Journal Entry #104

June 12, 2018

Only three more days until my birthday. Great.

I’m going to work tonight, tomorrow, and Thursday and take off Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I know my period is coming soon so I’m actually hoping it’ll be here during my 4 days off. If it comes after, I’ll be forced to have a very LONG break.

I think I have everything I wanna do planned for those 4 days. I’m so excited!! Nothing too extravagant, though, trust me.

Anywho, the last time I wrote a Journal Entry was on Saturday but, I know I don’t really have to recap the night because I also wrote A Saturday In My Shoes, so you already know how my night ended.

On Sunday, boyfriend had to work during the day. I woke up for an hour and read some blogs right when he left but, it was so early… of course, I fell back asleep all the way until he got home around 4 or 5p? I had made us reservations for the Yardbird in the Venetian casino but, they weren’t until 7:30p and we were already starving. We smoked a blunt, I took a shower, and then we smoked another blunt. It still wasn’t time for our reservation and I realized that they don’t have jambalaya or gumbo or ANY seafood at the Yardbird. It’s all about fried chicken there and what I was really lookin’ for was: seafood.

I remembered this restaurant above Sushi Neko that I had been wanting to go to called I ❀ Crab. The Yelp ratings were low and the reviews were bad so we’ve always been really nervous to try it out but, I was like, ‘there has been so many places that we have absolutely loved that wasn’t exactly popular with the Yelpers, either.

I mean, come on, AYCE seafood (including snow crab legs, clams, green and black mussels, crawfish, and shrimp) and a one-time only lobster tail plus, a large variety of appetizers for only $28 per person?? YES YES YES.

The interior was cool and hip. There was large artwork on the walls, KPop music blaring, and that hipster vibe.

We ordered everything right away. All of our appetizers came out first:

I tried to get a picture of everything but, it all was coming too fast and my fingers were getting too dirty to grab my phone and snap shots. We tried their 3 different flavors of chicken wings, crab tempura, ‘The Shit’, gyoza, calamari tempura, french fries, salmon sashimi, and black mussels soup.

Then… the star of the show came out…

MY BIG BAG OF SEAFOOD!! Stuffed inside was one lobster tail, 2 thingys of snow crab, mussels, shrimp, corn, garlic, and potatoes all mixed in this wonderfully spicy sauce. Boyfriend picked all the same meats as me but, he went for the ‘crazy’ spicy sauce. There wasn’t too big of a difference.

I am a pro at opening crab legs and shrimps but, I had never cracked open my own lobster tail before. It was hard at first but, then I cracked it with that metal crab cracker and it was easy peasy. The lobster meat was SO BIG AND JUICY, too. YUM!! I already want to go back again and am so glad I decided to disregard the Yelpers. I guess they’re not always right.

After I ❀ Crab, we were going to go to the Gelato Bar for this watermelon sorbet I’m obsessed with and haven’t had since last summer (at least that’s how it feels like, lol). They did have dessert included in the AYCE price but, I didn’t want anything dairy-filled. There was no parking around the Gelato Bar so, we just decided to skip it and go to Starbucks for our usual vanilla frappucinos.

We came home, I wrote and read blogs for the rest of the night while boyfriend watched TV. I don’t even remember what time we went to bed.

Yesterday, boyfriend had to work during the evening. I woke up around 3p, which is the time boyfriend clocked in at work, and I was already hungry. I knew it would be a loooong time for me to wait for him to come home and make dinner so I read a little bit of The Vanishing Year before I decided to walk to the Laos Asia Market to order the spiciest papaya salad, ever.

It was SO GOOD. My eyes and nose were watering, my tongue and lips were on fire but I just couldn’t stop eating it. I had a bowl of brown rice on the side, too.

When boyfriend finally got home, it was nearly 10p. It was past 10p when he told me he had to get the cats’ food before he could start cooking our food (otherwise the store was going to be closed). He also had to refill all of our water jugs. Before he even came home from the store and water mill, I was all dressed and ready to go. I couldn’t wait for him to cook dinner; I was famished. My stomach is a never-ending black abyss during PMS. I NEED FOOD.

