Hiya guys! πŸ™‚

Yesterday, was the best day ever. We woke up around 2 PM and I jumped out of bed knowing we needed to get to our buffet of choice ASAP. We were going to go to the Bellagio but, I just knew the lines there would be horrendous since dinner started there at 10 AM and of course, it is one of the top busiest casinos on The Strip. Plus, we want to check that buffet out on a non-holiday to see all of its normal offerings.

The Bayside Buffet at the Mandalay Bay Casino had dinner starting at 4:30 PM so we felt like we still had a chance to get there before everyone else. When we arrived at around 4 PM, the line was already quite long and they weren’t seating anyone until exactly the thirty minute mark.

We were lucky to have paid and sat down at exactly 4:30 PM and the wait in line was only a chapter long of Heart Recaptured (around 20 minutes or less). We were part of the first group of guests to be seated so I was proud of our timing. πŸ™‚ The line was way beyond outrageous when we walked out.

Inside, the dining area was just breathtaking.

They had all of the Thanksgiving favorites except Green Bean Casserole which I am still a little sour about missing out on lol. I had a huge variety of food though.

Here’s my “Thanksgiving” plate:

I had duck, prime rib, and turkey for my meats. Boyfriend had their ham, too. It was all top-notch, high-quality stuff! So so so delicious.

That pumpkin bread/cake (pictured above) was the most moist and fluffy treat ever. I squealed with intense pleasure when I took my first bite!! Seriously.

We ended with all the desserts and some hot black coffee:

I liked every single thing I tried except the bread pudding, it tasted too egg-y… if that makes sense. πŸ˜› Boyfriend always jokes that I like “old lady desserts” the best lol. For example: the pastries, bread pudding, and coffee cake… and at the buffet we went to a few days before… I was loving the rice pudding! I had never tried it before but, I want to learn how to make a dairy-free version at home now.

We rushed out of there when we were done sipping on our coffees and picking at our sweets. We stopped at Target since they had just opened at 5 PM. I thought there would be some deals on the “bed-in-a-bags” but, they were all sitting at regular price?? We shoulda went to Macy’s!! We found NOTHING that was worth the wait in line to checkout so we just headed home.

I wrote my blog post, sharpened, and resized the photos for my blog post tomorrow then, sat down to play some Saint’s Row with boyfriend until around 3 AM. He went to take a shower and I played a bit of this little boy named Max game, I forget what it’s called but, it’s a fun, puzzle, action-adventure game. When boyfriend got out of the shower, he tried his hand at this part I was having trouble with lol, then we finally went to the room for our last blunt of the night. I only had an hour left in Heart Recaptured so I stayed up after boyfriend fell asleep to finish the book.

The last I looked at the time, it was around 4:30 AM…

I woke up at 3 PM today!! Boyfriend worked the day shift, he left around 10 AM and got home at almost 5 PM. I was hopping in the shower right when he walked through the doors.

We decided to get Chipotle. I didn’t know about the romaine lettuce fiasco so, I was a bit disappointed to have my steak bowl without it but… whatever. It was still good.

We made our routine stop at Starbucks for our espressos and also, had to go into AutoZone for some coolant. Our car has decided to start leaking it… UGH. I am so sad… I hate needing to get the car fixed. We have already had a coolant leak fixed before, too. 😑

My nails are in desperate need of being re-done but, I don’t even know if I’ll get to them tonight. They don’t look so bad in the dark anyways lol.

I’m gonna go do my makeup and hair for work now. I hope you have a good weekend!! ❀

    1. Ooo, I am a sucker for all the chocolate brownies, cakes, and cookies too. ❀ I have such a bad sweet tooth! I wish I could say I don't like desserts too much lol. πŸ˜›

  1. Another member of Team Old Lady Desserts here! Looks like a great way to spend Thanksgiving. I haven’t really done a full on dinner at home since I was on my own as it’s just the three of us and it’s so much work. It’s nice to go out sometimes for it, though. Glad you had a good Thanksgiving!

    1. Hahaha YES!! Team Old Lady Desserts. πŸ˜€ I totally understand that it’d be a lot of work to put together a huge dinner for just three of you and there’d probably be an overwhelming amount of waste, too, huh??

Thank you, Todd, we did have a nice holiday!!! πŸ˜€

  2. Your meal looks yummy. My mom made Thanksgiving dinner here at home, so I didn’t have to go anywhere and got to eat in my pajamas. πŸ˜› Plus, it was delicious! One of the best Thanksgiving meals in a while. Last year, the turkey and stuffing didn’t turn out that great, but this year it turned out perfectly.

