Hi honeys!! I hope you all had a nice weekend and a good start to your week. πŸ™‚

I have some probably unbelievable news for those of you who have been reading my entries for a while. I went to work SOBER and had zero drops of alcohol two whole nights in a row. I honestly don’t think this has happened since before Christmas.

On Sunday night, I didn’t quite make it to work by 10 PM like I wanted to but I did make it there by 10:50 PM and that’s earlier than I have in quite some time! Like, who even am I, right?!

Our club was decorated with so many balloons, streamers, beads, etc. etc. for St. Patty’s Day and we had a great crowd of people. I had nothing but the sweetest men and fingers crossed, I have gained a new regular that doesn’t believe in wasting any of my time (AKA the best kind).

I left work around 3 AM, completely sober and oh so proud. πŸ™‚ I came home, took a shower, smoked a blunt, read a bit of The Mars Room, snuggled with boyfriend, and fell asleep.

Yesterday, we woke up around 2ish in the afternoon. First, we went to the dispensary. We found this delicious strain by Stellar called Forbidden Fruit, it has such a sweet scent and taste.

Then, we went to our favorite sandwich shop (Karved) and got everything we usually get. French dip for me and beef tri-tip for boyfriend. The only thing not pictured is our hummus and pita because it was still being made at the time.

We went to Sprouts after we ate and spent less than we ever have before! I was actually amazed, lol. I need to be full more often when I go there. πŸ˜‰

After we finished shopping, we dropped all of our food off at home and headed to Starbucks for our espressos. I wrote my Recipe Reviews post and then did my hair and makeup. I made it to work around the same time as I did Sunday night but, it wasn’t as successful. I still cannot complain though!

I left around 2:30 AM, feeling so exhausted!! I took a shower, smoked, and read a tiny bit before my eyes got too heavy.

Today, we both awoke at around 1 PM. We laid around until about 3 or 4. I took a shower and did a face mask then, tried out all of my Ipsy samples while boyfriend made dinner. We watched The Great British Baking Show while we ate and by the time we were done, it was time to leave for my musical!

This time, I went to see Hello, Dolly! I had no idea what it was going to be about and for some weird reason, I thought it was going to be about Dolly Parton LOL. It had absolutely nothing to do with her…

It was just a love story with the most beautiful costumes, props, and backdrops I’ve EVER seen.

Everything was seriously top-notch (besides the singing) but, I have to say… this has been the least enjoyable show for me so far.

The choreography was perfectly on-the-mark nearly every time but, the elongated dance scenes were a bit much. They took away from the story instead of adding to it. Everything kind of bored me except Minnie and Barnaby, who had very tiny roles.

Betty Buckley, who performed as Dolly Gallagher Levi, is a Tony Award-winning Broadway legend. While I do see her talent– she was a fantastic actress, dancer, and singer… nothing about her wowed me. I felt her stage presence was very weak; it just didn’t take over the whole stage.

The one voice I could appreciate was Lewis J. Stadlen’s, who played as Horace Vandergelder and had a huge part but, not enough singing solos. He was the most talented on the stage… and since I’m saying who was best, I have to say who was the worst, right?

Well, that award goes to Nic Rouleau who played Cornelius Hackl. While his acting and dancing was alright, his voice made me cringe. Analisa Leaming, who played Irene Molloy, needed some work, too. The high notes were not for her and her acting was a bit shaky at times.

I thought it was cool how they changed the backdrop after it all ended. I snapped a quick photo as I was walking out. πŸ™‚

When I got home, we smoked a blunt while I heated up the other half of my sandwich from Karved in the oven. When it was ready, I ate it in front of some YouTube videos then, I hopped onto here. It’s taken me about an hour to write this.

Now, I’m gonna put together my Ipsy post for tomorrow!

  1. Food looks delish! Sorry the show didn’t turn out so great. I actually have that record in my collection! “Hello Dolly” is a song my grandfather would sing all the time because his sister’s name is Dolly. Brings back memories. Thanks for sharing, Hunida. πŸ’–

    1. I mean, the show was still great… just maybe not as exciting as the ones I’ve seen before it. πŸ˜› I liked the ‘Hello Dolly’ song & the beat is still stuck in my head lol. Happy to help bring back some great memories for you. ❀

  2. How do all these singers that can’t sing get hired for these musicals????

Betty Buckley was on some TV show I used to watch! Let me IMDB her. Ohhh yes. Eight is Enough.

Congrats on your day of sobriety!!! And I hope the nice guy is / stays a regular. No more rapist-wannabes.

Your food from Karved looks so good. I’ve GOT to force myself to stop in at Artisan this weekend. They have yummy Karved-type sandwiches and fries with the most delicious homemade ketchup in the world. But I’m so lazy and hate driving anywhere or leaving the house, really. If I get there, I’ll definitely take a food picture. LOL They have white chocolate confetti cake which I’m dying to try also. Why am I talking about yummy food at 9am when there’s nothing tasty to eat available to me right this second?

    1. I think they get hired because they sing “on-key” most of the time and they are just perfect for the role, y’know? Only a few people in the crowd stood up for the applause so I don’t think I was the only one who was on unimpressed. I actually felt bad at the end so I did stand up for Betty. I didn’t know she had been on a tv show before! That’s pretty cool!

Thank you for the congrats, Jinjer. πŸ™‚ I hope the nice guy comes back, too!!

