Reviewing Some Films I Watched #5

i am not an eaasy

I Am Not An Easy Man (2018)

IMDb Synopsis:

A shameless chauvinist gets a taste of his own medicine when he wakes up in a world dominated by women and locks horns with a powerful female author.

My Review: The concept of this film is genius! It was hilarious watching the “roles” of men and women switched around. The romance part of the film is a little meh. It’s not deep and I didn’t crave it; a run-of-the-mill player-type vs. player-type trope. I was more interested in everything else. I liked the male lead but, wasn’t so much feeling the woman lead. The ending is a huge cliffhanger and I would watch the sequel to find out the answers, for sure.

you get me

You Get Me (2017)

IMDb Synopsis:

Tyler’s crazy in love with his perfect girlfriend Ali, but when a big fight makes him and Ali break up, he lands in the arms of Holly, an out-of-towner who shows him a night he’s gonna remember. The next morning he finds that not only is Ali taking him back, but Holly has transferred to their school and will do anything to reclaim her new man.

My Review: I can’t help but feel I’ve watched this film before… whether it was the exact one or just something REALLY similar. Either way, I don’t think the “psycho stalker” thing could ever get old for me. You may remember Bella Thorne from Disney’s Shake It Up where she played alongside the beautiful, Zendaya. I don’t care about all the hate being spewed about this girl– it doesn’t matter because she can definitely act! She was so believable and creepy. Ali, on the other hand, was so unbelievably bad. I loved Tyler and the fact that he was actually really smart. I liked that it wasn’t the entire group of friends who were dumb and blind to her evilness. I found myself screaming “OH MY GOSH, she is NUTS!” over and over. There was so much suspense from beginning to end. The twists and turns were plenty and I enjoyed the side story with the step-mom, it was wow! I liked the ending, too, especially the ambulance scene.

The Fundamentals of Caring (2016)

IMDb Synopsis:

A man suffering an incredible amount of loss enrolls in a class about care-giving that changes his perspective on life.

My Review: I was laughing until the very end watching this film; it was absolutely hilarious! I found myself near to tears plenty of times from all of the laughter. Some of the jokes were a bit “dark” but, always tasteful. I enjoyed the road trip theme and scenic views; it was all so beautiful. The romance was sweet but, fleeting. Everything was tied up nicely in the end and I love how everything played out. The plot was simple yet, deep and I seriously clapped when it was over– yes, it’s that much of a “feel-good film.”

  1. One of the novels I have up on Amazon is about a knight turned mercenary who returns to his homeland to save his former lover from a dragon attack, which I’m mentioning because his homeland is basically a high fantasy if all the priests and paladins were women and women nobility own all the land.

  2. Yesterday, for the first time in a long time, I watched a movie again.
I think “You get me” was the last one I watched, haha.
It was OK, but I didn’t find the acting very impressive.

I now started Atypical (Series). I wanted to save for a flight I am taking later this week, but I am already at episode 5 out of 10. OOOPS haha

    1. I thought some of the actors and actresses were better than the others in the film! But, it was a suspenseful film that kept me interested the whole time, for sure!

I loved Atypical. ❤ I think I watched it all in 2 days hahah.

  3. I loved The Fundamentals of Caring! And since you liked that one, you’d probably also like Me Before You. It has a similar premise where one of the main characters is wheelchair bound, but it’s more of a love story. I enjoyed it. 🙂

    1. Honestly, I’m not a fan of the wheelchair premise because it always makes me too sad but, I was sucked into TFOC after Netflix autoplayed it and same with Me Before You!!! I cried like a baby during Me Before You. 😦

  4. Oooh yay they’re all on Netflix haha
I’ve been wanting to watch the fundamentals of caring for a while but I always end up putting something else. I’m glad you liked it, I might like it too. Especially because Paul Tudd is in it lol
