I gotta try my hardest to make this quick and not ramble as much as I usually do. I’m all dressed and ready for work, we’re just smoking the blunt and finishing our espressos before we go!

Yesterday, we went out to eat at this Thai restaurant called Satay. We had never been there before even though it’s pretty close to our apartment.

The interior was so nice and fancy – I was worried it was going to be one of those overpriced restaurants but, luckily, it wasn’t too bad.

There were SO many good appetizers, it was so hard to choose just one so we ended up with two:

The Shrimp Summer Rolls, which were yummy, the extra lettuce for presentation made us giggle a little.

And the duck which tasted good but was a wee bit dry.

Boyfriend ordered his favorite Thai dish, Pad Woon Sen with shrimp and beef at a Spicy Level 10.

The menu at Satay isn’t strictly Thai here, I noticed there was some Malaysian dishes. I wanted to try something new so I went with one called Mee Goreng with shrimp and chicken.

It was PHENOMENAL. So glad I chose this instead of going with one of my usual orders [Pad Thai or Pad Kee Mao].

After that, we wanted Starbucks but, they were all closed except for the one in a Target nearby. We were lucky that we went because before we left the house we said to each other that we had 3 places to go: eat, buy razor heads, and the dispensary.

We completely forgot about the razor heads until GPS brought us to a Target. ANNOYINGLY, the Starbucks was fucking closed because their machine was broken but, at least we remembered to buy our shavers!!

We came home and made a pot of our nasty Dunkin’ Donuts coffee instead. I wrote my Currentlys… posts and then read some blogs. We went into the bed at like 1 AM because we wanted to lay down. I read Four Weeks, Five People while boyfriend played his game on his phone. We ended up going to sleep around 3-ish AM.

Today, I did nothing but read blogs on my Reader, look at different fonts on fontmeme.com, get ready for work, and eat a nasty dinner [I tried to make something and it didn’t turn out good… lol].

Now, I GOTTA GO!

  1. I loved that you tried something new at the Thai restaurant and enjoyed it! I always get Pad Thai also, and I’m always scared to try something new because what if I don’t like it and I just wasted that money?? lol. But I really should just try more because I may love it! Also, isn’t that the worst when you make a meal and it turns out awful?! It puts me in such a bad mood, haha. That was basically last night for me, and I learned that do not want to try cooking flounder again, gross!

    1. I know! I’m always so worried when I try something new, too, but exactly! You never know until you give it a shot!

Lol yes! That’s why I hate cooking – it always turns out bad! I was so crabby after stuffing myself with that nasty food. 😭

  2. Those spring rolls look sooo refreshing. That dish you got is making my mouth water! I recently discovered a new favorite thai dish called pad see ew. Cannot go wrong with thai. And the hotter the better!!

    1. Mmm they were sooo fresh & tasty! I love Pad See Ew. β™‘ But, I always go for the Pad Kee Mao! You should try it if you haven’t yet – I think you might switch over, too! & sadly I had to do a spicy level 0 because I didn’t want to have heart burn & a stomach ache LOL. I bet my dish would have been even better if I could’ve added the spice. 😭

      1. I will definitely be trying it! yuuuum!!!! I have never met thai I haven’t liked. Girl, you have more self control than I . lol! I just take a crap load of tums. Horrible, horrible … I know. But I need. the. spice. Lol, I’m being so dramatic

      2. Now that you say that I don’t think I’ve ever had a Thai dish I didn’t like either!! LOL I eat Tums like candy too but sometimes I am self-conscious and do not wanna bloated belly for work [AKA gas, LOL]. But you’re not being dramatic, honestly, the spice addiction is real. Sometimes I fuck myself over & have to skip work hahaha… I’ll wake up like WHYYY did I do this to myself? But WHILE I’m eating the spicy stuff I know I could stop to spare myself but… I. JUST. CAN’T. !! I love how similar we are on our food choices!!!!! ❀ ❀ ❀

  3. Like Pad Thai also, but as I worked for Malaysia Airlines in Los Angeles for 8 years , I’m partial to Malaysian food as well and that Mee Koreng looked so yummy. If you go to that restaurant again and you want some different Malaysian food, ask for beef rendang, which is really good.

    1. I’ve only had Malaysian food a couple times & loved each thing I’ve tried! I’ll def go for the Beef Rendang if they have it! Sounds delish, thanks for the recommendation! β™‘

  4. The food looks wonderful. I’m also a huge fan of pad kee mao but I also love Malaysian food so I think I would also have gone for the mee goreng.

I’ve likely mentioned it before but ordering pad thai in Toronto is a risk. For some reason, in about half the restaurants they will use ketchup instead of tamarind to add the sour element to the dish. For this reason I almost never order pad thai – it really is vile with ketchup.

      1. It really does stick with you. You see? I can’t stop talking about it myself. I can’t figure it out. It’s not like tamarind is something expensive that you need to substitute. It’s cheap. Clearly someone (maybe many people?) think it tastes good – and they’re ruining it for the rest of us.

      2. It’s so hard to believe that people think ketchup Pad Thai tastes good but I’ve known so many people who eat ketchup with everything – like even eggs. 😦 😦 SO NASTY!

    1. That Mee dish was sooo freakin’ tasty – I haven’t stopped thinking about it since lol. & YES!! I am so proud of you for attempting spicy!! Your tongue will get used to it & you will crave it in no time. πŸ˜‰ Do Alex, Ciel, and your brother like spicy food?!

      1. LOL I get like that with new dishes. I have to keep having them πŸ˜€
And Alex loves spicy, the spiciest thing Ciel eats is hot cheetos >.> go figure but food, no.. he’s the pickiest eater i have ever seen lol.. my brother, I guess he does okay with spicy foods.

      2. I was thinking too! Because you & your brother both aren’t into spicy food but Alex does & Ciel might when he gets older! My little brothers started loving spicy foods before they were even in Kindergarten!

      3. Yeah I hope he does, it’s great for your metabolism lmao. And my auntie and grandma used to take care of us until our parents got off work and they would always make spicy foods but I never could get used to them for some reason.

  5. Mmm… that duck and shrimp roll… ❀

I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one that takes it personally when my local Starbucks is closed, haha. I get so frustrated when they tell me they can't make a certain drink I was craving for for whatever reason.
