Hey lovies! Today is boyfriend’s birthday so I scheduled this unboxing for you. I can’t wait to tell you all about our day in my journal entry tomorrow. πŸ™‚ But for now, let’s get into this incredible box.

The postcard looked nearly the same as last month so I didn’t bother with a photo of it. I dived straight into the contents!

What Was In My Box?!

Butter me Orange Creamsicle Body Butter

Ipsy’s Description

If we’re being real, we spend so much time, energy, and money on our skincare routine–and that’s just from the neck up. The skin below needs some TLC, too. This body butter is fortified with coconut oil to soften and nourish skin. The orange and vanilla don’t just smell good–they rejuvenate dull skin while calming it with anti-inflammatory benefits. Plus, sweet stuff like sugar cane and fruit extracts deeply moisturize, promote elasticity in the skin, and give you a more youthful appearance.

My Thoughts & First Impressions

My current body butter is almost all gone so this came right on time. I can already smell the orangey vanilla scent through the seal!! It is so perfect for the season. I cannot wait to try it.

Retail Value: $24

I Am Adaptable Matte Liquid Lipstick

Ipsy’s Description

Sometimes, you just need a reminder that you’re stronger than you think. This lipstick boosts your look and your outlook. It goes on with tons of non-drying pigment (so you get a poppy red pout in a single swipe) and the tube features the quote, “I Am Adaptable.” It represents the ability that we all have to overcome and adapt to life’s many struggles–it means progress, perseverance, and finding the strength within yourself to carry on.

My Thoughts & First Impressions

Whoa, I cannot get this off my wrist, you guys. I don’t currently have any type of makeup remover. I have baby wipes and face cleanser but, neither is working. They are both just making the red go everywhere. On my lips, the color didn’t budge and didn’t make my lips feel overly dry. It wasn’t transferring at first, either. After I ate and drank some hot coffee, it seemed the lipstick became wet again and started smudging and getting everywhere. It came off patchy and got all over my face, hands, and cup. Since it’s nearly impossible to remove, this has left me a mess. If I was in public, I would be in straight panic mode.

Retail Value: $14

F.A.R.A.H. Brushes
5-Piece Eye Perfection Set

Ipsy’s Description

Call us high maintenance, but it’s not enough for our makeup brushes to help our favorite products go on flawlessly–they should also look pretty on our vanity when we’re not using them. This metallic brush set looks super luxe and the 100 percent vegan bristles make application a breeze.

My Thoughts & First Impressions

I couldn’t believe my eyes. A whole 5-Piece Eye Brush Set?!?! This was worth my whole subscription. I’ve received two other brushes by this brand from Ipsy in the past so I already know how good these are going to be. Haven’t used them yet but, I love how they feel and I love how they look. What a score!!!

Retail Value: $50

Benefit Cosmetics
Sun Beam Golden Bronze Complexion Highlighter

Ipsy’s Description

We like the beach, but it’s really only because we love the glow the sun leaves on our cheeks. This golden shade warms up all skin tones like a bronzer and reflects light like a highlighter in a natural-looking way.

My Thoughts & First Impressions

I’m not into liquid highlighters so I took it out for this photo but popped it right back in. One of you lucky readers will be able to win it in my giveaway coming up in August. πŸ˜€

Retail Value: $26

Huda Beauty
Obsessions Palette in Mauve

Ipsy’s Description

We know you’re not the type to like being tied down–luckily, this all-in-one eyeshadow palette doesn’t require a seat at your vanity. This travel-friendly compact houses nine versatile matte and shimmer shades. Apply matte shades with a dry brush or intensify the shimmer shades with a wet brush for added intensity.

My Thoughts & First Impressions

I always gawked at these palettes on the Sephora website. I honestly didn’t think they’d be so small! The packaging was a little “cheaper” than I expected it to be but, it still had a nice mirror and like the description says, it’s travel-friendly. I wish there were names for each shade but, there are none to be found. I’ve only done the finger-swatches for my photo down below so I won’t comment on the performance! I don’t know much about what makes a great eyeshadow anyways (at least, not yet). πŸ˜›

Shades are from left to right corresponding with the pans in the palette – like how you would read a book.

Retail Value: $27

Total Box Value: $141

    1. It was beautiful & perfectly fine if you decide not to eat or drink out of a cup for the whole day, lol. πŸ˜› I’m super excited about the eyeshadow palette, can’t wait to try it!

  1. Ooh that body butter sounds amazing! Love love love a good body butter, and the orange creamsicle scent is perfect for spring!
But oh my gosh, that lipstick sounds like such a nightmare! What a shame because the matte red is gorgeous. O.O
Happy birthday to your boyfriend! I hope you two have a great time celebrating!

