Journal Entry #131

Hi guys. πŸ™‚ Tuesday night at work wasn’t the worst. I got there around midnight and left at 3 AM-ish? I was talking with a couple of my co-workers, taking small shots of Grey Goose in the locker room with them… they were all younger than me and made me feel so old, lol. First of all, one of the girls told me my leopard print bra is out of style??? I was like “aw, you’re mean… I really love this bra.” LOL– I’m still going to wear it, I don’t care. They kept trying to figure out my real name and I tried to tell them it was a play off my stage name… it seemed like they believed me?! It’s what I tell my clients, too. πŸ˜‰ They wanted my IG handle, snapchat, etc. etc. I was like “man, I do not have any of those things…” and I really don’t want to be friends with them outside of work anyways.

On Wednesday, I woke up with a visit from my Aunt Flo finally. I hate how she always comes on the weekend. It sucks not being able to work Fridays and Saturdays.

Boyfriend had the day off, too. When we woke up around noon, we smoked a blunt in bed. After a little bit, I asked if he wanted to walk to the Laos Market for a bowl of pho and a side of papaya salad.

My mom was calling me (like she always does) as we were heading out so I video chatted with her for a little bit. She wants me to go work at her donut shop in a boring old town in Arkansas… l o l. She seriously asks me every time I talk to her.

When we got home, I did a little blog clean-up. Deleted some old posts and resized the photos in the posts I decided to keep. It really took FOREVER and I only got through one month. I did end up clearing 3% of media storage space though, so that felt good!

I also decided to try my hand at a little baking.

I made some Tahini & Honey Cookies, I’ll post the recipe as a *bonus* in my upcoming recipe reviews. Some of the cookies are darker because I decided to experiment with the last bit of batter by adding a dollop of crunchy PB– it was the best idea ever.

I was really proud of myself and admit that it was actually kind of fun mixing the batter together! I have another cookie recipe I’m gonna try when we buy more eggs. πŸ™‚

We went into the bedroom around 1 AM after I took a hot, hot bubble bath. I am reading Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda now. I am around halfway through with it already! I can’t wait to get to the end and watch the film!! I also want to watch the film for Everything, Everything.

We didn’t end up falling asleep until almost 4 AM.

Today, we woke up a little past 2 PM. We smoked a blunt before boyfriend had to go out and buy more weed. I read blogs on my Reader and a little bit of Simon. He started cooking dinner around 4 almost 5 PM and I decided to take a shower.

We watched an episode and a half of Santa Clarita Diet. I had a plan for us to go to this VEGAN cinnamon roll place called Cinnaholic.

I was absolutely blown away by this place! I can’t believe how much was offered and every single thing on the menu was vegan… wow wow wow and WOW.

It was SO dang hard to decide what I wanted. You can BYO (build-your-own) cinnamon roll or you can pick out of their huge list of specialty rolls. They also have COOKIE DOUGH scoops, brownies, plain chocolate chip cookies, cinnacakes, and baby buns.

Honestly, I thought I died and was transported to my kind of Heaven. MMM!!!!

I went ahead and made my own with Chai flavored frosting, riiiiich dark choco brownie pieces, and graham crackers! I was NOT disappointed though I do wish my bun could have been warmed up just a teensy bit longer– I know I’m just being picky though! The pretty pink one is boyfriend’s. πŸ˜‰ He chose a specialty one off their list called Raspbery Cheescake. It had Raspberry & Cream Cheese flavored frosting with a raspberry drizzle and graham crackers on top!! OOOHHH YEAAHH!!

You guys, these did not taste vegan AT ALL. I would love to thank the chef who created all of the recipes for this place because I am completely floored. AGAIN, all I can say is: WOW. Best best best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had– I can’t wait go back and try different toppings and frostings!

Of course, I couldn’t just stop at one thing… you guys know how I am by now hahah. I grabbed a plain choco chip cookie too. πŸ˜€ I haven’t ate it yet but, I already know it’s going to melt in my mouth. ❀

When we got home, I hopped on here, checked my notifications, resized the photos for this post, typed this entry and now… who knows what I’ll do! I’m free to do whatever I please until my Aunt decides to go visit someone else’s home.

Happy weekend, all!!

  1. Your cookies looked amazing! I have read both books but Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda is definitely my favourite out of the two. Also could you hop on a plane and bring some of those cinnamon rolls? πŸ˜‹

    1. Aw thank you! I thought they were a little light in color but at least they didn’t taste so bad. πŸ™‚ I liked Everything, Everything so now I’m even more excited to get to the end of Simon.
Haha, I’m on my way! Which country are you located in again?! β™‘

Cinnamon Rolls are my actual favourite thing in the whole world and I’m so jealous there is a shop dedicated to them, we have nothing like that here x

