Sesame Soy Steak & Veggies

Recipe found on Kitschen Cat
My Rating: 5 out of 5

My Review: Ohhh man, was this plate of food delicious! The flank steak was perfectly cooked and the Sesame Soy marinade tied everything together so nicely. Just looking at the caramelized red onions right now is making my mouth water; they were fantastic and so were all of the other veggies. For our side: brown rice.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 1 1/2 lb flank steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 medium zucchini, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 medium red onion, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • salt and pepper to taste

Potato & Chorizo Tacos

Recipe found on The Splendid Table
My Rating: 3.5 out of 5

My Review: These turned out super greasy but, luckily potatoes and chorizo just automatically taste great together. More veggies mixed in would’ve been nice, too. We topped them with Lisanatti’s The Original Almond in Jalapeno Jack, taco sauce, and fresh salsa. For our side: Zatarain’s Red Beans & Rice.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 1 pound red-skinned or Yukon Gold potatoes
  • Kosher salt
  • 3/4 pound Mexican chorizo, casings removed, if necessary
  • 1 cup finely chopped white onions
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh serrano or jalapeΓ±o chile (including seeds)
  • About 2 teaspoons olive or vegetable oil, if necessary

Barbecue Bacon Wrapped Chicken Tenders

Recipe found on Emily Bites
My Rating: 5 out of 5

My Review: How could anyone go wrong with a trio like barbecue sauce, bacon, and chicken tenders?! The answer is: you couldn’t! These were phenomenal, they honestly couldn’t have been any better. For our side: Daiya’s Deluxe Alfredo Style Cheezy Mac and Alexia’s Sweet Potato Fries.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 8 individual (2 oz each) tenders
  • 8 slices center cut bacon
  • 4 tablespoons barbecue sauce (we used Stubbs Original)
  • 4 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp chili powder

  1. Oh my gosh, everything looks fantastic! If I had to pick one, I don’t know if I could choose between the steak or the chicken. They both look so mouth watering! I love caramelized onions too. (I love onions in general lol)

    1. Both the chicken & the steak were so good. I don’t think I can pick a favorite out of the two, either. Caramelized and grilled onions are my favorite! I also like raw onions but, not as much. My boyfriend eats raw onions like their chips!

      1. Girl whatever! I LOVE your pics!

Haha I can appreciate a good flavor of steak if I have a bite of Dj’s, but I would ALWAYS rather get fish. But I definitely understand why everyone loves it so much! so savory!

  2. Chorizo and potatoes do go great together but i stopped liking chorizo, even the smell makes my head hurt lol. I like longaniza better which is kind of the same thing, but in my opinion, it’s a little less greasy and the smell is not as strong.
Barbecue chicken sounds really good but I’m not sure with the bacon wrapped around it πŸ™ˆ I know you like it, but I feel like now that eating red meat gives me headaches I can’t even imagine it tasting good for some reason lol. Sorrryyyy!!! If Alex ever makes it I’ll give it a try lol

    1. Yeah, chorizo is really greasy!! I think it smells really yummy though. I remember you told me about Longaniza before & then I tried it like right after lol, I don’t see it around as often but it was def delish. πŸ˜€

Lol girl, back off with that talking crap about bacon okay?!

      1. I stopped liking the smell when I got pregnant. It was repulsive πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I think that’s one of the reasons I don’t like it anymore but I tolerate it whenever they make it here lol.
Oh nice did you end up liking it?

Lol I’m not saying anything bad about bacon, I love it but it sucks that I can’t eat it as much anymore 😭😭

        1. I did like the loganiza, it was yummy!! But okay, so I actually tagged you in the post when I went out to eat it. πŸ˜‰ I just checked my blog because I was like pretty sure of it & you commented too… hahaha. ❀

  3. Regarding the greasy chorizo & potatoes..I (of course) did some research, and first the chefs were saying “Drain the chorizo on a paper-lined plate” and to only keep 1 Tblsp of the grease in the pan for the potatoes.

BUT THEN all the EATERS were saying no, no, no you NEED the grease because that’s what flavors the potatoes and adds color.

I’m going with the EATERS and keeping the grease. LOL
