Ipsy Glam Bag | April 2019

Hiii beauty babes!! I know I am SO late with this post but, I wanted to try out as many of the products as I could before writing it (and to be completely honest… the Sims 4 took over my life). Also, sorry for spamming your Readers with TWO posts today. I hope you don’t mind. πŸ™‚ I’m ready to talk about April’s Glam Bag now!!

The lemon design is everything– absolutely perfect for springtime. It’s just so delicate and pretty. I love the bright yellow on white and how the leaves are this light, girly green. The bag itself is sturdy and thick, too.

What Was In My Bag?!

Theme: Bloom

Firma Beauty
103 Angled Contour

Ipsy’s Description

Firma Beauty’s mission is to keep products out of landfills by using sustainable materials only–and we are here for it. This contour brush is angled to trace the curves of your face for streak-free application and the soft synthetic bristles hold powder without any spillage.

My First Impressions & Thoughts

I was blown away by the performance of this brush. It easily picked up product with one swipe across the surface, it transferred color to my face flawlessly, and the bristles were nicely packed together yet, still super soft. I loved how it felt on my cheeks– I use it for my highlighter every time now.

Cruelty-Free? I don’t think so

Delectable by Cake Beauty
Triple Citrus Blend Body Butter Cream

Ipsy’s Description

When it comes to body moisturizers that smell delish, this brand hits the sweet spot. This airy formula is infused with shea butter to nourish and repair dry skin, and antioxidant-packed grapefruit, tangerine, and orange extracts to invigorate your senses and leave your skin glowing.

My First Impressions & Thoughts

I haven’t even taken the safety seal off this sample but, I can already smell how strong the scent is. The thing is, I am a huge fan of citrus stuff but… this… is super perfumey and more flowery. I have a few other body lotions to work through and this is at the bottom of the list because I’m not that excited for it. I might just throw it in my giveaway box.

Law Beauty Essentials
Nail Polish in Purrrrplicious

Ipsy’s Description

Made by a business-turned-beauty entrepreneur, this line of cruelty-free and 5-free nail products is known for luxe, innovative, and eco-friendly products. Purrrrplicious is an opaque, orchid pink shade that’s fast-drying, long-lasting, and gives us instant springtime feels.

My First Impressions & Thoughts

What a pretty color, right?! I am always happy to receive a new nail polish/lacquer. πŸ™‚ The formula was a little runny and thin but, it dried SO fast. It was a little difficult to apply because when you ran the brush through a wet part, it would scrape away polish instead of adding more. I got the hang of it though and the brush was a nice, easy shape to work with.

Tarte
Double Beauty Base Tape Hydrating Primer

Ipsy’s Description

This brand new primer is loaded with jojoba and grapeseed extract to moisturize and keep your skin hydrated for 12 full hours and coconut to smooth your skin. Plus, it helps your makeup look better and last longer. And like all of Tarte’s fab formula’s, this one’s vegan and cruelty-free.

My First Impressions & Thoughts

Do NOT use another moisturizer if you use this. They are not kidding in their claims about 12 full hours of hydration. I usually apply my face moisturizer less than 12 hours before my makeup routine so, when I tried this, I was over hydrated. It did make application of everything way smoother and more pigmented. Everything blended in so well and easily. I even liked the fresh coconut scent (which I’m not usually a fan of) BUT, I did end up breaking out. I’ll have to give it another shot without moisturizing my face first.

Nomad Cosmetics
Eyeshadow in Champagne Reef

Ipsy’s Description

Nomad’s products draw from the beauty of far flung destinations. Inspired by the Champagne Reef in Dominican Republic, this finely pigmented, blendable, golden eyeshadow is made with hemp seed oil to nourish and hydrate the sensitive skin on your lids.

My First Impressions & Thoughts

What a fun color!! It’s a very sunny yellow-gold with some shimmer. I don’t know if I own anything in this shade so, I’m happy to have it now. The eyeshadow felt soft on my finger and swatched beautifully. I haven’t tried it on my lids yet though so I can’t really attest to any of their claims. I do like that it’s said to hydrate the skin on my lids though because mine are getting seriously dried out from the sun!

  1. I’ve never heard of Firma Beauty or Law Beauty Essentials but I’d definitely love to try out that brush and that polish. The brush looks like it would blend our contour (or bronzer) like an absolute dream & that nail polish color is like Spring vibes in a bottle. πŸ˜€

    1. It was a fun bag this month! πŸ˜€ I kind of like the angle brush, I was using a more flat fan one for my highlighter before & the primer was nice… my face just wasn’t prepared for it lol.

