Hey all. πŸ™‚ I’m proud to announce I’m seeing things clearer and my mood is a lot brighter now because I got my period yesterday. Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo! I had woken up with the biggest stomachache, battled on and off again with the toilet from 11 AM all the way until past 5 PM. When the pain finally semi-subsided, we went to the grocery store.

We realized this time why last time everything seemed to be missing. Remember? I was all like “wonder what was going on at Smith’s?” Turns out they’re moving all of their products around; it was the most confusing shopping trip we’ve ever had. We had to run back and forth through the store over and over again because everything wasn’t where it belonged!

When we got home, boyfriend made dinner and our oven BLEW UP. He was simply baking some fries and out of nowhere, the red light heater on the bottom started on fire! He turned the oven off, the fire went out, and the red light heater thing crumbled into little black pieces!!!!

Our fries weren’t even done baking yet! 😑

UGH. Boyfriend went to the office today to see about getting a new oven or something but they were closed? They weren’t supposed to be so we’re a little annoyed but, he’ll def be going back tomorrow. We need a working oven ASAP!!! We had to cut out our side dish for dinner tonight because of it and I bought some cookies I’d like to make!!

Other than that unfortunate event… last night was rather chill. I watched a couple episodes of UnREAL and two horror films before heading into bed. I read a little bit of A Map of Days before falling asleep. Oh and somewhere in the middle of all of that, I had a bubble bath to help soothe my cramps but, I had to get out prematurely because it was so lovely, I couldn’t stop dozing off… lol.

Who ever said that the scent of lavender is relaxing/calming/soothing was not freaking kidding.

Today, all I did was read A Map of Days. I stopped reading only when dinner was ready. After we ate, we went to the dispensary and Starbucks for some frappucinos. We’re trying to get as many Maple Pecan ones as we can before they don’t serve them anymore!

When we got home from that, that’s when I hopped on here. πŸ™‚ I’m excited for tomorrow; to share with you guys the movies I’ve watched recently!!

Have a good night!!

    1. Is it a blessing or a curse to have this life?! I can’t tell, lol. I am so sad about the oven. I was already picking up my cats, ready to book it out the door! I’m so glad the fire went out as quickly as it did, too! πŸ™‚ Thanks, Sarah!

    1. Hahaha, I really wanted those dang fries with our dinner. 😑 & I do love cookie dough but I honestly love a warm, freshly baked cookie more!! If I don’t get an oven soon though… those cookies are going down raw lol.

  1. I hate when grocery stores move everything around and then you’re lost trying to find stuff. That’s awful about your oven. Hopefully it will get fixed/replaced soon. I literally never use my oven or stove because I don’t cook. lol Lavender is one of my favorite scents!

    1. It’s seriously crazy! I don’t see their logic in putting the eggs all the way in the back of the store. The oven was so scary! We still haven’t gone to the office about getting it replaced but I hope it’s easy & quick to get a new one. Lavender is delicious!! I just didn’t believe the bottle when it said “soothe & sleep” when I should have lol!

  2. Hahahahaha I shouldn’t laugh but I don’t think an exploding oven would happen to anyone else! Think of the lovely new one that you will get though. I’m gonna go to starbz now and get a maple pecan… not tried one yet!

    1. LOL UGH WHY ME, ABBY?!?? I sure do hope they give us a brand shiny new one though… but I have a feeling they may just replace the thing that blew up??

Did you like the Maple pecan?? I had to hold myself back from buying another one today lol.

    1. We were terrified about the oven but so glad it wasn’t a bigger fire! & the store looks so different, ugh. Next time we go it’s gonna feel like the first time!

  3. Oh man – we had the same thing happen with our oven a while back. In our case some cheese had dripped on to the heating element and that was enough for it to get hot in that one spot and that seemed to be what triggered it. The nice thing is that those elements are usually replaceable. They should be able to pop the old one out, put in a new one and get you on your way.

    1. Oh my gosh, Todd. This is the best news, ever!! We still haven’t talked to our maintenance man but I really hope it’s as easy as popping in a new heating element. Also, relieved to hear that this has happened to someone else, too!!! It was so scary!!!