LOL I feel you on being lazy & just wanting to stay in the house. I’m the same way. I never drive so I’m super lucky to have boyfriend. I’d honestly rather Uber! πŸ˜› Please do take a food picture if you go lol I wanna see!! Chocolate confetti cake sounds like a dream…. mmmm. I love talking about food!! πŸ˜‰

          1. I remember the first time I used Uber in L.A. There were like 10 little car icons on the map and any one of them could be there in 3 minutes. Here, I would probably have to wait 8 hours for our part-time driver to finish her shift at Walmart. LOL

  3. I’ve never seen Hello Dolly, but I loveeee the song “Put on Your Sunday Clothes”! ❀ Great job staying sober, girl! That's awesome, and I'm sure you not only felt proud of yourself but I bet your body felt great too lol.

  4. Reminder: If you’re still into Machine Gun Kelly, he’s going to be starring in a movie called The Dirt. It’ll be coming out on Netflicks, on the 22nd. Just in case you didn’t know.

    1. Yesss!!! I’m def still into Machine Gun Kelly! & I also really enjoyed Nikki Sixx’s memoir in high school. Thank you for the reminder, I cannot wait for the movie. ❀

  5. Hahaha I love that you thought it was about Dolly Parton! Actually, I probably would have too if I had stopped to think about it! We’re so silly haha. I’m thinking of getting a subscription again, but the new season for Chicago isn’t the best. I want to see two of the five so we’ll see!

    1. Lol! We must be the only ones who haven’t heard of this ‘Hello, Dolly’ πŸ˜› I’m glad you would’ve thought the same!!

What is the Chicago Broadway site? I wanna see what shows are in your season. πŸ˜„

        1. Oh my gosh! There’s a Britney Spears musical? I would love to see that! & we both have Mean Girls & Once On This Island in our upcoming series. I’ve never even watched the Frozen film but I’d love to see the musical. Are we both the same on Donna Summer & Oslo being a little iffy? Lol.

Do the tickets sell out quickly when they become available to the public??

          1. I had no idea until I saw it in the next season! I have heard amazing things about Once On This Island and Mean Girls would def be fun. I really want to see Frozen. And yes, those two don’t really spark my interest haha. And I think it really depends. I can see Frozen selling out because of the popularity but the rest would likely still have random seats available, so I think I’ll take that chance!

            1. That’s so fun!! I really hope the Britney Spears Musical comes here in our nextnext season lol. & if the tickets don’t usually sell out that fast, I wouldn’t get a subscription, either!

  6. That’s great that you went to work sober and got there early! Yay! You’re on a roll and hopefully still are.
Lol I had read a long time ago that when you shop when you’re hungry you tend to overspend even if you have a set grocery list lol. I’ve been trying to stay under budget each week but I’m honestly not mad at the fact that we’ve been going over a bit because we’ve been stocking up on healthy foods like fruits and veggies.
That sucks to hear that this was your least enjoyable show. Hopefully the next one is better.

    1. Thank you for cheering me on, Rossy! ❀ I'm going back to work tonight & hoping to keep my sober roll going. We always have a set grocery list but, I add extra things to the cart while boyfriend finds it all so usually always overspend LOL. It's always worth the full kitchen, though!! πŸ˜€

& the next one I'm going to is the first one that is not a musical but, I've heard good things!!

    1. Lol!! I wonder why we thought of Dolly Parton right away… I was so certain, too. Like there was no other Dolly in the world or something. πŸ˜›

Thank you for your support! I’m so happy to hear from you. ❀ I'm almost to the seasons with the new hosts & judge on The British Baking Show!

  7. Aw good for you on going sober to work, girlie! I’m so happy for you! πŸ™‚

That French dip Sammy looks awesome!! YUM! I would have thought Hello, Dolly was about Dolly Parton too- always appreciate your honest/thorough reviews! Thanks for sharing, Hunida πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Mackenzie!!

Almost no other sandwich beats that French Dip!! ❀ LOL I guess there is more than one Dolly out there in the world. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had no idea!!

Thanks for reading & commenting!! ❀

  8. The sandwiches look so good! I would be so excited about the pepperoncini on the side. LOL I love those things!

I saw someone mention MGK in the comments above, and that reminded me… Have you seen the movie Nerve? He was in that too. It came out in 2016, but for some reason I just reccently heard of it. I bought it on Blu-ray and watched it last weekend. I really liked it. Some of it wasn’t all that believable, but it was still entertaining. I also absolutely loved the way it was shot with lots of neon lighting. I love movies like that.

    1. Mm, yes! The pepperoncini on the side is such a plus. ❀ I think I watched Nerve last year. It's on either Netflix or Hulu, but I can't remember which one! I thought it was a really good one, too!! The Dirt is about Motley Crue and MGK is playing the drummer, Tommy Lee lol. It just released yesterday.

      Liked by 1 person

        1. Lol I can’t wait to watch it! Jenna Jameson wrote about dating Tommy Lee for a little bit in her memoir and Nikki Sixx barely mentions him in his memoir but that’s the only reason why I know about the band really (from reading their books). I had no idea he married a YouTube star. That’s so interesting!

          1. Yes, Brittany Furlan. She got popular on Vine first, but after that shut down, she moved over to YouTube and Instagram. She’s only two years older than me, and she’s 24 years younger than Tommy.
