Journal Entry #177

Hey, guys! I’m going back to work tonight finally. My period has officially ended– minus, the mini unexpected leaks here and there. *eye roll*

Yesterday, we didn’t do much. We both stayed at home all day. I woke up a couple hours earlier than boyfriend and binge-read blogs on my Reader until he woke up.

When he woke up, at nearly 3 PM, we migrated out to the living room and started playing Saint’s Row. We got to the ending mission but, we’re a bit bored of it now so we uninstalled it.

While boyfriend whipped up dinner, I played Costume Quest 2 and got to the ending of that game, as well. πŸ™‚ I finished all the quests and saved Halloween in their little world, lol. It was loads of fun. I downloaded Disneyland Adventures to play next.

During dinner, we watched an episode of Star. I wrote up my book post for Heart Recaptured. Boyfriend heated up the oven for some of those Annie’s Cinnamon Rolls to bake in and he started up a pot of hot black coffee to go with them.

After publishing my post, I watched another episode of Star and painted my nails with the polish Rain Storm by Sinful Colors. It’s a pretty shade I found stashed away– I don’t know where or when I bought it but, the paint chipped already… I was gonna do the top coat today because as you can tell by the texture, I ran out of patience last night lol. I think I’m gonna have to do another layer of color AND a top coat to fix this mess though lol.

When my nails semi-dried… I tried my hand at making some dairy-free rice pudding! Rossy had been telling me to try it so when I saw it at the buffet a couple weeks ago, I knew I had to take a bite!! I couldn’t stop thinking about it ever since.

I already had all of the ingredients in my kitchen and the recipe seemed so simple (it was)!! I’m quite surprised that it turned out as yummy as it did… like, I couldn’t believe I was the one who made it, y’know? I used a recipe I found on the internet; I halved it, replaced the milk with Almond Breeze almond cashew blend milk, replaced the unsalted butter with Earth Balance Original, and I just completely left out the condensed milk! It was sweet enough already anyways. Next time, I might even do a little less cinnamon!

I gobbled up a small bowl of my rice pudding (boyfriend hates the stuff, even if a pro Grandma made it), then we started playing Tomb Raider and were gonna make it a game to play together but, it took way too long for boyfriend to die and every time I got the controller I died right away so I gave up and started reading blogs, lol.

Before bed, we played a little of our adventure game, Max and the Cursed Brotherhood, I think it’s called. In bed, I read With Love at Christmas until I fell asleep.

Today, the opposite happened. Boyfriend woke up a few hours before me. I didn’t get up until past 3 PM. I took a shower right away and then, boyfriend watched me play my Disneyland Adventure game while we smoked a blunt.

After completing a few cute and fun challenges, it was time to eat. We had a lot of leftovers in our fridge so we got rid of them all. πŸ˜‰

I watched the beginning of the Princess Switch on Netflix. I love Vanessa Hudgens and I can’t wait to watch the rest of the film. I am already loving it and am only like 20 min. through lol… but come on, she is a BAKER!! I LOVE IT. ❀

Once we cleaned up our dinner plates, we headed out to Starbucks for our iced espressos! We had just gotten back when I started writing this.

On Tuesday night, after I had published my Journal Entry, I edited my theme a smidge. πŸ˜‰ Check it out and tell me if you love it as much as I do?!

Have a nice weekend, babes!!!

  1. I love the nail colour, but that is exactly what my nails look like whenever I do them myself, seemingly no matter how long I wait they still end up like this. I’m probably applying too much, but still! Very annoying.

  2. The Princess Switch was a cute movie. I liked The Christmas Chronicles better though. Those are the Christmas movies I watched so far that I need to write up my next Recently Watched post about, when I get around to it. lol

  3. Loving the Christmas details on the blog! Very cute!!! I HATE painting my nails like I refuse. With kids? And anxiety? It’s pointless. I can’t seem to find the time to allow them to ACTUALLY dry properly and I get SO frustrated!!! How do
You do so much in one night? Games, cooking from scratch, painting your nails, reading, writing hahaha omg I WISHHHH!! Xoxo!!

