Journal Entry #235

Hi guys! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!

When I published my last Journal Entry, I went off to paint my nails. I redid them but, I used the same shade. My holographic Color Club polish in Bewitched.

Boyfriend and I went to the bar before he dropped me off. I had one drink and got into work a little past midnight. It started off slow but, quickly picked up then, died down again. I left at around 4:30 AM.

On Saturday, I woke up at almost 4 PM. Boyfriend went to work and I ate my leftover Chipotle for dinner. I watched an episode of Star, played with my cats, and wrote my Recipe Reviews before he got home with my espresso shots. I did my hair and makeup then, we went to the bar for some drinks again. We also ordered a Club Sandwich on wheat bread to share. IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. Especially the bacon.

I had two Patrons mixed with pineapple juice before we left. I got to work around midnight thirty. It was pretty slow for me or maybe I was just too drunk. πŸ˜› I called boyfriend to pick me up around 3 AM.

I showered when I got home then, we smoked a blunt in bed and hung out until the sun came up before going to sleep… πŸ˜€

Today, we both woke up around 2 PM. After I took a quick shower, I found three recipes for the week, smoked a blunt, and wrote the shopping list. We went to Sprouts, as usual, to get our groceries.

It was getting pretty late already so we dropped our food off at home and went out to eat at Pho So 1. My dad and his wife ate here twice during their visit last weekend… they told us it was good so we were excited to try it. We haven’t been able to find any good pho around here!

To share, we got Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls.

Their sauce was yummy and everything tasted fresh but, they weren’t wrapped very tightly. I hate when all the goodies fall out. 😦

We also got chicken wings that were def overpriced– look how tiny they are! The glaze was a sweet and sour fish sauce that had a very pungent smell but, tasted quite nice.

I got the beef broth pho with rare steak, flank steak, and tripe. Boyfriend also got the beef broth but his meats were rare steak, flank steak, and brisket. We both were repulsed by our bowls. The broth had no flavor, the meats were SO bland, and the noodles were too soggy. I have NO idea what my dad was tasting… I texted him saying, “this place should be called Pho So Nasty!” and he said, “maybe it was a different cook for me” but, I don’t believe him. I’m never going back!!! Even their Iced Vietnamese Coffee I ordered at the end was disgusting. They added so much sweetened condensed milk, it wasn’t even liquid anymore– it had turned into taffy!

On the plus side, the restaurant was located right by Chinatown so we easily drove down to one of our favorite spots, Gelato Bar. I chose the Coffee flavor for my cone. It was perfectly strong and oh, so delish.

Boyfriend got Toasted Almond and took a photo of it for me. πŸ™‚ We sat down and chatted at one of the tables while we licked on our creamy cones.

On our way home, we had to stop at the dispensary, the smoke shop, and Smith’s because Sprouts didn’t have big salmon fillets and we forgot to buy toilet paper. I also bought another jar of those spicy pepperoncinis.

When we got home, we smoked a blunt and brewed a pot of coffee. When the blunt was finished, I hopped onto here.

I don’t know what I’m going to do for the rest of the night but, I’m feeling like playing with makeup, reading blogs, and pinning stuff on Pinterest. I made a new board on there for my blog posts so, if you want to follow it, you can: here. I’ll be creating a pin every time I publish something on my blog from now on. πŸ™‚

Have a good night and a lovely week! ❀

    1. Ah, I love pho, too but I can’t find anywhere that makes it good here in Vegas. πŸ˜› So happy you like the cat picture, hehe. ❀ Hope you have a nice week, too, Xandra! Thank you!

  1. Wow – that restaurant sounds positively awful. I hope you’re able to find a good place soon. We have a lot of options here in Toronto but only a few are worth going to. Your spring roll picture reminded me I need to go back to one of the better ones. Not only do they have good pho, they’ve got banh xeo (savoury pancakes) and pork rolls (deep fried spring rolls with pork skin used instead of rice paper wrappers). So yummy!

    1. The restaurant was awful!! I think I am going to just completely give up on eating pho in Vegas. I love Banh Xeo– my parents make it all the time & we even call it by the same name. πŸ™‚ I love that you like it, too! I’ve never tried a pork roll before though… sounds delish!

  2. That club sammy looks LEGIT. MMmmm! Oh man, I hate when all the goodies fall out of the spring rolls too- But those do look yum yumm yummy! Sorry the rest of the meal was a total bust! But nothing gelato can’t solve πŸ˜‰

    1. That sandwich was SO GOOD. I couldn’t stop saying it after every bite LOL. It’s the worst to have a loose spring roll, but they’re still always yummy, huh? ❀ & yesss, gelato saved the day!!

  3. The club sandwich looks incredible! I love sandwiches so I’d totally get that.
Awwwhhh kittyyyyy!!!!!!!!! Which one is that one?
That’s terrible that the pho place was no good, it seems nothing stood out. But that ice cream looks tasty.
Have a great rest of your day or night, whenever you happen to read this. πŸ˜‰

That’s my baby girl, Twinkle Star. She lays on me right when I get on the bed EVERY time. I can’t even get comfy first sometimes lol.

I hated that restaurant! I am so done with trying pho in Vegas. πŸ˜› But yesss, the gelato was delish & made up for it!!

I hope you have a good rest of your night or day, too!! ❀ ❀

      1. Awh shes a cutie!!!! Her sweet face!
Hopefully whenever you guys come here you can try some good pho. Apparently the first place I tried is “the best in town” I haven’t tried any other so I can’t compare lol

    1. Hehe, she seriously jumps to snuggle me RIGHT when I lay down every single time. Sometimes I can’t even get the blankets over me first. Cats really are the silliest little things. ❀

  4. Ahaha loved this blog, hate it when that happens with the spring rolls! I love the idea with the photo at the start of the blog, would you mind if I used it as inspiration to start a blog of my own? I’d give fill credit of course, and I’d make a new picture, not use your one! If you do mind I completely understand πŸ’•

    1. Aw thank you for reading!! πŸ™‚ Are you talking about my Featured Image (where it says April 2019 Journal Entry)? Of course I wouldn’t mind if you started making them for your blog, too. I was also inspired by other bloggers to create mine! πŸ™‚

  5. Club sandwich looks delicious and that kitty is the cutest!
So sorry about the horrible restaurant experience. You would think with all the competition these restaurant owners would try harder to make tasty food.

    1. That club sandwich is to die for. I constantly crave it now lol. I can’t believe how bad some restaurants are, too, but they DO usually go out of business quickly so we’ll just waite and see. πŸ˜›

  6. Aw, well… at least the ice cream was good! πŸ™ˆ
We have a pho place near and it’s kinda yuck. Went there twice with colleagues but no improvement. Suff is either tasteless or super spicy πŸ˜…

      1. There is a Pho place here! I just haven’t been to it yet. I didn’t really wanna go by myself because of anxiety, but my mom doesn’t eat that kind of food and I don’t really have anyone else to go with.
