NoMakeNoLife | April 2019

Hi all! Today, I’m going to show you what I got in my April 2019 NoMakeNoLife Box. It arrived before all of my other subscriptions this month so, I am guessing, if you keep a recurring subscription– they make sure your future boxes arrive earlier than your very first one.

What Was In My Box?!

Theme: Spa Night

Morning Surprise
Hand Cream in Monroe Peach

NMNL’s Key Point

Shea butter, olive oil, snail extract, this hand cream has it all!

My First Impressions & Thoughts

I’m still trying to use up the little cake hand cream they sent me last month but, I’m super excited to try this one when it’s done. The packaging is cute and I usually love peach-scented products so, if the formula’s good, this is a winner.

Country: Korea

Lucky Wink
Foot Scrub Sponge

NMNL’s Description

This exfoliating sponge softens and pampers tired feet and makes dry cracked heels soft again! Unlike pumice stones, this exfoliating sponge isn’t rough and causes no harm to the skin at all.

My First Impressions & Thoughts

I tried this on the heel of my foot, dry. My skin felt nice and smooth right after, but none of my cracks disappeared or anything spectacular like that. The roughness came back shortly, too.

Country: Japan

Konnyaku
Face Sponge

NMNL’s Description

Exfoliate and massage your skin at the same time with this all-natural face sponge! This sponge is 100% made of konnyaku (asian potato) and has fine fibers that are gentle for the skin. It effectively removes dead skin cells and dirt from pores and leaving your skin super smooth.

My First Impressions & Thoughts

I am SO intrigued by this! My face is on a small skincare break (minus FAB moisturizer and cleanser once a day each) but, when it’s ready to try new things again– this is the first one I’m reaching for. The sponge is infused with some sort of liquid but, it advises us to rinse it before use? I thought we’d want to keep all that good stuff in but, I will follow the directions. I’m just worried the sponge will be scratchy!

Country: Japan

Ariul
Stress Relieving Purefull Cleansing Wipes

NMNL’s Description & Key Point

Make sure to remove your makeup at the end of the day with these relaxing citrus-scented wipes by Korean brand Ariul. They effortlessly remove waterproof makeup, cleanse, and moisturize your skin! Safe for all skin types: Doesn’t use surfactants, artificial colors or scents!

My First Impressions & Thoughts

I never use makeup remover wipes because they don’t make me feel 100% clean but, these sound so nice. I still plan to use them after I wash my makeup off with water and a cleanser though. Hopefully the citrus scent won’t make me break out.

Country: Korea

The Saem
Water Candy Lip Tint in Soft Persimmon

NMNL’s Key Point

Fruity lip tints that moisturize your lips with honey extract & hyaluronic acid!

My First Impressions & Thoughts

This candy shaped lip tint is the cutest thing, EVER. It’s also a decent size so I’m assuming it isn’t just a sample, either (score!). Unfortunately, compared to the one they sent me last month— this formula is a bust. It was extremely wet and took way too long to dry down. It felt and looked like I colored my lips with a washable Crayola marker. Not a fan.

Country: Korea

Berrisom
Peking Opera Sheet Mask in King Mask (Pearl + Arbutin)

NMNL’s Description & Key Point

The King Mask focuses on brightening, treating blemishes & hydration.

My First Impressions & Thoughts

I was happy to receive another mask but, bored by the fact that it was by the same brand as last month. I also read in the pamphlet that I could’ve received the Queen Mask which sounds better for me than this King one. *sigh*

Country: Korea

Popu
House-Shaped Makeup Sponges (6 pc)

NMNL’s Description

These sponges are super popular in Japan so we just HAD to include them in your box! The house shape makes them versatile, easy to use and on top of that they don’t absorb a lot of product!

My First Impressions & Thoughts

Hmm… okaaaaay. It does blend my concealer in nicely BUT, it takes way longer to do so than any other sponge I’ve used before BECAUSE it doesn’t absorb a lot of product. I don’t even know if I prefer that because it felt like I was just spreading my makeup around, getting nowhere. I can see how it would definitely be better in the long run to use less product with these sponges though. I wonder if I can wash them?

Country: Japan

To-Plan
Shea Butter Body Lotion

NMNL’s Key Point

Moisturizing body lotion that contains the BEST skin care ingredients: Shea butter, olive oil, collagen & hyaluronic acid.

My First Impressions & Thoughts

I am breaking out all over in eczema patches from the Orange Creamsicle body butter I got in a past Ipsy PLUS and I am now testing out the new one they sent me this month. Looking at it now, I’m thinking I should’ve tried this first because I already know Shea butter is a savior and this sample is so small, it would’ve been gone in a week or less.