  2. I know people usually avert fragranced products but omg it smells like coconut AND IS HYDRATING!? yes please, hopefully it worked better without moisturizer? Did you try it again?

  3. Hmm, I’m interested in that hydrating primer from Tarte. My skin is always in desperate of moisture! What a fun eyeshadow color! Kinda reminds me of the yellowy-gold from the Juvia’s Place palette that I used during the capsule makeup series!

    1. That Tarte primer was super hydrating. Really, no other moisturizer would be needed in your skincare routine! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it if you try it. πŸ™‚ & the eyeshadow shade is super fun! I know exactly the Juvia’s one you’re talking about!

  4. This lemon bag is one of my favorite designs from Ipsy so far. I was excited when mine came in the mail and I saw how cute the bag was.

I got that purple nail polish too! I love it! I’m currently wearing it on my nails too. πŸ˜› One of my coworkers complimented how pretty the color was. Plus, it kinda goes with my hair since I dyed it purple. πŸ˜›

I also got the Tarte base tape. It works well, and I thought my makeup went on smoother than when I don’t use it.

Oh man, that gold eyeshadow is so pretty! I wish I had gotten that. lol

    1. Isn’t it so cute? I think it has to be one of the best designs so far, too. β™‘

I love that we’re both wearing the nail polish right now!! I also got a lot of compliments from my co-workers on it. πŸ˜„ I NEED to see your purple hair!!

I agree about the primer helping makeup go on a lot smoother! I just wasn’t prepared for so much hydration & put a thick moisturizer right before it. 😭

The gold eyeshadow is sooo pretty. I usually get more brownish gold but this is almost yellow. β™‘

  5. This post didn’t show up in my reader, either! Weird. Anyway, that brush is EVERYTHING. Oh my gosh, I don’t think I’ve seen such a pretty one. I love how it has a matte finish, kinda chalky. So cute. Love to hear that it performs really well also!!

And that nail polish, oh my gosh. Such a gorgeous color and I love that it’s bold, not transparent or too thin at all.

    1. Aw, that’s so lame that this one didn’t show up, either! 😦 Maybe because I posted two in a row & WP thought I was spam LOL. It wouldn’t be the first time…

That brush really is amazing! I’ve been using it nonstop. πŸ™‚ I am worried it is made out of goat hair though… that’s prob why it’s so good… & that nail polish was awesome. Can you believe that was only one layer, too?!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I wonder if that’s what happened! I feel like WP shouldn’t censor that anyway though because I obviously follow you for a reason.
-_- Like, it should be my prerogative to tell them what I think is spam haha.
Ohhh no I hope it’s not made out of goat hair! That would suck. I never even knew certain brushes were still made from animal hair these days until Rossy told me awhile ago. It’s kind of gross to think about isn’t it? lol. Maybe just don’t think about it since it works so well hahaha.
I cannot believe that was only one layer of polish! That’s amazing!

        1. LOL TOO TRUE!

YEAH, I went on their website & they were like only one line of ours uses goat hair & I was like WHAAAAT, one whole line of brushes is enough to make me back out. & even false lashes are made out of animal hair still! Super gross & rude. πŸ˜›

  6. I think I have a delectable hand cream and it’s nice. Its coconut I think but the scent isnt too strong. I love citrusy ones too but I wouldn’t be able to use it either if it reeks of perfume lol.
That nail polish shade looks so gorgeous! Wow. Sucks you had a hard time with it but you got the hang of it quick!
Omg that yellow shadow looks so stunning!!! I think I need something like that in my collection lol

    Liked by 1 person

    1. It doesn’t smell at all like citrus through the safety seal!! Maybe it would be better if I actually tried it. Was the hand cream nice & hydrating?

LOL I am glad I finally got the hang of the polish, it was very frustrating at first. πŸ˜› I loved that the eyeshadow was more yellow than brown/copper like I usually get! I wonder how it will look on my lids!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Yes, it was hydrating i’m actually getting a bit sad that I’m running out 😦 lol it’s so good and I don’t need a lot of it either.. Im not a huge fan of the coconut scent in lotions but this one was tolerable and not annoying or too strong. Subtle is the name of the game for me lol.

  7. That lemon pouch is really everything!!! It’s so cute I stared at it for far too long. Hahahaha! I’ve always wanted to try ipsy but the international shipping holds me back 😦

    Liked by 1 person

    1. The lemon pouch is seriously adorable, right?! πŸ˜€ I don’t think it’s possible to stare at it TOO long. I didn’t even know Ipsy did international shipping! I bet the fee is outrageous though. 😦
