I reactivated my Ipsy account in late November; I was charged for it right away. I got an e-mail saying I was going to get the December bag so, I was confused when I was charged once again when the first of the month hit. I e-mailed them to ask about the double charge and they told me to check my spam (and to add them to my contact book so it wouldn’t happen again, lol). I found an e-mail from them in there saying that they had extra November bags and were sending me one! In their response, they also gave me a tracking number… my bag was only a day away from reaching me!
So my first bag after reactivation was actually the November bag even though I got it in early December.
Let’s get into it!
I loved the bag. It’s simple but, cute. The light is shining on it annoyingly in my photo but, there are little black hearts all over a dark blue background.
Here’s the pointless card they always include in their bags… ^
What Was In My Bag?!
Oribe Hair Care
Dry Texturizing Spray
This texturing formula is not a dry shampoo, but it’s made with patented polymers that soak up excess oils and adds volume, in addition to giving your hair tons of texture.
My Review: My hair is too picky so any and all hair products I receive are going into a giveaway pile.
Full-Size Retail Value: $46.00 (8.5 fl. oz.)
Cream Luminous Lip Gloss in Victoria Plum
It’s long-lasting, buildable, and not the least bit sticky (and won’t catch your hair on those windy days). Victoria Plum is a plummy-mauve shade with red undertones.
My Review: Love this lipgloss. It’s actually really pigmented for a shiny finish. It was more of a dark pink than a “plummy-mauve” though. My lips were dry in the photo but, after wearing this they actually became moisturized and that peeling skin was no longer.
Full-Size Retail Value: $25.00
Prep + Prime Natural Radiance in Radiant Yellow
For a glowy, dewy, lit-from-within look, this primer just might be your new go-to. This multitasker helps control oil, hydrates, smooths and softens skin. Bonus: It leaves a nice, subtle sheen. Try it just before foundation–it goes on evenly and it lasts…and lasts.
My Review: We all know MAC products are fail-proof. When will they stop selling in China?! 😦 This primer is so lightweight and moisturizing. It sunk into my skin right away and all of my makeup products went on extremely smoothly over it. It left me with no creases, pores, or uneveness anywhere.
Full-Size Retail Value: $42.00 (1.7 fl. oz.)
Illuminating Highlighter in Midnight Sun
The reflective, golden champagne shade is inspired by the “midnight sun” in Sweden–it literally doesn’t set all summer. And neither will your long-lasting glow. The finely-milled formula is blendable and buildable–one swipe made us subtly sunkissed, a few more and our skin was luminous. A gorg highlighter, it works double time on our eyelids, too.
My Review: I have never gotten such a tiny highlighter sample. It is the size of an eyeshadow pan… but, it is pretty and it felt nice and soft on the surface. I haven’t tried it on my cheeks or eyes yet.
Full-Size Retail Value: $17.00
Make Up For Ever
Ultra HD Liquid Foundation in Y445
Your search for a natural-looking foundation is over–it evens out your complexion without looking too cakey or heavy. Customize your coverage: This medium-to-full coverage formula is super lightweight, breathable, and buildable. The natural, dewy finish looks amazing in any lighting sitch.
My Review: I am not a fan of Make Up For Ever. The shade I received was a bit too dark for me and it felt really thick and heavy on my skin. The formula was more runny than I prefer, too.
Full-Size Retail Value: $24.00 (15 mL)