So instead of cooking at home, we went to Viet Noodle Bar because I know how fast they make their food. It’s on the table in mere seconds after you order.

We ordered both spring rolls and egg rolls to share.

Don’t they make their plate of egg rolls so fancy?

I ordered the lemongrass beef vermicelli noodle salad ^. Boyfriend ordered the vermicelli salad, too, but with grilled beef, pork, and shrimp. I also ordered a side of shrimp for mine.

Boyfriend tried to win me a plushy from the claw game but, he didn’t get one this time. He usually ALWAYS does, lol.

Then, we went to Tea of Joy for some honey boba milk teas. It’s the only joint that has non-dairy alternatives and it just happens to be the fucking teenager hotspot, too. Since it’s summer now, the little hooligans were everywhere… mean-mugging me as if I’m not a grown woman.

I ordered the Lavender Milk Tea w/ almond milk and honey bobas at the half sweet level and boyfriend ordered the Green Milk Tea w/ honey bobas also at the half sweet level. They both looked the same, here’s mine:

We came home and I remember I had to wait for boyfriend to do something before we could start a movie together but, I can’t remember what? Lol. While I waited I replied to my blog comments and I also ordered some things off Amazon Smile.

One thing I ordered was The Descendants on DVD but, now I’m kinda mad because T-Mobile gave me free credits to rent a movie off Vudu and The Descendants is on there.

I also ordered two new phone chargers because somehow both of ours got bent in the same week?! We also both peeled our screen protectors off so I purchased a 2-pack, I pre-ordered The Fifth To Die by J.D. Barker (it doesn’t come out until July 23rd), I purchased The Ruining by Anna Collomore because there is no ebook version and I really want to read it. It was under $5 and has already shipped to me. I also ordered a new Phillip’s electric razor along with some triple A batteries.

When boyfriend was done with whatever it was that he was doing… we watched Coco on Netflix!!! It was THE CUTEST film, ever. Definitely give it a watch when you have time!!

Today, I woke up at 4p. I took a shower right away and then, I COOKED DINNER. I didn’t burn myself nor ruin ANYTHING. I am very proud but, it was an incredibly easy meal to prepare. While I waited for the food to be done, I just browsed the web, looking at the events/times for my birthday activities. While I ate, I started the first episode of Bunheads on Hulu but, I knew I’d run out time if I tried to watch the whole thing so at the first commercial, I turned it off. Yay, self-control!!! I had to make sure my post for tomorrow morning was scheduled and ready, I replied to some comments, and then wrote this entry.

Boyfriend’s already texted me that he’s on his way home from work so I better start on my makeup now!!

  4. I loved Bunheads when it first aired!! I was so upset when I found out they cancelled the show. I’m a huge Gilmore Girls fan, so I liked seeing some of the same actors/actresses make appearances on the show (since it was by the same creators). πŸ™‚

    1. I was so excited to start it because it’s based here in Vegas!! I did see that it got cancelled after only one season though. :/ I didn’t know it was the same creators as Gilmore Girls, that’s really cool. I love Gilmore Girls, too! ❀ πŸ˜€

And one thing I usually like from any Asian restaurant are the gyoza, those are usually well done anywhere I go lol.

      1. I think I’ve mostly had it pan fried, I’ll have to try it deep fried and taste the difference. I usually like the filling though, it’s different everywhere lol.
And no problem!! Hope you had an amazing day!

        1. I think they should differentiate between the deep fried & pan fried ones because they’re sooo different but they never usually do! I like both. πŸ™‚ lol.

Thank you! Hope you have an amazing night β™‘

          1. I had some deep fried ones yesterday and it was so weird to me that I couldn’t remember that I had them before lmao. But yes, huge difference but they’re both really good. If I had to chose I think the pan fried ones are a little better.

    1. Not yet! I think the one I cooked is coming up next week. πŸ˜› Yes I did do my own review on Yelp for that place because I had to help ’em out a bit. πŸ™‚ I’ve never really used Trip Advisor before!
