    Cute picture of boyfriend.

Cute tins of water, but yah, I only like water that is in a GLASS glass. No plastic, no metal, no tin. I could never have made it in the Pioneer days when they drank everything out of tin mugs. Blech!

WHAT the heck kind of scam is Chuchote trying to pull with those spring rolls?????

How does Barcode make their buns so shiny. I love shiny burger buns. Could be the light, actually. I just took two Advil liqui-gels and as the fog of my headache lifts, everything looks brighter, somehow.

    That beef tri tip sandwich!!!

Great blog post as usual. Glad to have you back. πŸ™‚

    1. Hehe, I missed you too, Jinjer! So happy to be back. πŸ˜€ My PMS was making me a whole different person but I feel so much better now.

Isn’t the birthday box the cutest?! & the sushi cat melted my heart!!! ❀ I hope you like the cinnamon pretzels if you try them!!

LOL I am happy I could make you laugh with my spoiler alert. πŸ˜‰ The ketchup bottle stories were adorable, right?! & boyfriend says, 'thank you!' πŸ˜‰

Water really only tastes good in glass!! The tins made it so nasty. I don't think I could have been a pioneer either!

I TOTALLY felt scammed by Chuchote's spring rolls, too… we almost returned them but, just hate doing that. πŸ˜›

I think they either brush butter or oil on their buns at Barcode & the gaming screens are probably making them look extra shiny, too LOL. I know what you mean about when your headache lifts. It's a good feeling.

Those sandwiches at Karved are to die for! Wish you could try one!

Thank you so much for reading & commenting!! You're the best!! ❀

  3. I’ve been wondering where the hell you went for a week lmao jk 🀣
We’ve already talked about this but I’m glad you liked everything i picked out! πŸ’œ
How great that Mackenzie sent you something as well! She’s amazing! 😁 getting those pretzels as a surprise would be freaking awesome!
Omg I LOVE ketchup girl you have no freaking idea lol. Even Alex is like “you like it THAT much?!” 🀣
That cucumber boat looks fucking good!!! And I’ve made an avocado crema that I looooooooveeeee so you have just given me an idea of something to make at home! Yassssss!!!
Oh my gosh all this food looks good, i personally love sourdough bread. But ever since Mackenzie introduced me to brioche I think I like that one better. But for sandwiches, sourdough is where it’s at πŸ˜‚
Lol that hangover burger came at a perfect time then huh?
Hey curious, how big are your heels?
Those look like a sorry excuse for spring rolls. They dont look as appetizing as others you’ve had in the past. You basically got ripped off with those for sure.
In fact it seems the whole meal was kind of a rip off. Barely any shrimp on your sukiyaki? What are they rationing? Lol
I vote for no comeback πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈπŸ€£
Well sounds like you had a fairly nice week. I’m sorry I didn’t get to tell you happy birthday yesterday but I hope you had an amazing day!!! Love ya!

    1. I have been so bad with my blog lately! I need to get myself back on a schedule or something lol.

I truly did love everything you picked out. The toner felt so nice on my skin! I just haven’t tried the mask yet. Both you & Mackenzie are amazing! Thank you again!! ❀

I have met some people like you who absolutely love ketchup. Sometimes I hate it, sometimes I like it. I wonder if you woulda liked all the different kinds at SkinnyFats! The shrimp boat was totally awesome & I'm happy it reminded you of the avocado crema you make. πŸ™‚

I loooove brioche bread but, it has so much dairy in it. Sourdough bread is just… too sour for me sometimes LOL.

Boyfriend never gets hangovers, I have no idea how! But we did joke about the burger making sure of it. πŸ˜‰

My heels are 8inches tall & I wear size 6!

I KNOW!! I swear they ran out of noodles or something & just still wanted our money. SO gross!! & yeah, seriously… NO shrimp in my noodles. 😦 Never going back!!

That's so okay that you weren't able to wish me 'happy birthday' on the exact day! I already know you remembered. ❀ Love YOU!!!!!

      1. That’s alright. maybe this time you really needed a good break from the blog. πŸ˜‰
Well let me know once you have tried the mask 😁 and you’re very much welcome!!
I would love to make a cucumber boat with that avocado cream with some other stuff. Just gotten figure out what exactly. Lol.
If you ever have brioche again you have to try it as French toast its delicious!!
Oh snap! I dont know how tall my heels are I should check, 8″ sounds like a lot haha
        Awww love ya too!!

        Liked by 1 person

        1. I think I did need the break. πŸ™‚ & I will def let you know about the mask!

I hope your cucumber boat turns out amazing when you make it! & I have had bricohe french toast a few times before. πŸ™‚ It’s fantastic, isn’t it?! ❀

8 inches is pretty tall but the shortest dancer heels are 5 inches and the biggest… I think 10!

  7. SO excited for this post!!

Oh my gosh that little gift box is adorable from Rossy!!! And that cat chainβ€”she knows you well ❀ soo sweet and thoughtful!

Aww yay so glad the pretzels didn’t arrive all smushed- I was genuinely worried they would be all crumbs because I had no idea the quality of the place – but they were the closest flavored delivery ones I could find! And it goes both ways girl- I’m so thankful for you, your friendship, your support & encouragement always. & I LOVE reading your posts and comments.. I just love our convos tons. ❀

Ok I am cracking up at that Ketchup bottle anecdote- I like this place already! Everything from this meal looks oh so yummy- but that Teriyahi (very creative name), pita & hummus combo is jumping off the page to me!

That hangover burger would be one of those β€œmeat” based items that I’d have to just try a big bite of to experience it!! WOW.

I would be so mad about those spring rolls too- I don’t think I see any shrimp at all (or noodles!).

Now let’s talk about that Monte Cristo- looks tremendous! There is a famous one in SF that you’ve gotta try if you ever visit. It’s LIFE changing.

Ohhh hope you enjoyed that dinner- can’t wait to see what your boyfriend whipped up!

Hehe, I knew you'd enjoy the ketchup stories as much as I did. Boyfriend just chuckled but didn't appreciate them enough!! You would have loved the Teriyahi & hummus. πŸ™‚

I would be really curious on your thoughts on the Barcode Burgers. It means a lot when you like a meat dish!!

YEAH seriously, still mad about that spring roll scam. No noodles or shrimp… who does that?!?

Where is the Monte Cristo in SF?? I need to go try it!!
