Okay, so not only is our car leaking coolant somewhere but, now the alignment or something is off. Boyfriend says the steering forces him to the left and it’s also making a bit of a squeaky noise. Why oh why are we always having car issues?! They are the freakin’ worst and it weighs on me all day and night… it’s all I can think about!!!

We know it’s gonna be quite expensive and there are other things we need to take care of first so we are hoping it can last a few weeks or so!! December is the slowest month of all for everyone in my profession so this is gonna be tough.

Yesterday, we went out to eat at Jason’s Deli since we have to limit our driving distances for now and it’s right by the Target we needed to go to.

At Jason’s Deli, I had the worst salmon salad ever… but, a tasty, hot cup of beef stew. Boyfriend got some sort of cheesy, ranch chicken sandwich with potato chips and a cup of the Maine Lobster Chowder with a trip to the salad bar (not pictured above).

After we ate, we went to Target. We got our espressos from the in-store Starbucks before shopping around.

When we came home from all that, I wrote my blog post and then, got ready for work. We stopped for one drink together before I went in and I had just one more at work. It was one of the slowest Fridays ever…. I wanted to pull all of my hair out from utter frustration.

I left around 2:30 AM. When I got home, I ate some leftover ziti, took a shower, smoked a blunt, and read some of With Love at Christmas before falling asleep.

Today, boyfriend had to give up his shift at work because we don’t feel it’s safe for him to drive so far in the car. For dinner, we just made a quick run to Albertson’s for a rotisserie chicken and some sides to go along with it. We also had to grab some produce to make my dad’s sauce (that weird tomato-filled bowl you see πŸ˜‰ ).

I noticed that romaine lettuce is back in action so I was able to grab a Taylor’s Farms Asian Chopped Salad Kit to mix together and we got some not-so-good Deviled Egg Potato Salad, too.

After we ate, we went to Starbucks for our espressos and to the gas station to fill up on gas and tobacco products…

Now, it’s almost time for me to get ready and go to work again… ugh. I am drrrreading it. 😦 I hate when it’s so slow!!!!!

  1. Aww man – car problems are the worst. That’s a big part of why we finally gave up ours. They always come out of the blue and cost more than you expect them to. I think I was something of a car-hypochondriac after a while. I would hear a strange sound or feel a different sort of vibration and always be on the alert: “Is the car about to die?” Hope the repairs are easier and cheaper than you are expecting.

That sauce looks good. What’s in it? I see tomatoes and green chillies for sure. Fish sauce also? I feel like that would be great with chicken.

    1. Ugh, I wish we had public transportation like you guys do. I would give up our car, too. I am going to be car-hypochondriac, too! Thank you, Todd!

Good eye! It’s made out of fish sauce, tomatoes, thai chili peppers, fresh lime juice, minced garlic, and sugar. It is so great with chicken!! πŸ™‚

  2. I hate cars! I just put new winter tires on my car which, is super old so I get that it has quirks but it’s making a whining noise now. It’s like you can never do enough to keep them in good shape 😐 Good luck, such a pain!!

I’m sorry about your car!! Been there many times. It’s really bad when you are sposed to leave for work and it won’t start. Definitely a big cause of stress. I hope you can get it fixed soon though and that work will pick up for you πŸ˜•

    1. The sandwich and soups were really good. πŸ™‚ Jason’s Deli is pretty decent!! We are so upset & stressed over the car. Thank you so so so much, Steffani! I also got your package this morning, the guy even came to my door instead of leaving it in the office (which they never do). ❀ I love everything so much, the calendar & the donut bath bomb are the cutest. You're packaging of everything was so good, too!! Thank you again, you are the best!! ❀

      1. I don’t think I’ve ever been actually, maybe I will try them out this week.
I hope my little package made you feel a tiny bit better 😊
I can’t take credit for the packaging but I’m glad to hear they took good care of it! Glad you like it! πŸ’œ

        1. I hope Jason’s Deli doesn’t disappoint you if you try it! & your package really did make me feel so much better!! I was squealing at everything I pulled out haha. Whoever packaged it put those Styrofoam peanuts on top so I had to dig in to get everything. It was so fun. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ ❀ ❀