    1. Thank you!!! ❀ LOL and okay, so here's the trick with painting your nails: if you get it on your skin– don't fret! You can easily peel it away in the shower the next day so I always paint them the day before so I can peel them before I go anywhere. I never wait for them to dry and they're nearly ALWAYS textured like this BUT no one else can tell unless they look up close anyways. πŸ˜‰

Aww, to be fair, I don't have any kiddos so that's prob how I can do all the leisurely activities on my days off. πŸ™‚

  4. Ok you are motivating me to actually try out some games with the hubs – it sounds like a lot of fun to try these different games together! Your nails look MAGNIFICENT. lovin’ that color. Still can’t believe those are real.. actual goals.

Haha I am a big fan of rice pudding too- that looks delicious!! (and pshhhh, I’m pretty sure my man would feel the same way- must be a guy thing, but they are missing out!!).

    1. Hehe, you should!! πŸ™‚ We both have always loved video games as kiddos & do have so much fun. Does DJ have an XBOX or PlayStation?!

& gosh, you are too sweet!! Thank you!! My thumb nail broke last night & I have it superglued now though so I may have to cut them all down if it breaks. 😦 😦

Rice pudding is SO yummy!!! Too bad if they don’t like it– more for us, right?! πŸ˜€

      1. Yes!! We have a Playstation! What are some easy starter games you recommend?

And ohh noooo. I hope it holds up. You could always get those fake press ons from the drugstore & pain it the same color as the rest of your nails- they work pretty well!

        Hahah trueee. Love your thinking!

        1. It depends on what kind of games you’re looking to play!? & I’m not sure if we have the same game options for both consoles?!

I just cut them all down today because I was sick of being worried about my thumb nail. 😦 I am pretty upset!!

          1. ohhh that makes sense! I’m sure DJ will know. We have a couple weeks later in December pretty free- I need to see if there is something we try then!

Aw, well they will grow back in no time! πŸ™‚ xo

    1. We play it on the XBOX One S. πŸ™‚ We got a deal to play the games for free for 3 months and afterwards, only $9.99 a month!!

Do you like rice pudding, too?! It’s so yummy, right?! πŸ˜€ ❀

  5. We just watched The Princess Switch too! It was super cute. We’ve been watching quite a few of those on Netflix because you know those cheesy Christmas movies are the best! The only one I haven’t liked was a wedding planner one because the ending was soooo abrupt and unrealistic even for a cheesy romance Christmas movie haha.
That rice pudding looks amazing girl!! Good job!! I’m so impressed, especially with you making it dairy free. Delicious!

    1. I loved The Princess Switch, too. πŸ˜€ It was super cute!! I am loving all the cheesy Christmas films, too. Do you remember the name of the wedding planner one? Lol, so I can make sure not to watch it! πŸ˜‰

Thank you, Courtney!! The rice pudding really did turn out so good!! Now I want to make it again!! ❀

      1. It’s called “Christmas Wedding Planner” lol. These two are like fighting the whole movie without any chemistry at all, and then at the end, when a wedding is crashed, he literally proposes and they get married right then. Like, they weren’t even dating or anything?! So weird haha.

  6. Love that nail polish color, I’ve always wanted to try that color. Can never find a good one that’s CF 😰 they’re hard to find lol
Anyway, I love that you tried the rice pudding, I have been wanting to make it for several weeks and even more after you and I talked about it a while back lol. I just haven’t had the chance and my priorities are elsewhere this week, I haven’t even made proper dinner meals this week lmao. Anyway, I’ll be trying a dairy free recipe as well, wish me luck lol.

    1. You should try ORLY!! They are cruelty free & have tons of colors. πŸ™‚ I have a darker blue by them but I bet they have this slate blue, too. I painted my nails after seeing those impress ones you bought–they inspired me a bit. πŸ™‚

I bet your rice pudding will turn out even more wonderful than mine did & you won’t even be able to tell it’s dairy-free. ❀

            1. Really?! I’d be surprised if Fred Meyer doesn’t have it!! But you know how you start seeing stuff only AFTER someone mentions it?? Lol maybe that will happen with the ORLY nail polish. πŸ™‚
