Influenster VoxBox | Staycation

Hey, all! I have to be honest with you, I got this box quite awhile ago and haven’t tried one single product I was given. I doubt I’ll ever get another box from Influenster again because of this but… oh well. I still wanted to show you what I got this time around!!

**P.S. I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.**

You have no idea how excited I was when I found out I was going to get this VoxBox!! I had never received a variety box before!! 😀

On the back of the postcard that says “Staycation VoxBox”, there is a description for each item included. The one with the girl is a (probably expired) coupon for an Eva NYC product.

What Was In The Box?!

Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer

Influenster Says:

Simplify your styling routine with one miracle potion using the Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer. Infused with Argan Oil and Sunflower Seed Oil to give your hair its daily dose of vitamins and nutrients, this multitasking formula does it all: detangles, reduces frizz, strengthens, softens, cuts drying time, adds shine, nourishes, smooths, and protects against thermal and UV damage. With 10 benefits in one spray, you’ll save precious time AND vanity space.

Retail Value: $11.99 (6 fl oz)

My First Impression: As you can tell, this was broken when I received it and it was leaking. Thankfully, it was in a ziploc bag (so they were expecting this?). I never took it out, I just threw it away but, it sure smelled nice.

completely bare®
completely SMOOTH Moisturizing No-Bump Shave Gel

Influenster Says:

completely SMOOTH not only gives you an incredibly close shave, but also helps keep ingrown hairs and bumps at bay.

Retail Value: $4.99 (2 fl oz)

My First Impression: I always shave raw and I do often get ingrown hairs and bumps so, I’m really excited to try this, the problem is, I keep forgetting to!

imPRESS Press-On Manicure

Influenster Says:

Achieve a one-step gel manicure in minutes with imPRESS Press-On Manicure Glue Free, Chip Proof, No Dry Time. Just Press On & Go!

Retail Value: $7.99

My First Impression: So cute!!! I don’t trust that they wouldn’t fall off at work though…

GUM & Enamel & Repair Toothpaste

Influenster Says:

Healthier teeth start at the gum line. New Crest GUM & Enamel Repair helps repair weakened enamel and reverse gingivitis.

Retail Value: $6.99 (full-size)

My First Impression: Cool! I’m interested in trying any toothpaste! Can’t wait to give this one a whirl.

SheaMoisture African Black Soap Bamboo Charcoal Gelee Moisturizer

Influenster Says:

This oil-free gel moisturizer transforms from gray to clear to provide ultra-light hydration for blemish-prone skin. With fan-favorite ingredients African Black Soap and Bamboo Charcoal, our refreshing formula dries invisibly while quenching your skin’s thirst to moisturize and balance oily, blemish-prone skin.

My First Impression: My mom told me good things about African Black Soap– I haven’t tried anything with the ingredient yet and even though I really want to, I don’t think I will try it in this particular product. I don’t have blemish-prone skin and I’ve purchased another product by SheaMoisture that I absolutely hated so I do not trust them.

Which product would you be most excited to try? Have you already tried any of them? Are you part of the Influenster program?

  1. I used to have to shave without a gel or anything as my skin is super sensitive but I’ve found a body scrub from The Body Shop that isn’t too harsh and now I use that 🙂 hope the shave gel works well for you! The nail concept sounds cool and if you use them I’d be interested to hear how you get on and if they do stay on or not 😛

    1. Ooh what’s the scrub you use from TBS called? I need to do a huge haul from that place someday, I’ve never tried anything but all of their stuff sounds so, so amazing! I’ll let you know how that gel & the nails go when I try them! 😀

  2. It’s too bad the Mane Magic was broken, that stuff is amazing. I don’t use it on my short hair but it made my long hair so soft. Definitely recommend if you get another opportunity to try it 😘

    1. Yeah so glad you agree, SheaMoisture is not for me. 😛 Have you ever tried anything with African Black Soap in it? I’m super curious but, prob not gonna use this gel stuff. I might try the nails though!! ❤

    1. I’m excited to try both!! I keep forgetting to bring them in the shower with me though lol. I feel sad that I probably won’t get another box but, I just don’t want to/can’t use all these products!

  3. Ooooo that African black soap looks really interesting – let me know how you get on with that!!! I love a gel moisturiser x

  4. Aww that’s a bummer that you don’t like Shea Moisture’s products! I’ve always really loved their face masks, and that’s probably the only product in the box I would’ve been excited about lol. Totally sucks about the hair product leaking ☹️

    1. Oh really?! I’ve only tried their lotion and soap before. Maybe if their face masks are good, this moisturizer might be nice?I might have to give it a try!

