I was not a fan of the cheap material this month’s bag was made out of. My boyfriend was even like “is that your Ipsy one? Aren’t the bags usually a lot nicer than that?” when I pulled it out.

I can not say it enough how pointless I think these cards are… just stop with them already.

What Was In My Bag?!

Kaleido Cosmetics
Skin Blush in Primadonna

Ipsy’s Description:

This buildable blush formula is awesome for creating any look, from a subtle flush or a full glow up (and everything in between).

My Review: The box this blush came in was so cute. The side of it had a groovy, purpley, psychedelic pattern on it. The little compact itself is very tough to open but, I am able to do it without breaking a nail. πŸ˜‰ I love the shimmery effect of this blush and it truly is buildable. It is pigmented and easy to make darker or lighter with a little blending. Love the shade I got.

AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

Ipsy’s Description:

This cleanser will give your skin life after months of exposure to summer sun, salt water, heat, and humidity. Salicylic acid is a BHA that penetrates deep into your pores to clear out excess sebum, dirt, and other icky stuff. Bonus: It’s also a great acne fighter. It’ll brighten up your complexion, even things out, and help your skin retain moisture.

My Review: The little beads in this cleanser were so fun! They weren’t visible at all but, you could totally feel them. There wasn’t really a scent but, if you sniff it closely– it almost smells like Cortizone. My face wasn’t uncomfortable with that tight feeling after using it but, when I touched my fingers to my skin, I could feel the dryness it caused. I won’t be continuing use because I reeeeeally don’t need anything that dries my already dry skin out. I don’t think this is bad though, I bet it would work nicely for someone else.

Laritzy Cosmetics
Lipstix in Plum

Ipsy’s Description:

The hydrating, lightweight formula glides on gorgeously with the prettiest satin finish we’ve ever seen.

My Review: I looked this product up and I guess this Lipstix is only available in one shade… but, oh what a pretty one it is! Unfortunately, lining my lips was the hardest thing ever. When I got out of the lines it was not easily wiped away with a finger and kept mixing in with my concealer. After it dried, my lips did, too, so I topped it with Carmex, I was surprised to see that it didn’t smear the color out of my lip lines. It does transfer but, not a lot. It doesn’t stay super pigmented all night but, my lips were definitely not normal colored at the end of it.

False Lashes Mascara in Extreme Black

Ipsy’s Description:

This mousse-like, thickening formula fattens up lashes instantly for a fluttery, feathery effect. It’s flake-proof, smudge-proof, and long-wearing.

My Review: I already received this sample in my February Birchbox! You can read my review on it: here. AND YOU CAN JOIN MY GIVEAWAY: HERE, TO TRY IT YOURSELF!

Answer From
Black Volume Gold Radiance Cream with Blackberry Extracts

Ipsy’s Description:

We’re more than a little obsessed with this gel-like texture of this cream, which melts into your skin without feeling heavy or greasy. The formula is full of antioxidant-loaded blackberry extract (to help brighten up your complexion), and gold pearl (to firm, prevent fine lines, and add radiance).

My Review: I am a huuuuge fan of these gel-like textured moisturizers but, let’s get some better ones out there… this one does dry into your face without leaving a heavy or greasy feeling but, it is SUPER sticky. I tried to pat the product in but, it felt like I was pulling tiny pieces of my skin off since it kept sticking to my fingers! My hands needed a thorough wash after application, too. Once I was done washing my hands, my face was nice and smooth. I do feel my skin is slightly softer after two days of use but, that’s about the only difference I saw. The scent is super fruity. It smells exactly like an old B&BW’s body spray/lotion I used to use as a preteen.

  1. The bag doesn’t look great indeed. Seems pale.
The blush looks really pretty! I must admit I never use blush because my skin gets red easily already. I don’t really want to enhance it, haha.

    1. LOL oh no, it must be the lighting. The bag is actually really bright orange but, it’s just boring and the material is cheap!
I usually never wear blush either! I just feel like it’s too much? Cheeks should blush on their own, like yours! ❀

  2. Your bag looks so much better than mine this month. That blush is so gorgeous on you! I wonder if that moisturizer is sticky because it’s blackberry. I received a watermelon moisturizer and it was sticky also, and I also have a green apple moisturizer that is sticky. All the fruity moisturizers must just be that way.

    1. Will you be posting your bag? I’m curious to see what you got!! You know, I was thinking the same thing! Like, did they crush real blackberries into it & that’s why it’s sticky?! Hahah. You may be onto something, Britney!

    1. I did like most of the products, yay! πŸ™‚ I don’t really care too much about the bags but, it seems like a part of Ipsy so I always mention what I think about it, ya know? πŸ˜›

  3. I’d love to have my own ipsy bag monthly! If only it’s available here! I think the blush looks good on you. I love the buildable ones because I think how much blush you use will depend on how you feel that day. πŸ™‚ I agree that you should stop using that cleanser because if you immediately feel your skin is “stretched” after cleansing it means the cleanser dried out your skin too much. (But you already know this, lol).

Weird questions but what do you do with all the ipsy bags you get per month? I’m assuming you have quite a few now?

    1. Aww, Ipsy really needs to get on their international shipping! I’m sorry you are not able to get it where you are. 😦
I agree about the blush! It’s really nice, thank you for the compliment! ❀ & I will definitely not use that cleanser again!!

Ahh, I use some of them to store samples in but otherwise I just stash them & do nothing with them!

        1. I just went on their website, they are kind of like an Etsy shop, I think. It says you have to pre-order because all items are made when they’re ordered only!! 3-4 weeks is def a long time to wait though.