  4. Ooo girl, so sorry about the car!! What a bummer. Car issues really are the worst, I feel for you. And a bad salmon salad too?! Okay you have a better week coming your way for sure. At least you had some bomb leftover ziti at home! The chicken and sides picture looks like it is out of a magazine! Oohhh yum. Hope work went okay. xox

    1. Thank you, Mackenzie!! The car issues are really getting to me. 😦 & that salmon salad was quite terrible lol. You are lying about that chicken photo!! I thought it was so terrible, but I wanted to post our food anyways LOL. πŸ˜› You are too sweet. ❀ ❀

  5. I just had to have my car re-aligned too. At least that one is an easy fix, but that sucks about it leaking fluid. I’ve been lucky enough to avoid that for now.

That food at Jason’s Deli looks so yummy. Too bad the salad was horrible though. I’ve never had a salmon salad before.

    1. Agh, I am hoping that our car just needs a re-alignment but my boyfriend thinks something is bent & needs to be replaced. 😦 Leaks really are the worst because you don’t know where they are coming from. Sometimes it’s a huge fix & sometimes it’s just a small one. We are hoping for two small fixes… but will probably have to do two big ones. 😦

Jason’s Deli is pretty decent! I like it there but, yeah… no salmon salad for me next time lol. I prefer the salmon to be grilled & still a bit warm in a salad but, this time it was super cold and just nasty. πŸ˜›

  6. Oh noooo that sucks about your car!! I swear, car issues are the WORST. I remember that with our old car, feeling like it would be unsafe to drive certain distances and such. Even our new car has gotten a tire pressure warning light lately, ugh. My parents car used to do that with the alignment. I think it’s an easy fix, but does involve taking it in. Maybe Jiffy Lube can do it! Are they in Vegas? They are a bit more affordable than other mechanics. I totally understand your frustration!

    1. I guess my boyfriend feels safe driving it to work now. We fixed ONE thing by ourselves but, it still needs to be brought in for all the other things. We are thinking something was bent and needs to be replaced… I don’t think a simple realignment will do. 😦 But I am still hoping for that to be the case. We do have Jiffy Lube here! We’ll definitely check them out but, I heard they steal out of people’s cars! Lol though it wouldn’t matter because we don’t keep anything valuable in there anyways. πŸ˜›

Ahhh, if the tire pressure light is on, what does that mean? Just a new tire will fix it? Or something worse? I am sorry you are having issues with your car, too!!

      1. Unfortunately sometimes you just gotta cross your fingers and hope everything stays okay because you gotta work lol. I know, that sounds just awful! I’m sooo sorry that you guys have to deal with that! Everything is so expensive for cars too, like why?! Haha well we have always had good experiences with Jiffy Lube. We don’t keep valuable things in the car either, but they’ve never taken anything that we do happen to have in the car. πŸ˜‰ It also depends on location, because there are two here and one seems super sketchy & empty most days, but the other is hopping with business and totally fine. πŸ˜‰ Oh and I like that they don’t charge separately for labor…the price they give you for the service is what you pay. πŸ˜‰

Apparently the warning light means that one or more tires were low on air, which is most commonly caused by the drop in temperatures with the cold weather. BUT when we took it in, they “took care of it” and it came on again a week later. >.< When we took it back, they apologized and did a bunch of tests to make sure there wasn't a leak or puncture and they said it was something with their calibration, whatever that means. Hopefully it's good now, and I guess if it comes on again, we just need to check the tire pressure and fill up whatever tire lost air due to the cold. I'm grateful we don't have to get a new tire! Also very grateful it happened within our 3-month warranty. πŸ™‚

        1. So good to hear that you’ve had good experiences with Jiffy Lube!! & that’s really cool that they don’t charge for labor. Sears charges an arm & a leg for theirs. πŸ˜›

Also so good to hear that you tires are all better now!! ❀

    1. I know! It seems the car always has issues during the colder months. Jason’s Deli is pretty good, I like it, too! πŸ™‚ Are you talking about the little muffin bites at the salad bar?? I love them, too! ❀
