Hey guys, I’m a little depressed today because I broke my thumb nail last night. I super-glued it together and am hoping and praying that it will not break. It’s gonna be so painful, if it does. Plus, I’ll have to cut all of my other nails to match the length and wait for them all to grow out again. 😦

Yesterday, boyfriend and I went to Greens & Proteins for dinner. I’m not sure if I’ve shown you this place before. We’ve only been a couple times and it’s been awhile since we went last.

They were serving that same “healthy” soda we saw at Shaq’s Big Chicken so we grabbed a cup to try the other flavors. We weren’t a big fan of the Cherry, the Pineapple Cream Soda was yummy though, and the root beer was good, too. I had a sip of each one, then emptied the cup to try the other ones LOL.

We shared the Mini Ahi Tuna Tostadas– they were freakin’ delicious!! The  sweet spiralized cukes and fresh avocado chunks on the side though… were not.

Boyfriend got the Angus Beef something or other in a spinach wrap. The meat was seasoned exremely well, not greasy at all, and just so so good. He meant to get the taro fries but, ordered the jicamas on accident. They were just served raw and crisp, doused in some sauce. We weren’t expecting that but, it’s not like they were gross or anything.

I got the Chicken & Quinoa Salad. I really liked it but, some parts of it could have used more dressing.

I also ordered the Chicken Lime Soup which came in a much bigger bowl than I thought it was going to. There wasn’t quite enough broth so, the rice at the bottom kind of soaked it all up. It had a nice, simple flavor that we both enjoyed.

On the way out, I grabbed a Carrot Cake Loaf and a Banana Bread Loaf w/ Choco Chips & Walnuts. They also had Blueberry and Pumpkin loaves!!! It was so hard to choose which ones we wanted. They were all made without eggs, milk, cream, and butter, too!!! ❀ We had the Carrot Cake one when we got home and ohhhh my gosh, it was so moist and fluffy. My teeth just sank into the loaf… then, it melted onto my tongue while slightly sticking to the roof of my mouth… I even did one of those eye rolls when I had my first bite, lol.

ANYWAYS, after Greens & Proteins, of course we stopped at Starbucks for our espressos. When we got home, I put together my December Blog Schedule and scheduled it for this morning. I did my makeup quickly and we went to the bar for a drink. Our two favorite bartenders always talk shit about each other to us and it gets kind of annoying. One of ’em gets all snooty when we sit with the other one, too. πŸ˜›

Work was alright… rather slow for a Friday, though. Hopefully tonight will be better. I called boyfriend to pick me up around 3 AM.

Today, we woke up a little later than 3 PM. Boyfriend went to pay rent, rolled a blunt, fed, watered, and cleaned the kids (AKA our 3 cats πŸ˜‰ ) while I showered and got ready for the day. We smoked our blunt and then headed out to a ramen spot in Henderson that wasn’t too far away. We had never been before and are always nervous to try new ramen but, we decided to take the chance tonight.

Like, most ramen spots, it was quite tiny inside. The decor was pretty, though– I loved all of it.

We were sat at the bar seating because all of the tables were full. We didn’t mind at all though!

We each ordered the Michi Bun. It had pork chashu, cukes, spinach and two different sauces inside. Boyfriend loves these Japanese buns but, hates the Vietnamese Baos for some reason. I love ’em both.

We also shared some Pan-Fried Gyoza. They were okay, just not the best we’ve ever had.

Boyfriend got the Crazy Spicy Ramen with corn added. The broth was an interesting, nutty, surprise-kick kind of spice… (if that makes any sense at all). It was a good different.

I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen with corn added, I replaced the pork chashu with chicken chashu and the thin noodles with the thick. The chicken chashu was not for me. I had a couple bites but, ended up just not eating it… I hated it, to be frank. The broth was nice though, it wasn’t too salty at all and it wasn’t too thick, either.

Then, you guessed it, we went to Starbucks for our espressos but, instead of coming straight home with them… we went to Ross for some shopping!!!

