Happy Friday, friends!
Yesterday, boyfriend had to go to work. I tried making this weirdo vegan meal I got from My Vegan Cuts snack box:
It turned out better than I thought it would but the the soy “meat” pieces were a bit disturbing to me after a couple bites because of the weird bouncy texture… no matter how well the seasonings made it taste exactly like steak, I couldn’t continue eating it.
I ended up just heating up some leftovers and happily ate that in front of the first episode of The Good Place Season 03. I removed my old nail polish, filed my nails, and painted them all with a base coat but, felt it was getting too late to apply color.
Boyfriend got home as I was waiting for the base to dry. I watched a couple episodes of Atypical Season 02 and was so absorbed, I almost stayed home from work to watch more but, knew that would have been an irresponsible decision lol. I did my makeup after we smoked a blunt together.
Before he dropped me off at work, we went to the Hustler Hollywood store because I wanted to buy some thigh-high socks since I hadn’t painted my toe nails. 😉 While I was shopping around, these two women (I think they were a couple) stole a dildo!!! The lady worker in high heels ran after them shouting, “we have cameras and your license plate number! We’re calling the police!” and the rest of the employees ran out after them, too but, the couple was able to get away, I guess! They left their car running in the parking lot so, they had def planned their shenanigans before they walked in.
I got to work around midnight, it was a steady crowd that died down quickly. I left at almost 3 AM and am really hoping for a busy night tonight!!
Today, boyfriend had the day off so we went out to eat. I saw this new Vietnamese restaurant opened up in Chinatown called Co Anh on Yelp.
It was small but, cute and very new-looking:
For our appetizer, we shared a Pork Banh Bao:
I thought the egg inside of it was kind of nasty and hard for some reason but, the rest of it was yum.
Boyfriend ordered the Beef Satay Sauce Noodle Soup or something like that. 😛 It was tasty but, it wasn’t all the way hot (as in temperature) though, I was jealous of the noodles that he had and the flavor of his broth was better, too.
I almost accepted his offer to switch but, his had spiciness in it that I knew I’d regret having later. My self-control was strong but, also, I was quite turned off by the cold parts of the broth I had LOL.
My Beef Stew Soup was alright; it had such wonderful pieces of beef in it but, they went way overboard with the MSG– it was almost all I could taste. The broth wasn’t thick and beefy like I prefer; it was more of a pho broth, if you ask me… and I hate the little thin noodles (like in the photo above) SO MUCH! Thick noodles are life.
I don’t think we’d return for any of their noodle dishes but, I saw their Banh Mi sandwiches and they have been mentally added on my TO EAT list lol.
After dinner, we went to get our espressos from Starbucks. I used to ask for “less than half a pump of vanilla” in my 4 shots of espresso but, the past few times it has tasted like a whole lot more than that so now, I’m drinking straight espresso over ice like boyfriend does. It’s strong but, much much MUCH better than an overly sweetened drink.
Then, we drove to the dispensary and there was a sale! 😀 Woo-hoo! When we got home, I pretty much hopped on here right away to check my comments and then started typing this.
Hope you all have an awesome weekend!!