    1. Yesss! At first, I was sad that my body butter was nearly empty but now, I can’t wait until it’s all gone so I can use this orange one. πŸ™‚

The lipstick really confused me because at first, it wasn’t even transferring during kisses! Then, after I ate & drank… it was everywhere!

He says “thank you!,” we had a blast yesterday. πŸ˜€

      1. That lipstick would be so disappointing then! I’m sure you were excited at first when it wasn’t transferring and then horrified at how much of a mess it turned into. O.O

Oh good!! I’m so glad you two had a good time!! Celebrating birthdays as a couple is always the best.

  2. Ah here it is. I was confused. You got two bags? Lol
Happy bday to your boyfriend! Say hello from us!
The orange lotion scent must be amazing for spring and summer!
To remove those long lasting formulas, you need a makeup removing oil. I’m currently using one from Simple Skincare that works quite well, since it’s a long lasting formula it will still stain because it’s a reddish shade, but it will definitely come off. However, Simple isnt CF, which sucks. I’m still hunting for one that is and is just as good.
Those brushes look so luxe!!! One of my favorite things about sub boxes is the brushes, not gonna lie lol.
I’m not into liquid highlighters as much either. Some of them can* be mixed into foundations so I do that instead to give my skin a nice healthy glow lol.
I can’t remember whether people really liked those Huda beauty palettes. But at the same time, I almost dont like her because she blatantly stole the baking concept from beauty bakerie and claimed it was all original. Even down to the campaign photos everyone saw the similarities. It was ridiculous. Beauty bakerie is an indie makeup brand btw. Lol. Anyway, I feel like for that reason I wouldn’t buy her products and everything looks almost the same, especially the highlighter palettes. I would pass. Even so those shades in this palette are pretty. Sorry I went on a ranting tangent lol.
    Great value for the products!

    1. Lol yes, I can’t get myself to cancel the original sample bag because the PLUS version doesn’t include makeup bags. πŸ˜› Boyfriend says “thank you!!” ❀ ❀ πŸ˜€

Yesss, I'm so excited to try the body lotion!! & I figured I needed something like the Clinique purple bottle makeup remover but I don't have anything like it at the moment lol. I actually took a shower before bed & used that FAB Face Cleanser on my wrist & lips. It finally went away & luckily, didn't stain!!

I love the idea of mixing the liquid highlighters into a foundation but since we just recently got that one by Cover FX in our Boxy, I don't mind throwing this one into a giveaway. πŸ™‚

Ahhh! There's always so much scandal in the beauty industry lol. I almost don't want to know about it so I can just enjoy good makeup when it's good makeup, y'know? I've heard a lot of good things about the Huda Eyeshadow palettes/formula so I'm super excited to try it but I doubt I'll ever buy anything by the brand again after knowing she's a copycat lol. πŸ˜›

      1. Oh that sucks! The makeup bags are seriously the best part about ipsy lol .
Ah that’s great! I’ll be looking forward to finally trying that cleanser lmao I’m using another at the moment
Good idea. I wonder if I’ll be keeping anything from my luxe.. lol.
Its exhausting lol. Controversy after controversy not to mention the insane amount of makeup that gets released nearly every month. I’m starting to feel like everything is already been done they’re just trying to make theirs more appealing in terms of packaging or whatever. I mean brands are even selling PR packages… lol. Why??

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Yeah I agree, the makeup bags are the only reason why I keep the regular Ipsy. πŸ˜› I’ll miss them when I finally pull the plug.

I hope you like the cleanser when you get to it! That’s disappointing that you don’t like anything from the Luxe?!

Yeah it is exhausting but I am definitely a sucker for nice packaging, if I’m being honest lol. I’m not even sure what PR packages are!!

          Liked by 1 person

          1. I honestly miss them. I have saved every single one I’ve ever gotten. Maybe I gave one away I dont remember but I do have the rest.
I haven’t tried anything from the luxe box yet but I had a lot of mixed opinions about some products. So who knows. I am excited to try some of them, I wont have high hopes for now lol.

            Liked by 1 person

            1. I’ve given a lot away but otherwise I’ve kept all the rest of mine, too! & I just love getting more… like the bag would be $10 without the samples anywhere else, y’know?

