Wow, it has been over a week since I wrote a journal entry. I don’t have any excuses!! I’m sorry to those who missed me. ❤ It was the Monday before last that I wrote. I can’t remember everything, obviously. I’ve already gone grocery shopping twice since then… We just got back from Smith’s and I think the last time we went grocery shopping was last Wednesday, too.

Last week when we went grocery shopping we also stopped at Inyo the dispensary to pick up some weed and they had these infused candies for $2 so boyfriend bought one for both of us. They tasted like ass lol.

The weekend at work was really busy. I got super drunk on Thursday night and Monday (of this week). Last week, I worked Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I was exhausted. So far I’ve only worked Monday of this week but I plan to work tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday.

On Sunday, we went to The Color Purple Musical at Reynolds Hall at the Smith Center. But, before that we went to the most popular Oyster Bar in Vegas at the Palace Station Casino. When we went the bar was full–we were lucky that only one couple was ahead of us. We could’ve gotten there before them if we didn’t have to stop at Ross first to buy the worst black flats ever. I thought I needed them but I would’ve been fine in my sandals.

We waited around 15 minutes before the spots cleared up for us but, the food was so worth it. I’ve never been to New Orleans but I have tried my fair share of Jambalayas… this was hands down the best, best, best bowl of it that I’ve ever tasted (so far):

It had all the seafood you could imagine. Lobster, crab, shrimp, clams, mussels!! MMM!! I already want to eat it again. Though… that wasn’t my order. That was boyfriend’s. I ordered the Combination Pan Roast:

I really wanted to try the gumbo but everyone raves about the pan roast on Yelp and I had never tried a pan roast before so that’s what I went for. It had lobster, crab, and shrimp in this thick tomato, spicy, delicious sauce. You bet I had a tummy ache the next day but man… was it worth it!!!

We also got these garlicky mussels to share:

I was able to drink the broth like soup, it was that good!!

I couldn’t get a good photo of their little cooking station because I was behind the beer dispenser thing but I tried my best… it was so cool to watch the chef cook everything right in front of us!

After the Oyster Bar we headed towards the Smith Center for the musical but, it was way too early. Like 5:30 and the play didn’t start ’til 7:30. We saw these tents up and food trucks parked so we decided to check it out. It was the Jazz Festival!

We finally found a parking spot, the parking lot was FULL and we had a long walk to get to the entrance. Sadly, the tickets were SOLD OUT so we couldn’t get in. We walked all the way back to our car and drove to the North Premium Outlet Mall across the street.

We found a Starbucks and ordered the largest size (which is now a “TRENTI”, did you guys know that?! It’s huge!) of the peach tea that was perfectly refreshing and wasn’t too sweet at all.

We also went to the food court to look for a dessert and I found this super soft chocolate chip cookie from some healthy smoothie place:

I shopped around and picked up a few items from Rue 21. Two t-shirts, a dress, and a skirt. I love that store, it’s so cheap and everything is so dang cute.

We also ordered a pretzel dog from Auntie Annie’s Pretzels… those things are amazing but I forgot to photograph it! I’m sure you all have seen one anyways. They are irresistible.

It was finally time for the musical!! So we drove not too far down the street to the venue. I saw the big poster for it as we passed it before we turned in to park.

We parked and followed the big group of people into the Reynolds Hall doors.

Of course, right away when we walked in we were taken aback by how incredible the place was:

The place is also extremely large!! You can even schedule a tour of the whole place which I’d def be interested in doing someday.

Before we went to find our seats we went to get some coffee. There was a fancy dining room, where they sold all kinds of food. They had sandwiches, fruit and cheese plates, chocolate cake, and more. We just got a cup of black coffee. We aren’t allowed uncovered beverages so we got this cup for $5 extra. Not bad since it’s pretty cute and reusable.

Maybe I can even use it again when I go for another play/musical. When I bought our tickets, there were only two shows left and I chose the last show which only had 81 seats to choose from. A lot of them were single seats so boyfriend and I had to choose a kinda shitty seat to sit next to each other but it wasn’t actually that horrible. We were at least able to see the whole stage.

I just like to see faces and facial expressions, too. The room was amazing. Here’s a photo of it without the magazine sized playbill in front of it:

The show was absolutely amazing. My favorite character was Sophie and I think she was everyone else’s favorite, too, because she got the loudest applause and cheers at the end. It seemed like it went by so quickly though it was a 2 1/2 hour show!! That’s how you know it was good.

The next show is Hamilton. I can’t express my disappointment about how I didn’t get my tickets. They went on sale on the 28th at 10a. I set my alarm and I woke up at 10:10. Got on the computer and went on the website… I was brought to this page saying I was IN LINE for buying tickets. It kept updating and saying all these dates were sold out. The tickets were going to be very fair priced too… at 12:15p I receive an e-mail telling me the line is cancelled and ALL shows were sold out. AHHH!!! Now, there are a few SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR seats available on certain dates. They said they will be selling tickets on the day of each show too… I’m guessing if people can’t go or something? So I have the tiniest sliver of hope that I’ll be able to snag one of those tickets.

