5 “Weirdo” Things I Do

1. I brush my teeth in the shower.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been brushing my teeth in the shower. I thought it was normal. I mean, I knew that other people sometimes brushed their teeth at the sink but, I always thought that was terribly inconvenient. When I moved in with my past-BFF, she told me it was weird and so did boyfriend but, they both ended up doing the same everyday after awhile. Why wouldn’t you?! It saves time and water!

2. I (almost) never wear underwear.

Unless I’m wearing a short skirt or some uber tight jeans that will become uncomfortable without a little fabric protection, I’m going commando! I hate hate hate wearing underwear. That’s why I’m in love with soft pants and leggings.

3. I shave without any sort of cream.

I shave when I’m in the shower. I stay wet and use my razor under the running water, that’s it. I never feel any pain and never get any nicks. I do get ingrown hairs once in awhile but I blame that on shaving more often than I should. If you never get any, please, let me know your secret.

4. I always turn on the subtitles.

No matter what I’m watching or which device I’m watching it on, I need to and will turn on the subtitles. Maybe I’m deaf but, I can’t seem to catch or follow along with anything going on in shows or films unless I can read the words while the characters are saying them! When I first met boyfriend, this drove him crazy but, he always has them on now, too. πŸ˜‰ I almost don’t even want to watch anything that doesn’t have them available or if they do but the words are going too fast or slow…

5. I rarely ever wear matching socks.

I have lots of socks. They are just so tiny, all over the place, and different from each other! I throw them into one drawer and pick out two whenever I need them. Matching is such a hassle. All I care about is the fabric and thickness of the socks– those two things have to be the same.

  1. My brother brushes his teeth in the shower. Have you tried shaving with coconut oil or olive oil? I don’t use either but I heard someone mention it in a video. About 10 years ago I use to always watch tv shows with subtitles too haha, good if there’s loud noises!

    1. I have tried coconut oil & it was the worst… I cut myself so many dang times and I felt like I was never really smooth. I haven’t tried olive oil though! Do you use cream? & even if I am in a quiet room, alone, with my headphones in, I still need the subtitles on. πŸ˜› I don’t know why!!

    1. Gosh, I don’t even know if I can watch something I’ve seen a thousand times without it now lol! & shaving without cream isn’t so bad, is it?! So happy that you occasionally do it too!! πŸ˜€

  2. “I knew that other people brushed their teeth in the sink sometimes” 🀣 I’m dying. I definitely say it’s the other way around. #sinktoothbrusher

I used to hate watching anything with subtitles. I felt like I was paying more attention to them that the actual video. But now its second nature. Especially things with accents. Emma does it too. Sometimes she says “I dont want the words on now” and she turns it off for like a few minutes then puts them back.

    1. LOL I know, I know. I’m the weird one. πŸ˜› & I need the subtitles on, always! I don’t even think I’m reading them except I notice when they’re off right away. So cute that Emma uses them, too!

    1. I just don’t get the point of matching them when they get hidden inside shoes anyways, right?! & I have no idea why I like the subtitles but that could totally be part of it!

  3. I never use cream when I shave as well, lol! I tried it once and thought it was a waste of money to buy the can and then it would get really messy and just time consuming to spread the cream all over the legs, haha.

Sometimes I use conditioner and soap when my razor runs out of that moisturizing strip thing.

    1. I agree!! Since I shave in the shower, right when I would put the cream down… the water washed it right away sooo… def a waste of time & money for me, too lol. I’ve never used a razor until the moisturizing strip has run out though whoa– my blades get dull by then!

  4. Ooh I love this Hunida! I have never brushed my teeth in the shower nor do I know anybody who does, I’m going to ask around πŸ˜‰ I suppose it makes sense but still, I’m not sure I’ll try it haha! Ooh you never wear underwear? Underwear shopping is one of my favourite things to do!!!! So do you never treat yourself to nice lingerie? I definitely go braless a lot of the time because it feels so much more comfier, and putting a bra on is EFFORT, but I always wear knickers. And I hate subtitles 😭 I have a headache just thinking about it! I hope you do a part two of this post because I really enjoyed it! Lots of love to you Hunida! X

    1. Gosh it’s just so much easier to brush my teeth in the shower lol. Let me know if you find anyone else who does it so I don’t feel so weird. πŸ˜‰ If I buy myself a nice lingerie then I’ll more than likely be wearing it to work instead of underneath my clothing! If my shirt is thick &/or baggy enough I will skip the bra, too lol! It feels so much better that way!

