Habanero & Strawberry Chicken Wings:

My Rating: 2.5/5 stars

My Review: The sauce could have definitely been spicier. We even added more habaneros than the recipe called for. I thought the strawberry flavor was a nice touch but our biggest problem was the sauce didn’t stick to the chicken at all. 😦 The skin was also rather soggy.

Ingredients Needed:
20 chicken wings
2 tbsp honey
3 tbsp of habanero and strawberry homemade sauce
blue cheese dip (this recipe also has a blue cheese dip recipe included that I couldn’t try [because I’m lactose intolerant])
few carrot, celery, cucumber
Habanero and strawberry hot sauce (make about 200ml):
2 carrots in cubes
1 small onion in cubes
3 garlic cloves finely chopped
4 strawberries
250ml cider vinegar
2 tbsp of honey or maple syrup
1 tbsp of habanero powder (3 whole ones, if they are fresh)
1tsp Xanthan or some cornstarch (liquid thickener)
salt, pepper

Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy:

My Rating: 5/5 stars

My Review: Oooh, man, this was tasty. We made our favorite recipe by Brooklyn Farm Girl for our dairy-free mashed potatoes on the side and some green beans. This was so hearty–the absolute perfect comfort dish for the cold weather. The gravy wasn’t super thick the way gravy usually is but hey, it was dairy-free and still amazingly delicious.

Ingredients Needed:
1 lb ground beef
½ onion minced
1 yellow onion sliced thin
4 garlic cloves minced
2 teaspoons steak seasoning
3 tablespoons gluten free breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon corn starch
3 tablespoons coconut oil divided (EVOO worked just fine)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon fresh ground pepper
4 sprigs fresh thyme or 1/8 teaspoon dried
8 ounces baby Bella or crimini mushrooms sliced
1 cup beef stock

Chicken Stroganoff:

My Rating: 3/5

My Review: This dish had potential, it was almost good, but the chicken and sauce both needed some more flavor. It was all a bit bland and dry.

Ingredients Needed:
3 tablespoons coconut oil divided (again, we used EVOO)
1 small yellow onion or half of a normal one diced
1-2 diced cloves of garlic
4-5 fresh shiitake mushrooms sliced (we couldn’t find these so we bought baby bellas)
1/3 cup of diced chanterelle mushrooms (we couldn’t find these either so we bought portabella mushrooms)
1/2 cup good white wine
1/2 cup good chicken stock
1 1/4 cup coconut milk
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 large boneless skinless chicken breast or 2 normal size ones sliced
1 package gluten free pasta cooked (we used regular pasta–no gluten intolerances here!)