Country: Japan

I have canceled this subscription for now so, this is the last one I will be showing you. I had so much fun receiving NoMakeNoLife for the past two months! Their website and rewards/streaks almost tempted me to stay (they’re so good!) but, there are just too many other sub boxes out there that I want to try. Boxycharm and Ipsy PLUS have wowed me and will keep me as a subscriber but this one is being switched out for a new one– I do think it will be awhile until that happens though. I’m a bit bogged down with a bunch of new unused products at the moment!

If YOU want to try this box, it’s $35 a month and they have free WORLDWIDE shipping. You can still use my referral link to sign up and get $5 off, here.

  1. Ooh peachy scents, yum!!!
Why have you taken a skincare break!? Also I feel the same about face wipes! I never feel clean after them and I feel they leave a greasy residue. Although I do use them after a night out when Iโ€™m too lazy to do proper skincare haha!
This seems like a really cute subscription box but Iโ€™m not sure Iโ€™d use the products so much, I think Iโ€™d lean more towards Boxycharm or Ipsy if I was to do one. They do sound like so much fun!

    1. Yesss, peachy scents are so yum!! โ™ก My skin seems to be breaking out at the sign of anything new being used so I am trying to give it a break so it can neutralize/go back to normal again. ๐Ÿ˜›

Makeup wipes are perfect for those lazy nights when you just don’t care if you are all the way clean or not, right?! LOL. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Boxycharm & Ipsy Plus are the best bang for your buck out of every single subscription out there, in my opinion. Do neither of ’em ship to the UK?!

      1. They are! Oh thatโ€™s fair enough, sometimes our skin just needs a break really. When I think about it, back in the olden days did skincare even exist? Certainly not fancy skincare anyway and Iโ€™m sure everyone was fine sooo itโ€™s definitely good to give our skin a break sometimes!

Haha so true! Theyโ€™re gross but convenient!

I honestly donโ€™t know Iโ€™ll have to check it out. I know we have Birchbox but thatโ€™s it ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. The Marilyn Monroe character on the hand cream is cute and the shea body lotion sounds nice! The candy shaped lip product is also cute, sorry the formula didn’t work out for you but the colour is nice ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Wait why do I feel like this is the first time I’m seeing this subscription on your blog? Did I miss them or did I just forget that I saw those posts?! Lmao
Anyway lots of interesting products in here I haven’t heard of any. That candy shaped lippie looks cute but too bad the formula was no good.
    And those sponges too.

    1. I got this box for the first time last month, I think you may have missed it somehow?! ๐Ÿ˜ญ WordPress always bumps posts off the Reader!

The products were fun but, I just feel like they could give us better/bigger items for the cost. I’ll keep that lippie around just for the cute packaging & I’m actually liking those sponges more & more with each use. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. awh man I’ll have to go back and see what else I missed..
that’s good, with more use you tend to get the hang of products, usually though not always LOL.. I’m still trying a few that I’m not sure I like much haha

  4. I love the contents in your NoMakeNoLife box! For a while, I was skeptical about snail extract but they’re pretty good for your skin. Glad the foot scrub did some magic. The candy lip tint looks pretty cool with the packaging. Too bad it didn’t work out well. Glad you enjoyed the box overall!

    1. It was a fun box! I have heard a lot of people are scared of the snail extract/secretion lol. I’m not so I can’t wait to try it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for stopping by, Nancy! โ™ก

  5. I would love to get this, it really does sound like fun! I have rosacea and can’t use very many products. I am impressed that you would finish one product before starting a new one. I doubt I would wait because I would be so excited to try the new ones!

    1. It was a really fun box!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I love that the products are sent straight from Japan. I do try to finish one product before I start another one but it’s SO tempting not to, LOL.

  6. What a crazy exciting mixed box! I actually think the lip stain is a gorgeous colour but shame itโ€™s not more of a pinky colour for that innocent, cute sort of look. Hmm I got some makeup sponges from a pharmacy that were similar, no wasted product just swipe lines in my foundation! Iโ€™m glad you got some things you liked but better box next time, maybe!

    1. It was a fun box! You know, I thought the orange color was cool but, it was a little too see-through… if that makes sense? I’ve continued using the sponges & I think I like ’em more & more every time!

  7. I can see why you’d cancel the subscription. The idea is cool, but the products, eh. Not so amazing. Fun for two months, but not to keep up with. I like that you gave it a shot, though!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. It was a super fun box!! I loved that the products were from Japan & Korea. ๐Ÿ˜„ I’m excited to try that sponge lol. I’ll def be following the instructions even if they are a bit suspicious!