I had such a blast!! I think we spent an hour and a half in there yet, I still didn’t get to look through every single thing!! Boyfriend and I both got quite a few clothing pieces, then I got a pair of sneakers, a new wallet, and lots of misc. beauty stuff…. I’ll have to show you it all in a Beauty Buys post or something?? πŸ˜€ Ross is always dangerous for me but, especially during the holiday season. I plan to make one more trip there before the month is over to sort through all the “gift sets” before they disappear though, hehe.

After shopping, we had to go to the water mill to fill up our jugs. We smoked a blunt then, I started typing this. It’s already 9 PM so I better get started on my makeup and hair for work now.

Hope you all have a nice and safe rest of your weekend. ❀

  1. hey, girrrl. I love your header!! Super cute & festive!

Ahhhh those ahi tuna tostadas- YUM. I just bought some ahi tuna because I’ve been craving it. I should try to recreate something like those because they look sooo good. Wait, that’s jicama, not fries?! I didn’t even know you could do that with jicama. Good to know- I love the stuff!

Hahah oh man, those bartenders were not holding back how they felt, huh? I feel like you have the type of personality where people probably feel like they can open up to you right away too.

The ramen place is making my mouth water. The bao bun pictures get me every time. I did a deep dive last night of dim sum places because I am hard core craving some dumplings & bao. Thanks for sharing! Always love reading.

    1. Yayay! Thank you, Mackenzie. πŸ˜€ So glad you like my new festive header!!

The ahi tuna tostadas were sooo good!! They did seem simple enough to whip up at home especially for such a chef like yourself!! πŸ˜‰ I don’t know about those jicama being subbed for fries. They were just like eating plain jicama on the side…??

They never do!! They talk so much crap about each other to us every time we go in. I love that people feel they can open up to me but, it’s hard when I like them both, y’know?!

Mmm, mm!! If you find a good dim sum places– I can’t wait for the photos!! ❀ ❀

      1. Hearing the two of them going back and forth to you almost sounds like a scene from a sitcom!

And we found place really close and were planning on going but found out they closed PERMANENTLY on December 1st. What are the chances of that? hahah. I . have some spots in the City on my radar though!

  2. Ok I already feel like we have a lot in common but I literally broke my thumb nail at work yesterday too! Lol. If it rips it’s not gonna be pretty πŸ˜’

    1. Whaat!? That’s so crazy that we both broke our thumb nails!! I hope yours hasn’t ripped off!! ❀

Greens & Proteins was really delish!! You would've loved it there. πŸ™‚ & yeah, every time we sit with one or the other, the first thing they say is some crap about the other! It's crazy!

      & I'm so excited I won your giveaway!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ I'm gonna e-mail you my address right now. πŸ˜€ ❀

      1. I think I clipped it enough that it’ll be ok. πŸ˜’
I need more healthy restaurants around here for sure!
I will send it to you this week since I have an Amazon return to send off too πŸ˜‰

  3. Now I have a craving for ramen..Thanks Hunida. Actually, having a craving for Ramen isn’t too bad anymore. Toronto used to be a wasteland for Japanese restaurants–lots of sushi places, but nothing else. Now we’ve got lots of ramen places and Tonkatsu places. We’ve even got a few Izakaya.
Sadly, the one place that tried to fuse Tapas and Japanese food closed. Bad location, I guess.

  4. Oh no! I am sorry about your nail. Hope it’ll grow out fast! Your dinner looks delicious. I like the mini ahi tuna tostadas. The quinoa salad looks delicious – big plus that it is on the healthier side too. YUM! those loaves look delicious. I am such a sucker for ramen. Glad you enjoyed your time out!!

    1. I am so hoping that my nails will grow out fast, too! I am devastated about them. 😦 The ahi tuna tostadas & quinoa salad were both delish!! & the loaves were even better!! ❀ Ramen is a weakness of mine, too!! ❀ Thank you, Nancy!

  5. Hunida, I read your post right before dinner and I’m getting even hungrier hehe!!! πŸ˜‚The carrot cake loaf from Greens & Proteins sounds so yummy, oh my gosh! The chicken & quinoa salad and chicken lime soup both look delicious as well!

Also, I’ve never been to a ramen spot before, but I really really want to go. There’s a ramen spot not too far from my place that sounds absolutely delicious, will have to check it out one of these days!

