Wow, yesterday flew by so quickly by the time I thought to hop onto WordPress for the first time it was already midnight?

Boyfriend and I woke up around 2 in the afternoon, he did the dishes while I cleaned out the fridge and cupboards, then I got our grocery list ready. I had already picked out the recipes the night before.

I am getting a little bored of going to Smith’s every week so we went to Sprouts for the first time… I was in dairy-free heaven. I can’t believe we had never stepped foot in there before. They not only stocked tons of dairy-free brands and alternatives but 90% of their products are promised to be (and definitely were) natural and organic. Most surprisingly everything was inexpensive (or reasonable). Not to mention, they were having a huge Buy One, Get One Free sale on tons of items.

The whole store was awesome but, I was most impressed with their spice rack. You are able to buy any of their spices at any amount you want. There were even baggies provided as well. Similarly, there were bins of different flours and grains you could scoop on your own… coffee beans, nuts, etc.

I couldn’t believe there was even a deli and a butcher. Their ground beef is 100% grass-fed and half the price of the Simple Truth Organic brand we were buying at Smith’s…

Anyways, I could go on and on about this treasure trove we discovered but, I must move on. We are definitely returning for our next shopping trip so I can talk about it again then heheh.

When we got home from shopping… I tore open all the new snacks and tried everything (as usual). Boyfriend started on making dinner and I watched a few episodes of The Great British Baking Show.

When we finished eating, I browsed the entire web to read and watch a ton of different subscription box unboxing posts because… I was itching to buy a new one LOL. I KNOW, I already have 3 ongoing ones but, I’m going to get the one I eventually decided on just this once and then cancel it… OKAY?!

I continued watching unboxing videos even after I decided on the one I wanted. Y’know… just to make sure I had made the right decision. πŸ˜›

Today, we woke up at nearly 3 PM. I laid around and read more of Down the Rabbit Hole until 5 PM. I, then, hopped into the shower to wash up and shave. I got out, moisturized and then boyfriend and I whipped up some easy-to-make food from our trip to Sprouts.

I picked up this Vegan Salad with Sesame Dressing from their little deli spot. I love getting things that are labeled “vegan” then adding meat to it LOL. Seriously though, when the meat is already included, the makers always skimp out on the rest of the ingredients.

Never would you find quinoa, chickpeas, cashews, walnuts, broccoli AND MORE in a salad that had chicken in it. We made a Sesame Chicken Stir-Fry yesterday so it was the perfect addition into the mix. I decided I prefer chopped salad kits though because there’s way more crunch to those.

Boyfriend had these wonderful looking burritos made by Red’s, one with beef the other with turkey, and tater tots on the side.

When we finished eating, we went to Starbucks for our iced espressos. I pretty much started typing this as soon as we returned home.

I’m gonna go and do my hair and makeup for work now. I’m pretty depressed because my left-hand thumbnail is visibly cracking on one side and if it continues it will be more than painful… but, WORSE than that, I’m going to have trim all my nails down again soon. 😑

Tomorrow, I’ll finally post my review and fave quotes for Never Grow Up (Jackie Chan’s memoir). I had no idea the first of March was THIS FREAKIN’ FRIDAY. The whole ‘only having 28 days in Feb.’ thing really effed me up.

  1. It boggles the mind how a month with 28 days goes by SO MUCH FASTER than a month that only has 2 days more. Why do those 2 days make such a huge difference? Time is a weird little thing.

YES!!!! Chopped salads = crunchy = BETTER!!!!! I did not know the vegan salad, add your own meat trick. Clever!!!

I hate a nail that splits like that!!!! Can you put a little glue under the polish maybe?

    1. RIGHT? It’s just two days but those two days feel like a lot. πŸ˜›

I don’t even think I’m a fan of regular salads anymore because chopped is so much better! & YES, the vegan trick works at restaurants too. I’ll be like can I get the “vegan meal, add chicken” and they always look at me funny LOL.

It’s so annoying. This same thumbnail split last time I had to clip my nails!! I did put a little glue under the polish but it has broke free. 😦

  2. It totally makes sense why you prefer to add meat to vegan meals… of course the vegan meals are going to have so much more to them than if you bought it with the meat already! Good thinking Hunida because that never would have crossed my mind before! You are so clever! Oh no! I hope your nail is ok, a broken nail is so painful eww I can’t even think about it! 😭

    1. Seriously, vegan meals always have so many goodies included in them especially at sandwich shops!! I just noticed one time like… “I would really love that with some meat” & the sandwich artist looked at me crazy but he was able to do it for me. It was one of the biggest & best ones I ever ate LOL.