LOL ahh, I do see how subtitles could give you a headache! A lot of people have made me turn them off if we are watching together! All the love to you, sweet Jennie!!! ❀

    1. Yesss!! Underwear is the worst & literally so pointless. πŸ˜› Hmm… now that you say that… Maybe I started watching TV with subtitles on when I lived with my loud little brothers & have never been able to stop? Now I need them even if my headphones are in & I’m the only one in the room lol.

  5. My husband has always brushed his teeth in the shower and I’ve picked up his habit. πŸ™‚
I love my pantie collection and love wearing them, so you and I differ there for sure. I also HAVE to have matching socks-I think it’s an OCD trait of mine.

    1. Oh I love that!! Like me and boyfriend but the other way around πŸ™‚ isn’t it so much easier in the shower?

If I do wear underwear, it is never the pretty kind so maybe that’s why I don’t care for it LOL & I don’t mind the pattern of the socks not matching but I do need them to feel the same so I get where you’re coming from!

  6. Oh interesting! Whenever I watch something in English, I make sure NOT to have subtitles on – it’s not my native language and I kinda feel like I need to prove that I’m able to understand everything without the help of subtitles. It was funny when I stayed at my ex’s house (British guy, native English speaker) and I found out he watched everything with subtitles on.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Oh that makes sense that you don’t use them as a sort of test to yourself. πŸ™‚ I like that! & it’s nice to know your ex was the same as me with always having them on lol it helps make me feel a little less weird. ❀

  7. I can relate to a lot of these lol if I showered in the morning I would def brush my teeth in the shower, I almost never wear underwear unless the outfit calls for it, I shave with bodywash because who the heck has time to buy multiple shower items, and my socks are never matching mostly due to laziness!

  8. Brushing your teeth in the shower makes total sense but where do you store your toothbrush? In the shower? If outside of the shower, what do you do with the toothbrush while you’re doing everything else? Climb out, put the toothbrush away and get back in? I can’t figure out the logistics of this!!!!

I always have the closed captioning on. Started doing that in L.A. because I live on the flight path for Southwest planes landing at Burbank airport. It’s impossible to hear the TV when those planes are landing, 5 minutes apart. And then it became a habit so now I can’t watch TV I have to be able to READ my TV. LOL

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I store it inside the shower lol. We keep our toothbrush holder on a shelf, which we have a lot of built-in ones where we live now but before, I did have to have a shower caddy.

I don’t know when my subtitle habit started but it must have been because I was always trying to watch TV around loud noises before, too? Either way, at least I know I’m not the only one now πŸ˜€

      1. I may have to take another look at the whole toothbrush shower storage thing. It definitely is more convenient to brush them in the shower and then you don’t have to clean gross toothpaste out of the sink. Hmmm…

  9. I haven’t been commenting…been a little busy! But, I am always reading your blog! I LOVE this post. During the winter, I rarely take my sweatshirt off. Accordingly, I rarely wear a bra! I spend so much time in sports bras/ athletic clothes for practicing and teaching yoga…It’s nice to keep the girls “Unconstricted.” Underwear, I do wear! But, sometimes it is nice to go commando. I literally had this conversation with two different people yesterday. I definitely chuckled when I read your post! You watch movies with subtitles too? I thought I was the only one who did that! I don’t know if it is because my hearing is bad or what? My boyfriend thinks it is an odd habit. I feel like I pay attention more? who knows! I went through a period where I used shower gel instead of shaving cream. However, I do notice fewer ingrowns when I use the cream. So I cough up the extra bucks…the issue really is the lack of real estate on the shower periphery…two body washes, razor, face wash, shampoo, conditioner…razor…heaven forbid my housemate wants to keep anything in the shower! In my 30 years on this planet, I never brushed my teeth in the shower. I find this perplexing.

    1. Oh no worries!! I did miss your comments though. ❀ Thank you for always reading!

Ahh yes, athletic wear is just so much more comfortable and if you're wearing a big sweatshirt– there's really no need for a bra, right?! πŸ˜€ I'm the same way on that one!