Girl, I’m exactly the same way with Ross, and I have a Marshalls near my apartment that’s walking distance! It is truly dangerous for my wallet if I spend too much time in there…I feel your plan lmao!

Would love to see a Beauty Buys post!! x

    1. Heheh, sometimes I get hungry all over again when I post the photos, too!! Both the carrot cake & banana walnut loaf were just SO soft & moist. YUM! ❀ I also really enjoyed both the salad & soup!! ❀

You should sooo check out the ramen spot near you!! I'd love to hear all about it. πŸ˜€

Oh my gosh, I can walk to the Ross from my place, too! Everything is so cheap if you buy them separately but when you buy it ALL, the ending amount is not so cheap LOL. Do you have TJ Maxx's over where you live, too??

Beauty Buys post coming up soon!! πŸ˜‰ ❀

      1. Lol I can relate to that sooooo much, Hunida!! And ahhh, now I have a craving for some banana bread!! Hehe I’ll have to run to Starbucks tomorrow before work πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Although, I can imagine that their bread won’t be nearly as good as the bread in your pics (no shade to Starbucks though since they are bae πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚)

Definitelyβ€”it adds up eventually!! And yet, I keep going back anyway. Lmao!! major sigh. I have a TJ Maxx near me too (not nearly as close to home as the Marshalls though) I love TJ Maxx just as much haha!

Oooh, yay!! Excited to read your post, dear!! x

        1. Ooh I so agree about Starbucks bakery items. They are basic and not the best, but hey!! You can get the best coffee with it. πŸ™‚

Ahh yes!! Marshalls, TJ’s, & Ross are where it’s at!! ❀ Love that you love those shops as much as I do!! ❀

  6. Oh my gosh, can you just take me to all the restaurants in Las Vegas?! All your food is to die for!!!

I remember going into Ross when I was in San Francisco and omg, I just wanted to buy the entire store. I have no idea how long I’ve spent there as well but it’s so, so dangerous! Even on a regular day so I can’t even imagine the damage I could do during the holidays.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Hahaha absolutely, just let me know when you’re visiting. πŸ˜€ ❀

YES GIRL. Ross is the best store ever. During the holidays, they have all these gift sets all over the store… it's crazy. We only got through half the things lol.

      Liked by 1 person

        1. Ross is seriously amazing. ❀ I went back there but, I only grabbed a few things & they were gifts so I can't post about them! They already brought in a bunch of new things. It's crazy packed with goodies in there. I like Target, too but, it's expensive when you compare it to the deals at Ross!!

  7. That ahi tuna looks incredible!! Ahi tuna tostadas sounds like such a fantastic idea lol. Also, that bao bun has my mouth watering haha. I need to get more ramen soon!! I hope you didn’t have to end up cutting down your gorgeous nails! Did the super glue work?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. The ahi tuna tostadas were really unique but still simple and tasty. πŸ™‚ I would love a plate of them right now lol. The bun & ramen were both alright just because I’ve had better elsewhere, y’know? I hope you get to have some more ramen soon. It’s so nice for the cold weather. ❀ & I DID have to cut down my nails. I'm still crying about it lol. The super glue worked for one night and right when I got home, it popped up again. But at least they didn't painfully break!!

      1. Hopefully! We might get some for Joshua’s birthday next week but I *think* he wants sushi instead lol. Can’t complain about that though!! πŸ˜‰
Oh noooo! That totally sucks that you had to cut your nails! ugh but yes at least it didn’t hurt, nails are the WORST when they rip off!

  8. I love that you guys go eat to new places often, we can’t bring ourselves to do that haha. But at least I convinced alex to try one new thing or place per month. Lol
Anyway, the ramen looks pretty good but even if it looks good, it doesn’t always mean it will be lol. I’ve had ramen from several places but it’s not my fave lol.
Also, I’ve never had Japanese buns, I believed I’ve tried a Vietnamese one too but I hated it, the bread was delicious and kind of sweet, but the sauce inside was so not to my liking lol.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Haha yeah, trying new places is hard because the food can be so disappointing sometimes… & yeah, ramen is always photogenic but, not always yummy lol I know what you mean!

My boyfriend is the opposite. He doesn’t like the sweet breading of it. It’s my favorite part 😭 lol. I think you would like a Japanese bun better, too.