    1. I never knew animal print went out out style!! LOL. I was kind of upset and didn’t wear it that night but I WILL keep wearing it in the future. πŸ˜‰
I’m definitely a tequila with a lime over a vodka girl (for shots) but I’ve never had Sambuca?! I just had to look it up! Hahah, do you take shots of that straight?!
Hahaha yes, she is going to have her own donut shop soon soon soon & she wants me to work in it! She said she has gained tons of lbs eating too many donuts LOL. I’m worried the very same would happen to me!
HAHAHA I’m sorry to have made you hungry!! I was just so proud of how my cookies turned out. πŸ˜€ & yess! It was unbelievable to me that EVERYTHING was vegan at Cinnaholic!! I wish I could take you there!! ❀

        1. Super weird! One day she lived in Houston & the next time she called me from a diff number saying she’s in Arkansas?! Her husband bakes the donuts, he can live where ever he wants lol…

  4. Those cinnamon rolls look bomb! I’m a sucker for a good cinnamon roll… Unfortunately, there aren’t any Cinnaholics near Chicago (yes, I checked). 😭

    1. OOHH NOOO!! Hopefully they open up a store in Chicago soon soon soon. The rolls were phenomenal!!
It’s not vegan & they don’t have cinna rolls or anything but… does Chicago have Insomnia Cookies?!

  5. Super jealous about that vegan spot. I have one here in Memphis, but it’s partly we make 4 desserts vegan and that’s it. Also don’t move to Arkansas, but you already know that πŸ˜… Your mom just misses having you close to her. Maybe you should visit more? Enjoy your day!

    1. Yeah! There are a few places that have vegan options but this is the absolutely only dessert shop I’ve been to that is completely 100% vegan everything! It was awesome. πŸ˜€ Hopefully a Cinnaholic will open up in Memphis in the near future!
I’ve never been to Arkansas but, my mom seems to like it over there?! Lol. I’ll visit her one of these days!!
Have a wonderful weekend, Trey! Thanks so much for commenting! ❀

  6. Wait- I don’t think Leopard print can actually go out of style!! I beg to differ on that one haha.

Aww, that’s seriously so cute and endearing that she tries to get you to work at her donut shop. I’m not sure I see you in a β€œboring old town”, but girl- donuts!! Haha, jk jk.

Oooo those cookies look great! PB and sesame seeds sound like a phenomenal combo (I think those are sesame seeds on top?!)

WHAT- okay this cinnaholic place looks like heaven. WHAAATTTT. I need to add this to my LV list. I am drooling over here. I just turned the computer around to show hubby and we’re both flipping out. Those look sooo good.

    1. I thought the same but I’m not 18 so maybe I am old and out of style?!?
I will work at her donut shop when she can longer run it lol but not right now!!
YES those are sesame seeds! Sadly I ran out though & wasn’t able to top the PB ones with it hahaha.
I looked up Cinnaholic in Cali & there is one in DT Berkeley and one in San Jose if those are nearer to you that LV!!

  7. Maybe it’s just me and cause I don’t like people in general but your co workers seem a little catty… lol.
That Pho looks amazing!!.I still need to try to but I think I’ll ask my few friends and family if they ever tried it and where they recommend I should go.
LOL at your mom asking you to work at the donut shop. I wouldn’t but that’s just me,.but I think I’d get so fat 😧
And the cookies you made look delish! I haven’t baked in a while but now that it’s going to start getting colder I just might. It’ll keep the house warmed up haha
And…the cinnamon roll looks so good!! I can’t believe it’s vegan!.I actually found a recipe for an all vegan cinnamon roll that I want to try. I will have to find one of those places around here, I’ll be disappointed if we don’t have any though lol

    1. Lol ah yes, my co-workers are the worst kind of catty, but I try my best to kill ’em with kindness & I see some of ’em do have hearts. πŸ˜‰
I know Portland has to have some good pho because I remember how I never hit a bad spot in Washington, it was all good!
LOL, I do not want to work at the donut shop either. Especially in a tiny Arkansas town… maybe when I’m older?? My mom said she has gained lots of weight since she has started in the donut industry hahaha.
Hey, the baking was kind of fun. ;D Next time, I’m going to try these maple meringue cookies!! Hehe. It’s still freakin’ hot as hell over here though. Can’t wait til it cools down!
I looked it up for you & there is not a Cinnaholic in Portland yet. 😦 It says COMING SOON to Seattle though!! ❀

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Well supposedly the best pho is in Seattle but I didn’t get a chance to look it up when I was there. That reminds me, I have like two posts to write about LMAO
LOL does your mom bake all the donuts?
Awh darn 😦 Seattle is a bit far for just a cinnamon roll LOL

  8. Those cinnamon rolls look amazing!! I love the idea of being able to choose different flavored cinnamon rolls than just the traditional or even making your own! What a fun idea. πŸ™‚ I still need to watch the “Everything, Everything” movie. I kind of forgot about it after reading the book, but I want to see how the adaptation plays out! Our apartment complex has it as a free rental right now, so I should just grab it haha.

    1. GOSH you should have seen all of the frosting flavors. We had to let the people behind us go ahead because I couldn’t make up my mind! I neeeed to see Everything, Everything! Let me know what you think if you do watch it! I’m jealous you can have it for free haha. ❀
