Hey guys πŸ™‚ good news! I didn’t forget how to do my job lol.

Last night, on the way to work, boyfriend and I got pulled over by the police. We were like, “what the heck?” We had no idea our license plate light was out. He just checked boyfriend’s ID and let us go after informing us about it.

We stopped for a drink beforehand. I ended up having two but, not really feeling that drunk. I had another small shot at work but, that’s it. I’ll see if I can stay completely sober tonight. πŸ˜›

Next week is going to be super busy here in Las Vegas because this huge convention is going on. Everyone always gets so excited for it but, I get extremely nervous. Like, it would be more devastating to not do good when you know you should, y’know?

For dinner, boyfriend and I went to Satay Thai Bistro & Bar. We’ve been like twice before and it didn’t disappoint, but this time, it did.

We got the Beef & Chicken satays and the fresh summer shrimp rolls to share. The meat sticks were a lot smaller than I expected and the little cucumber salad didn’t have the usual dressing I like.

I’m not sure if I’m spelling it right but, boyfriend tried something new for once. He went for their Char Kway Teow with beef and shrimp. I liked it but, it didn’t have that much flavor. Boyfriend wasn’t much of a fan at all.

I ordered the same noodle dish that I got a previous time we dined here, the Mee Goreng with shrimp and chicken. It just wasn’t as good as the first time.

The service was terrible, too. It took them a year to even bring us a cup of water and it seemed like we were bothering them while we ordered, like he rushed us through the whole time. So rude, right?

Boyfriend was supposed to be at work yesterday but, I had no food to eat at home and I was being spoiled (didn’t wanna walk or greet a delivery man) so, he faked illness and got sent home like an hour after I woke up LOL. Shhh, don’t tell anyone. πŸ˜‰

Today, I didn’t wake up until past 4 PM. I showered, moisturized, and tried that hair stuff I got in my December Ipsy bag. OH MY GOSH!! My hair went soft instantly. Wow wow wow. I am so impressed and can’t stop touching it now (I know I shouldn’t… but I still will) LOL.

I did a bunch of chores around the apartment and then made myself a little salad for dinner. I watched an episode of Star, scrolled through some social media, then started typing this.

Boyfriend’s on his way home from work now. I hope he makes it safely in this rain! I was going to paint my nails before he got here but, I guess I’ll have to wait and see if I have time after I’m done with my makeup to do them.

Hope you all have a fun and safe rest of your weekend ❀

  1. That’s so annoying when you have a great meal at a restaurant and then you go back and it’s not as good. And how can you forget to put the dressing on the cucumber salad for heaven’s sake???

I’m now wondering if we have lights on our license plates in Arkansas. I’ll have to check! Do you have to have both a front and rear plate in Vegas? We do in L.A. but not Arkansas. Arkansas only has rear plates.

    1. I know! I wish restaurants could be more consistent with what they serve. πŸ˜› & they didn’t forget the dressing, it was just like a different one that I wasn’t expecting & didn’t enjoy as much. πŸ˜›

We only have to have the front license plate if our car has a spot made for it.

  2. Oh wow Char Kway Teow and Mee Goreng are Singaporean dishes! Was this like a fusion Thai place? It looks delicious! Although those aren’t my favs either if there is a Singapore/Malaysian restaurant near you def order Mee Siam or laksa πŸ˜‹ it’s so hard to find good authentic dishes that taste like they’re supposed to!

    1. I think they said the Mee Goreng was Malaysian on the menu and yeah!! The Char Kway Teow was Singaporean. πŸ™‚ There was Laksa on the menu, too! I had tried it once before at this Malaysian restaurant in MN, it was wooonderful!!! I’ve never heard of Mee Siam though, I will definitely keep my eye out for that one. Thanks for the recommendation, Keira. πŸ™‚

  3. While it rained there, we got a bunch of snow here, lol. I guess it was the same storm!
Glad to hear your work went well! πŸ™‚ I agree that restaurant was so rude…I hate when places like that act like I’m bothering them by ordering. That’s the whole point of going out to eat, lol. XD

    1. Oh that’s so funny! We were saying if it had been like just a few degrees colder here, it would’ve snowed! & seriously… why do some waiters/waitresses act that way?? It’s so dang rude.

  4. Anytime there’s terrible service or bad food I almost refuse to return. I know I shouldn’t feel entitled but it’s their job? Lol. I tip well, just not if they’re rude haha,
Good luck on the convention next week (this week?) lol

    1. Right? I know exactly what you mean. We are the exact same way! Being nice, welcoming, and social is part of their job.

Thank you! It’s starting tomorrow and I’m getting cold feet already. πŸ˜›

  5. Getting pulled over by the cops is SO nerve wracking. Girl- we are so similar in so many ways- like you I would prefer the bar set low and way exceed it rather than have the pressure and fall short. I feel ya on that! Ahh so sorry the thai experience wasn’t so great. Service really is everything- when it’s not good I swear it makes the food taste worse too. Hope your week is off to a great start! xo

    1. It really is… we were like “what the heck did we do wrong?!” Like, there was no reason for us to get in trouble but it’s still scary!

Oh my gosh, yes, that’s exactly how I feel!! It’s so comforting to know that you’re the same as me. ❀ It seems I'm the only who's nervous out of all my colleagues lol.

& you're right!! It does make the food taste worse when the service is bad. It's like you get a bit more nit-picky because it needs to be real good to make up for it!

Hope your week is off to a great start as well, love!!! ❀

  6. Sorry to hear the food was disappointing. I hate when food doesn’t meat your expectations. I’ve been so hungry for Asian food lately. I don’t care what kind, I just want some. lol It’s been months since I’ve had any.

    1. I’m from Minnesota but have been in Vegas since 2016 πŸ™‚ it really is incredible over here! Star was such a good show! I just finished all of the episodes but I think there is going to be another season!