I was sad about the hair product leaking but I was really happy that it didn’t ruin all of the other stuff. 😀

  5. I loooove those imPress nails!! I wore them for our anniversary and they lasted like two weeks. I had to end up peeling them off myself since they never popped off on their own. I saw tips for gently roughening up your nails with a file first and it probably is what helped a lot. Combined with the antiseptic wipe and pressing them down firmly for like a minute each, they should hold up super well. 🙂

  6. This looks like a nice box. I never go to get my nails done because I would always feel awkward when I had them done previously. Plus, it’s way too expensive. I would rather spend my money on food/ordering delivery than getting my nails done. I would totally wear press-on nails though for that reason, but unfortunately they just don’t stay put (in my experience), and at work I’m always breaking my own nails and stuff, so I’m sure it wouldn’t be good.

Also, I’m finally getting another VoxBox! I know I told you I didn’t think I got accepted after the pre-survey because I never heard anything back. Finally, like two weeks after that, I just found out I’m getting another box finally. It’s a skincare one.

    1. Yeah! I hated going to nail artists that were chatty, they gave me so much anxiety. My nail lady that I had been going to before I quit going hated talking more than I did lol, she was perfect. 😛 & yeah, it’s def way too expensive! & really bad for your nails. I would totally rather spend my money on food, too!!

I’ve had the same experience with press-on nails but, I have to be honest I haven’t used them since I was in grade school sooo… I’m hearing that they’ve come a long way since then? & Courtney said there’s like a special technique to applying them to make them stay on longer, too, I guess?? We’ll have to see how they turn out!!

YAY!! So excited to see what you get in your next VoxBox! I’m prob never getting another again. 😦

  7. That’s such a shame about the Eva NYC product. I have gotten that in one of my past boxes and I love it (I’m nearly out of mine). Also, I have had such an annoying time with the app not working right and not giving me the points I am trying to get for my posts and such for the past two boxes I’ve gotten. I’m thinking I’m kind of over Influenster for a bit because of it and since I was only able to complete one or two items for the badges this time around and not enough to earn them (because of the app!) then I don’t think they’ll pick me again anyway.

    1. Ahh! I’m so sad! We have the same hair so I know that would’ve worked for me now. 😦 I wish it hadn’t broken!

I hate when the app acts up!! They made me reconnect all my socials one time & I had to rewrite all of my reviews on their app because they wouldn’t go through once before. I have heard that people still get selected after not doing the badges but, ugh it just makes me lose motivation when I can’t get them all, y’know?!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Yes!!! It’s kind of like, if it’s so hard to get the badge then what’s the point! And because mine are like take a screenshot of the post you made and upload it – well then I already did the work and still can’t get the credit?? It’s so frustrating!

            1. Seriously!! That was way too many products for me. I felt sad because they invited me for another one a couple days ago but I knew I wouldn’t get it because I didn’t do the survey for this one. 😦

  8. Never heard of this box! I’ve been subscribed to Boxy Charm for the last 6 months and I LOVE AND USE 98% of every single full sized item I’ve ever received AND plan on ordering several seconds! It’s AH-MAZING!!!!!!! Have you tried?! Super highly recommend!

    1. Influenster is actually a free box!! You just have to write reviews & fill out surveys about the products they send you on the app & in e-mails. 🙂 I follow a few bloggers who share their Boxycharm unboxings every month & they always look so good! I’ve tried the Lola Box for 3 months which is the sister box to Boxy but, I’ve always wanted to give Boxy a try still! Maybe I’ll sign up for it someday. 🙂

  9. I just joined influnster and have gotten a level three badge. I completed a badge and I’m wondering what the chances are of getting a voxbox is? I love leaving reviews and answering questions about products its loads of fun. I subscribe to other boxes but I pay for them. Have you tried beautyfix? I love this box for the skin care they send I also have an obsession with boxycharm! Those two boxes are always worth the money.

    1. Hey there! Keep doin’ those reviews and Snap Surveys! You should get invited to do a pre-survey for an upcoming VoxBox in no time. 🙂

I’ve never tried BeautyFix but, I’ll def check it out now! I just started receiving Boxycharm in November! I love it so much. 😀
