Bacon Bison & Beer Chili:

My Review: Oh this was perfect. I have ZERO complaints. It was hearty and heart-warming. ❤

Ingredients Needed:

  • 3 slices thick-cut bacon, finely chopped
  • 1 large yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground bison
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sweet smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • About 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) crushed fire-roasted tomatoes or regular crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz.) salsa
  • 1 cup flavorful, medium-bodied beer
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) mixed beans, drained {or use black beans}{check label for gluten free}
    Chopped cilantro
  • Sliced jalapeno

Italian Sausage & Peppers Pasta:

My Review: Hmm… this dish was reeeeally bland. I think there should’ve been something other, something more than marinara used. It also had too many noodles and not enough sauce.

Ingredients Needed:

  • 1 lb. pasta
  • 1 lb. Sweet Italian Sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 yellow bell pepper, diced
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 1/2 cups broccoli florets

Chicken, Potato, Vegetable Tray Bake:

My Rating: 

My Review: The day we decided to cook this meal the chicken had already gone bad but, we still made the recipe… just without the chicken. The potatoes and veggies were super tasty. I’d probably be able to rate this dish a 5/5 if I got to try it with chicken, the sweet and spicy seasonings and flavors were so on point.

Ingredients Needed:

  • 650g (22.9oz) (approx 6 thighs) of chicken thighs
  • 650g (22.9oz) of baby potatoes, halved
  • 300g (10.5oz) of zucchini (courgette), halved lengthways and sliced
  • 25og (9oz) of butternut squash, chopped
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium red onion, chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbs of sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tsp of onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • salt and black pepper
  • 1/2 tbs of balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbs of maple syrup
  • 1 cup (240ml) of chicken stock
  • spray oil

  1. All of these look amazing! The pasta definitely does look like it could use some more sauce though. The chili looks the best. It looks so delicious. Especially with the cilantro and jalapenos on top. I wish I could take a bite of it right now. 😛

  2. I love your recipe reviews! I don’t think I’ve ever had bison before! That chili def looked really hearty. I think I might try making it at some point this week 😀 I’ll let you know how it goes