I haven’t been to Chipotle in so long (since I have to go out of my way to get there), but I usually get the lettuce on my bowls too. I also love eating salads, and I prefer Romaine lettuce over iceberg lettuce, so hopefully this contamination is under control soon.

    1. My Aunt sent me photos of the food at my dad’s and I totally wish I would have been able to go there instead. 😦 I am so happy to hear you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Britney!!! ❀ ❀

We went to the grocery store today and a lot of the salad mixes were out out of stock still! I wonder when they will get it all under control?!

  3. The entire meal looks delicious! And I know, I usually get prepackaged salads to take to work so I’m sure they won’t be stocked this week due to the recalls and I’m not sure what I’m going to have for lunch! The Chipotle still looks good without it though!

    1. Yeah!! I went to the grocery store and the prepackaged salad section was very bare today. Sad! I wonder why there is so much trouble with the romaine lettuce all the time. 😦

The Chipotle was still good and they were extra generous with the brown rice, fajitas, and steak to make up for lack of lettuce!

  4. Ahhh looks like such a wonderful meal with so many yums! My mouth is watering at the thought of the pumpkin bread. YUMMY. And girl- green bean casserole has always been my fave too- I can’t believe they didn’t have it.

Car troubles are the actual worst! I had a couple this year and was so annoyed going back in over and over.

Oh– I’m sure your definition of nails looking bad is my definition of mine looking good on a good day hahah. xo

    1. I know, I know! I’m still crying about the green bean casserole. 😦 My aunt sent me a picture of hers and I think I let out a real life whimper lol.

I HATE cars. Why can’t they just work properly forever!! Lol

AND my nails really do look terrible. 😦 I still didn’t fix ’em yet!!

  5. That’s a nice meal for thanksgiving. And I’m loving how delicious those desserts look. I wouldn’t call them old lady desserts though, they’re classic and they’re still around for a reason lol.
I would have loved to try that pumpkin bread, my mouth is watering just wondering haha
Sucks you guys are having trouble with the car, though coolant leaks are relatively easy to fix if it’s the tubes. Hopefully it’s not the radiator though it could be if it’s old. I just recently replaced my radiator because it blew lol.
Anyway sounds like a great couple of days, very chill.

    1. Hahaha! Yes, let’s call them “classic desserts” instead of “old lady desserts”! πŸ™‚ I couldn’t remember… was it you who told me to try rice pudding? WELL, I finally got to and I LOVED it. That’s when boyfriend said to me “because you always like old lady desserts” LOL.

I couldn’t believe how soft & moist that pumpkin bread was, I seriously screamed a tiny bit when I first took a bite and maybe after the second and third too lol. I need it again!

Yeah, we are hoping it is just a tube or whatever… 😦 if it’s the radiator, it’s gonna be so expensive! We’ve already replaced two radiators to our two previous cars! I don’t even wanna bring it to the shop, it’s so troublesome!

        1. I am so jealous that you can just easily make rice pudding at home lol! I’ve been looking at some dairy-free recipes and they sound so complicated… but I’m gonna try my hand at it soon… hopefully!

          1. Oh gosh yeah, I’ve been trying to look for one too but it sucks! LOL. At least the way I make it has loads of milk based products and I’m really trying to cut those out.. If I can find a good one I’ll pass it over to you

            1. Okay, I just made a very simple dairy-free version tonight and it turned out really tasty! I just used a regular recipe and replaced the milk with my almond cashew blend milk and used Earth balance “butter” and left out the condensed milk!! I was pretty impressed with myself, to be honest lol. πŸ˜›

              1. That reminds me and I totally forgot to tell you, condensed milk is usually for flavoring, BUT you can use another ingredient, it’s called piloncillo. You can find it in isles of mexican food. Lol. Basically you add it to the milk as its starting to boil so it melts. And you can also add cinnamon sticks to it. Actually, you know what, let me try making it and I’ll share the recipe on here lol. I’ll be sure to not use dairy πŸ˜‰

  6. What a fun way to spend Thanksgiving!! And fantastic timing by the way, that’s so awesome that your wait was only a bit compared to what it could have been! It’s a bummer that they didn’t have green bean casserole though, that’s definitely one of my all-time favorites. πŸ˜‰ Still, it sounded like a great option for Thanksgiving dinner!! I’m shocked that they had duck too!

    1. I know!! I was so, so glad that we didn’t have to wait for dinner as long as some other folks did. I am STILL crying about not getting to have green bean casserole… lol it’s always been one of my faves, too! πŸ™‚ & the duck was good!!!

      Liked by 1 person

        1. Yeah!! I have to find a dairy-free version and see if we can make a smaller batch of the casserole somehow. πŸ™‚ Duck is so good! My grandpa always asks for a whole roasted duck for his birthday that he won’t have to share with anyone LOL.