Ahh!! I saw you posted your unboxing. I can’t wait to watch & read it. πŸ˜€

              Liked by 1 person

          2. Oh PR packages are just these big ass boxes that companies usually put together to send to influencers. If you follow any beauty guru on YouTube chances are they have gotten one and usually it’s an entire collection that goes into that pr box. Like the colourpop villains collection or the Disney collection, they basically get all of the products. So now I noticed that some brands are selling those boxes in full for people who want to purchase them. Maybe people buy them because they truly want to test every little thing out or maybe they just want to show off. Whatever the reason, that’s essentially what they’re for. I dont think I would ever buy a pr box for the simple fact that it’s too much makeup and there’s no way you can try every single thing or keep it for yourself.

            Liked by 1 person

            1. Oh okaaaay. I think I know what you’re talking about!! I’d love to be sent one for free but I’d never buy it either. That’s kind of lame that they would sell ’em because now, it’s not super special when people have ’em, right?

              Liked by 1 person

              1. Yeah, you follow Cleia right? I think shes gotten like two PR boxes from Pixi. That’s a small one but there are way bigger ones lol.
And I agree, not super special if anyone can buy them but I guess they’re great for people who do want to show every little thing on their channel over on YouTube. I dont think I could do that though. Not even if I got it for free. I’d look to see what I would like and give the rest away. Lol.

                Liked by 1 person

    1. Ah I think a person who is more experienced with makeup would be able to figure out a way to make the lipstick work better. πŸ˜› I’ll have to do some research lol. I totally agree that the shades in the Huda palette are closer to berries, pinks, & reds but, I love them all. So pretty!!

  3. Happy birthday to your boyfriend Hunida, I hope you both had a wonderful day celebrating ❀
It looks like you got some great stuff from this subscription box. I love the sound of that body butter, I would have been so happy to receive that and those brushes, wow what a treat!!! That looks like the most perfect set.
It's a shame about the lipstick, although to me it sounds good that it doesn't come off hehe, except for the fact it became messy after drinking, that's not great exactly. Lipsticks can be tricky and messy a lot of the time.
I LOVE Huda eyeshadows eek I'm excited to see what you think of this, are you going to create any looks using the palette?! xxx

    Liked by 1 person

    1. He says “thank you!!” ❀ we did have a wonderful day!!

The body lotion & the brushes were my favorites in the box, for sure! The lipstick was nice at first, I think I must have ruined it with the hot coffee?? I don't know lol. I'll have to try it again when I'm brave enough to. πŸ˜›

OH YES! I'm sooo excited to know that you love Huda Eyeshadows. ❀ I cannot wait to try the palette out. I am hoping to do a few looks with it. Stay tuned LOL. πŸ˜‰

      1. Good i’m glad, and you’re welcome back to his thanks haha!
They are brilliant and the thing is, everyone can benefit from them too! Like who doesn’t need brushes or body butter? Like some people don’t wear lippies or blush maybe, but those are staple items you have received! I hope that makes sense haha!
Haha so odd yeah maybe only wear it when no hot drinks are involved? Maybe the temperature activated it? Who knows πŸ˜‚
Yeah Huda is great! I have one of their palettes and it’s so gorgeous! Yayy I’m so excited to see them!

        Liked by 1 person

        1. That totally makes sense, I know exactly what you mean. πŸ™‚ & I was thinkin’ that lippie is maybe a ‘straws only’ kind of formula?

Can’t wait to create some looks & show you!! ❀

  4. Orange Creamscicle Body Butter?!?! Sign me up!!! Product after products are things I would practically use & are soo pretty! (although I’m not sure I could pull off that bold of a color (good to know I wouldn’t be missing out on much with that one!). At least it looks great on you… but a pain if it comes off with eating/drinking – hate that when lip colors smudge so easy!. Thanks for sharing, Hunida πŸ™‚

  5. I don’t get Ipsy Plus, just the regular, but I also received a Purlisse body butter in my bag this month. However, mine was Coconut Oil and Cranberry, and I don’t really like it much. It doesn’t smell like coconut at all, and you can only mildly smell the cranberry. It mostly smells like ointment, to be honest. The orange creamsicle one you got sounds like it might be better.

So cool that you got a whole brush set for your eyes! I received one of the Farrah brushes in a recent Ipsy bag. The one that I got, the bristles are nice and soft, however the part that you hold feels a little cheap.

    1. Ooh that’s interesting that you got a mini version of the same lotion with a different scent in your bag! I haven’t taken the seal off my lotion yet but, I could smell the orange vanilla through it. I hope it doesn’t have the same ointment smell when I actually use it. πŸ˜›

Which FARAH brush did you receive? All their brushes are pretty lightweight, aren’t they?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I’m not sure what you would call the style of brush, but I think it’s meant to apply a light layer of shadow, like for a base coat. Because when I try to use it to apply eyeshadow, it doesn’t hardly pick up any of the pigment at all. It works okay for like a light shadow from the crease to the brow.