Boyfriend thought it was the weirdest & most annoying habit for me to have the subtitles on all the time too, I would even turn it off for him sometimes, but now he always has 'em on, too lol. I think it does help us pay attention to what we're watching?? I don't know! Lol I just like it. πŸ˜›

We have a lot of built-in shelves in our shower. He has his own toothbrush and shampoo and loofah but we use the same body wash because the men's stuff always gives me a headache. πŸ˜› There's also room for the toothpaste, my razor, my shampoo, and face wash!! When we didn't have all the shelves though, we had a shower caddy that hung from the shower head!

  10. I always watch stuff with subtitles on too! I’ve gotten so used to them that I’m not sure if I’m even consciously aware of them. Same on the no underwear πŸ˜‚ I’ve always been paranoid about getting into an accident and being judged for not having any on but I’m sure that’s completely irrational πŸ˜‚ Not sure about brushing teeth in the shower, it would save water though πŸ€”

    1. I don’t know if I’m actually reading the subtitles either but it makes me feel better to see that they’re there lol. Love that you always turn them on them, too & also go commando πŸ˜€ I was actually pantsed in 8th grade & yeah, I wasn’t wearing underwear then either… but I just hope nothing crazy like that happens to me again LOL I don’t think it’s irrational to worry! Honestly, try brushing your teeth in the shower & see if you like it before you knock it hahah.

      1. Hahahaha! That’s the worst but yea, I assume that doctors would be worried about other things than lack of undies but I’m still gonna worry πŸ˜‰ I think I will, having the faucet running is such a waste!

  11. I totally get the brushing the teeth in the shower, but it doesn’t work out with my schedule. I wake up and immediately brush my teeth, coffee, and either workout or work. I shower post workout or work! It is a great idea for showering first thing in the morning…especially if you are conditioning your hair and need to kill some extra time and be productive!
I also shave my legs dry, but in the shower so the water moistens everything up! I don’t particularly like shaving creams or gels and I’m not quite sure what they are supposed to do?! Love this post!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I think if I had your schedule, I’d just wait to brush my teeth until after the workout LOL but it totally makes sense that you want fresh breath right away! & right?! I’ve never seen any benefits from using shaving creams/gels?

Thank you, Jess!! So glad you loved this post. πŸ˜€

  12. I’ve known a few people to brush their teeth in the shower! I don’t personally, but it never seemed weird to me for other people to do it. I guess I feel like it takes me too long to do everything else in the shower that I don’t want to add that on top of it all lol.
I watch with subtitles too!! They used to annoy me, but then I met Joshua and everyone in his family uses subtitles, so it didn’t take me too long to see the benefit. It’s great for hard to understand accents, fast talkers, or when you just don’t want the volume up too loud.
Oh and I used to be okay with not matching socks, but now I can’t do it. My OCD drives me crazy and I feel grouchy & unsettled if I don’t match them. Like, I could have full boots on and still not being able to stop thinking about my mismatching socks. -_- I don’t mind mismatching pairs on other people though!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Aw! Well even if you don’t do it, at least you never thought it was weird. πŸ™‚ That’s so nice to know that other people watch with subtitles, too! It just makes paying attention so much easier! & I totally get that mismatched socks would bother you, but at least I wouldn’t bother you with mine, hehe. πŸ™‚ ❀

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Yeah I don’t think it’s weird at all, just something some people do lol. Exactly, subtitles are super helpful!! Especially when I’m not accustomed to a certain accent. Haha nope it doesn’t bother me with other people at all, I love the quirkiness of mismatching socks! But for me, I have to make sure they don’t clash with the rest of my outfit, not mention match each other hahaha.

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Yes! Like when I was watching Love Island (UK), I would have missed the entire thing if I didn’t have subtitles on. Not only are their accents thick but they use words we’ve never even heard of! & well, the same often happens in American films and shows, too, haha. πŸ˜› I am so bad at matching… like I always have to ask my boyfriend “does this match?!” he always tells “no” when I swear it looks alright hahaha.

