Journal Entry #198

Yesterday was finally Sushi Sunday!! I woke up quite early, around 10 AM. I spent a lot of time reading blogs until boyfriend woke up around 12 PM. We were both jumping with joy, ready for dinner to start at Sakana.

We knew we had to get there early this time or we’d be stuck going to Ono Sushi again. We left the house just a little bit before 3 PM. We thought dinner started at 3:30 but it actually started at 3. We got there around 3:15 though and LUCKILY, they weren’t busy yet. We got seated right away. As we were leaving– that’s when things were starting to get crazy in there. Whew!!

Everything was coming out so fast. I am never able to capture every single thing we try when we go to AYCE but, here are some of our appetizers:

And I spoiled myself with a little Affogato for dessert… oops… πŸ™‚

I had my Recipe Reviews scheduled for yesterday so I didn’t have a post to write when we got home. If you didn’t already guess, I hopped onto The Sims right away and played until 3 AM when we both saved our progress and turned off our games. In bed, I read the first chapter of a new book I started and looked up some recipes before falling asleep.

When I woke up today, boyfriend was laying next to me awake and watching Twitch folks on his phone. I was surprised because he said he had already went out to the living room to play his XBOX for a little bit, too. Usually I hear him leave the room or feel him give me a kiss, but not today. I slept like a freakin’ log and woke up at 3 PM thinking it was maybe… noon or at the latest 1 PM. Jeez, lol.

We smoked a blunt, I quickly wrote our shopping list then, off we went to Smith’s. When we got home, we ate some shrimps with cocktail sauce and boyfriend broiled hot dogs in the oven; it was the best idea, ever. We put them on potato hot dog buns (which I’ve never had before– they were so yummy) with onions, sriracha, and mustard. We considered these our appetizers because boyfriend is cooking real dinner now lol. I can’t help but stuff my face after a trip to the grocery store!! I need to have one of everything that’s new in the kitchen. πŸ˜›

I hopped onto WordPress right after my deliciously toasty hot dog. Now, I’m gonna watch Futureman until dinner is done and throughout my eating of dinner then… more than likely, I’ll be playing The Sims for the rest of the night. πŸ˜€ I might bake some cookies later, too… or I might save them for another night.

Tomorrow is the first play of 2019!! I’ll be seeing Dear, Evan Hansen and I am more than excited. I have only heard the best things about this musical!! EEEE!!! I cannot wait to share all about it with you!!

The Smith Center will be releasing the next season’s shows soon and I’m just dying to know which ones they will be. I will probably renew my subscription for another round even if I haven’t heard of any of them. I love seeing a show almost once every month and how cool that I get to keep the same seat, too. Makes me feel special. πŸ™‚

Hope you’ve all had a great start to your week! ❀

  1. Love that picture of Boyfriend. LOL

Oh man!!!! I wish I could go to those sushi place! You guys always get the yummiest looking sushi. And if I ever see that Affogato on a menu you can bet on me ordering it. Never heard of it until you talked about it and I Googled it. My god!!!! Yum!

I haven’t had a broiled hot dog since January 1996. I recently got up the nerve to use the broiler so now I’m going to have to add hot dogs to my list. I will only eat Hebrew National Hot Dogs as they are my favorite.

I think it’s so cool that you have season tickets and your same seat every time. I miss going to the theatre with my friend in L.A. She always gets season tickets and I would occasionally get a “hot ticket” and meet her down there after work. We liked to grab tacos from the taco lady before the show, eat at the tables outside by the fountains, and then we’d grab coffee and a tasty treat from the little kiosk thingie outside the theatre. I usually got the gigantic Rice Krispies Treat that was partially dipped in chocolate. Yum! I didn’t eat it during the play though. That would be very annoying to the people around me. LOL I saved it for when I got home. All of that was at the big theatres Downtown at the Music Center. We also like to go around all the little 99 seat theaters around town.

    Enjoy your musical tomorrow!!

    1. Hahaha I had some nicer ones where he was smiling but, I like how he makes the angry face when I surprise him with a picture. πŸ˜€

In my opinion, this is the best sushi place in Vegas. It’s so freakin’ good! Affogatos are amaaaazing. The best little desserts, ever. ❀ Hope you can find one to try soon!