After that is SCHOOL OF ROCK! I’m hoping to get a ticket to that and a ticket to all of the other shows this 2018/19 Broadway Season, there are SO many good ones!! They have a 10-show subscription (that’s all of ’em) that I’m trying to get but I have to wait for them to become available. Hopefully they don’t get all sold out before I can get one!! The Paris Casino also has a new Marilyn Monroe musical starting mid-May that I’m def going to!!

Anywho, after the musical… I can’t really remember what we did. Probably just came home and knocked out. It was late.

On Monday, boyfriend worked the evening shift so he was gone from 2p-9p. I read The Couple Next Door and played games on my phone. I ate a salad for dinner and then, got ready for work. I got way drunker than I anticipated.

Yesterday, I was just hungover as fuck. Boyfriend went to work at around 1p and I was still sleeping. I woke up and came out to the living room and watched hella movies on Netflix… like seriously 6 or so of them?? I wrote my blog schedule during one of them so I didn’t pay the most attention but, I still count it as a watched movie. I think I’ll make a post to review and rate all those movies?

We didn’t have any food at home (that’s why we went shopping today) so we went to eat at Thai Pepper when boyfriend came home and after we smoked a blunt.

We ordered our usual stuff. The beef salad for our appetizer:

The Shrimp Drunken Noodles for me:

And boyfriend ordered the Combo Pad Woon Sen but they gave him just shrimp… this is a photo of it before we sent it back for the beef and chicken:

It was delicious and spicy. My stomach was not happy today but I knew that would happen so I can’t complain.

We came home and watched a movie that I was really into but I fucking fell asleep lol. I have to finish it later tonight, hopefully.

Today, boyfriend had an appointment at Sears Auto Shop because our car was overheating due to a coolant leak somewhere. First, they just checked it to see what was wrong with it. Then they told us how much it would cost. I was at home reading the blogs on my reader all morning. Boyfriend came home to get the money and went straight back to get it fixed. I continued reading your blogs and still did not finish reading all of them when boyfriend came home 2 hours later. Hopefully our car is all fixed now!! And I’m gonna try to read the rest of the blogs on my reader tonight, too.

I’m mad because the cost of the fix was as much as I owe my dad still! So now I have to re-save that amount. Though should I really give it to him since the car needed fixing already?! LOL. I am thinking of it more as I am giving him money for his time that he spent driving here, I guess.

When boyfriend came home, I took a shower and then we smoked a blunt while I looked up some recipes. I found 3 that seemed good and wrote up the list. We went shopping and we just got back when I started this post!! The dinner is cooking and it smells oh so yummy! I can’t wait to eat it.

Here are some other random photos from my MIA week:

  1. Those musicals sound like so much fun! I honestly have heard so much about Hamilton, but I still have no idea what it’s about or what all the hype is for, lol. I should probably look it up to see what I’m missing. 😉 Also, those Trentis really are so big! I thought they were only available for tea and iced coffees, but if they changed that, I’m so down for it! 🙂

      1. I feel like once I tried to get an iced caramel macchiato in the trenti size and they said they couldn’t because it was specialty. :/ I hope that rule is changed now, lol! Oh yes, I bet they have them in Phoenix! It’s only two hours away, so that would be a fun overnight/weekend trip for us or something. 😉

  2. Not a fan of seafood other than shrimp so I couldn’t do the jumbalaya but the last meal pictured looked so good I’m about to force my boyfriend awake to get me some breakfast! Great post!

    1. Oh there was an option for just shrimp!!! I can’t believe you don’t like lobster and crab though, ah! So yummy. Hope your bf woke up & got you some food! Haha thank you! ♡

  3. I’ve been absent from the blog since last week. I just made sure I had my posts scheduled. But I’m back hopefully lol.
Sounds like you had an amazing time the day of the musical. I’ve been never to any and I’m not sure if I’d be a fan but i do love plays lol.
And holy hell that drink is huge, wtf a Trenti?! Whenever I go i get the same thing, a coffee frappe but I’d like to try some, thing else, I think I’ll try the peach tea next

    1. Aw!! Well at least you had posts scheduled for us while you were absent! ❤ We really did enjoy our day together on the day of the musical. A musical is just like a play but they burst into song every 10 minutes lol. I like both plays and musicals but I think musicals are just a little more exciting because of the live singing & dancing.
LOL RIGHT? It was really big!! I hope you like it if you do try it next time. 🙂

        1. Lol yes, exactly like in Disney but in real life! It’s even more magical! 😀 You’d like any of ’em, I think. I looked it up and Portland has Broadway shows! They have a bunch of good shows coming your way! Aladdin, King & I, School of Rock, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory! 😀