  4. Ugh, I couldn’t deal with those monthly pains again.
That’s the main reason I take the pill.
But back in time when I didn’t, people would call the ambulance if I ended up in that pain. But it was really extreme in my case with hyperventilation and fainting.

The one thing that did help a little was when I started taking iron pills. Every day 1 or 2.
I am a vegetarian so my iron level is anyhow lower. But maybe something for you to look into?

One tiny side effect of iron is that your number 2 will turn extremely dark, black even.
That’s just what Iron does so don’t panic like I did, hahah.

    1. Oh my gosh!! That sounds horrible. I’m glad to hear the pill worked out for you & you no longer have to go through the pains!! Mine aren’t that bad, really just two Midol & a hot bubble bath make them go away!! I will also take a look into Iron pills though! Thanks for the rec & the warning lol ;)! ❀ ❀

  5. How the hell does an oven explode?? lol I hope you guys get a better one! Also a bubble bath sounds amazing – you’ve inspired me to do one – usually I just have showers which I love but I’ve been watching a lot of those Instagram videos of those bubble bath balls disintegrating and they are mesmerising – and lavender …mmmm.

    1. Girl, I don’t know. The heater on the bottom just started on fire! It was scary!! I hope we get a better one, too lol.

Ahh… bubble baths are amazing. Even if you don’t have a bath ball, you can just put some body wash in there to make bubbles. πŸ™‚

  6. Oh my gosh, I’m glad you all weren’t hurt and hopefully you get a new oven soon! That’s very unfortunate about the fries, I hope you got some elsewhere and they were twice as yummy to make up for it! I didn’t even think about the maple pecan flavor coming back! I actually liked that holiday flavor. I’ll have to go get one soon! :0

    1. Thank you, Stephanie!! We actually just skipped out on the fries & had bread on the side instead. 😦 I don’t know how long they’ll have the Maple Pecan but yes!! Get ’em while they last. ❀

  7. My oven has done that before and it’s a crazy feeling! My fiancΓ© was making something and when it happened, my first thought was “oh fuck, we burned down the building” Haha! We don’t have a fire extinguisher and you can just throw water on an electrical fire. I put that shit out though and they had to replace the conductor or whatever. Glad you’re both safe, Hunida!

    1. LOL YES! A crazy feeling, indeed. I thought we had burned the building down, too! We don’t have a fire extinguisher either!! We just turned the oven off & luckily the fire went out on its own… whew!! Thank you, Trey!! I am so grateful that we & the cats are safe. πŸ™‚

  8. That is one of my biggest fears with the oven!!! How scary!!! Whenever our pans reshape it makes the loudest noise- I can’t imagine how terrifying it was to actually blow up?! Were they able to offer you a new one?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I hate when the pans reshape, too!!! I always freak out & look inside lol. One time my friend’s glass baking dish blew up in the oven, too… so that’s always a fear as well!!!

We still haven’t gone in about a new oven because boyfriend’s been working & I don’t wanna be in the apartment alone with the maintenance man LOL.

  9. Holy shit how fucking scary that it exploded but I’m glad everything is fine. that sucks that the people weren’t in the office. That always seems to happen when you need those people the most.

    1. It was so terrifying!! I had no idea that could happen!! & it sucks that they weren’t in the office the one time we were on the ball now we have been procrastinating to go back& still have a broken oven! UGH lol.

  10. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe your oven caught fire!! I’m so glad the fire went out right away but still, that’s so scary!! I hope they can replace it for you soon and not like blame you or anything lol. It really is so annoying when the office is closed for the day without notice. That used to happen at our old office all the time and it was the most annoying because they didn’t have a parcel locker so we often couldn’t get our packages for days.

    1. It was sooo scary & bright!! I’m glad it went out right away, too. I don’t think there’s any way they can blame us– well, they better not lol, we were just baking some fries!! & our office is like that!! They are always closed randomly & we don’t have a parcel locker either!