          Liked by 1 person

          1. Too true, and then you’re left wondering if you missed something important when you didn’t understand something lol.
Hahaha that’s too funny! I’m the more fashionably inclined out of Joshua & I and I’m color blind, so we’re a bit doomed. πŸ˜‰

  13. I love this!! I almost always brush my teeth in the shower. I think it just makes more sense bc it’s way more comfortable and convenient. And omg #4 I cannot for the life of me follow along when I’m not actively reading subtitles. I don’t know if it’s like an attention thing but I think it’s also the same reason it’s hard for me to pay attention in class. I have a hard time just listening for long periods of time lol
So I thought it was completely normal to constantly be wearing pantiliners every day but I learned recently that apparently some people don’t wear pantiliners with their underwear and then there are people like you who can go commando! So I just assumed that maybe some people don’t have as much…vaginal secretions? I’m super jealous actually because I know if I wore leggings without underwear, as comfortable as it would be I would be super sticky by the end of the day!

    Liked by 2 people

    1. So much more comfortable & convenient, right?? & I’m the exact same!! I just can’t pay attention if there aren’t any subtitles. I had the hardest time paying attention in classes, too!

Hmm… I’m not a doctor but, I think you make more vaginal secretions because you do wear underwear & I can’t believe you are always wearing a pantyliner, too!? It needs to breathe a little babe! I usually only secrete when I am turned on, obviously, and randomly a few days before my period. πŸ˜› BUT all women are different so I could be all wrong!!

      1. Omg I love how open you are I think my question def had the potential to be awkward haha but I also felt comfortable talking about it bc I know you’re pretty open too! But I think you might be on to something actually bc I don’t wear underwear when I sleep and I don’t wake up all sticky or anything hmmmm I’m going to try going commando one day

        Liked by 1 person

        1. Aw yeah, I am glad you feel comfortable talking to me πŸ™‚ I’ve heard the most of it so it would take a lot to make me feel awkward lol. You should totally try going commando for a couple weeks and see how it goes?!

    1. Hahaha oh no, maybe I am not mentally stable! I just hate leaving socks on the side while I’m folding until I find the matching, I just throw it all into one big pile & stop worrying about it! I usually wear sandals anyways hehe.

  14. haha funny read! I do see the convenience in brushing your teeth under the shower… But not wearing underwear would feel strange for me! At home I don’t wear a bra, but I feel naked without my underpants… Even when I sleep… xoxo Sarah

  15. I will never understand how people go without underwear. No offense. lol I was actually just scrolling through the comments, and only one person (Keira) mentioned what I’m about to as well. Forgive the TMI (even though I know you don’t care), but I get so much discharge (and it’s been that way since I first hit puberty) that sometimes it basically soaks my panties and I have to change them. I have to wear underwear because I would not want it running down my leg or soaking through my pants if I’m in public. However, having discharge is necessary to flush out bacteria from the vagina, so I think the fact that I get a lot of it has been beneficial because I’ve never had any infections before. Not even a yeast infection, which I hear can be pretty common. What’s funny is I can usually feel when a lot of it is about to come out (just like when you’re on your period and you feel a gush coming out). If I’m home, I’ll try to run to the bathroom really quick. lol

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I used to get a lot of discharge when I wore underwear, too, but that was while I was going through puberty I think… Now, I only get it a few days before my period or when I’m horny LOL. But sorry if this is TMI, but, I squirt a LOT during sex so maybe I am already getting rid of everything at those times… I’ve never had a yeast infection or any problems down there except for when I slept with the wrong guy and caught the clap once in HS… but, every woman is different. I think I stopped wearing underwear when I read that it’s healthier in a magazine once! They said “once in awhile go commando” though but it just became everyday for me. πŸ˜› I think that underwear kind of suffocates me and makes me sweaty and less pleasant down there lol.

      1. I’ve wanted to try to sleep without underwear sometimes, but it feels so weird to me when I don’t have any on. It does get kind of sweaty sometimes though, so I know what you mean about that.

  16. Okayy we are so similar!!! I always brush my teeth in the shower (efficient, right?!), use subtitles (can’t miss a beat!), and sometimes shave without any shaving cream (also sometimes just more efficient, lol)! This was sooo fun to read!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Heheh YES!! I still can’t believe people think brushing your teeth in the shower is weird when it’s just so much more efficient. I can’t watch anything without the subtitles & shaving cream has proved pointless to me lol. Glad you could relate with me on some of these, Mack! πŸ˜€

I like substitles too. No real reason for it, but it’s nice to have them when they’re speaking so fucking softly that you can barely hear them lol.
The sock thing is cute! I don’t think I’ve ever worn mismatched socks, I think I’m too OCD for that πŸ˜‚
