Of course I didn’t end up going to work Thursday night but, we all knew that was gonna happen, right? At least I decided not to go before I put makeup on. πŸ˜› Instead, boyfriend and I went out to eat together at Ramen Sora.

It was pretty packed but, we were lucky to snag one of the last available tables. We hadn’t been here in awhile and it was the first time I saw the little jar of hairbands on the table, lol. They were just little rubber bands that I would never tie my hair back with but, I assume some people wouldn’t mind it. It’s a nice offering anyways, isn’t it?!

We both went with the Miso Ramen and added corn. I had no spice to save myself from the bubble guts while boyfriend got extra spicy and dealt with it the next day, hahah.

When we got home, we sat in front of the TV watching Love Island. We went to bed around 3 AM.

On Friday, we decided to go out to eat somewhere new. I found this place called Sharky’s Modern Mexican Kitchen on a Yelp search for Hot & New Restaurants. The menu sounded fantastic but… it was 30 minutes away. I tried to search for somewhere closer to dine at… still… I could not get Sharky’s out of my mind!

We ended up just making the drive there!! When we walked in, there were menus that you could grab hanging on the wall. It’s an order at the counter type of place which I actually wasn’t expecting!

The inside is really big and spacious. I loved the big windows and all of the light coming in. Like every other new restaurant opening up in the world, they went with a rustic-hipster, farm-y, industrial-type theme. It’s cute but, I’m definitely getting a little sick and tired of the look.

There was an unlimited, serve yourself salsa bar yet you had to buy the chips! After we paid for our order, the cashier said “help yourself to our open salsa bar” and I looked at boyfriend with question marks in my eyes… like “where the hell are the chips?!” LOL. I found us a spot to sit while he went back to order our chips.

There were just so many wonderful options on their menu– it was such a hard decision for me (I know, when is it not, right?) but, boyfriend easily chose what he wanted… the beautiful Baja-Style Shrimp Burrito:

I couldn’t have a bite because it was dairy-filled but, I can tell you that boyfriend had no problem finishing it all on his own!

Anyways, I had my own deliciousness to devour.

I ordered the Fresh Grilled Angus Steak Power Plate with Organic Vegan Mexican Rice and Mashed Organic Yams. The rice was soooo yummy and the steak was perfectly grilled with just the right amount of pink in the middle, no sauce or salt was needed at all. I do wish I would have chosen the grilled veggies or veggie & quinoa mix for my second side instead of the yams though, they were a bit too sweet and I needed some lighter veggies in my life after all the rice and steak.

When we finished up with dinner, we went to a Starbucks for our espressos. When we got home, I wrote up my blog post and then I got ready for work.

Boyfriend and I stopped at Albertson’s so I could buy some snacks for my locker. We also stopped for a couple drinks together before he dropped me off. I was tipsy when I got in but, was smart enough not to drink anymore while I was there. I was at the point where one more would’ve threw me over!

The night kind of passed by in a blur. I mostly hung out with this huge bachelor party the entire time! They were all Cambodian (like me) which made it that much more fun! They couldn’t talk about me because I’d understand them and then, they’d laugh and be like “oh shit… she knows everything we’re saying!” hahhah.

I headed home around 3 AM, I was super exhausted and I still kind of am right now!

Today, we woke up around 1 PM. I wrote up our grocery list, read some blogs on my Reader, and smoked a blunt. Theeen, we went to the grocery store and the dispensary, came home, had dinner, went to Starbucks, the smoke shop, and the ATM, and now here I am.

I should probably go do my makeup and hair soon. I’m hoping tonight is a little busier than last night was for me. I’m definitely not having any alcoholic bevvies!

  1. Oh man – that Mexican food in particular looks amazing. There was a place near where we lived in Albuquerque, a local chain, that was amazing. The freshest tortillas and so many good salsas to choose from at the bar. I miss the food there – I feel like it is one of the greatest food cities of the world. I still dream about the food there to this day.

    1. Really?!! That means a lot coming from a well-traveled man like yourself! I’ve never thought to visit Albuquerque but I’ll go anywhere that has the best food! Def adding it to my travel bucket list now. πŸ˜€

  2. The food looks so good. I wish there was a salsa bar here. It would be really cool if there was a place just solely for chips and dips or nachos. Like an all you can eat nacho buffet, with different types of salsa, guac, queso, meats, veggies and peppers, etc.

  3. That’s so interesting with the rubberbands- but like you said, really thoughtful! Haha. Ooo that combo of the rice and yams sounds really yummy! It is interesting there wasn’t more of a green veggie option though.

Haha- That’s hilarious you understood those clients!

Hope you have a great night, girl! xo

  4. Ah the ramen lol. Looks so freaking delicious. And I can’t believe they only had unlimited salsa haha wtf usually Mexican restaurants have free chips and salsa to eat while you wait for your food but I assume this is no ordinary restaurant.
Also I was a bit confused…. angus steak with VEGAN rice? Did I read that correctly lol.

    1. I KNOW! I hate when they don’t let us have the chips for free… 😑
Lol yeah all of their sides were vegan. Sometimes rice is boiled in chicken broth or tossed in butter but this was made completely vegan so they made it clear, I guess lol.

  5. I have never known a restaurant to offer rubber bands before! That’s such a cute touch! It reminds me of school times, we had to wear our hair tied up for PE and could never use the excuse of β€˜i forgot my hair tie’ because they always supplied rubber bands πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ haha!
That piccie of your boyfriend is just too cute!
And wait!!! Do you speak another language? I was going to say Cambodian but I googled it and it says their language is Khmer!? I don’t want to come across ignorant, but that is so amazing! Xx

    1. I had never seen it before either, I thought it was so nice since I’m always forgetting my hair band when I go out to eat. If only they weren’t tiny rubber bands & I could’ve actually used them. πŸ˜‰

That’s crazy that they made you put your hair up in PE. They made us change into this stupid gym t-shirt & sweatpants or shorts but they never made us put our hair up! That seems cruel! What if you did your hair nicely that day?!

& YES, Cambodian & Khmer are the same language. “Khmer” is how you say “Cambodian” in Khmer lol… does that make sense?! You don’t sound ignorant at all, babes! ❀

      1. Such a nice and thoughtful touch! Haha maybe reccommend they get bigger ones! Still such a great idea though.
Omg don’t even! We had to wear a PE kit too and hair up and trust me that happened… on my birthday! My mum had straightened my hair for me especially for my 13th birthday and we had to do PE, if it wasn’t bad enough I had to tie my hair up they made us do it OUTDOORS whilst it was raining! My hair went so frizzy! I was so upset πŸ˜‚ so glad to be done with school now haha!
Omg amazing! Thank you for telling me that, I wasn’t sure! That makes total sense hun! So you speak Khmer??? Wow 😍

          1. I know. I was so upset. I still have the pictures of me blowing out my candles and I’m smiling but I will always remember that those photos could have been 10x better if my hair was straightened haha.
Oh woweee that’s so amazing Hunida. I had no idea!!!! Wow! I would so love to be bilingual!

    1. I saw they have a ton of locations! There are only 2 here in Vegas and both are 30 minutes away from us. 😦 I was really impressed with their food! Let me know if you ever go back & if they sell you chips or if you get them for free lol.