I've never heard of Hebrew National Hot Dogs? Are they common in all grocery stores? We usually just eat the 100% beef franks. They were wonderful made in the broiler.

I like having the season ticket, too, but it's been impossible to get boyfriend a ticket to accompany me; that's the only downfall! That theatre in L.A. sounds specatacular! We don't really have anything outside of ours. We just have one dining room with different deli snacks & a few boring concession stands! I want a big rice krispie dipped in chocolate! LOL sometimes, I eat little granola bars during the plays… oops! I know it's annoying but I get hungry and everyone else does it, too. πŸ˜›

I'm so excited to go tonight!!

    1. Affogato is a shot of espresso with a scoop of vanilla ice cream πŸ˜€ it’s so yummy!! Lol I like that he kisses me and I get sad if he doesn’t but sometimes I also get mad when he wakes me up out of a nice slumber… πŸ˜›

    1. You put your oven to broil and cook your hot dog that way!! It comes out all burnt like you made it over a campfire! The potato bun was interesting, it tasted and looked like a normal hot dog bun but I guess made out of potatoes! Lol I am so excited for the musical. Thank you, Jennie! πŸ˜€ Have you heard of Dear, Evan Hansen?!

      1. I never even heard of this term broil, I don’t even know if my oven has it hahaha but thanks. That sounds delicious! & the bun sounds so nice because I love potatoes, was it super soft and fluffy? That’s okay – I have never heard of it, no!! So I look forward to reading all about it in your next diary entry!

        1. Really?! I thought all ovens have it but, maybe not! The bun was reeeally soft and fluffy. YUM!! Kind of like those Hawaiian buns but without the sweetness.

I’m surprised you haven’t heard of Dear Evan Hansen!! I hope you enjoy reading about it whenever you do!! ❀

    1. LOL I am laughing because you’re reading my blog during class!! Sorry to make you hungry though, hope you got a break shortly afterwards!! & those broiled hot dogs, girl… I’m tellin’ you! YUM!

I am addicted to The Sims hahaha, I love that you can play it for hours too! I feel crazy for loving it so much!

    1. Lol he’s so silly πŸ˜€ When was the last time you ate a hot dog? We always have them in our fridge. I know they aren’t good for you but they’re so darn yummy… especially now that boyfriend’s been broiling them!! Lol.

I love having the same seat & not having to worry about if I’ll be able to snag a ticket for a show. Can’t wait to see what shows are coming here next year!

      1. I don’t know? LOL I mean, I’ve had them like cubed with scrambled eggs in the morning, but hot dogs with a bun….maybe since summer? I eat them less and less now same as meat now that I know how bad meat is for you. And honestly, I also can’t eat them too often because I get headaches. I’m gonna have to become a vegetarian or something because I can no longer eat the foods I was able to eat 😦 LOL

  2. You know, sometimes that happens with Joshua too! He’ll get up and do things around the house while I’m still asleep, and when I wake up, I’m always shocked because I didn’t notice him get up at all lol. It’s crazy how heavily we can sleep sometimes!

  3. I just remembered going to my friend Jacquie’s house for lunch when we were kids. She lived close enough to school that we could walk to her house to eat and watch The Dick Van Dyke Show. LOL Anyway, her family had an electric grill whereas my family had a charcoal grill. I was amazed that she could just turn the thing on and grill us up a hot dog without waiting for the stupid charcoal to heat up. LOL

    1. Yesss, before we discovered the broiler we were frying them in a pan!! I hate a boiled hot dog lol. They’re so weird!!

Sushi Sundays are the best Sundays πŸ˜€ ❀

  4. hahah I AM so the same about eating all the food once home from the grocery store. It’s like Christmas morning. I gotta just rip open a little bit of everything !! Those hot dogs really do some perfect- & shrimp cocktail too?! Ohhh yummy. I still have yet to try affogato. I want to, but it’d need to be decaf or I wouldn’t fall asleep until 7 am. I wish I wasn’t so darn sensitive to caffeine. Have a great weekend, love!

    1. Hahaha oh my gosh, so happy that I’m not the only one. I need to try it all right away!! πŸ˜€

Do they have decaf espresso?! I wish I was more sensitive to caffeine so I wouldn’t have to drink so much lol.
