On Saturday (St. Patrick’s Day), we woke up around 1p and got ready right away. We headed out to Henderson, a city 30m away from us. We made it to the festival and easily found a free parking spot. We walked towards the noise.

The weather wasn’t great. It was windy and a bit chilly but not horrendous. There were still a good amount of people enjoying the weirdo live music, rides, carnival games, and fair food.

We didn’t eat anything before because we knew we’d want to fill our bellies with the food there. Our first stop was boyfriend’s favorite… the turkey leg!

We sat down and enjoyed the leg together, it was delicious. Of course, we were thirsty afterwards so we looked for an interesting drink stand. We found this:

An Old Fashioned Soda stand. We bought the silver tin mug for $15 and got free refills the whole time we were there. We got to try almost all of the flavors. It was really, really tasty and totally worth the price!

We were still hungry so we went to the Indonesian BBQ stand and got a plate of noodles with one pork kebab and one chicken kebab:

We devoured this and then started shopping around at all of the little shops:

We realized there were even more shops inside the convention center:

We checked out what each seller had to offer. There was a woman who has an Etsy shop there. I bought a bubble bar and a small bath truffle:

The bubble bar smells like fresh, clean laundry and the bath truffle smells like mint chocolate chip ice cream! I haven’t tried either of ’em yet but if you want to check out her shop, here it is: Camilla Rose Soap Shop.

I also bought a 25 cent cherry flavored honey stick in there:

And then, we were ready to get some real dessert. We decided on a churro and deep-fried Oreos:

The churro had a Bavarian cream filling that surprised me. It wasn’t bad but I prefer it not to be filled with anything… the deep-fried Oreos were the most satisfying thing in the world, as always… yummmm!

There was a car show earlier in the day that we missed but we were lucky that the cars were still parked for us to look at:

My favorite!

We sat down for a bit and watched the live music before it was time for us to head to the Henderson Pavilion for Shrek the Musical. It was a 20m drive from the festival. When we got there, the gates weren’t open yet and we still had to pick up our tickets at the box office. We waited in the wrong line and when we got to the front, we were sent to a window that never had a line… sooo, we never had to wait in the first place but whatever. It wasn’t a long line or anything at all. It was just a “duh” moment!

The gates opened at 6p and it was so chilly… luckily, we had a blanket in our car! We were some of the first people to show up:

We easily found our seats. They were close enough to the stage but, way too off to the side. We were happy when the two seats in the same row as us but much closer to the center of the stage were never filled so we were able to move down and have a much better view. The two seats in front of me were children and I was able to have the perfect view. 🙂

I loved the performance but the crowd was pretty horrible. Lots of people were taking photos and videos of the actors and actresses even though we were instructed not to by Lord Farquaad before the show began. It seemed a lot of people weren’t really paying attention and talking with their family/friends. It was hard to hear and understand the words and lyrics often but, still… it was a super cute show and it was a super cool place to watch it.

After the show, we got coffee at Starbucks and then headed home. I showered quick to get the outside and charcoal scent off of me. I got my makeup on for work and worked from 12a-3:30a. It was extra busy both Friday and Saturday at work thanks to March Madness and St. Patrick’s Day!

On Sunday, boyfriend had to work during the day. He didn’t get home until a bit after 5p. I woke up around 12p and spent the whole day catching up with the blogs on my reader! I knew we would be too hungry to go grocery shopping so I made reservations at this popular Southern restaurant called Rhythm Kitchen.

We made it there at 7:20p, 10m before our reservations but, we were still able to sit down right away.

They not only gave us complimentary bread but ALSO, complimentary freaking delicious hush puppies!!

For our appetizer, we decided to share a bowl of gumbo. It came out a bit cold so we had to send it back for it to be warmed up… but it was definitely tasty still.

Boyfriend ordered the Jambalaya:

We liked it but agreed that it was a little heavy on the tomato. I forgot what the name of my plate was but it had blackened catfish filets topped with crawfish étouffée, Cajun rice, and some green beans:

We also got their Burgundy Mushrooms and Aspargus sides to share:

20180319_211533-800x600.jpg20180319_213951-800x600.jpg

Both were amazingly good. We checked out their dessert menu but, there was surprisingly nothing of interest. Maybe because we were so stuffed!

We came home, I wrote two blog posts, and read some blogs. Boyfriend and I are watching different shows and haven’t found one we both enjoy so I decided to watch my show on the computer while he watched his on the TV. We stayed up until around 2a and went to sleep. We woke up today at nearly 4p!!

I showered, we smoked and I looked for some recipes for this week. I made our grocery list and then, we went grocery shopping. We came home and boyfriend let me watch my show on the TV while we smoked and he cooked dinner. After dinner, I fell asleep for a li’l. I woke up, we smoked, and “hung out” for a bit then, I started editing the photos for this post… now I’m writing it, hehe. I’m gonna read a few blogs on my reader then maybe finish reading Wise Young Fool or watch more of Future Man.

Have a good week!! ❤

    1. Hahah maybe if I didn’t have to share the turkey leg with my boyfriend and he didn’t have to share it with me, neither of us would have been hungry afterwards, lol.
Yay!! I’m so glad you enjoy them, Jad!! How much more fun would it be if you were there with me!! ;D

  3. Festivals and parades are always so fun and interesting with the different stands and activities. I haven’t been to one in a long time, I might consider going to one in the summer, hopefully there will be some good ones and no drama. but that turkey leg is looking mighty good right about now!

    1. Right?! Festivals are my favorite!! I always am looking for one I can attend. Sadly, Vegas rarely has them. Minnesota had a TON in the summer. Hopefully you will have some good ones near you this summer and that there will be turkey legs hahah 😀

  4. Looks like so much fun! How cool that they went all out for st Patrick’s Day. I don’t think we have a festival like this one, or at least I don’t know of one since I don’t go out and drink, but I love that there were vendors everywhere. Lots of things to try.

      1. They might have them, I mean they have tents they can put up but I just haven’t looked thoroughly since I don’t go out but it would be something awesome to experience in Vegas as well