I know I am SO sad about the nail. I reallllly hope it doesn’t break all the way. 😦

      1. Haha oh wow I bet the server was SO confused! Like whaat because most people who eat vegan eat it because they’re actually vegan. He must have been baffled but I like your thinking! Aha I LOVE that! I hope not, is it ok now?

  3. I couldn’t believe it when I realized that March starts this week either. It’s sooo soon! After January taking forever, it feels like February sped by. I guess that’s how this year is going to go, lol.
Anyway, Sprouts is AMAZING. Their food is such high-quality and it’s so nice to know that 95% of all of their food and products are at least natural if not organic. Oh and their sales are incredible. Like, when food goes on sale there, it’s a huge steal. I’m so glad you found them! We recently bought sliced chicken breast and whole grain bread from them for sandwiches and I think I’m addicted! Oh and the bulk bins are awesome. We used to scoop our oatmeal there all the time.

    1. Seriously, February feels like it was two weeks long. What the heck?! I wonder if March will speed by. I have a feeling it will…

Holy crap, yeah, Sprouts is freaking amazing. WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME ABOUT IT SOONER? LOL. Their sales really were incredible. I couldn’t believe how many items were on BOGO?! Why do you not regularly go grocery shopping there?! Their app & rewards program is pretty cool, too! The spice rack and bulk bins were just awesome.

      1. Hahaha I guess I didn’t realize you didn’t know about Sprouts?! lol. We don’t regularly shop there because even with their prices, Walmart is still more affordable. And we have to penny pinch with out budget, lol. But otherwise, I’d shop at Sprouts for everything!! It really is such a fantastic store. I love that it’s a farmers market so everything is so fresh and healthy. Oh I don’t really know anything about their rewards program, but that’s awesome that it’s a good one!

        1. Ohhh you know what, I’ve never even tried grocery shopping at Walmart. It’s so far away from us & last time we went a big Uhaul smashed us in the parking lot so we’re like too scarred to go back LOL.

  4. We love Sprouts! It’s a great place to find some good buys. We always keep an eye out for their sales ads before doing our weekly grocery shop and that helps us get some good finds! I can’t wait to see what you end up finding and loving there!

  5. I love Sprouts!! I go there every payday to get my meats, veggies, and cat food. Such a fun place.
You’re making me want to get a box subscription but I would have a hard time choosing which one πŸ˜‹

    1. Sprouts really was a fun place! Where do you shop for your other grocery items?! The sub boxes are so fun. They’re easy to cancel so I don’t feel like it’s a big deal if you try different ones every month if you can’t decide!

      Thank you, Steffani! ❀

  6. We love Sprouts tooo!!!! I could literally buy everything in that stinkin’ store- it’s dangerous haha. So excited for you to have discovered it! And that’s actually such a good idea to get the solely vegan things & add meat to them!! Definitely more bang for the buck & ya get alll the veggies. I’ll need to remember that! Thanks for sharing, Hunida πŸ™‚

    1. I can’t believe I hadn’t been to Sprouts before, I know you love TJ’s but it reminded me of an amped up version of there! πŸ˜› & yesss, it’s like when there’s meat included, everything else is skimped out on.

Thank you so much for reading & commenting, Mackenzie! β™‘β™‘β™‘

  7. I wonder if Sprouts is like Whole Foods here. We also have Natural Grocers and New Seasons. I’ve been to all three and they seemed to be the same more or less lol. All natural, lots of organic meats and veggies and fruits. Were actually thinking of going back, for some reason we always forget to go there but Alex has been serious about going again which surprised me lol.
I didn’t know Jackie chan has a memoir. Neat!

    1. Sprouts is like a mini version of Whole Foods. It doesn’t have all that extra pizzazz like the fresh juice makers, hot pizza, sandwiches, salad bar etc. Imagine Whole Foods with just the grocery aisles & you have Sprouts. πŸ™‚ I’ve never seen a Natural Grocers or New Seasons around here though! Maybe they are more similar? I mean I like Whole Foods but all the prices are jacked up by at least $2 on everything & the bakery items are always stale lol. Plus it is so big in there, I get overwhelmed. I do love all the fresh stuff, like juices, sammies, & salad bar items though!! I used to go there for lunch/dinner all the time when I lived in Minneapolis.
